'She's not sure if she wants to be a girl': California school district pushes LGBT films on students as young as 11

A California school district allegedly created extensive lesson plans and documents encouraging the use of films‚ books‚ and events in order to push LGBT and transgender content.Documents reviewed by the Daily Wire‚ reportedly produced by the Hayward Unified School District‚ directed the district's approximately 19‚000 students to watch certain films and documentaries that include disturbing content. The document provides instructions on how to access the videos at a local library‚ complete with descriptions and the suggested school grade for viewers. The first suggestion is a 12-minute short called "I’m Just Anneke‚" recommended for grades 5 to 12. "Anneke is 12. She loves ice hockey and is a hardcore tomboy. Everybody who meets her assumes she's a boy‚ but she's not sure if she wants to be a girl‚ a boy‚ or something in-between when she grows up‚" the description read."Gender Matters: Transgender Youth" is recommended for grades 6 to 12 and is described as "short films about transgender and gender non-conforming young adults."Grades 8 to 12 are suggested to watch another film about how "gender messages shape young people’s daily decisions‚" as well as "the toll that deeply held stereotypes and rigid gender expectations have on all our lives."Another document from the district gave a template for a "Pride Flag Ceremony‚" which suggested several speakers. One speaker should "read aloud with LGBTQ identities represented" about a "local‚ impactful historical figure who is LGBTQ and their contributions to the community."The template also suggested bringing posters that were "created with an ally‚" to "hand out swag‚" and "take pictures together with allies at the flagpole."In case educators were not aware of what type of "swag" to hand out‚ the district provided suggestions for that as well. Along with ribbons‚ stickers‚ flags‚ and posters‚ “Protect trans kids shirt” was also a suggested item.In addition‚ a broader document called "LGBTQIA+‚ Gender‚ &; Pride in HUSD" contained over 90 different pro-LGBT resources‚ and justifications for the inclusion of such content. The document described the evolution of the programs for "safe school environments for all students including LGBTQIA+ youth" that spawned in the early 2000s and also noted which gay orientations to celebrate in a given month. The district's intentions were revealed rather simplistically under the heading "gender and identity.""Sexual orientation is an important topic for students to learn about."Like Blaze News? Trans Space Force lt. col. speaks on the future of the U.S. military: 'Inclusion is a national security imperative.'

The future is trans‚ according to Lt. Colonel Bree Fam‚ who was just featured at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit. “Inclusion is a national security imperative‚” Fam said. “We fight today‚ and we are going to fight in the future using brain power‚ and if that brain ([that’s] going to revolutionize the way we fight in space‚ we fight in cyber) just happens to be in a trans body‚ you should want them all serving alongside you…we need those perspectives‚ but it's inclusion that actually drives that.” However‚ if trans people “don't feel safe to speak up‚ if they don't feel safe to bring their full selves to work‚ you're not going to get the value of the diversity‚ so for us it is absolutely critical to drive our future success as an organization and potentially on the battlefield‚” Fam added. Pat Gray and Keith Malinak can’t help but laugh at the absurdity of Fam’s words. “I feel safe‚” mocks Keith. “You want all of these stable individuals involved in the biggest military decisions on this planet‚” adds Pat sarcastically. To hear Fam’s rainbow vision for the future of the U.S. military‚ watch the clip below. 'Nah. That’s not happening': Actor Jeffrey Wright says movie studio tried to force him not to say N-word

Actor Jeffrey Wright said that he refused to be censored in a film he acted in when a movie studio tried to convince him not to say the N-word and even opted to hire another actor to do a voice over for just a single word.Wright‚ who has starred in hit shows like "Westworld" and film franchises that include "The Batman" and James Bond‚ recalled working on the film "Ride with the Devil" that starred actor Tobey Maguire.Wright told Variety that he refused to censor his dialogue in one scene‚ which had him playing a former slave who was fighting for his freedom."In this scene in which he has this kind of the apex of his awakening and his need to emancipate himself‚ he says‚ ‘Being that man’s friend was no more than being his n*****. And I will never again be anyone’s n*****‚'" Wright recalled. "And it’s such a self-empowering statement and understanding of the word.""The studio at the time was so conflicted about how we market it. Ultimately‚ they decided we don’t need to market it at all‚" Wright added. "Then they had me come do the airplane version of the dialogue."An airplane version is described by How to Geek as a version of a movie meant to be shown on flight that has edited out any controversial or alarming content that viewers may not want to see on a plane. "References to terrorists‚ plane crashes‚ and the like" are usually cut‚ with airlines typically not showcasing movies where such themes are the focal point of the plot."They said‚ ‘The [N-word] here‚ we’d like to change that to negro’ or whatever the choice was‚" Wright continued. "I said‚ ‘Nah. That’s not happening.'"The 58-year-old then stated that the movie studio decided to cast another actor to do a voiceover for the sole purpose of replacing the audio of Wright saying just the single word."They found some other actor to come in and do that one word‚ apparently‚ so that the airplane folk would be comfy in the darkness of their own ignorance around the language of race‚" he explained. According to the film's Wikipedia page‚ the production company was Good Machine‚ while the distribution company was USA Films. Wright did not mention specifically which company he was referring to.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

