Squid Game 2 Teaser Girds Us for Another Game

News Squid Game Squid Game 2 Teaser Girds Us for Another Game By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on October 31, 2024 Credit: Netflix Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Netflix The second season of Squid Game looms ever closer, and Netflix has released a teaser that confirms that the upcoming episodes, once again written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, will be just as brutal as the first. The second season sees the return of Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who has signed up to play another round of the murderous game he barely survived three years ago. Based on the teaser, it looks like he wants to upend the game from the inside and convince the other players to opt out and, in doing so, save their lives. The teaser also suggests that his efforts may be in vain. More than one person gets summarily shot by the giant Red Stop, Green Stop robot doll who has machine guns in her eyes. We also get glimpses of some new players who will likely die before the second season is over, if the first season is anything to go by, and confirmation that the rich, evil powers that be are still going strong. In addition to Lee Jung-jae, Squid Game 2 sees the return of actors Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo in their respective roles. Newcomers to the series include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yuri, and Won Ji-an. Squid Game 2 premieres on Netflix on December 26, 2024. Happy holidays! Check out the teaser below. [end-mark] The post Squid Game 2 Teaser Girds Us for Another Game appeared first on Reactor.

Donald Trump’s Closing Argument? Finish What We Started.

When President Grover Cleveland left the presidency in 1889, the 22nd president of the United States had no designs to seek a second term. Four years later, on March 4, 1893, Cleveland stood at the East Portico of the Capitol, swearing the same oath he had recited eight years prior. Cleveland became the 24th president battered and bruised, but unbroken: He’d taken on Tammany Hall, survived scandal, and overcome an embarrassing defeat in the 1888 election. Cleveland, the only Democratic president of the Reconstruction era, believed his administration’s policies were vindicated by the intermittent four years. The American people appeared to feel the same, as Cleveland’s popular vote margin of victory, about 400,000 votes, was the largest since President Ulysses S. Grant’s reelection in 1872. More than 130 years on, a similar story seems to be unfolding: Former President Donald Trump is on the cusp of doing what only Cleveland had managed to do before, by returning to the White House after four years out of power. Trump, as well as his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris, are making their closing arguments to the American people ahead of Election Day on Nov. 5. As the Trump campaign did in 2016, it has reduced the former president’s pitch into a two-minute advertisement. Trump’s closing advertisement of the 2016 cycle, titled “Donald Trump’s Argument for America,” spoke of Trump’s Make America Great Again movement as an insurgency. “Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American people,” Trump said in the advertisement. “For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don’t have your good in mind.” Trump attacked the same sacred cows of the Washington establishment—immigration, trade, and foreign policy—that propelled him to political prominence. “The political establishment that is trying to stop us is the same group responsible for our disastrous trade deals, massive illegal immigration, and economic and foreign policies that have bled our country dry,” he said. “It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.” The message carried Trump all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Trump himself, though a billionaire, encapsulated the insurgency through his candidacy. He remains the only man ever elected president of the United States without political or military experience. His experience, or lack thereof, led Trump to lean on a piece of his identity that he shared with the average American—the Washington outsider. “The only thing that can stop this corrupt machine is you. The only force strong enough to save our country is us. The only people brave enough to vote out this corrupt establishment is you, the American people,” the advertisement concludes. “I’m doing this for the people and for the movement, and we will take back this country for you. And we will make America great again.” In 2024, the situation is more complex, and the Trump campaign’s identity more nuanced. The core issues in this election remain the same as they were in 2016: immigration, foreign policy, and the economy and trade. The fundamentals appear to cut in the former president’s favor. Millions of migrants have surged across the southern border into the United States during President Joe Biden’s tenure. The chaos has flowed into American cities, where migrants have overwhelmed schools and social services and gangs have taken over apartment buildings and hotels. The United States finds itself intimately involved in two wars—one in the Middle East and one in Eastern Europe—that are on the brink of broadening beyond their region, with the threat of nuclear weapons always lurking in the background. Economic and job growth continues to underwhelm, while prices and interest rates rise too rapidly for the average American family to keep pace. Trump is no longer, as Michael Moore said predicting Trump’s victory in 2016, simply “the human Molotov cocktail” the forgotten man can throw at the establishment. Now, he’s a precision drone strike—the former president with a record and experience dealing with the establishment that opposes him. In 2024, Trump is equal parts politician and outsider and equal parts incumbent and challenger. He’s the demolition crew and the construction crew. Trump’s closing advertisement for this election cycle, titled “Never Quit,” makes a similar argument, seeking to untangle the enigmatic Trump campaign of 2024. The two-minute advertisement begins with a quick rehashing of Trump’s record as president—tax cuts, rising wages, and an economy outperforming growth expectations—before abruptly cutting to what has transpired under the Biden-Harris administration. “Inflation destroyed the lives of so many people. Interest rates went from 2% to 10%. Millions of illegal immigrants, traffickers, and drugs coming into our country,” Trump says. “Our country has gone to hell” “So, I made a decision to run,” Trump continues. “I will fight for you with every breath, and I will never let you down.” The advertisement then features members of the president’s family and prominent figures who have coalesced behind the former president’s message over the course of the 2024 campaign. Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, now a Republican, is among them. “We can’t allow our country to be destroyed by politicians who will put their own power ahead of the interests of the American people, our freedom, and our future,” Gabbard says in the advertisement. While Cleveland was bruised and bled figuratively before returning to the presidency, Trump has done so literally—escaping two assassination attempts over the course of his campaign. “President Trump is literally putting his life on the line, and he’s willing to risk it all because he loves this country,” a clip from UFC President Dana White’s speech at the Republican National Convention says during the advertisement as video plays of the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. While Trump’s closing argument in 2016 implored the American people to ignite a revolt against the status quo in Washington, the former president’s closing argument in 2024 tells a story of survival and successes in the course of a nearly decade-long war against the political establishment. CBS Hosts Debt Discussion with Democrat Economist Who Calls $35T Debt ‘Savings’

