Woke Cumulus Media, NewsChannel 5 Refuse to Air Trump-Inspired Ads for Tennessee Retailer DT McCalls

Tennessee retailer D.T. McCall & Sons told The Tennessee Star on Wednesday that Cumulus Media and Scripps Media, Inc. both refused to broadcast advertisements inspired by former President Donald Trump on Cumulus’ Nashville radio station, SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, and Scripps’ Nashville television station, NewsChannel 5. The offending ads feature an impersonator of Trump wearing a suit and a “Make America Great Again” hat who performs an impression of the former president while extolling the virtues of D.T. McCall & Sons and excoriating nameless competitors at “the lumber yards.” “These are sick people at the lumber yards,” said the Trump impersonator in one of the four ads reviewed by the Star. “They charge you for cords, and hoses, and haul offs,” he continued, “they call them hidden charges, it’s the type of surprise that you don’t want to see. It’s like an October Surprise, but it’s worse.” In another, the impersonator explained, “I was this close, very close to buying from the lumber yards,” until, “I turned my head at the last second, and I saw a big, beautiful ad for D.T. McCall’s.” A.J. McCall, the owner of the Tennessee appliance company, told the Star on Monday that Cumulus declined to run the commercials on its Nashville radio station even after McCall had the ads modified to include a disclaimer clarifying that Trump did not personally lend his voice to his company for the ads. “I found a Trump impersonator that sounds really exactly like Trump. He made some ads for us. Cumulus wouldn’t run them,” said McCall. “We put a disclaimer at the end; Cumulus still won’t run them.” The reported refusal to run ads featuring an impression of Trump’s catchphrases and cadence could prove to be the latest hurdle for the radio network that has sometimes struggled with its conservative hosts and audience. In 2023, Bob Boccia, who was formerly a morning show co-host on Cumulus’ Memphis station, WKIM News/Talk 98.9, sued Cumulus, until the broadcaster mandated that all employees receive COVID-19 vaccinations. Cumulus was the first national broadcast company to announce a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. National radio personality Dan Bongino formerly announced his intention to leave the company due to the vaccine mandate but later stated that he would remain after Cumulus dropped the mandate in 2023. According to a 2023 company report published by Cumulus, the broadcasting company is “committed to advancing and cultivating an environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion combine to create a sense of belonging for all,” highlighting the broadcaster’s commitment to the controversial diversity, equity, and inclusion ideology. The report further reveals Cumulus created a DEI Steering Committee in 2020, joined the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion coalition in 2021, and “engaged a DEI advisory firm to further expand our DEI efforts” in 2022. McCall told the Star on Wednesday that Scripps raised legal concerns about running the ad on NewsChannel 5. “Channel 5 says that their lawyers rejected the commercial, but my understanding of trademark law is that it should be obviously a parody of Trump, because there’s the impersonator right there on the screen,” said McCall. “You can tell it’s not Trump.” Scripps similarly offers a webpage extolling its commitment to DEI, where it explains its commitment to “a diverse and inclusive culture” starts “by looking inward to build and celebrate a diverse and inclusive workplace,” which is reflected through the broadcaster’s “recruiting and hiring practices.” NewsChannel 5 has faced accusations of partisanship, and in April its reporter Phil Williams acknowledged he was aware of the claim state Rep. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, covered up reports of a 2020 sexual assault by a homeless person against two activists who participated in a 62-day protest Jones led in Nashville’s Legislative Plaza. Williams claimed he did not pursue the story after he questioned Jones and the lawmaker told Williams he was romantically entangled with the person behind the claim. Phoenix on Fire: Rising Prices Burn Arizonans