SpaceX illegally fired employees‚ feds claim as Musk remains in Biden admin’s crosshairs

The National Labor Relations Board is accusing SpaceX of illegally firing several employees for being critical of founder and CEO Elon Musk‚ according to a complaint filed Wednesday. The formal complaint‚ obtained by SpaceNews‚ claims that SpaceX unlawfully fired eight former employees for circulating an open letter in June 2022 urging the astronautics company to distance itself from Musk."Elon's behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us‚ particularly in recent weeks‚" the letter‚ obtained by the Verge‚ read. "As our CEO and most prominent spokesperson‚ Elon is seen as the face of SpaceX — every Tweet that Elon sends is a de facto public statement by the company. It is critical to make clear to our teams and to our potential talent pool that his messaging does not reflect our work‚ our mission‚ or our values.""Publicly address and condemn Elon's harmful Twitter behavior‚" the letter continued. "SpaceX must swiftly and explicitly separate itself from Elon's personal brand."The letter further claimed that the company's policies were inconsistently enforced and demanded that leadership be held "equally accountable."The employees reportedly shared the letter on an internal Microsoft Teams channel with over 2‚600 other SpaceX workers and encouraged colleagues to sign it publicly or anonymously.Following the letter's release‚ several employees were fired. According to the NLRB‚ the company "impliedly invited employees to quit if they wished to engage in protected concerted activities" and "impliedly threatened employees with discharge if they continued discussion of the issues contained in the Open Letter."According to one former worker‚ Deborah Lawrence‚ SpaceX has a "toxic culture" where harassment‚ especially against women‚ is tolerated‚ the New York Post reported. The NLRB accused SpaceX of "interfering with‚ restraining‚ and coercing employees in the exercise of the rights guaranteed" under the federal labor law. The agency seeks to require the company to conduct training for its management team and write letters of apology to the fired employees. SpaceX could also face harsher penalties‚ such as being required to provide the fired employees with back pay.The NLRB is encouraging the parties to reach a settlement before a hearing that is slated for March. SpaceX must respond to the formal complaint by January 17.SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment‚ the Post reported.Anything else?Musk seems to have become the target of the Biden administration‚ with the latest NLRB complaint being just one of many accusations and probes lodged against the billionaire's companies over the last year.Maye Musk‚ Elon's mother‚ posted on X last month that she is "furious" with President Biden for waging a war against her son‚ Blaze News previously reported. "His goal is to make this world a better place. @POTUS wants to stop him. Have you any idea how furious I am? People in other countries are proud of Elon and do not understand the US President's motive. Please tell me how I should answer them‚" she stated.Maye Musk wrote the post in response to the Federal Communications Commission's decision to deny Starlink a $885 million award in 2020 that would have provided high-speed internet service to rural areas in 35 states. According to FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr‚ the award was denied after Biden stated that Elon Musk "is worth being looked at.""Doesn't make sense. Starlink is the only company actually solving rural broadband at scale!" Elon Musk posted on X. "They should arguably dissolve the program and return funds to taxpayers‚ but definitely not send it those who aren't getting the job done."The Biden administration's Department of Justice sued SpaceX in August for allegedly refusing to hire refugees and immigrants granted asylum‚ Blaze News previously reported. Musk fired back‚ calling the lawsuit "yet another case of weaponization of the DOJ for political purposes.""The weaponization of government agencies needs to stop. This fundamentally undermines public faith in the justice system‚" Musk said.Just weeks ago‚ the European Union declared it launched an investigation into X‚ Musk's social media platform. The EU claims that X is being probed for disseminating "illegal content and disinformation." Like Blaze News? The cavalry is coming to save red states from themselves

