EXCLUSIVE: DeSantis Warns Biden To Preserve All Evidence On FEMA Scandal

Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis is warning President Joe Biden and FEMA leadership to make sure they preserve all evidence related to the agency’s apparent discrimination against Floridians who support Donald Trump that were affected by Hurricane Milton, according to a Saturday letter to the White House first obtained by The Daily Wire. DeSantis’s office is demanding that Biden, FEMA, and DHS take “immediate steps” to preserve all records and documentation related to the incident, including any communications between FEMA, DHS, and other federal entities that “could provide evidence of partisan bias in the denial of disaster benefits.” “I have been made aware of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) politicization of hurricane recovery assistance in Florida. Specifically, FEMA’s actions withholding federal assistance for disaster impacted Floridians based on political affiliation,” wrote Kevin Guthrie, the executive director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management. “As you know, FEMA plays a critical role in assisting individuals and communities during times of disaster and crisis,” continued Guthrie, who signed himself as the governor’s authorized representative. “It is essential that the Agency’s actions be fair, impartial, and focused on the needs of those affected, notwithstanding their political beliefs; any actions otherwise erode credibility with the public that we are entrusted to serve.” READ MORE: EXCLUSIVE: FEMA Official Ordered Relief Workers To Skip Houses With Trump Signs “As the Executive Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), it is my duty to faithfully serve all Floridians and ensure that every individual gets the aid that they deserve, notwithstanding their individual beliefs—political or otherwise.” The letter includes a copy of an explosive report from The Daily Wire, based on internal correspondence and the confirmation of multiple federal employees, exposing that a federal disaster relief official ordered workers to skip the homes of Americans who displayed flags or signs supporting Donald Trump as they offered support to those impacted by Hurricane Milton. In his letter to FEMA and the White House, Guthrie said “these actions undermine public trust in our recovery efforts.” “Given the significant impact these decisions have on individuals and communities—many of whom are already vulnerable in the wake of a disaster—it is imperative that the full scope of any such misconduct be investigated and addressed,” he wrote. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Daily Wire’s reported Friday that FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington told workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to find residents who qualified for federal aid. Washington relayed the message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire. Microsoft Teams chat used by FEMA workers. / The Daily Wire Due to this guidance, FEMA skipped at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags between the end of October and beginning of November, the government employees said. The Daily Wire previously published images showing the houses that were skipped by the workers, who noted in their government systems: “Trump sign no entry per leadership.” These employees were part of a Department of Homeland Security surge capacity force team, which means that they volunteered from other DHS agencies to aid FEMA with the second major hurricane in a month. “I know they’re short-staffed, I thought we could go help and make a difference,” one of the employees told The Daily Wire. “When we got there we were told to discriminate against people. It’s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that’s okay.” “I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them,” the employee added. “It didn’t matter if people were black, white, Hispanic, for Trump, for Harris. Everyone deserves the same amount of help.” Following publication of The Daily Wire’s report on Friday, FEMA said that it was “deeply disturbed” by the news. “While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again,” FEMA told The Daily Wire. “The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident. This is a matter that we take extremely seriously and we are doing everything we can to make sure all survivors receive support from FEMA.” FULL STATEMENT: “FEMA helps all survivors regardless of their political preference or affiliation and we are deeply disturbed by this employee’s actions. BREAKING: FEMA Fires Official Who Told Hurricane Relief Workers to Skip Trump Homes

