Trump Should Learn From Watergate

Trump Should Learn From Watergate

Watergate was a vivid and compelling drama for most Americans.  But after a half-century of study‚ it is clear that no liberal Democrat would have been driven from the White House under the same circumstances. It is also clear that the biased‚ aggressive‚ and one-sided assault by parts of the executive‚ legislative‚ and judicial branches against President Richard Nixon bears striking similarities to the current war against President Donald Trump. (READ MORE: There Is Insanity — But There Is Also Love) As we read today about various federal agencies — including the FBI and the CIA — trying to destroy Trump‚ first as a candidate and then as president‚ it is worth remembering that the most famous Watergate character‚ Deep Throat‚ was the third-ranking person at the FBI. He was leaking to two Washington Post reporters anonymously because he was angry that Nixon had not chosen him to lead the bureau. Was Watergate a ‘National Nightmare’ After All? Consider what happened in 1973 and 1974. Nixon was the decisive winner of the 1972 presidential election — with 96.7 percent of the electoral votes and 60.7 percent of the popular vote. He was then driven from office. How could a man who carried 49 states (losing only in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia) be forced from the office to which most of the American people elected him? Almost no one seriously asked that question at the time. We were made to believe Watergate was the equivalent of a Greek tragedy. Nixon’s hubris led to nemesis. His fall was supposedly a consequence of some fundamental violation of principles and personal failings. On Aug. 9‚ 1974‚ when President Gerald Ford was sworn in to replace President Nixon‚ he captured the national mood of the moment: “My fellow Americans‚ our long national nightmare is over. Our Constitution works; our great Republic is a government of laws and not of men. Here the people rule.” (READ MORE: The Bad Boys: Hunter Biden vs. John Dean) Ford’s version of Watergate was simply false. There was no national nightmare. There was no question about the Constitution working. Everyone — including Nixon — believed that we had a government of laws. Nixon proved this when he accepted defeat in 1960‚ graciously accepted defeat in California’s gubernatorial election in 1962‚ and then resigned from the presidency rather than go through a long drawn-out impeachment fight. He also believed that “here the people rule.” I Too Believed in the ‘National Nightmare’ It was only when I began reflecting on the experience of the ongoing eight-year war against Trump that I began to rethink what I thought I learned about Watergate. As I wrote in March to the Majority‚ I was there at the time. I was a first-time candidate in Congress who announced my bid before Watergate became so poisonous for Republicans that it made victory in 1974 incredibly unlikely. Like many Americans‚ I accepted the media version of what was happening. As Howell Raines wrote in the Atlanta Constitution on May 31‚ 1973: Watergate will not be mentioned in the new state Republican platform‚ but platform drafter Newt Gingrich will push for a “political integrity” plank and use it to whip the Democrats for alleged vote-stealing. Gingrich‚ interim chairman of the 16-member committee which will write the platform proposals to go before Saturday’s convention session at Jekyll Island‚ believes that by facing the integrity issue state Republicans have a chance to wring some advantage from Watergate. This was far from a unanimous view in the Georgia GOP in 1973. After all‚ in Georgia President Nixon had received 75.04 percent of the 1972 vote (881‚496 votes). George McGovern got 24.65 percent (289‚529 votes). I served as chairman of Nixon’s re-elect committee in the Sixth District of Georgia‚ and I knew how much support he had. Some of my friends rejected the idea of even mentioning Watergate. As Raines reported:  Not everyone shares Gingrich’s enthusiasm for approaching Watergate even indirectly. Former GOP gubernatorial candidate Hal Suit says he would have to inspect closely the language of any integrity plank. Party Chairman Bob Shaw believes the 1‚500-delegate convention is more likely to deliver a vote of ‘support and appreciation’ of the President. Gingrich‚ a teacher at West Georgia College in Carrollton‚ says‚ however‚ that “Watergate is too big an issue to ignore. I think no group has been more stunned than Republicans that really do believe in law and order.” Gingrich’s proposal‚ which he emphasizes is subject to his committee’s vote‚ is to bring up the integrity plank and then turn it on the Democrats.  