The Atlantic Becomes a 'Dehumanizing' Tool for Kamala

The Atlantic was once a respectable publication founded in 1857 and in the following decades featuring some of the most valued writers in America with names like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Harriet Beecher Stowe and others.  Who knew The Atlantic would re-make itself in the 21st century, now owned by Laurene Powell Jobs? Like many media outlets, they became negatively obsessed by Donald Trump. But now, it's even more committed, because Mrs. Jobs has a very powerful friend. Cue The New York Times:  Over the past 20 years, she has become one of Ms. Harris’s most essential confidantes, providing counsel and money, and helping to expand Ms. Harris’s public profile. Now, in this year’s presidential race, the wealthiest woman in Silicon Valley has emerged as a powerful player behind the scenes. She has quietly contributed millions of dollars to an organization backing Ms. Harris, according to three people briefed on the gifts. She played a hidden but key role in helping usher Mr. Biden out of the race, which cleared the way for a Harris run. And Ms. Powell Jobs, who is so close to the vice president that her staff refers to her simply as “L.P.J.,” is positioned to have extraordinary influence, or at least access, in a potential Harris administration. This comes to mind not only with Jeffrey Goldberg's Trump-admires-Hitler's-generals piece, but this one authored by Anne Applebaum:  Trump Is Speaking Like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini The former president has brought dehumanizing language into American presidential politics. He has? This appears as the apparent talking point for all Democrat leaders is to compare Trump to Hitler. (Hello Hillary!) The reality of a hit piece like this one is that it is nothing more than far left-wing propaganda with zero serious discussion of the issues of the day. To begin, if author of this piece is concerned about “dehumanizing language” being brought “into American presidential politics” she has been curiously silent when Republicans with names like Reagan, Bush, Nixon and Goldwater were assailed regularly over the decades. Here, for example, is Salon writing up “The racism at the heart of the Reagan presidency”.  Just this last week the Washington Examiner’s Christopher Tremoglie headlined:  Reductio ad Hitlerum: 60 years of Democrats falsely calling the Republican nominee a fascist Tremoglie reports: Let’s start with former Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) and his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in 1964. Over 50 years before Trump decided to run for president, celebrities, journalists, politicians, and other politicos warned that the GOP presidential nominee was an extreme fascist who would cause considerable harm to the country. Goldwater, who served as a pilot during World War II, was likened to Nazis and fascists for promoting conservatism during his presidential campaign.  For example, the then-Democratic governor of California, Edmund Gerland “Pat” Brown, remarked about Goldwater’s acceptance speech, claiming it “had the stench of fascism. All we needed to hear was Heil Hitler.” It should be noted that Goldwater served as a pilot in the military during WWII. Brown didn’t have any military service at all. Tremoglie went on:  The despicable comments continued the following election in 1968. Then-Vice President Hubert Humphrey, and Democratic nominee for president, remarked about the election, “If the British had not fought in 1940, Hitler would have been in London, and if Democrats do not fight in 1968, Nixon will be in the White House. In the 1992 presidential election, there was this headline in the Los Angeles Times:  Rep. Waters Labels Bush ‘a Racist,’ Endorses Clinton The Washington Post reported this of Nixon:   When Nixon squeaked into office with a tiny margin, liberals and the left despaired. As the late liberal senator Paul Wellstone (D-Minn.) recounted in his memoirs, the reaction in his household was simple: ‘Nixon is a fascist pig.’ Even former First Lady Barbara Bush was not immune from these type of attacks. At her death, The Atlantic -- yes, the self-same Atlantic professing horror at Trump’s language -- wrote up one Fresno State creative writing professor Randa Jarrar, proudly quoting her as saying:  'Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal,' she wrote. 'Fuck outta here with your nice words.' On and on….and on and on…have gone these attacks by the Left on prominent Republicans, assailing the target of the moment as racist, fascist, Hitler and more.  Objections from The Atlantic? Zero. Not only no objections, but in essence cheering on the attacks when not participating in them. Which is to say, The Atlantic is not about journalism, but about Democrat Party propaganda liberally salted with attacks on Republicans as racist, fascist, sexist, homophobic and who knows what else.