CBS News left viewers poorly informed on the nation’s economic state after featuring a professor who referred to the national debt as “savings." On Monday, CBS Morning Plus had on Stephanie Kelton, a leftist Stony Brook University professor and former Democrat Senate Budget Committee chief economist, whom co-host Adriana Diaz described as a “certified, bona fide person.” Co-host Tony Dokoupil admitted that the national debt was a topic he had “never ever ever really understood.” Unfortunately, Dokoupil’s knowledge of the national debt peaked immediately before Kelton began speaking. Kelton not only told their audience not to worry about the $35 trillion national debt, but even cast the debt in positive terms. Kelton referred to the debt as “savings” and yearly deficits as “surpluses” for Americans, all the while absurdly minimizing inflation during the Biden-Harris administration. After comparing the national debt to a long CVS receipt, Kelton absurdly told Dokoupil and Diaz, “So, when we worry about the national debt, it's as if we're wringing our hands and saying, ‘My god, we have all of this savings. We've got all of this wealth. What are we going to do to grow out of it?’” To Dokoupil’s credit, he mentioned the national debt’s importance and showed a graphic depicting the then-$35,810,000,000,000 burden on future generations of Americans before Kelton vomited out her points on air. The Biden-Harris administration presided over budget deficits of $2.8 trillion (2021), $1.4 trillion (2022), $1.7 trillion (2023)—and a projected deficit of $1.9 trillion in 2024 while signing onto massively expensive and wasteful pieces of legislation such as the outrageously misleadingly named “Inflation Reduction Act.” During the interview, Diaz responded to Kelton’s bizarre arguments by asking the obvious: “Isn’t it bad to print money because a) we’re adding money into the economy, which is going to potentially drive up… have inflation impact; and b) Don't we need to cover ourselves when we spend money?” In response, Kelton dismissed the very serious second question with, “No, so it doesn't work like a household budget,” and then solely focused on arguing that America’s deficits rarely caused inflation. Charity demands that we assume Kelton is not lying but is merely incredibly stupid. After acknowledging that there was a link between putting too much money into the economy and causing inflation, Kelton followed with an awful claim. “We haven't had inflation except for brief periods where there's been an oil shock in the 1970s, or a COVID shock. By and large, the government has run continuous deficits without inflation because the deficits haven't been excessive. They haven't gotten too big.” It isn’t immediately clear whether Kelton would use COVID-19 to excuse all four years of Biden-Harris’s obscene deficits—which are certainly too big. At the same time, there has been massive inflation. During the Biden-Harris administration, Americans have suffered through an average of 5.2 percent monthly inflation, compared with only 1.9 percent monthly inflation under the Trump administration. Moreover, there are serious consequences to treating the national debt as “savings” and dismissing it as a CVS receipt. The Heritage Foundation economist E.G. Antoni has noted that yearly interest payments on the national debt are on track to exceed $2 trillion by 2030 and have already massively exceeded total military spending. Conservatives are under attack! Contact ABC News (818) 460-7477 and NBC News (212) 664-6192, and demand they report on the massive unsustainable spending of the U.S. Government and our growing national debt. Contact CBS News (212) 975-3247 and ask for them to feature experts who have an ounce of understanding of and concern for America’s financial state!

Critics ask whether DOJ will give Jimmy Kimmel the Douglass Mackey treatment for 'election interference'

Critics ask whether DOJ will give Jimmy Kimmel the Douglass Mackey treatment for 'election interference'