I think it will go on to mention problems in this state like vote theft. My guess is that a Republican in this state must get 54 percent to win. We believe a Republican loses 4 percent between voting and counting. A year later‚ on July 5‚ 1974‚ David Broder wrote in the Washington Post that “Gingrich says his once strongly pro-Nixon Georgia voters ‘know it’s over’ for the President‚ and he spends most of his time voicing their frustration with ‘a Congress that will not act on impeachment or anything else.’” Clearly‚ I shared the same general view of Watergate as most Americans at the time. The Media’s Role in Watergate It was hard to not believe the “bad Nixon” theory. Congressional hearings were relentlessly focused on looking for smoking guns. They had a presumption of guilt built into them. Sen. Howard Baker‚ the ranking Republican on the Senate committee came up with the now-famous formula: “What did the President know‚ and when did he know it?” The structure of the question implies there was something dangerous or illegal that Nixon did or knew about. It set up a psychology of presumed guilt. (READ MORE: Henry Kissinger‚ RIP) The sheer scale of the effort to get Nixon was daunting. The investigative arm of the executive branch created a special task force. A grand jury was empaneled. A federal judge decided to make his career by maximizing the persecution of the Nixon team. The District of Colombia venue was almost as anti-Republican in 1972 as it is today (78.1 percent voted for McGovern versus 21.56 percent for Nixon). It was practically impossible for any Nixon appointee to have a jury that was not overwhelmingly hostile. (The same is even more true today. In 2020‚ Trump won just 5.4 percent of the vote in Washington‚ D.C.) The natural hostility of the D.C. venue was amplified by the constant bombardment from the Washington Post and the rest of the media. In many ways‚ Watergate was the crisis in which major newsrooms began to assume the power to define what was happening — and what would be permitted to happen. The overwhelmingly liberal and anti-Nixon news media reinforced the sense that we were on the edge of a national disaster from which we had to be saved. In fact‚ in the media mythology‚ a large part of that salvation came from two young reporters‚ Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein — and their paper‚ the Washington Post. When you watch All the President’s Men and see Robert Redford as Woodward‚ Dustin Hoffman as Bernstein‚ Jason Robards as the editor Ben Bradlee‚ and Hal Holbrook as Deep Throat‚ you are drawn into the romanticized version of how it all happened. The glamour of the book and movie‚ the thrilling sense that a courageous newspaper had stopped a potentially dangerous leader‚ and the drama and mystery of late-night meetings in garages‚ all gave every would-be American journalist a new sense of self-importance. Seeing the News as ‘Something to Be Made’ Symbiotic patterns in the liberal establishment began to solidify and emerge. Joe Califano‚ President Lyndon Johnson’s special assistant for domestic affairs (who helped build the Great Society bureaucratic structure) was the attorney for the Democratic National Committee and the Washington Post. It made for great efficiency in destroying President Nixon. The news was morphing from something to be covered into something to be made. Woodward and Bernstein spawned two generations of reporter-crusaders who had to be anti-authority‚ anti-government‚ and anti-conservative to be accepted into the model newsroom that grew out of the Watergate experience. The Washington press corps rapidly developed a symbiotic relationship with the bureaucracies‚ lobbyists‚ and politicians it was supposed to be covering. Selective leaks‚ slanted information‚ and hit pieces began to be the currency of the news media realm. As long as the targets were conservative or Republican‚ they were fair game. Any serious questioning or challenging of this new journalism and its alliances had to be stopped. Challenging the new media ethos was defined as an assault on freedom of the press — and therefore on democracy itself.  For half a century‚ in this environment‚ it seemed absurd to challenge the perceived wisdom of Watergate as a morality play. Nixon was a perpetrator of something terrible‚ and the Congress and judiciary were honest and courageous allies of the media who‚ together‚ saved the nation.  After the relentless corruption of the bureaucracy‚ the media‚ and the justice system in their allied war against Trump‚ the case can be made that Ford’s “national nightmare” was exactly backward. The real violation of our constitutional system came from the forces who set out to destroy a president who had carried 49 states and received 60.7 percent of the vote. That achievement left the activist feeling vindicated and morally superior. When combined with their success in the Ford administration to undermine and destroy the South Vietnamese government (and guarantee a North Vietnamese Communist victory) the alliance between Washington’s elite against the American people grew stronger‚ bolder‚ and more arrogant.  The network of elite universities‚ senior bureaucrats‚ key elements of the news media‚ and activists in the Justice Department and judicial system mobilized to drive Nixon out of office. It then grew for decades — with constant efforts to reinforce and protect its members in every institution. Given what we have learned in recent years‚ it is worthwhile to revisit Watergate in detail. Many of the same tools‚ networks‚ and‚ in some cases‚ people that drove Nixon from office are still there.  The same elites have an even more aggressive‚ powerful‚ and arrogant assumption that they have the right to lie‚ redefine the truth‚ and protect themselves over the will of the American people. Look at the total efforts to destroy Trump and consider how far they’ve come since Nixon and Watergate. Does Economic Recession Loom in Our Future?