The FEMA supervisor who ordered relief workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump’s supporters while administering hurricane aid in Florida has been fired following the Daily Wire report. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced Saturday that supervisor Marn’i Washington had been fired after she ordered federal employees under her supervision to“avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, according to messages shared with The Daily Wire by whistleblowers. These instructions were given both verbally and in writing, multiple government employees revealed. “More than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA’s core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors. Recently, one FEMA employee departed from these values to advise her survivor assistance team to not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump,” Criswell said in a statement. “This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. This was reprehensible.” “I want to be clear to all of my employees and the American people, this type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA and we will hold people accountable if they violate these standards of conduct,” she added. READ MORE: EXCLUSIVE: FEMA Official Ordered Relief Workers To Skip Houses With Trump Signs Criswell said that the incident had been referred to a special counsel for investigation. “We take our mission to help everyone before, during and after disasters seriously. This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel. I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again,” she said.  Federal employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes were skipped from late October to November because of the guidance, which was given verbally and in a group chat. The report prompted state and federal officials to demand an investigation into the incident.  Microsoft Teams chat used by FEMA workers. / The Daily Wire Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said the Daily Wire’s report was “sickening,” and also that she fears her constituents were targeted. “My district was one of the most heavily impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and it has been sickening to hear that more than half of my constituents were discriminated against for their political beliefs. Big government bureaucrats despise everyday Americans because they are not politically expedient for them,” Luna told The Daily Wire on Saturday. “I demand answers from FEMA Administrator Criswell and Congress must fully investigate this matter. The days of putting Americans and America last are over.” In a Friday letter, Luna demanded answers from Criswell on after The Daily Wire report.  Luna asked Criswell to provide answers on what she knew about FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington’s instructions to federal relief workers to “avoid homes advertising Trump” in a group chat used by relief workers.  “It is completely unacceptable that a FEMA official was allowed to exploit Hurricane Milton to further their political beliefs at a time when Americans were struggling due to the damage caused by the storm,” Luna wrote, citing The Daily Wire. “The opportunity to apply for federal aid through FEMA should never be used to discriminate against an individual.” I just took swift action for the American people, and I’m demanding answers from @FEMA_Deanne on why Americans were discriminated against by their government based on who they support in an election. The findings are revolting, and we need accountability. You have until 11/25. pic.twitter.com/Jz2gQVmhpc — Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (@RepLuna) November 9, 2024 An employee under Washington’s supervision previously filed a complaint about the guidance with the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees FEMA. As of Thursday, government employees told The Daily Wire that Washington had only been reassigned to a different Florida county, but FEMA said as of Friday that she was no longer actively working for the agency.  Luna demanded that Criswell respond by November 25 with information on what actions FEMA had taken and when it first became aware of the guidance. Luna’s letter asks what actions FEMA has taken to ensure that homes that were skipped received the necessary aid, and how guidance from supervisors is approved.  A number of other state and federal lawmakers have demanded investigations into FEMA following The Daily Wire’s report, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who ordered his state’s Division of Emergency Management to investigate the incident. The Florida official in charge of that agency wrote a letter to the White House on Saturday, obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire, ordering the administration to preserve all records for the pending investigation.

Why Women Voted For Donald Trump

Underneath a recent Instagram reel showing a pretty blonde proud Kamala Harris supporter wearing a T-Shirt emblazoned “WE SHOULD ALL BE FEMINISTS,” a caption stated: “pink is optional voting is not! strut your way to the polls and VOTE like a woman!”   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Rachel Martino (@rachmartino) It’s typical to see women who are normally non-political share whom they’re voting for – if they’re voting Democrat, of course. Unless a woman is explicitly political on Instagram, she wouldn’t tell anyone she was voting for Donald Trump. What was atypical, or at least unexpected, were the comments underneath the original post. “Can’t wait until there’s an actual good female candidate worth voting for!!” “would love to see a female president but not an incompetent one TY lol” “I voted for the other one, and I am still very much a woman.” Women were told since Kamala Harris became the last-minute Democrat presidential nominee that she was the obvious choice. Of course women should vote for her. How could any woman vote against another woman? Didn’t they want a woman president? And of course, there was the long list of reasons why women shouldn’t – nay COULDN’T – vote for Donald Trump. Women everywhere were exclaiming that their daughters’ futures were on the line; they absolutely HAD to vote for Kamala to defend their daughters’ access to abortions; Donald Trump was a disgusting man who was literally Hitler, if you asked the mainstream media; Donald Trump was simply too evil to be in office, no matter what his actual policies were. I’m sorry but this is mental illness. You’re crying on camera because Trump, WHO IS PRO-CHOICE, might be President for the next four years and you’re scared that your little girl can’t get an ABORTION?! Mental illness. It’s the only explanation. pic.twitter.com/twVXTEMEGO — Samantha D. (@Prolife_Sam) November 5, 2024 And yet — women voted for Donald Trump. The pressure exerted by the media, by influencers, by celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, amounted to nothing at all. Harris had the lowest turnout from women in the last three elections, lower than both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. 52% of white women voted for Trump. What happened? It turns out that women aren’t stupid enough to be swayed simply because another woman is running for the highest seat in the land. Women are not some faceless horde ready to fight for someone based solely on identity politics. Women weren’t convinced by a woman who was so bad at her job that she resorted to incoherent rambling and high-pitched cackling. And what the Democrats thought was a winning strategy — telling women not to think with their heads but to vote based off of hashtags like #imwithher — turned out to be an offensive joke. This time, women voted for what they cared about. Women cared about their grocery bills. They cared about their daughters playing sports and entering bathrooms safely. They cared about crime rates. They cared about illegal immigration. And yes, they even cared about abortion – but perhaps less about ruining their daughters’ futures because they wouldn’t have access to on-demand abortions, and more about babies not being torn limb from limb in the womb. Perhaps the fact that Kamala Harris was so bad at her job, so utterly irritating, allowed women to ignore the calls to vote for a woman, any woman, and instead look at the facts. And the facts on the ground were clear —  a vote for Trump was a vote for women. * * * Abby Roth is the creator of Classically Abby and The First-Generation Stay-At-Home Mom, a newsletter for all stay-at-home moms, but particularly for those who are the first in their families to take on the role of mother and caretaker as a full-time vocation. Dad Who Wanted to be a Pilot Builds Incredible Real-Life Simulator at Home–Now his Daughter’s Obsessed (Watch)

An Englishman who was told he “wasn’t clever enough” to become a pilot has built an incredible $25,000 flight simulator in his home using spare parts—and now he and his daughter can ‘fly’ every day. Craig Cullingworth spent two years building his accurate model of a Boeing 737-800NG cockpit with mostly second-hand parts he sourced […] The post Dad Who Wanted to be a Pilot Builds Incredible Real-Life Simulator at Home–Now his Daughter’s Obsessed (Watch) appeared first on Good News Network.

