Candidates Line Up For Race To Replace Stefanik In House Leadership Role

Republicans are throwing their hats into the ring to replace Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as the House GOP’s No. 3 leader now that she has been selected by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as his U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. The Republican Conference chair position, the holder of which “heads organization of all Republican Party members in the House,” has been held by Stefanik since she took over from then-Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) in 2021. Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), who was just elected to serve a third term in the lower chamber, announced her candidacy on Monday. “With the mandate the American people gave President Trump and my fellow Republicans on Tuesday, we need to deliver results now more than ever,” Cammack said in a post to X. “We need to be one team, one mission. I’m all in to be our next House Conference Chair and I look forward to executing on the America First agenda we have been sent to Washington for.” Rep. Lisa McClain, another member fresh off winning a third term, also declared. McClain is already serving in GOP leadership as secretary of the House Republican Conference. “Pres. Trump & I brought together a unified coalition of voters in Michigan that represents the modern Republican party,” McClain said on X. “I’m running to be Conference Chair because this is the approach we need to retain and grow our Conference. I’m ready for the challenge!” Multiple reports said Rep. Erin Houchin (R-IN), who just won a second term, is competing in the race, too. In a letter to colleagues, Houchin pledged to ensure House GOP messaging is “conservative and clear” if she is chosen, according to the Indianapolis Star. She also said: “I am committed to working with each of you to support President Trump, hone our message, communicate it effectively, and support all your communication needs.” Heritage Action Scorecard, which rates members based on “how conservative” they have been in votes and co-sponsorships, gave Cammack 91%, McClain 70%, and Houchin 66% for the 118th congressional session from 2023 to 2024. Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY), who first won her seat in 2022 after defeating Cheney in the primary, endorsed McClain while noting how she “supported President Trump early and helped to turn a ‘blue’ state red.” Yet another Trump ally — Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who lost to Stefanik for the House Republican Conference chair the last time — is reportedly backing Cammack. A potential fourth contender, Rep. Blake Moore (R-UT), has reportedly been making calls to colleagues about a run. The Hill’s Emily Brooks also reported on X that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is not discounting a campaign of her own, telling the reporter: “I haven’t ruled out running, many people are saying I should. Whoever it is, I believe it’s important that the conference chair supports President Trump from the very beginning.” GOP leadership elections in the House are expected to take place on Wednesday. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), and Republican Policy Committee Chairman Gary Palmer (R-AL) are seeking another stint in their roles. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is also running to stay put, though whoever gets the gavel will be determined by the entire House, likely in January. House Democrats are slated to hold their leadership elections next week. Jockeying for top roles is also underway in the Senate, which the GOP won back last week.