The first 2024 Wall Street Journal front page headline set a euphoric economic outlook for the coming new year: “Optimism Flows on Wall Street‚ Fueled by Economy‚ Rise of AI.” With the “S&;P 500 within 0.6% of a record high‚” what could go wrong? Moderating that outlook‚ one remembers Wall Street missed inflation in 2022 and was caught by surprise when the Federal Reserve increased interest rates. It was shocking how long it took the Fed and U.S. Treasury leaders to discover the fiscal crisis back then. They even told us not to worry about inflation — until they couldn’t ignore it any longer and finally acted. (READ MORE: The Tyranny of the Phillips Curve) The optimists argue that the economy is still creating new jobs‚ even if at a slower pace. But another headline emphasized that businesses that were doing well did so more by cutting expenses than by producing new products or services. Many firms did institute real reforms‚ but it turns out that the expectation for a positive economic outlook was mostly a result of COVID government money and the move away from in-office work‚ which revealed that many unnecessary services could be cut. Kimberly-Clark eliminated 70 percent of its paper and tissue products and Yankee Candle reduced from 200 product lines to 150. Another headline emphasized “bright spots‚“ like manufacturing construction which rose by 40 percent in 2022 and 72 percent into 2023. But the article concluded that manufacturing growth was concentrated in only a few areas‚ primarily “high-tech‚” with most manufacturing in a “slump.” Still‚ a survey of all manufacturers predicted 5.6 percent growth in 2024‚ up from 0.9 last year. The Economy Is Growing In All the Wrong Places Total national job employment did increase; but where? The Bureau of Labor Statistics “Current Employment Statistics Net Employment Change” for the last year shows substantial growth in government employment‚ health care‚ education‚ and social assistance — all highly government-dependent sectors.  The problem with government money is that‚ after an impressive run-up at the beginning‚ things do not seem to work over the long run. President Joe Biden told unions this summer that he was building American manufacturing to become the world leader with one grant alone providing $39 billion to do the job. (READ MORE: The Latest Union Strike Might Turn Workers Red) But this money went to a very small subset of semiconductor and other high-tech businesses representing merely 1.9 percent of industrial production. Even there‚ first came the government billions‚ then delays in constructing high-tech buildings and materials‚ and then the difficulties in making and selling the new manufactured products.  EVs were another big government manufacturing winner‚ with $7‚500 in government subsidies for individual car sales. But the Wall Street Journal noted that the total automobile business was in the “longest slump in two decades.” The bottom line for manufacturing activity overall was that it had still weakened for 13 straight months‚ the longest since 2002. Days later‚ the Journal reported manufacturing had declined in December. The underlying problem is that even the Feds are running out of money. The official debt is impressive enough at $34 trillion compared to the annual total U.S. GNP of $27 trillion. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) notes that these figures do not include foreign exchange swaps‚ which were only $37 trillion in 2007. Swaps dollar debt today is double the U.S. at $65 trillion‚ mostly by the U.S. Yes‚ the Fed can print more but how far can that go? The U.S. is Losing Its Financial Dominance The U.S. held 40 percent of world GDP wealth in 1960 but holds just 24 percent today. Going off the gold standard in 1971 allowed the U.S. to dominate the world economy with its fiat dollar system‚ but that dominance is weakening. Brazil and China have agreed to settle their trade balances in their currencies rather than U.S. dollars. India and Malaysia agreed to switch to the rupee in their joint trade. India announced that Russia‚ Sri Lanka‚ Bangladesh‚ and Mauritius have been considering joint trade in rupees. France is discussing settling some trade in Chinese yuan. This movement is still rather small but the desire to escape is large. (READ MORE: Poor‚ Unloved Dirty Joe) There is even discussion around the globe about going back to gold or another independent measure of value. The financial experts doing the trading and the governments managing the fiat currency still insist that all is well. However‚ as independent trader George Gilder revealed‚ the Bureau of Industry and Security