Is it 1938 all over again?

In Amsterdam, hundreds of violent Muslim thugs physically attacked Jews in the streets, threw them in the river, beat them bloody. 62 of them allegedly were arrested, yet only 4 remain in custody. And those 4 will likely be released when all the furor dies down. Now it’s the Jews. Next it will be the […]

WSJ Editorial Board Accuses Dems Of ‘Election Denial’

The Wall Street Journal took Democrats to task on Sunday, accusing them of “election denial” for refusing to concede the Pennsylvania Senate race. Dave McCormick, the Republican challenger, is currently leading in Pennsylvania by less than 40,000 votes with more than 95% of votes counted. The Associated Press projected McCormick as the winner on Thursday. Nevertheless, Democratic Senator Bob Casey, who is seeking a fourth term, has refused to concede. Only 87,000 provisional ballots are left to count. Provisional ballots are those with some legal hangup, such as mail ballot issues or voter registration questions. As the race stands now, Casey seems unlikely to pull ahead. The Philadelphia and Pittsburgh counties have about 30,000 provisional ballots left to count, and the rest come from other parts of the state where McCormick was more successful. So far, Casey has won the around 7,700 provisional ballots counted so far by about 54% to 46%. Even if he maintains this margin, he will not come out ahead of McCormick, the Journal pointed out. However, Democrats may be gunning for an automatic recount. Right now, McCormick’s margin of victory stands around .06%, but if it falls below 0.5%, it would trigger an automatic recount under state law. If a recount happens, Marc Elias, an elections lawyer for the Democratic Party, may try to challenge certain ballots cast for McCormick or even search for more ballots cast for Casey, the Journal predicted. Elias has managed to do this before. In the 2008 Minnesota Senate race, Elias convinced a judge to count previously rejected ballots for Al Franken and overturn the lead of the Republican challenger. On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer showed his hand when he barred McCormick from attending Senate orientation this week, indicating he does not yet consider McCormick the winner. The move triggered outrage from Republican senators. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “What happened to all the demands that our leaders accept the outcome of the elections?” Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) posted Sunday on social media. “The idea that Schumer would not allow him to participate in Senate orientation is beyond unacceptable,” Senator John Thune (R-SD), the Senate minority whip, posted Sunday. “The voters of Pennsylvania have spoken. Looking forward to having Dave’s strong voice in the Senate Republican Conference,” Thune said. Thune is in the running for Senate Majority Leader, along with Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). Republicans plan to vote Wednesday on who will take over that role in January. The Journal said it would “await the outraged editorials denouncing this threat to democracy.” “Did someone say ‘election denial?'” the paper said. “Mathematically, there’s no path for Senator Casey to win,” McCormick said Sunday on Fox News, adding, “Ultimately, Senator Casey’s going to have to decide when he’s willing to acknowledge that.”

Conservatives Praise Trump’s Pick For Border Czar

Numerous Republican politicians and conservative media figures praised President-elect Donald Trump’s “border czar” pick on Monday. Trump announced in a post on social media late Sunday night that he selected his former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Tom Homan, to be the new border czar. “I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (‘The Border Czar’), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security,” Trump said in a statement. “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders,” he continued. “Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to the pick: “Going from Kamala Harris as ‘border czar’ to Tom Homan should be in the dictionary as a textbook example of an ‘upgrade.'” “Congratulations, @RealTomHoman you are a wonderful choice,” said Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Commentator Mark Levin posted on X: “Tom Homan is a great patriot, and he will do a terrific job as Border Czar. Congratulations to Tom.” CNN political commentator Scott Jennings noted that the pick signaled that Trump was “dead serious on deportations.” “Tom Homan as border czar,” wrote Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro. “Still not tired of the winning.” Professor Gad Saad said that the pick was a “fantastic choice” and called Homan a “honey badger,” a recognition of his tenacity. President Trump naming Tom Homan as border czar signals that he’s dead serious on deportations. And he should be – it’s overwhelmingly popular & is only being treated as controversial by the hysterical. pic.twitter.com/uhAYD89etg — Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsKY) November 11, 2024 Homan made a name for himself during the first Trump administration after being appointed acting director of ICE and immediately began ramping up deportations. In the first three months of Trump’s first term and under Homan’s leadership, ICE arrested more than 41,000 illegal immigrants, which was a 38% increase over the same period from the year before. Homan impressed Trump as acting director, and the president tapped him to lead ICE permanently, but in April 2018, Homan announced that he was retiring over “family and personal considerations.”

Will The Democrats Learn From This Election?