Promise Kept! Trump Picks Hard Core Border Czar

First, I want to say Happy Veterans Day and thank you to everyone who has served in uniform in the United States military. You are making a sacrifice, and you have made sacrifices none of the rest of us have made. We owe you our undying gratitude, particularly on Veterans Day. Thank you so much for fighting for this country, for defending this country, and for making everything we have possible. Today, we have winning on the menu with two big Trump wins right off the bat. Trump has now tapped Tom Homan as his new “border czar.” Tom Homan is, of course, the former acting ICE chief. In a social media post late on Sunday, Trump made his announcement: I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (“The Border Czar”), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security. I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job. Homan is somebody who really stands up for the principles of a closed border and for legal immigration. In October during an interview with 60 Minutes’ Cecilia Vega, Homan clarified his positioning on deportation: Vega: We have seen one estimate that says it would cost $88 billion to deport a million people a year. Homan: I don’t know if that’s accurate or not. Vega: Is that what American taxpayers should expect? Homan: What price do you put on national security? Is it worth it?  Vega: Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families? Homan: Of course there is. Families can be deported together. Trump is serious about deporting a large number of people, and Homan is the most serious person to act as “border czar.” WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show In a hearing in 2019 before the Committee on Oversight and Reform, Homan faced down the venerable intellect, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Congress: Ocasio-Cortez: Mr. Homan, your name is on this. Is this correct? Homan: Yes, I signed that memo. Ocasio-Cortez: So you are the author of the family separation policy? Homan: I am not the author of this memo. Ocasio-Cortez: You’re not the author, but you signed the memo? Homan: Yes, a zero-tolerance memo. Ocasio-Cortez: So you provided the official recommendation to Secretary Nielsen on family—for the United States to pursue family separation? Homan: I gave Secretary Nielsen numerous recommendations on how to secure the border and save lives. Ocasio-Cortez: But it says here that you—you gave her numerous options, but the recommendation was option three, family separation. Homan: What I’m saying, this is not the only paper where we had given the Secretary numerous options to secure the border and save lives. Ocasio-Cortez: And so the recommendation — of the many that you recommended — you recommended family separation. Homan: I recommended zero tolerance. Ocasio-Cortez: Which includes family separation. Homan: The same as it is with every U.S. citizen parent that gets arrested when they’re with a child. Ocasio-Cortez: Zero tolerance was interpreted as the policy that separated children from their parents? Homan: If I get arrested for DUI and I have a young child in the car, I’m going to be separated. When I was a police officer in New York and I arrested a father for domestic violence, I separated that father from— Ocasio-Cortez: Mr. Homan, with all due respect, legal asylees are not charged with any crime. Homan: When you’re in the country illegally, it’s a violation of eight United States Code 1325. Ocasio-Cortez: Seeking asylum is legal. Homan: If you want to seek asylum, go through the port of entry, do it the legal way. The Attorney General of the United States has made that clear. That is the new border czar. Trump was not joking when he talked about closing the border and taking the issue of illegal immigration seriously. Tom Homan as the “border czar” was not Trump’s only announced pick over the weekend. He also announced Rep. Elise Stefanik to his choice for the U.N. ambassador role. That’s a great job. If you have to pick any job in the American government, U.N. ambassador is a fantastic job because you have a very nice apartment in New York City, and then you go over to the U.N., which is a repository of all human scum, and yell at dictators all day. It’s a pretty phenomenal job. Stefanik happens to be an excellent candidate for this position. Just last December, she stood up to antisemitism on college campuses. In last year’s Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing on “Holding Campus Leaders Accountable and Confronting Antisemitism,” Stefanik pressed then-Harvard University President Claudine Gay, along with several other university heads, whether allowing antisemitic chants calling for the elimination of the state of Israel was, in fact, antisemitic: Stefanik: I will ask you one more time. Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Harvard’s rules of bullying and harassment? Yes or no? Gay: Antisemitic rhetoric when it crosses into conduct, that amounts to bullying, harassment, intimidation, that is actionable conduct, and we do take action. Stefanik: So the answer is yes. That calling for the genocide of Jews violates Harvard Code of Conduct. Correct? Gay: Again, it depends on the context. Stefanik: It does not depend on the context the answer is yes, and this is why you should resign. These are unacceptable answers across the board. After this hearing — and after she was found to have plagiarized multiple works, including her dissertation — Gay ended up losing her job. So, these are all excellent picks. * * * MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+

Leader Of 10 Million Christians Condemns Attack On Jews In Amsterdam

Pastor John Hagee, founder and chairman of Christians United For Israel, which has over 10 million members, issued an impassioned statement following the recent attacks on Jews in Amsterdam. “This week, an Israeli soccer team competed in Amsterdam,” Hagee began. “After the game, the Israeli soccer fans were hunted in the streets outside of the stadium. Jews were punched, kicked, stabbed, and thrown into the river while mobs attempted to lynch others. Jews were brutally pursued with a bloodlust reminiscent of October 7 in what can only be described as a modern-day pogrom.” “In fact, this violence occurred on the eve of Kristallnacht, known as ‘The Night of Broken Glass,’ which happened on November eighth through the eleventh in 1938,” he continued. “And last week the Jews were once again under attack in Europe. The world knows the details of what happened because the attackers filmed their assault and proudly posted it online.” “Wake up, America,” he exhorted. “What do you think would have happened to the Jewish people had Israel not sent planes to rescue them? Where could they have gone? Nowhere but Israel.” “For anyone who continues to be confused about Jewish hatred, let me be clear: This is what happens when you make anti-Semitism fashionable on a global scale,” he declared. “This is what happens when you normalize denigration, dehumanization, and isolation of the Jewish state and its people. Israel has always existed; it was created by God Almighty, the boundaries of which were recorded in the Bible.” “The nation of Israel has always been the home of the Jewish people and it will always exist. If there is a line to be drawn, then draw the line around Christians and Jews, because we are one,” he proclaimed. “Israel lives: yesterday, today, and forever.” Last week in Amsterdam, Israeli soccer fans were subjected to brutal, unprovoked violence, reminiscent of the darkest days of history. Innocent people were hunted, assaulted, and terrorized, echoing the horrors of Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass," which unfolded in… pic.twitter.com/7RsEqIJK4z — Pastor John Hagee (@PastorJohnHagee) November 11, 2024 “Since Oct. 7, 2023, these Moroccan youths have participated in weekly anti-Zionist demonstrators through the streets of Amsterdam. Early Friday morning, their activism turned into violence when they attacked Maccabi Tel Aviv’s fans,” Leon de Winter, a political commentator for De Telegraaf, noted in The Wall Street Journal, adding, “In a news conference Friday, Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema refused to utter the words Islam, Muslim or Moroccan.”