estimated that the foreign spot and trade market generated “a flow of some $7.6 trillion a day‚ more than a third of all US annual GDP every twenty-four hours‚” representing “$5.1 trillion a day‚ a billion dollars every second.” A prudent person would note with Gilder that ten “leviathan” banks in Western countries transacted 77 percent of this arbitrage business — and the Fed‚ Treasury‚ and president managing it all have an interest in promoting the narrative that all is well. It only took a week for the WSJ business section headline to become “Stock Forecasters on Edge Over Weak Start‚” which has been the dominant theme ever since. And serious independent economy analysts were still predicting a recession in 2024‚ as they have been doing for over a year. Prepare. The real facts say a recession is still in your future.  Donald Devine is a Senior Scholar at the Fund for American Studies in Washington‚ D.C. He served as President Ronald Reagan’s civil service director during the president’s first term in office. A former professor‚ he is the author of 11 books‚ including his most recent‚ The Enduring Tension: Capitalism and the Moral Order‚ and Ronald Reagan’s Enduring Principles — and is a frequent contributor to The American Spectator. Iowa Ignites the Race for the GOP’s 1‚215

This is being written before the Iowa votes are in. But one thing is certain. The race for 1‚215 delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention is officially now on. READ MORE: The 1972 Insurrection: When the Left Took Over Iowa has gotten its quadrennial tons of attention‚ with New Hampshire taking its turn in a week on Tuesday‚ Jan. 23. But with the race for some or all of Iowa’s 40 delegates presumably settled‚ the march is on to get the 1‚215 that will make that person the official nominee of the party at its 2024 convention when it gathers in Milwaukee‚ Wisconsin‚ from July 15–18. Once upon a time‚ conventions for both parties were central to a presidential race. For vivid stories of dramatic political lore‚ the stories of these conventions can’t be beat. I’ve had the good fortune to attend my share. Memorably‚ that includes attending the 1976 GOP Convention in Kansas City for the classic showdown between incumbent President Gerald Ford and his challenger‚ former California Gov. Ronald Reagan. The two challengers arrived at the Kansas City convention with Ford ahead of Reagan in primary wins — but not having the then-required 1‚130 delegates that were necessary to clinch the nomination. The key involved the presumably pro-Reagan Mississippi delegation. As Reagan biographer Craig Shirley recounted in his tale of the drama at convention in his book Reagan’s Revolution: The Untold Story of the Campaign That Started It All:  The New York Times reported: “In Mississippi‚ for example‚ the challenger [Reagan] is thought to have overwhelming support among 30 delegates who have not yet declared their preferences. Clarke E. Reed‚ the State Party Chairman‚ said it was ‘very likely’ that Mississippi would adopt an informal unit rule as it had in the past‚ and thus give all of its convention votes to Mr. Reagan.” And then. And then the moment came to vote on the convention floor. In an upset‚ all centered on Mississippi and its presumed Reagan-supporting delegation‚ Shirley writes: Mississippi’s delegation‚ barely on speaking terms with each other‚ cast sixteen of its thirty votes for Ford. John Hart of NBC described the delegation as being in “intensive care.” They had finally dissolved their unit rule‚ but [Reagan supporter Billy] Mounger wanted everybody’s apostasy on record as having voted against Reagan so they could face the music when they went home. It was sheer drama‚ parts of it played out on the floor in front of the ever-present television cameras. But‚ if nothing else‚ it illustrated just how important keeping track of every individual delegate was. Here we are‚ a full 48 years later‚ and it is safe to say that nothing has changed. Every single delegate to this 2024 convention is important — and‚ as of the results of the Iowa caucuses‚ the counting of delegates and keeping track of who is ahead in the race for 1‚215 has begun. Will it go back and forth? Or will the count quickly turn into a blowout as the primaries march on — and on and on. One suspects that there will be no dramatic 1976-style convention floor showdown in 2024 Milwaukee. In poll after poll‚ whether national or state‚ former President Donald Trump leads by a lot‚ which was decidedly not the case for Ford or Reagan in 1976. The bottom line? Get out your calculator and keep tabs on exactly who has how many delegates. The march to 1‚215 has begun. Ram Channels Cher — But Not for Long