The Democrat’s intersectional caucus has crumbled. Amongst other things, last week’s election proved that what is popular on Harvard Yard and at Columbia is not so with the majority of Americans. The progressive Left, which has firmly taken control of large swathes of the Democratic Party, has been advancing an ideology over the past several years that seeks to dismantle American society, government, exceptionalism, and progress on critical social issues. In the name of “equity,” they called to defund the police, globalize the intifada, tear down monuments to historical American figures, and propagate the absurd notion that gender is a social construct — ignoring science and reality in the process. They have divided us by race and religion under the guise of “anti-racism.” They’ve attacked capitalism and the Constitution, and condemned the very society that granted them the freedoms to voice these radical claims. They insist on focusing on new “realities” rather than kitchen table issues, such as the economy and public safety. Of course, over the past several years any pushback against this ideology was met with accusations of racism, fascism or the like. If you hesitate to conform, and you’re accused of “microaggressions.” If you ask questions, you must be a conspiracy theorist. If you’re white, you’re automatically labeled “privileged” and part of the problem. If you fail to bow to the religion of wokeism, and you’re painted as a societal threat. And if you follow the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, you’re dismissed as a “Bible thumper.” They call it “postmodernism.” They call it “intersectionality.” They call it “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” But in truth, it is none of these things. It is a philosophy that, if fully implemented, will destroy America. Thankfully, this political ideology was soundly rejected by Americans on November 5.  Over 73 million voters — across all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds — said no. It was a resounding message; or, it should be. The GOP is poised to control the White House, the Senate, and, in all likelihood, the House. Every state in the union, except Utah and Washington, saw significant Republican gains. Hispanics, Blacks, Arabs, Jews, men, and (most) women alike shifted decisively toward Trump and the GOP, down-ballot. Americans were not fooled. They rejected the narrative pushed by Kamala Harris, Democratic leadership, and the mainstream media. Americans are clearly tired of hearing the media and Democrats downplay the consequences of open borders, sky-high inflation, and rising crime in our streets. They rejected the absurd labels that President Trump is a Nazi, a fascist, a sexist, a dictator, and a criminal. They saw through the media’s and celebrity elite’s baseless attacks and voted for what matters to them the most by voting for President Trump. With this historical shift, the Republican party has an opportunity to cement real political change in our nation. However, the only manner to accomplish this is to deliver. The President and Congress must move quickly to close the border, to open up energy markets, to reestablish American military deterrence around the world, to remove any federal regulatory blockade which stifles economic growth, and to bring prosperity and security back to the streets of our nation. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ The Democrats on the other hand face two choices. The first is to continue down the path that brought them to their biggest defeat in recent history. Many in the media have already taken this path, blaming everyone but the Democrats for their own loss. Claims that racism and sexism fueled Harris’ loss ironically reveals a bigotry of the out-of-touch elite toward the rest of America. The disconnect is as bewildering as it is offensive. If Democrats continue to simply blame the voters, they will only lose more ground across our great nation, which will continue to turn more and more red. The second option is for Democrats to publicly acknowledge the reality that the American people are not going to march towards socialism, wokeism and a DEI-dominated society. After admitting this error, the Democrats would need to recalibrate their policies on the issues that are core to most Americans: security, a strong economy and the preservation of freedom — not bizarre pronouns and critical race theory. However, in the week or so that has passed since the election, the Democrat leadership and the mainstream media alike appear to have learned nothing. It continues to be more of the same. With few exceptions, Democrats continue to go down the path which led them to last week’s colossal defeat. If this continues to be the case, the “red wave” that was the 2024 election will last several election cycles. Honestly, I for one, couldn’t be more thrilled. * * * Gabriel Groisman is a Miami-based government affairs consultant, attorney, the former Mayor of Bal Harbour, and host of the Standpoint with Gabe Groisman podcast. Costco Recalls 80,000 Pounds Of Butter. You’ll Never Guess Why.

Costco Recalls 80,000 Pounds Of Butter. You’ll Never Guess Why.

Retail giant Costco has recalled close to 80,000 pounds of butter due to an error on the packaging. The FDA sent out an initial recall for 79,200 pounds of both unsalted and salted Kirkland Signature Sweet Cream Butter in October due to the label failing to say the product “contains milk.”  Packages for both variations include “cream” on the ingredients list, but that was not enough to avoid a recall. Costco created the Kirkland Signature line in 1995. On November 7, the FDA classified the recall as Class II, which is “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” per the administration’s website. Reactions on social media were filled with mockery. “80,000 pounds of Costco butter was just recalled, because the label doesn’t say that it contains milk. It’s butter. News articles are telling people how they can return, or safely dispose of, the butter. It’s butter,” one popular X reaction said.  MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ Another commenter quipped, “Can y’all please safely dispose of it at my house? I have a lot of holiday baking to do.” “But if the butter is mislabeled, consumers would literally be spreading misinformation—all over their toast, bagels, pancakes, baked potatoes, muffins—it’s too horrific to think about,” another joking response said. Despite all the mockery, some social media users agreed with the recall. “The laws exist to make sure that any food that contains a recognized allergen is labeled as such. Yeah in this case it seems silly, but how do you codify ‘you must label food that contains allergens, unless posters on Twitter decide that it’s obvious enough on its own’?” one person wrote. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) lists milk as one of the main foods that “account for most serious allergic reactions in the United States.”