Emma Heming Willis Tributes Bruce Willis With “Beautiful And Heartbreaking” Video

Emma Heming Willis shared a throwback video of Bruce Willis and his youngest daughter, Evelyn, as she celebrated his place in his children’s lives. The former model took to Instagram to post a memory of Bruce and Evelyn as they explored Manhattan. Evelyn, now 10, was much younger in the clip, and she laughed while Bruce carried her around the city on his shoulders. The two bonded while they wandered through the streets, seemingly lost in their own world. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emma Heming Willis (@emmahemingwillis) “The best seat in the house,” Emma wrote. Bruce Willis is a father to five daughters. Emma, Demi, and their daughters have dedicated themselves to caring for Bruce, and they’ve often reminded fans of how loving and dedicated of a father he was and continues to be. In the comments, fans banded together with words of support. “Memories can be comforting & painful at the same time,” a commenter wrote. “This is so hard to navigate.” “This is beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. Thinking of you all ,” wrote another. “For all of us out here who don’t know you at all —the way you share how you love; How you advocate; How damn human it all is; What strength and vulnerability really look like. Sara Haines Schools The View Cast on Dems Giving Illegals Free Stuff

The View’s general refusal to do any serious soul-searching following the Democratic Party’s humiliating loss to President-elect Trump, continued on Monday after they had a weekend to stew on it. With anti-Trump Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin apparently out sick, ABC’s pretend independent Sara Haines was the only person on the set attempting to speak any sense. While they opened the show by freaking out over Trump nominating former acting ICE director Tom Homan to be his boarder czar, Haines took the (sadly) courageous position of admitting the obvious: “there is a problem at the border, and there's been a problem for decades and decades, and every administration has come through here and no one has fixed it.” “It ballooned in this last administration, and that's what the people voted on, a referendum on that,” she added. Haines put her foot down and declared: “either we have laws at the border or we don't. We're asking people to get in line to come to this country while incentivizing people not waiting in the line.” With possibly the first time any ABC News viewer had heard about any of it, Haines called out the Democrats in so-called “sanctuary cities” for incentivizing illegal immigration with gratuitous handouts. She even pointed to Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) as part of the problem:   Like, we've seen things where sanctuary cities like California and Illinois, it's kind of like, get to the country, like, kick the can. If you get to base though, you're going to be fine. You also have Tim Walz signed into legislation in Minnesota that allowed undocumented immigrants to receive free in-state tuition. All these are lovely in spirit, but there are people that can't pay for food for their own families. In New York, they were giving the $500 meal cards. And obviously we want to help someone for the humane interests, but there's a lifeboat here. And I think the rage about the border was also people here that are maybe insecure, homeless at times, making ends meet, and they don't have any of -- they can't send their kid to college. That's the outrage of what I saw the voters say.     Moderator Whoopi Goldberg responded by chiding the voters for Trump instead of the side that backed an 11th-hour, election-year border bill. Mischaracterizing the support for the bill, Goldberg misleading claimed: “The Border Patrol agents were saying, this is a good deal for us, and it was stopped – I'm going to repeat that. It was stopped by the man who's just been elected president. He stopped that.” In reality, the Border Patrol union picked Trump as their candidate. Fake Republican Ana Navarro took a sick pleasure in her purported Trump-supporting friends worried about losing their illegal immigrant labor. “So, I told them that I suggested they learn how to clean their kids' ass,” the proud childless cat lady proclaimed. Earlier in the show, Navarro lashed out at America for electing Trump. “[America] screwed around, and you're about to find out,” she snarked. Haines countered by calling attention to the fact that the Democrats were abusing the asylum system to help illegal immigrants and it was hurting actual asylum seekers: They changed this asylum rule too though where there are real people that need asylum in this country, and they ballooned that asylum law