What if you could turn back time — to 2008 — and buy a brand-new half-ton truck like they used to make them? One without the “assistance” and other “technologies” that come standard with the new ones‚ like it or not — but with a standard 8-foot bed that’s increasingly hard to get … and for thousands less than what they’re selling the new double-and-crew cab short-bed trucks for today? The very thought of it almost makes you want to dance around a battleship turret‚ doesn’t it? READ MORE from Eric Peters: Complicit Car Media Heralds ‘Revolutionary’ New Electric Vehicle Better to get out your checkbook — because for a time‚ you can buy a brand-new 2008 Ram 1500 Classic with a regular cab with an 8-foot bed and a standard 3.6-liter V6 without “eTorque technology” for $32‚345. “Classic” meaning the previous-generation Ram that was “all new” back in 2008 and hasn’t been changed much since then. As opposed to a brand-new current-generation 2024 Ram quad cab with a short bed (and standard “eTorque  technology”) for $38‚570. This “eTorque technology” refers to an iteration of the automatic stop-start (or ASS) “technology‚” which practically every new vehicle now comes standard with‚ that shuts off the engine every time the vehicle isn’t moving — in order to staunch the “emission” of the dreaded carbon dioxide. The gas that plants metabolize into the oxygen we breathe. In the new Ram‚ this takes the form of a 48-volt electric system that powers a high-torque belt-drive starter system. It restarts the engine faster than less “advanced” versions of ASS “technology.” But it does so at the cost of a 48-volt electric system‚ the belt-drive starter system‚ and a large (secondary) EV-style lithium-ion battery that will have to be replaced at your expense at some point down the road. And that is the main reason why a new 2024 Ram 1500 that isn’t Classic costs $38‚570 to buy — or $6‚225 more than a brand-new Ram Classic that will never need a new lithium-ion battery. That has an engine that stays running until you turn it off. That comes standard with an 8-foot rather than a short bed — and the regular cab you can’t get anymore in a new 2024 Ram 1500. How about a V8-powered ’08 Ram 1500 regular cab with an 8-foot bed — also without “eTorque technology” — for $36‚335? That’s the price of a ’24 Ram Classic so configured. As opposed to $41‚755 — which is the cost of a new Ram 1500 quad cab with the V8 (and all the latest “technology” you may want no part of). You can save yourself $5‚440 by going Classic — and save yourself having to deal with all the latest “technology‚” too. This is what many truck buyers want — in part because it is what many truck buyers can afford. The new Ram 1500 that isn’t Classic is a truck many can no longer afford — and don’t want‚ besides. This includes people who do not want a four-door/short-bed truck‚ which may be more passenger friendly but isn’t as work friendly. The regular cab Classic with an 8-foot bed is configured the way full-size trucks used to be — when trucks were not yet substitutes for the full-size cars that government regs de facto forced off the road. The italics to emphasize the evil subtlety of the method. No law was ever passed by Congress forbidding the manufacture or sale of the full-size sedans (and wagons) that were once even more popular than full-size trucks are today. Instead‚ regs were promulgated by the bureaucratic apparat-styled EPA requiring cars to deliver ever-higher MPGs‚ irrespective of the cost — including the cost of such vehicles becoming almost-no-longer-available. The handful that still are all luxury-brand cars such as the Mercedes S-Class‚ Audi A8‚ and BMW 7 Series (and even these are only mid-sized sedans by the standards of the ’70s) that cost tens of thousands more than a full-sized truck. And they no longer come standard with a V8. The 2024 A8 no longer even offers one. And that is why people who need a full-size vehicle (with a V8) buy trucks today. But they are becoming unaffordable in their turn — as well as laden with “technology” people who buy trucks because they want a truck do not want. The “eTorque technology” that is now standard in the ’24 Ram 1500 is a prime example of this. It does not make the truck more suited for work — and it makes it both more expensive and almost certainly less long-term-reliable. These are not qualities that appeal to people who want a truck. The fascinating — the depressing — thing is that in order to be able to offer the attributes truck buyers want‚ Ram is obliged to sell an old truck as an end-run around the regs that have rendered