This Veterans Day, Choose Life

This Veterans Day, Choose Life

For those who have either fought in war, or, as in my case, have had loved ones who have, Veterans Day is not just a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that survivors of the battlefield — the most taxing and traumatic of any environment — have given so much of themselves to defend the liberties we all too often take for granted. During an election year, Veterans Day takes on special significance. When we step into the voting booth and draw the curtain, we are acting out the answer to a fundamental question so many of those returning home from duty must ask themselves: “What, exactly, did I fight for?” The answer is they fight so their fellow Americans are free to choose their leaders and to decide their own fate. It is cliché, but veterans have, indeed, fought for our most basic freedoms, and to exercise our God-given rights without fear of the midnight pounding on the door. At times, as in my father’s case, our troops have fought not for our freedom per se, but those of others. Entire nations like South Korea, as well as post-war Western Europe, owe American veterans a debt that can never be fully repaid. Many of the men and women would return home maimed, or psychologically broken. Yet, the sublimity of their sacrifice remains. Unfortunately, so do the wounds, the memories, the terrors. My Marine dad was a rare breed. Unlike many combat veterans, my father would talk about it. I gave him a sounding board, a release valve for the memories that I now understand were assaulting him for three decades since leaving the horrors of Korea behind. He was wounded by Chinese mortars and almost lost his foot. He would tell stories of how the Chinese attacked in human waves, blowing bugles and clanging gongs; how the enemy once splayed the body of a dead Marine across barbed wire between the lines, daring his men to come get their comrade. Marine tradition is to not leave the dead behind, if at all possible. They did retrieve the body. He would share how the North Koreans taught kids to throw grenades at them, and how they’d have to shoot them down; Or how he once identified a man in his platoon by his head, which the aid station attendees in a moment of macabre caprice had laid on the man’s chest. No doubt what 2nd Lt. John M. Schaeffer, First Marine Division experienced in Korea were the same feelings, if under different circumstances and topographies, of every veteran on every battlefield. The blood, the shrieks, the pleas for water, the crying out for mothers, and the gore are universal no matter what side the combatants find themselves on. Indeed, Wellington famously said, “Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won.” 2nd Lt. John M. Schaeffer, First Marine Division, with Purple Heart. Credit: Brad Schaeffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), called “shell shock” in the First World War, and “battle fatigue” in the Second, is another consequence of the battlefield. As with any disorder of the mind, studies vary and exact figures are hard to come by as it manifests in so many different ways and to various degrees. One study by the National Library of Medicine places combat-related PTSD in U.S. combat veterans to range from about 2–17%; and a lifetime prevalence of about 6–31%. These are broad ranges. And the low estimates seem just that. Even if we split the difference in a non-scientific way, almost one-in-five veterans are currently suffering from some form of PTSD. When you consider that 16.2 million veterans will be the subject of this month’s annual day of remembrance, then we may have some 3 million-plus veterans in need of counseling or medication/treatment out there. These are not just statistics. These numbers represent veterans, our champions on the field of conflict, who struggle every day just to live normal lives while not dwelling too much upon all they have seen. But sometimes the horrors of battle can never be unseen. I remember looking at my dad and thinking: Do the ghosts return when you lie in bed at night? Can you compartmentalize it? How do you handle it? Turns out, he couldn’t. After thirty years, he could no longer drink or talk away the war. The memories were assaulting him like those mass waves of Chinese soldiers long ago. His defenses crumbled. He was not alone. In 1990-2010 the national suicide rate among American males was 19.4 per 100,000, and 4.9 per 100,000 for females. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, however, in the same time period the ratios for veterans were double for men at 38.3 per 100,000 and almost triple for women at 12.8 per 100,000. Clearly, veterans are a high-risk group, and we must be vigilant and watch for suicidal ideations among those we love who wore the uniform. Like many mental illnesses, PTSD is insidious. It comes from within. How do you fight an illness in which your thoughts are the illness? People who’ve never suffered the midnight of clinical depression, PTSD, or other mental illnesses, have difficulty grasping that you cannot reason your way back into the happy dawn. You can’t just “snap out of it.” You may tell yourself, “Nothing warrants these terrible thoughts.” You know it’s irrational and it doesn’t matter. That’s what depression is. It’s knowing you shouldn’t feel this way, but feel it anyway. And that doesn’t even include a depression caused by something you saw or, worse, something you did. Under normal circumstances, far from the chaos and adrenaline of a battlefield, you would never encounter the raw emotion and bloodlust of war. You would be repulsed by your actions. How could I, for example, who was only 16 when my father eventually took his life, possibly relate to a man who fought Chinese troops armed with spades, picks, and even his bare hands as well as bullets and bayonets, in the middle of the night in minus twenty-degree weather under the eerie luminescence of star shells? How can anyone but other veterans truly relate to a combat experience? It’s tragic, but if my veteran father were alive today, he would have more support, both within his own veterans community and the public at large. And certainly access to more effective medications, without any taboo. But we were just starting to recognize veterans’ emotional as well as physical anguish. Vietnam was barely decades in the past. And as for Korea? It was called “the Forgotten War” for a reason. Forgetting the war and getting on with their lives was what Korea’s veterans were supposed to do. But Dad couldn’t. And that really is the point. This Veterans Day, let’s take time out of our busy day to pause and reflect and pray for all the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who have seen the worst of humanity up close and personal, to spare us the horrors of what they took upon themselves in our stead. As the saying goes, “Free people sleep peaceably in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.” My father was just such a rough man. And, like so many vets today, he did unspeakable violence on our behalf. But that violence comes with a cost that we may not always appreciate or even see, let alone understand. My thoughts this Veterans Day travel to our warriors returning home from their own combat zones, with their own demons picking away at their souls. How do they get through the black nights, with their spouses sleeping quietly next to them, their children dreaming in their beds, blissfully unaware of the struggle of the mind taking place in the darkness down the hall? In July 1983, 30 years almost to the day after the last shot of the Korean War was fired, my father became another casualty of that war. Yet from his suffering, I have learned a vital lesson that I hope I can impart to any veteran reading this who may feel like he or she is losing the fight with PTSD: Don’t let the demons win. We’ll help you. Just please choose life. To the families of veterans, you must be forceful in offering your help, your support, and love. Warriors are a stubborn and proud lot. And to all the veterans now engaged in their final tour of duty, this time in the combat zone of the spirit, I implore you. Choose life. Get help if you need it. It is there for you. Remember you are not forgotten. We owe our freedom, like the freedoms we all exercised on November 5, to you. And, in return, you are unconditionally loved and appreciated by family, friends, and your nation. So always choose life. It is worth living. * * * If you are having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or go to SpeakingOfSuicide.com/resources for a list of additional resources. * * * Brad Schaeffer is a fund manager and author of three books. Border Patrol Morale ‘Through The Roof’ After Trump’s Victory, Union President Says