Critics are wondering whether the Biden-Harris Department of Justice will hold Jimmy Kimmel to the same standard to which it held pro-Trump social media influencer Douglass Mackey, who was convicted for supposed "election interference" and sentenced to prison last year for memes. There is cause to be skeptical. After all, the DOJ has a habit of holding conservatives to a higher standard than its ideological allies. Former Trump advisers Stephen Bannon and Peter Navarro were convicted for supposed contempt of Congress, whereas Attorney General Merrick Garland and former Attorney General Eric Holder got off scot-free. The proudly pro-abortion DOJ has almost exclusively targeted pro-life activists when it comes to FACE Act charges. The same DOJ adopted a draconian and in some cases "fact-free approach" when prosecuting Jan. 6 protesters after previously treating Black Lives Matter rioters with kid gloves. The titular host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" has recently made a number of desperate appeals to potential voters, asking them to get out and vote — just not for President Donald Trump. In his monologue Wednesday, the Harris booster said, "You have to vote. If you can vote early, vote early. If you can't vote early, vote on time. If you want to vote for Trump, vote late. Vote very late. Do your voting on Thursday or maybe Friday." 'Biden's DOJ sent Douglass Mackey to prison for sharing this same joke.' Libs of TikTok responded, "Wasn't Douglass Mackey sentenced to prison for doing something similar? Will @TheJusticeDept investigate Jimmy Kimmel?" Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) noted, "Douglass Mackey was sent to prison for this." "Biden's DOJ sent Douglass Mackey to prison for sharing this same joke about Hillary," tweeted former Salomon Brothers and Citigroup investment banker John LeFevre. "Another example of the weaponized lawfare and two-tiered justice that awaits us if Kamala wins." Mackey chimed in, tweeting, "Jimmy Kimmel told his joke to an audience of millions. The joke meme I sent out didn't even reach more than 100 people until Buzzfeed and Wired reported on it." Mackey was arrested in 2021, convicted in New York for supposed "election interference," and sentenced in October 2023 to seven months in prison by an Obama-appointed judge, Ann M. Donnelly. At the time, Trump said, "They're putting Douglass Mackey in jail for sharing a joking meme about Hillary Clinton seven years ago. Nobody ever heard of anything like that." According to the Biden-Harris DOJ, "Between September 2016 and November 2016, Mackey conspired with other influential Twitter users and with members of private online groups to use social media platforms, including Twitter, to disseminate fraudulent messages that encouraged supporters of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to 'vote' via text message or social media which was legally invalid." The Intercept noted that there is no federal law against lying about election mechanisms or the electoral process. Mackey was instead indicted under a Reconstruction-era statue known as Section 241 or the "Ku Klux Klan Act," which prohibits conspiring to "injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person" trying to exercise a constitutionally or federally protected right. The DOJ was evidently proud of the mental gymnastics required to charge the Clinton critic, stating that his prosecution was "groundbreaking." Mackey is appealing his case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court, should that fail. According to Mackey and amici curiae, "The First Amendment tolerates narrow, clear statutes that target knowingly false speech concerning the time, place, and manner, or other technical mechanics of an election. But Section 241 is not such a statute. This Court should reverse the decision of the district court." "When I made an election joke, the Deep State used it as a pretext to conduct a fishing expedition against me, subpoenaing all financial records, leases, employment information and pay stubs, and email accounts. Will Jimmy Kimmel enjoy the same?" Mackey tweeted on Thursday. 'Force these scumbags to live by their own rules.' One X user noted that Kimmel's "violation is worse than what [Mackey was] convicted for, and he transmitted this over federally licensed airwaves. The @FCC, @FBI, #FEC and #DOJ should be contacted, @ABC should be immediately sanctioned, and @Jimmykimmel needs to be investigated. Anything less is selective and preferential justice." Rob Eno, Blaze Media's director of content marketing, quipped, "It would be a real shame if everyone flooded the US DOJ crime tip line and ask them to charge Jimmy Kimmel with the same crime they charged Douglass Mackey with. A real shame. I'm not telling you to to go this link and do it." Conservative commentator Matt Walsh tweeted, "I'm dead serious when I say if Trump wins he should have Jimmy Kimmel arrested and jailed. Force these scumbags to live by their own rules." Viral video shows fight between man and poll workers over 'Let's Go Brandon!' hat

A video of an altercation between a Trump supporter and poll workers in South Carolina went viral on social media Thursday. The video shows the man get into a heated argument with poll workers in Orangeburg who demand he take off his hat. The hat read, "Let's Go Brandon!" according to WIS-TV. The workers told him he could not vote if he wore the hat. 'Voters are not allowed in South Carolina to wear articles of clothing that displays any candidate, political party or ballot issue.' Although he flings the hat out of the polling area, he and one poll worker continue arguing before she appears to assault him, video showed. The poll workers hold him back as he swings at her. WIS reported that the Orangeburg County Department of Public Safety responded to the incident and it was under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. According to WIS, voters in South Carolina are not allowed to wear articles of clothing that display any candidate, political party, or ballot issue. Some on social media used the video to blame former President Donald Trump and call on voters to reject him at the ballot box. "A Trump supporter in Orangeburg, South Carolina refused to take off his Trump cap (prohibited inside precincts) and assaulted election workers," responded activist Keith Boykin. "We must vote to stop Trump, or MAGA will get bolder every day we normalize a twice-impeached, convicted felon insurrectionist."Others argued that the poll workers were in the wrong because the "Let's Go Brandon!" hat was not technically electioneering. Some noted that the poll worker appeared in the video to assault him first. The video garnered 2.4 million views in just one of the instances where it was posted to the X platform. A similar incident unfolded in Bexar County in Texas on Oct. 24 when a 63-year-old man allegedly punched a 69-year-old poll worker for telling him he had to take off his "Make America Great Again" hat after he voted. The district attorney said they would "vigorously prosecute" the man over the alleged assault. Like Blaze News?