the new truck less desirable to truck buyers than the new one. Let that sink in a minute. Has there ever been a case of the new being less desirable than the old? Well‚ yes — many such cases. For instance‚ people who wanted a muscle car in 1975 would have done a Cher if they could have bought a new 1970 model that year rather than a gelded-by-government ’75 model. But this is the first time a major manufacturer has brought back an old model to sell alongside the new. And that says a lot about the new — as well as the old. It’s also a good sign in that at least one manufacturer is still trying to sell what people want to buy — as opposed to passively purveying what the government is trying to force people to buy while pretending it isn’t doing exactly that. Better hurry‚ though. Time’s running short. Techno-Hell: ‘Natural’ Breastfeeding Condemned as ‘Ethically Problematic’

One would be hard-pressed to imagine a human activity more natural than a mother breastfeeding her infant‚ aside from‚ perhaps‚ eating‚ sleeping‚ and sex. The pharmaceutical front group American Academy of Pediatrics‚ which touts the virtues of transing children just as soon as it can wrangle their doomed genitals into its vice grip‚ disagrees.

Why is The WEF And Everyone Else Suddenly Talking About “Disease X”?

Why is The WEF And Everyone Else Suddenly Talking About “Disease X”?

Should all of this talk about “Disease X” alarm us?  According to the WHO‚ “Disease X” is an “unknown” hypothetical disease that could potentially kill millions upon millions of people.  It is supposed to be a purely theoretical disease‚ but by giving it a name they are basically inviting people to come up with all sorts of theories about it.  And that is especially true now that experts have speculated that it could cause 20 times more deaths than COVID did… Health leaders are meeting at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on Wednesday to discuss ways to prepare for ‘Disease X’ – a term coined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2018 to describe the unknown‚ hypothetical pathogen that could cause the next pandemic. According to some experts‚ Disease X could result in 20 times more fatalities than the coronavirus pandemic. It’s on the WHO’s shortlist of priority diseases‚ alongside viruses like SARS‚ Ebola and Zika. The WEF is certainly contributing to the hype around this hypothetical disease.  On Wednesday‚ there will be an entire session at the WEF’s yearly gathering that has been entitled “Preparing for Disease X”‚ and the description for that session ominously declares that “‘Disease X’ could result in 20 times more fatalities than the coronavirus pandemic”… The 2024 program is one for the ages. Attendees will watch Pfizer’s Albert Bourla and Open AI’s Sam Altman talk about Artificial Intelligence (AI). They’ll see depopulation advocate Bill “Bugman” Gates advancing the climate hoax. John Kerry will appear on four different stages to discuss the “energy transition.” We will also see Klaus Schwab sit down for a 1 on 1 with the second highest ranking Chinese government official. But one panel in particular sticks out: Preparing for Disease X. The topic is both incredibly vague and incredibly disturbing. The description for the discussion reads: “With fresh warnings from the World Health Organization that an unknown ‘Disease X’ could result in 20 times more fatalities than the coronavirus pandemic‚ what novel efforts are needed to prepare healthcare systems for the multiple challenges ahead?” Why give such a specific number? I don’t think that is helpful at all. Are they trying to cause panic? The list of speakers that are scheduled for this session includes the Director-General of the WHO… Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus‚ Director-General‚ WHO Shyam Bishen‚ Head‚ Centre for Health and Healthcare; WEF Geneva Roy Jakobs‚ President and Chief Executive Officer‚ Royal Philips Preetha Reddy‚ Executive Vice-Chairperson‚ Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd Nisia Trindade Lima‚ Minister of Health‚ Ministry of Health of Brazil Michel Demaré‚ Chair of the Board‚ AstraZeneca Plc Without a doubt‚ more global pandemics are coming. This is something that I have been relentlessly warning my readers about. But to give an “unknown” disease a specific name and to throw out numbers for potential death rates is only going to fuel unhealthy speculation. Of course it isn’t just the WHO and the WEF that are doing this. In June of last year‚ a bill known as the Disease X Act of 2023 was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. And it is being reported that a facility that