President-elect Donald Trump met with House Republicans Wednesday morning, the first stop on his post-election tour of Washington, D.C. Trump struck a triumphant tone from the outset, touting his and Republicans’ recent electoral victories. “It’s always nice to win,” Trump began, before celebrating the “historic kind of numbers” he and House Republicans put up on Election Day. “The House did very well,” Trump said. “We could have lost by quite a bit,” Trump said, before noting that Republicans wound up gaining four or five seats in the House. The president-elect noted that this was a small margin, but that, “when you get used to” controlling the chamber by a single vote, “you can get used to anything.” Trump also commented on his recent slew of Cabinet appointments, joking about the fact that he has so far tapped two House Republicans — Reps. Elise Stefanik (NY) and Michael Waltz (FL) as United Nations Ambassador and national security adviser, respectively. Addressing concerns that he is chipping away at an already-slim majority, Trump joked that he wanted at least 15 House Republicans in his administration, and that he might come back for more later, The Hill reported. “Full House” actor Dave Coulier has disclosed that he has stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The 65-year-old made the announcement during an interview with People magazine published on Wednesday. Coulier said he was diagnosed last month after experiencing an upper respiratory infection with significant swelling in his lymph nodes.  The actor was instructed by his doctor to get PET and CT scans of the swollen area. “Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive,’” Coulier told the outlet.  “I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming,” he went on. “This has been a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey.” Coulier said he reacted to the news and made a plan with his wife, Melissa Bring, and his close friends. That included starting chemotherapy within the first two weeks. “We all kind of put our heads together and said, ‘Okay, where are we going?’ And they had a very specific plan for how they were going to treat this,” he said, noting that his bone marrow test was negative. “At that point, my chances of curable went from something low to 90% range. And so that was a great day.”  The “Full House” star also shaved his head in anticipation of losing his hair during the cancer treatments. “That was really a conscious decision of, I’m going to meet this head-on, and I want people to know it’s my life,” Coulier added. “I’m not going to try and hide anything. They really instilled that in me and inspired me in a way because they were magnificent going through what they went through, and I just thought, ‘I’m okay with this too.’ I’ve had an incredible life on a journey with incredible people around me and I’m okay. It does change perspective for sure.” Coulier also shared some advice for his fans, saying, “Take great care of yourself, because there’s a lot to live for. And if that means talking with your doctors or getting a mammogram or a breast exam or colonoscopy, it can really make a big change in your life.”

The U.K.-based news outlet The Guardian will no longer post on X from its official accounts, the company has announced. The outlet cited “disturbing content” that it claims circulates on the social media platform as a reason for exiting. The Guardian currently has more than 80 accounts on X, with approximately 27 million followers. “This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism,” the statement said. The Guardian noted that X users will still be able to share its articles on the platform. The news outlet also said that it would continue to use X posts in its reporting and that reporters would be using X as a source.   “Social media can be an important tool for news organizations and help us to reach new audiences but, at this point, X now plays a diminished role in promoting our work. Our journalism is available and open to all on our website and we would prefer people to come to theguardian.com and support our work there,” the statement concluded. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ X owner Elon Musk reacted to the news, writing: “They are a laboriously vile propaganda machine.” Last April, the non-profit media company NPR stopped using X after the platform added a “state-affiliated media” tag to NPR’s profile, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “NPR’s organizational accounts will no longer be active on Twitter because the platform is taking actions that undermine our credibility by falsely implying that we are not editorially independent,” a spokesperson said in a statement at the time. “We are not putting our journalism on platforms that have demonstrated an interest in undermining our credibility and the public’s understanding of our editorial independence,” it said. The Berlin Film Festival also announced this month that it would no longer post on X after this year but did not release a statement or give a reason for the change.

Jazmin Montalvo and company were shocked when they went downstairs to discover one of these enormous creatures raiding the refrigerator. Commenters were amazed that this bear knew to look for food in the fridge, and some suggested that the critter might have been an experienced home intruder.