Residents of Phoenix are feeling the heat, and it’s not just the weather. Instead, it’s the relentless rise in inflation that has tightened its grip on household budgets, forcing many to reevaluate their spending and lifestyle choices. The current financial reality has become painfully clear: the American dream has become a distant memory, seemingly out of reach for many Phoenix families. Christopher is a young professional in Arizona (he asked not to use his full name). His story is emblematic of a larger struggle faced by many in his generation, as the dream of financial independence feels increasingly elusive. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2023 with an English degree. Now, he works in the human resources department at an in-patient rehabilitation hospital in Mesa. Living with his mother in Scottsdale—an arrangement borne of necessity rather than choice—he is confronted daily by the exorbitant costs of living in Phoenix. Using the Heritage Foundation’s Inflation Calculator, Christopher’s monthly household expenses total $4,753. This marks a staggering increase of 35.9% or $1,254, since January 2021. The impact of inflation, propagated by reckless government spending, is evident across all facets of life, from essential needs to discretionary spending. Households are grappling with financial decisions that were once straightforward, as the cost of living has surged at an alarming rate. Christopher’s personal expenses run through The Heritage Foundation Inflation Calculator at myinflation.com. Rent is the largest financial burden for Christopher. He currently splits a two-bedroom apartment with his mother at $2,800 per month, 37.2% or $759 a month more than he would have paid four years ago. For many, rent or mortgage costs consume a substantial portion of household income, leaving little room for savings or other expenses. He says that his dream of homeownership is slipping further away: “Trying to move out into a decent neighborhood means an average monthly mortgage payment of $2,500 minimum. As a recent graduate and single guy, this is completely impossible for him. “I can’t afford that rent payment on my own, so I save by staying at home with my mom,” he said. Transportation and car expenses have not escaped the inflationary heat wave either. He pays $240 per month for gasoline, which is $73, or 43.9%, more expensive than 2021. The cost of commuting 80 minutes from Scottsdale to Mesa for a day of work is burning a hole in his budget, too. Other transportation costs, including insurance, have also seen significant increases. He pays $200 monthly for car insurance, a drastic 54.9% increase compared to just four short years ago. Some of the expenses that one can input into The Heritage Foundation Inflation Calculator at myinflation.com. Another area where residents feel the pinch is in their grocery bills. Christopher spends an average of $200 per month on groceries, which have increased by 21% since 2021. Eating out has become a luxury that many can no longer afford, as it has increased by 23.1% since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office. The simple pleasure of enjoying a meal with friends or family is increasingly overshadowed by financial constraints. Taking his mother or a date to Cheesecake Factory warrants a bill of $60, compared to $48 just four years ago. “Inflation kills the restaurant business because they have tight margins, so they either raise food prices or cut costs by laying off employees and making portions smaller,” Christopher said. This vicious cycle places the financial burden squarely on consumers, who either receive less for their money or choose to forgo dining out altogether. It is crucial policymakers address the underlying causes of inflation. By implementing responsible fiscal policies and fostering economic growth that prioritizes affordability, such action would alleviate the financial strain on individuals like Christopher. The current inflation crisis is a wake-up call for Phoenix. Arizona families and all Americans deserve an economy that supports them and contributes to a higher standard of living, not one that stifles them with rising costs. It’s time for Phoenix to rise above these economic challenges and ensure that the American dream remains within reach for all its residents. Inflation Is the New Tax on Georgia Families

As the Peach State recovers from back-to-back hurricanes, Georgians are struggling to rebuild their families’ lives. With the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s inadequate response being just another symptom of the misuse of taxpayer dollars, many are becoming cynical. Making things even harder is the ever-increasing cost of goods and services. The federal government prints a trillion dollars in debt every 100 days, fueling the inflation that has burned a hole in everyone’s pocketbook. Thanks to Washington’s wasteful management of taxpayer funds, it is more difficult than ever for Americans to afford the basics, such as groceries. As The Heritage Foundation’s new Personal Inflation Calculator shows, the average cost of living has increased by nearly $1,500 per month for the typical Georgia household since January 2021. The Heritage Foundation’s new Personal Inflation Calculator shows the average cost of living has increased by nearly $1,500 per month since January 2021 for the typical Georgia household. (myinflation.com) This inflation isn’t a transitory blip; it is a direct outcome of government overspending and the printing of new money to cover it that devalues the dollar. The rising inflation that’s occurred under the Biden-Harris administration has resulted in a roughly 19% increase in the cost of groceries in Atlanta since January of 2021, when Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office. The effects of inflation on eating out are just as bad: Consumers can expect to spend an average of 20% more per month on their restaurant budget than they did just four years ago. How do these price increases affect the typical person’s month-to-month expenses? Today, the average Georgian spends roughly $625 on groceries and $420 on dining out monthly. That means they are spending nearly $100 more on groceries and $72 more on restaurants a month than they spent in January of 2021. That comes out to over $2,000 more per year on food and dining than the average Georgian spent in 2021. To put the effects of inflation under the Biden-Harris administration into perspective, consider Coca-Cola, a Georgia original and local icon. According to The Associated Press, Coca-Cola raised prices in North America by 11% between January and June of this year. And it’s not just Coke—the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that, on average, the price of a standard 12-pack of soft drinks has risen over 40% since January of 2021. While the cost of groceries has risen drastically, wages have not—according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the average median income in Georgia has risen by less than 18% since January of 2021. With inflation driving greater expenses across the board—the costs of gas and housing have increased by roughly 44% and 28%, respectively—affording basic goods and services has become increasingly difficult for the average consumer. The surging costs reflects a deeper problem: the tremendous government overspending that has occurred under this administration. The Federal Reserve has printed money to compensate for the virtually unchecked spending over the last four years, and, as a result, the value of the American dollar has significantly eroded. Ultimately, it’s everyday consumers who bear the brunt of Washington’s fiscal irresponsibility. As the cost of essentials like food, gas, and rent continues to rise, Georgians have every right to question why their hard-earned dollars should fund reckless spending in D.C. It’s time for policymakers to recognize that inflation isn’t an abstract figure; it’s a tax on families, and they deserve leaders who prioritize stability over unchecked government growth. Google’s YouTube Holds Mostly Pat in Face of Censorship Pressure from NY Times, WashPost