has just been built in the UK will actually be performing “vaccine research” for Disease X… A new facility has been constructed in the UK that will conduct vaccine research for an unknown pathogen dubbed by the World Economic Forum (WHO) as “Disease X.” The new facility is located at the secretive Porten Down science and technology campus in Wiltshire‚ England‚ which is best known for chemical and biological warfare research. Experts at this facility are “preparing” for the emergence of a new “Disease X” virus‚ the BBC reported in August. I have no idea how they can conduct “research” on an entirely “unknown” disease‚ but apparently that is what they intend to do. Instead of chasing ghosts‚ perhaps our leaders could focus on fixing what is already broken. According to one recent study‚ almost one out of every five hospital deaths in the United States is caused by doctor error… Nearly one in five US hospital deaths are caused by misdiagnoses‚ research shows. A study published last month in the journal JAMA examined 2019 medical records from nearly 2‚500 patients in 29 different American hospitals. All of the patients were transported to the intensive care unit (ICU)‚ died while hospitalized‚ or both. Let me give you another example.  The makers of Ozempic are being sued by dozens of people including one woman “who will suffer diarrhea for the rest of her life”… A woman who will suffer diarrhea for the rest of her life after using Ozempic is among dozens of patients who are suing the maker of the blockbuster weight loss drug over claims it left them with crippling stomach paralysis‚ a DailyMail.com investigation reveals. Novo Nordisk‚ the maker of Ozempic and Wegovy‚ is facing lawsuits from patients across America who say they experienced extreme side effects which they were allegedly not warned about. Another woman literally vomited until her teeth fell out. We have very real problems that health officials could be focusing on. And we have very real diseases which have been spreading all over the country in recent months. But instead of addressing our pressing needs‚ many health officials would like us to look forward to a “Disease X” which may or may not materialize. Why? Once again‚ I certainly believe that we are living during a time when great pestilences will be very common. But I think that it would be wise to wait until they actually appear to give them names‚ and the sort of speculation that the WHO and the WEF are engaging in is not helpful at all. Michael’s new book entitled “Chaos” is now available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com‚ and you can check out his new Substack newsletter right here. About the Author: My name is Michael and my brand new book entitled “Chaos” is now available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com.  In addition to my new book I have written seven other books that are available on Amazon.com including “7 Year Apocalypse”‚ “Lost Prophecies Of The Future Of America”‚ “The Beginning Of The End”‚ and “Living A Life That Really Matters”. (#CommissionsEarned)  When you purchase any of these books you help to support the work that I am doing‚ and one way that you can really help is by sending copies as gifts to family and friends.  Time is short‚ and I need help getting these warnings into the hands of as many people as possible.  I have also started a brand new Substack newsletter‚ and I encourage you to subscribe so that you won’t miss any of my articles.  I have published thousands of articles on The Economic Collapse Blog‚ End Of The American Dream and The Most Important News‚ and the articles that I publish on those sites are republished on dozens of other prominent websites all over the globe.  I always freely and happily allow others to republish my articles on their own websites‚ but I also ask that they include this “About the Author” section with each article.  The material contained in this article is for general information purposes only‚ and readers should consult licensed professionals before making any legal‚ business‚ financial or health decisions.  I encourage you to follow me on social media on Facebook and Twitter‚ and any way that you can share these articles with others is definitely a great help.  These are such troubled times‚ and people need hope.  John 3:16 tells us about the hope that God has given us through Jesus Christ: “For God so loved the world‚ that he gave his only begotten Son‚ that whosoever believeth in him should not perish‚ but have everlasting life.”  If you have not already done so‚ I strongly urge you to invite Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior today.