The cavalry is coming to save red states from themselves

On June 1‚ 2018‚ my wife‚ daughter‚ and I decamped from Los Angeles for Nashville‚ Tennessee. We had had enough. Our semi-glamorous Hollywood Hills home wasn’t seeming so semi-glamorous anymore with homeless trudging down from Mulholland Drive every morning‚ making it a treacherous experience to walk the dog. Nor was it a particularly enlightening experience to drive through the city for work‚ play‚ or shopping‚ to see‚ with your children next to you‚ the drug-addled crouched in doorways‚ defecating. This wasn’t exactly “California Dreamin’” anymore. Moreover‚ having been involved in betraying the cause of knee-jerk movie business liberalism by founding and becoming CEO of the conservative website Pajamas Media (now PJ Media) I had already discovered in my mailbox the scrawled warning‚ “We know where you live!” Many people I met were strong constitutionalists searching for a lost America they loved and hoping they would find it in red states. It was time to go‚ but the question was: where? I was partial to Charleston‚ South Carolina. My wife and daughter‚ both country music fans‚ preferred Nashville. So I was outvoted. We also chose it because my wife and I had spent our lives as novelists and screenwriters and wanted a creative city. But the truth is‚ though we had visited‚ we didn’t know much about the place. We were blindly and optimistically fleeing the bluest of blue states for a red state. To say there were surprises is an understatement. And that is why it took me over five years to write “American Refugees: The Untold Story of the Mass Migration from Blue States to Red States.” This is an experiential book‚ not data-driven‚ so I had to live it first. I am a “write what you know” guy‚ even for my series of detective novels. After living most of my life in L.A. and New York‚ the first surprise was that everybody was so nice. Initially‚ I almost thought it was a trick. The bigger shock was just how blue the city of Nashville itself was. Nashville‚ Memphis‚ Knoxville‚ and Chattanooga are blue islands in red Tennessee. Naïve me‚ I had thought Music City to have been more or less purple. It turned out that meetings of its Metro Council were more like gatherings of a “woke” politburo on steroids. But it wasn’t all that. A few miles out of Nashville‚ it was becoming increasingly more red. Or was it? The demography was complicated. Even places like neighboring Franklin‚ Tennessee — something of a Republican dreamland; Norman Rockwell meets sushi bars — were at play. Our friends on the left were hell-bent on turning the red states blue. (My book deals primarily with Tennessee but also has chapters on Texas‚ Georgia‚ and Florida.) Which brings me to the story of the “refugees” and what their role was and is. It was originally assumed that those of us arriving from blue America were motivated by cheaper living (tax savings) and were to be viewed suspiciously because we would pollute red state nirvana with our innate “California views.” While true of a few‚ this preconception was‚ in my observation‚ wildly off base. Who doesn’t want to save on taxes? But moving across America is a huge undertaking that usually takes more motivation than saving a few bucks that may disappear in the cost of the move anyway. Many people I met were strong constitutionalists searching for a lost America they loved and hoping they would find it in red states. They were often‚ as I learned‚ more constitutionalist‚ often more MAGA too‚ than the denizens of the red states themselves. Is this really surprising? It’s worth noting that California‚ due to its size‚ had more Trump voters in 2020 than any other state. Who then would be the people who bothered to make the cross-country trek to become those new American refugees‚ recapitulating the refugees of old (legal only) who built our country? In my book‚ I call them a cavalry — in SUVs‚ not on horseback — come to save the red states from themselves. Now‚ this isn’t always true. As the cliché goes‚ “It’s complicated.” Whatever the case‚ they are confronted by entrenched politicians‚ a fair number of whom are titularly Southern Republicans but often resemble the old Southern Democrats in new clothes. This has created a conflict‚ a kulturkampf in which both sides of necessity are changing. One thing the old guard insists‚ with justification‚ is they were the ones who turned Tennessee‚ and other red states‚ red in the first place. Aren’t you renegade blue staters just a bunch of buttinskies? I try to puzzle this all out in “American Refugees.” Overall‚ I deem moving in my book a positive experience‚ perhaps most importantly because so many in red America are devoted to God‚ as opposed to blue America‚ where he is largely ignored. That part‚ above all‚ changed me. Roger L. Simon is an award-winning novelist‚ Oscar-nominated screenwriter‚ and currently editor-at-large of the Epoch Times.

'An egregious example': Insider exposed University of Washington's racist practices against white and Asian candidates