Australia’s Under-16 Social Media Ban is a Backdoor to Digital ID

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Australia is proceeding with plans to pass legislation that would introduce online age verification (referred to as “age assurance”). The proposal was announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese who explained that under the plan, users younger than 16 would be banned from using social platforms. In order to make the proposal more palatable, Albanese framed it as “a gift” to parents, but also revealed that users themselves would not be held responsible or penalized for breaking the possible future law. Instead, companies behind social media are the ones targeted by the planned legislation. Albanese mention Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, X, TikTok and Google’s YouTube as the kind of major sites that would be affected. Children under 16 would still be able to access social sites without parental consent – but only if they are logged out of accounts. The task of the companies, according to the proposal, would be to show they are taking “reasonable steps” to stop minors under 16 from accessing their sites and apps. Those “steps” mean integrating age verification into the platforms – and despite Albanese’s platitudes about the government “having the moms’ and dads’ back” – Australia is yet to come up with a method of actually determining someone’s age. For now, the technology is being trialed, while the timeline for Albanese’s newest proposal is to introduce it in parliament when it reconvenes in two week’s time, and in the meanwhile the prime minister will work to promote it via an online National Cabinet meeting. The proposal will then be debated, and if adopted, it will be implemented within the following 12 months. The “enforcer” would be Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, also responsible for coming up with a guidance for social sites on how to implement “age assurance” – once the authorities figure out what it should be. But Australian politicians want that method to be such that “effective age assurance” is – somehow – done “without alienating adult users.” As for 16 being the cut-off age for having an account on social networks, Minister for Communications Michelle Rowland described it as a “pragmatic approach” that will supposedly prevent harm, while still allowing for “connection and inclusion.” If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Maher Downplays Inflation Concerns: 'Can We Shut Up About Bacon?'

According to The Dispatch’s Sarah Isgur, it is not so much that Republicans won on Tuesday as much as it is that Democrats lost as a result of liberal culture warring and economic incompetence. HBO Real Time host Bill Maher might have been willing to concede the first point, but not the second as he addressed inflation by asking, “Can we shut up about bacon?” Isgur theorized, “Donald Trump increased his vote with everyone, which means it wasn't his campaign strategy. I think it was the American people just -- they voted for Joe Biden because they were promised normalcy and competency and they didn't get either, and the most effective ad that Donald Trump ran was the they-them ad, you know, ‘he's for you, she's for they/them.’"     She continued, explaining that “Democrats thought that was an ad about, you know, transphobia. They missed the point entirely. It was an ad about language. That these people are more obsessed with whether you have a signature block in your email with your pronouns in it than they are about getting the economy back on track and so that was just roundly rejected.” Maher tried to defend Biden and Kamala Harris, “Well, honestly, they did get the economy back on track. Let's not—” In politics, perception is reality, as Isgur shot back, “People don't feel that way.” Maher tried to position himself as the independent truthteller: “It's bullshit that he wanted Liz Cheney shot in the face and it's bullshit they didn't get the economy—let's call bullshit wherever it is, shall we? The economy—what is an indictment, what I think is in a tremendous indictment of Kamala Harris is that she couldn't win an election with the stock market at record highs and unemployment at record lows. When you give me that hand, you should be able to win an election.” Isgur again tried to explain why that was, “She couldn't win the election because Joe Biden refused to actually be a bridge to another generation that he promised to be and I know that you're looking at inflation numbers and saying the rate of inflation has gone down, bacon is still twice as much as it was. Inflation happened, and it's not going away.” An exasperated Maher asked, “Oh, can we shut up about bacon?” Alluding back to Maher’s opening monologue, Isgur chuckled, “You talked about bacon first.” Isgur is right. Sure, the inflation rate has fallen, but most voters still see the high prices and see the controlling the inflation rate as Harris trying to take credit for putting out the fire that Biden set in the first place. Ironically, in that monologue, Maher appeared to get it, “Women [voters] are a little stronger than you think. Women were like whatever, ‘I don't have to fuck him, I just want bacon.’” Here is a transcript for the November 8 show: HBO Real Time with Bill Maher 11/8/2024 10:23 PM ET SARAH ISGUR: Donald Trump increased his vote with everyone, which means it wasn't his campaign strategy.