YouTube, the Google-owned video streaming platform, rebuffed pressure from The New York Times and The Washington Post to silence some prominent right-leaning and free-speech voices just days before the 2024 presidential election. On Thursday, The Times and The Post published separate reports accusing several podcast hosts, news anchors and legal scholars of spreading so-called election-related misinformation on platforms such as YouTube. But, to the detriment of the left, a YouTube spokesperson affirmed that the platform would not censor the videos, claiming it values a range of opinions. “The ability to openly debate political ideas, even those that are controversial, is an important value — especially in the midst of election season,” YouTube told both The Times and The Post, shocking many as the platform has had a reputation for censoring speech that the left disagrees with. Not deserving of being called a free speech bastion by any means, the platform still removed three of the videos targeted and temporarily slapped an informational banner on 21 of them, most of which were later removed, according to The Times.  While YouTube's refusal to fully cave to censorship pressure from The Times and The Post is a welcome sign, it doesn't excuse the platform's ongoing censorship. Data from MRC Free Speech America’s exclusive CensorTrack shows that YouTube has censored speech no fewer than 534 times, and that’s just scratching the surface. YouTube’s response came after the targeted individuals blasted The Times for reaching out to them for comments to be featured on the infamous report, which exclusively relied on data from a discredited, radical leftist group. The Post did not use the discredited leftist group for its report. The information that The Times and The Post relied upon singled out 286 videos across 30 channels, featuring some of the biggest and most influential hosts like Tucker Carlson, Benny Johnson, Tim Pool and Donald Trump Jr., Fox News hosts Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters and Mark Levin and The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles. YouTube said it reviewed eight of the 286 videos and that they did not run afoul of the company’s community guidelines. Legal voices were also targeted, including Tom Fitton, Stephen Miller, Mike Davis, Harmeet Dhillon, Kash Patel and Kimberly Guilfoyle, among others. Many of these figures rebuked The Times for blindly echoing the radical anti-free speech talking points it was fed, with Shapiro taking the lead. Shapiro accused The Times of relying on a “radical Left-wing organization whose sole purpose is destroying conservative media … in order to pressure YouTube to demonetize and penalize any and all conservatives ONE WEEK FROM THE ELECTION.” In a separate report, The Post accused Shapiro, Johnson, and podcasters Dan Bongino and Charlie Kirk of “preemptively casting doubt on the integrity of the 2024 election.” Similar to The Times, The Post also contacted YouTube and other podcast platforms, requesting comments about the videos it deemed misinformation. However, YouTube similarly dismissed their request, reiterating to The Post the same statement it had provided to The Times. YouTube’s subdued approach to censorship came after the Media Research Center and members of the MRC-led Free Speech Alliance warned Big Tech giants against interfering in the presidential election by censoring online speech. “We know that governments across the world are pressuring tech firms to interfere in the 2024 elections just as so many of you did in 2020,” FSA members wrote in August 2024. “Now is the time for you to affirm that you will not bow to this coercion and to reaffirm your commitment to providing fair and even-handed service to your customers.” Several prominent free speech leaders signed the letter, including MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell and Article III Project President Mike Davis, the latter of whom was also targeted in The Times’s one-sided report. Other members of the Free Speech Alliance that were targeted were The Claremont Institute, through its senior fellow Jeremy Carl; The Heritage Foundation, through its senior legal fellow Hans von Spakovsky; and Human Events, through its senior editor Jack Posobiec. Former President Donald Trump has also weighed in, warning Google that any interference in the upcoming November election would come with dire consequences if he is elected president. His admonishment came after MRC released several bombshell studies showing that Google Search users had to wade through a bevy of leftist media outlet content before finding the Trump campaign’s website. "It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in September. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on hate speech and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Mark Cuban: 'You Never See [Trump] Around Strong, Intelligent Women'

Shocker! The ideology that claims to support women doesn’t actually support women.  In an interview with “The View,” Leftist billionaire Mark Cuban admitted his feminism cuts off for women who refuse to vote his way.     “Donald Trump…you never see him around strong, intelligent women,” he mansplained to former Trump spokeswoman Alyssa Farah Griffin. Of course, ever since she threw her former boss under the bus to score a cozy talk show position, Griffin passes Cuban’s litmus test. In a desperate attempt to put toothpaste back in the tube, Cuban “clarified” in an X post that he was merely bashing Trump for finding smart women, “intimidating.” It sounds like he’s projecting. “I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump. Including in my extended family. I’m certainly not saying female voters are not smart, strong and intelligent,” Cuban insisted. Except that’s exactly what he suggested. His comments section isn’t forgiving him anytime soon for saying the quiet part out loud. Everyone knows he only believes women deserve a voice, as long as they voice opinions they’re told to.