Morale among U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents has skyrocketed following Donald Trump’s landslide election victory last week, according to National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez. Trump made illegal immigration and border security central parts of his 2024 platform, promising to finish his southern border wall and conduct the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. Perez told Fox News in an interview on Monday that “morale is through the roof” among Border Patrol agents, adding, “We’ve received hundreds of calls, texts, emails, just saying how happy the agents are.” “There are a lot of agents that had originally said that they would retire if President Trump did not win. And now those same agents are saying they’re going to hold back on their retirement because they want to serve under this administration again, because they know exactly how it was during this first administration, and they know this one’s going to be even better,” he continued. The National Border Patrol Council, which represents around 16,000 members, endorsed Trump’s White House bid in October, with Perez warning, “If we allow Border Czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country, is going to go to hell. The untold millions of people, unvetted, who she has allowed into this country that are committing murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries, and every other crime will continue to put our country in peril.” The Biden administration’s border policies led to around 10 million encounters along the southern border in less than four years. Numerous agents said they would resign if Vice President Kamala Harris won the election, with some describing working under the Biden-Harris administration as “four years in hell.” Perez added that with another Trump presidency, CBP will likely have a larger pool of “recruits to choose from.” MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ NOW STREAMING ON DAILYWIRE+ “We’ve always had a recruiting problem. And so right now, with President Trump coming into office, a lot of people are going to want to do this job,” he said. “A lot of people have shown interest previously, but they were hesitant to apply and work for the previous administration. So under Trump, we’re going to have a good amount of recruits to choose from.” Trump has already taken action on preparing to carry out his immigration agenda, tapping Tom Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to serve as the new “Border Czar.” Homan has promised to carry out Trump’s large-scale deportation operation. “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders,” Trump wrote. “Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long awaited for, job.”