which meant people were cutting the line and those that were vulnerable, it's been diluted, the pool of people. There should be able to be a real conversation about the problems with immigration. Staunchly racist Sunny Hostin took to downplaying all the free stuff Democrats were giving illegals. “There's this feeling like you mentioned, that, you know, there are American citizens suffering because other, I guess, funds are being given to undocumented immigrants,” she rhetorically scoffed. She followed up by claiming illegals were paying billions in taxes and getting no benefits at all, and scolded Americans: But the fact of the matter is undocumented immigrants paid approximately $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. And so, that is very significant because they pay into things like social security, they pay into things like Medicaid, but they don't get the benefits. So, the notion somehow that they're taking away from American citizens, they're really giving to this country because they want to be here. “I don't think they know that immigrants are paying these taxes,” she condescendingly added. “It doesn't mean they're taking away from people that are simultaneously suffering, the outrage of people that are struggling to put food on the table aren’t saying – they're just saying, ‘why aren't we getting some help over here?” Haines pushed back. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View November 11, 2024 11:07:28 a.m. Eastern (…) SARA HAINES: I think that the weaponizing of immigrants or equating immigrants to criminals was feeding off people's fears because the statistics don't support that. But there is a problem at the border, and there's been a problem for decades and decades, and every administration has come through here and no one has fixed it. It ballooned in this last administration, and that's what the people voted on, a referendum on that. Because right now – One thing I've never understood, and I actually think we'll wait to see how this looks, but either we have laws at the border or we don't. We're asking people to get in line to come to this country while incentivizing people not waiting in the line. Like, we've seen things where sanctuary cities like California and Illinois, it's kind of like, get to the country, like, kick the can. And I think the rage about the border was also people here that are maybe insecure, homeless at times, making ends meet, and they don't have any of -- they can't send their kid to college. That's the outrage of what I saw the voters say. [Crosstalk] WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Perhaps the problem then the voters should have said, ‘why didn't we pass the legislation that they had put together?’ Because it was both sides saying, here's what we have. The Border Patrol agents were saying, this is a good deal for us, and it was stopped – I'm going to repeat that. It was stopped by the man who's just been elected president. He stopped that. So, if you want to talk about the problems at the border, when people come to you with solutions, once you turn them into a politics of solutions, and it's an issue. [Crosstalk] ANA NAVARRO: I saw the statistic during the elections and I think it was in the New York Times that said, when Trump said things, people didn't think it applied to them. So, in the last few days, I got a call from a couple of people, friends of mine, people very close to me in Miami, big Trumpers who are worried now about what's going to happen to their undocumented nannies that help them raise their children. So, I told them that I suggested they learn how to clean their kids' ass. [Laughter] [Applause] People who think that what Trump was saying, that the racial slurs, that the threats on immigration, the Department of Education, all those things that Trump was saying, RFK – was just rhetoric, hyperbole. They’re about to find out. [Crosstalk] HAINES: They changed this asylum rule too though where there are real people that need asylum in this country, and they ballooned that asylum law which meant people were cutting the line and those that were vulnerable, it's been diluted, the pool of people. There should be able to be a real conversation about the problems with immigration. GOLDBERG: There are problems. Go ahead. SUNNY HOSTIN: Can I make a point? Because I think that there is this sort of feeling in America that immigrants or undocumented immigrants are taking their jobs. There's this feeling like you mentioned, that, you know, there are American citizens suffering because other, I guess, funds are being given to undocumented immigrants. But the fact of the matter is undocumented immigrants paid approximately $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022.