The University of Washington acknowledged late last year that its psychology department zealously discriminated against white and Asian candidates. A spokeswoman for the school provided a critical detail to Newsweek Thursday concerning how precisely the school's systemic racist practices were first brought to light. Dianne Harris‚ dean of the College of Arts and Sciences‚ asked the University Complaint Investigation and Resolution office on May 17 to review "possible issues concerning the hiring processes employed in the Department of Psychology." According to a redacted report issued by the UW Civil Rights Investigation Office‚ Harris specifically asked whether the race of the candidates had factored into the department's hiring decision pertaining to a tenure track assistant professorship. A UW spokeswoman told Newsweek that Harris was responding at the time to concerns raised by "an internal whistleblower." The CRIO report revealed — on the basis of emails‚ recorded faculty meetings‚ and an interview — that the department's Diversity Advisory Committee‚ involved in the hiring process‚ cajoled the hiring committee into changing their unanimously-decided ranking of candidates for the so-called "Diversity in Development" faculty position. Furthermore‚ the hiring committee was pressured to alter "the process to provide disparate opportunities for candidates based on their race." The hiring committee initially narrowed down a field of 84 applicants to five candidates. After further winnowing‚ the committee identified three viable prospects‚ which were then ranked on the basis of an unanimous decision in light of their merits. The top candidate happened to be white. The runner-up was Asian. The third pick was black. Up until this point in the hiring process‚ the committee had ostensibly adhered to the university's Executive Order 31‚ prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race‚ color‚ and other immutable characteristics in recruitment‚ hiring‚ training and promotions. It was apparently also in compliance with state law‚ which banned race-based hiring in 1998‚ and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. However‚ such fleeting adherence did not produce the result the Diversity Advisory Committee wanted. In addition to prompting the hiring committee to defend why the "White candidate ended up ranked higher" than the black candidate‚ members of the DAC suggested it was bad optics not to advance a candidate of a preferred race. "I was unsettled about the offer-order outcome for the following reasons: First‚ with three above threshold candidates (Black‚ Asian‚ White)‚ it just seemed optically-speaking to look bad that offer #1 goes to the White candidate whom is the most junior and whose research content is less directly and explicitly connected to matters of race/ethnicity‚" wrote one DAC member. The same committee member suggested that the acknowledgement the white candidate was the most qualified of the three evidenced "some degree of undetected/unacknowledged bias." After concern-mongering about bias‚ the committee member unironically suggested the "faculty constitution" could do with less whiteness. According to the department's "Promising Practices for Increasing Equity in Faculty Searches" handbook — the de facto guide for hiring until the internal whistleblower spoke out — this would be par for the course. After all‚ the handbook boasted that in the 2020-21 academic year‚ the department hired non-white candidates for five tenure-track roles. The DAC chose not to endorse the hiring committee's ranking and ultimately got its way‚ prompting the hiring committee members to cave and to agree to a revised order where the least-viable candidate was pushed to the front ahead of both the white and Asian applicants. Despite being understood to rank highest on the merits‚ the white candidate was moved to third. The National Association of Scholars highlighted that the holdout committee members did not change their minds "about which candidate is most qualified." Rather‚ the report makes clear they acquiesced regarding the changing of the candidate order for a number of reasons unrelated to the merit of the candidates: "So as not to create a 'Bloodbath' at a faculty meeting"; "So the Developmental Area is not accused of 'not prioritizing DEI'" "Because they were worried junior faculty will hear a lot of 'nasty stuff' said at the faculty meeting and wonder if they were hired simply because of their races" "Because they thought it would result in a failed search"; and "Because it was creating personal stress on them‚ to the point that [name redacted] stated 'I wish I could quit this job' and [named redacted] wrote‚ 'I cannot condone this search process and do not want to be asked to speak about it in person.'" Department members involved with the talent search acknowledged that discrimination was afoot‚ but rather than calling it out‚ they tried to keep it under wraps. "I advise deleting the statement below‚" wrote one department member‚ "as it shows that [black] applications were singled out and evaluated differently than non URM applications." The UW admitted in an Oct. 31 announcement that "[r]ace was inappropriately considered in the hiring process even after some faculty received guidance from College of Arts &; Sciences and University leadership that such considerations are inappropriate." Despite this admission and apologies to the "affected candidates‚" it appears the psychology department nevertheless hired the candidate who had been prioritized on account of their complexion. "The successful candidate is unquestionably qualified‚ and we are proud to have them as a valued faculty member in the department and at the University‚" UW said in a statement. "They had no knowledge of the concerns raised and have our full support and respect‚ which we have communicated directly." For its racist practices‚ the psychology department has been barred from conducting searches for tenured and tenure-track faculty position for two years. All members of the department must also undergo training on how not to violate the law and university policy when conducting searches. John Sailer‚ a senior fellow at the National Association of Scholars who pressed the UW in April 2023 for records pertaining to several faculty job searches‚ including the Diversity in Development search‚ was set to receive additional staff emails from the UW's public record office last month. However‚ the university recently indicated it will not release the documents until April 26. "These requests are processed on a first-in‚ first-out basis and some are more complicated than others; his request was quite comprehensive‚ requiring significant review and redaction considerations‚ and as a result‚ it is still in progress‚" the university told Newsweek. While there may be yet more damning revelations to come‚ Sailer told Newsweek that the UW report already "shows universities — professors and administrators alike — discriminate with a total sense of impunity." "It's an egregious example‚ notable for how much is in writing‚ but it really is just one more example‚" continued Sailer. "This kind of discrimination in the name of 'equity' is commonplace‚ even when blatantly illegal. And that's instructive in light of Students For Fair Admissions." "Until its investigation‚ administrators from the university promoted the psychology department's hiring framework‚ which the university has now deemed to be in violation of its non-discrimination policy‚" added Sailer. "That's a big reversal." Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