Elon Musk dealt legal win in swing-state voter sweepstakes lawsuit

Pennsylvania Judge Angelo Foglietta handed Elon Musk and his America PAC a legal victory on Thursday.Foglietta decided not to immediately move forward with Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner's lawsuit against Musk and his PAC's $1 million sweepstakes.'Mr. Musk was named as a defendant as a publicity stunt. ... We all know that he is a very busy man who cannot just materialize anywhere he wants to with 12 hours' notice.'Instead, the judge placed the case on hold while a federal court considers whether it will move forward with the lawsuit or send it back to the state. Musk's legal team filed a "motion of removal" on Wednesday to move the case to federal court, arguing that the issues mentioned in Krasner's lawsuit "raise significant questions of federal law that are within the exclusive province" of the federal court."The Complaint, in truth, has little to do with state-law claims of nuisance and consumer protection," Musk's attorneys wrote. "Rather, although disguised as state law claims, the Complaint's focus is to prevent Defendants' purported 'interference' with the forthcoming Federal Presidential Election by any means."The decision allows Musk to continue the giveaway, which provides $1 million per day to random registered swing state voters who signed the America PAC's petition supporting the First and Second Amendments. The daily giveaway will continue through Election Day.To be eligible, voters must be from a battleground state: Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, or Wisconsin.Krasner accused Musk of "brazenly" continuing the daily lottery, claiming it is an "illegal lottery scheme to influence voters."Musk was ordered to attend the hearing on Wednesday but did not. As a result, Krasner is now pushing for sanctions against Musk for his failure to attend.Outside the courtroom, prosecutor John Summers stated that he is seeking to have the case returned to state court, claiming it "involves state law issues."He called Musk's failure to attend the recent hearing "both cowardly as well as irresponsible."Krasner's lawsuit also accused Musk and his PAC of failing to include clear rules for the sweepstakes and details on how they plan to use applicants' information. He also claimed that the winners are not chosen at random.Defense lawyer Matthew Haverstick accused the prosecution of naming Musk in the lawsuit to create a "circus atmosphere," stating that the PAC should have been the only defendant in the case."Mr. Musk was named as a defendant as a publicity stunt," Haverstick said. "We all know that he is a very busy man who cannot just materialize anywhere he wants to with 12 hours' notice."The Department of Justice previously warned the PAC that the lottery may violate federal laws but has taken no action against it.In response to the judge's decision to halt the case, Musk wrote on X, "American Justice FTW [for the win]."Like Blaze News? Does the woke WaPo staffers MELTDOWN foreshadow a ‘Democrat civil war’?

No American truly cares who a large historically leftist newspaper endorses, because for the most part, America is already well aware what their own and the media's beliefs are. However, there is a small subset of people who do care: namely, the employees at the Washington Post and the L.A. Times, who are furious that the outlets did not endorse Kamala Harris. “The only people who were waiting for this were the editorial writers who are so obsessed with their own point of view and so convinced that the world just hangs on their every word,” Blaze Media senior politics editor Christopher Bedford tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight.” Now those employees are “quitting en masse.” “Which is really a wonderful thing to see, because the world definitely needs plenty of unemployed Washington Post and L.A. Times editorial writers who attack their bosses,” Bedford says. Bedford believes this “is a little foreshadowing” if Kamala Harris loses the election — despite all of the insane measures taken against Trump, including two assassination attempts, to keep him out. “If she loses this election,” he says, “this kind of turning on the publishers, turning on Bezos, turning on the owner of L.A. Times, turning on each other, is kind of a foreshadowing of the Democrat civil war that you’re going to see.” “These folks aren’t going to take it lying down,” he continues. “Their power has been decreasing every single day. The more they attack Donald Trump, the higher his popularity goes, but as opposed to looking outward or even inward and saying, ‘Where is his popularity coming from’ and ‘Where have we gone wrong,’ they’re kind of circling around a firing squad to turn on each other.” “I think that’s good news for everyone except them,” he adds.