Good Morning? CNN Pushes Climate Doom, Trashes 'Ill-Equipped' Political System

On Thursday's CNN This Morning, host Kasie Hunt devoted a segment to promoting the liberal view that there needs to be climate regulations to keep hurricanes and other natural disasters from getting worse in the future. Reacting to Wednesday night's CNN presidential candidate forum with Vice President Kamala Harris, Hunt recounted: So, in this election season, we shouldn't forget that the communities in the Southeast United States are still picking up the pieces after two hurricanes ravaged the region in just two weeks. And, as temperatures rise across the globe from climate change, the number of extreme natural disasters is also increasing. She then brought aboard CNN meteorologist and "extreme weather field reporter" Derek Van Dam, who began: Yeah, you hit it -- said it perfectly there. So what we used to consider extreme weather is now actually the new normal, and it's going to continue this way until we curb these trapping greenhouse gases. Now, in last night's town hall, there was this void on the topic of climate and the environment, but there was this one moment. After a clip of Vice President Harris declaring that she has changed her view on banning fracking, Van Dam warned viewers about the future as he continued: "Mitigating greenhouse gases -- that is the key. And I'm going to let you in on a little secret. If we don't, it is extremely expensive. Take last year, for example. We had a record number of billion dollar plus disasters. And if we go towards this year, we're still rewriting the history books..." He then presented a chart showing the dollar value of natural disaster damage increasing with each decade since the 1980s: Look at the previous decades as well -- 2010 to 2019, nearly a trillion dollars from these natural disasters -- 2017 sticks out in my mind. I was in Houston for Hurricane Harvey. That was an incredible rain event that caused so much catastrophic flooding. And the reason is, is because of the heat that's baked into our atmosphere. Remember, when we warm our planet, we also warm the oceans, and so that allows for more water vapor in the atmosphere. And that allows for more frequent and more intense rainfall events like Harvey. He soon added: And also with our warming oceans, we see this rapid intensification occurring more frequently as well. There's been an uptick just in the past decades of these hurricanes going from tropical storm to major category 5 just like Milton did just a couple of weeks ago. And no state across the U.S., Kasie, is sheltered from these billion dollar disasters. It happens everywhere. Climate change is happening now. Hunt wrapped up by lamenting the political pressures around the issue make it difficult to take action: "Yeah, another reminder last night that both the lack of discussion about this and also the way in which it's talked about shows you how the dynamics in our political system make it so ill-equipped to deal with this problem that you've just laid out." It was not mentioned that part of the reason for the increase in dollar value of natural disaster damage is because more people have moved into vulnerable areas and built more. There has also been an observable pattern that hurricane activity sometimes increases for several years and, at other times, it diminishes. For example, between 2001 and 2010, there were 19 hurricanes that made landfall in the U.S., but, between 2006 and 2015, the number was only eight. Transcript follows: CNN This Morning October 24, 2024 6:24 a.m. Eastern KASIE HUNT: So, in this election season, we shouldn't forget that the communities in the Southeast United States are still picking up the pieces after two hurricanes ravaged the region in just two weeks. And, as temperatures rise across the globe from climate change, the number of extreme natural disasters is also increasing. Our meteorologist -- our weather man, Derek Van Dam, is here. Derek, good morning to you. DEREK VAN DAM: Yeah, you hit it -- said it perfectly there. So what we used to consider extreme weather is now actually the new normal, and it's going to continue this way until we curb these trapping greenhouse gases. Now, in last night's town hall, there was this void on the topic of climate and the environment, but there was this one moment. ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: Finally, on fracking, you said you're clear -- you would not ban it as President. VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: No, I would not ban it as President. COOPER: And you're clear on that. Do you think it is bad for the environment? HARRIS: I think that we have proven that we can invest in a clean-energy economy -- we can mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, we can work on sustaining what we need to do to protect this beautiful Earth of ours, and not ban fracking. VAN DAM: Mitigating greenhouse gases -- that is the key. And I'm going to let you in on a little secret. If we don't, it is extremely expensive. Take last year, for example. We had a record number of billion dollar plus disasters. And if we go towards this year, we're still rewriting the history books here, but we have this data that we've already accumulated over $15 billion from the disasters we've had, but this is only valid through August. Remember September and October? Yeah, Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. So those numbers are going to drastically rise. Look at the previous decades as well -- 2010 to 2019, nearly a trillion dollars from these natural disasters -- 2017 sticks out in my mind. Just like Milton -- remember the flash flooding that happened. And also with our warming oceans, we see this rapid intensification occurring more frequently as well. There's been an uptick just in the past decades of these hurricanes going from tropical storm to major category 5 just like Milton did just a couple of weeks ago. And no state across the U.S., Kasie, is sheltered from these billion dollar disasters. It happens everywhere. Climate change is happening now. HUNT: Yeah, another reminder last night that both the lack of discussion about this and also the way in which it's talked about shows you how the dynamics in our political system make it so ill-equipped to deal with this problem that you've just laid out. Derek Van Dam for us this morning. Derek, so grateful to have you. Thank you.

Democrats LOSING? Shocking non-endorsement spells SERIOUS trouble for Kamala Harris

Democrats are panicking and for good reason. Not only are the polls reflecting a flailing Kamala Harris campaign, but the L.A. Times, for the first time in four election cycles, has refrained from endorsing a candidate — despite Kamala’s deep state ties to California. “It’s palpable in the air, they know that they're losing,” Sara Gonazles of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” comments, noting that the billionaire owner of the L.A. Times “blocked the paper from endorsing a presidential candidate at all.” “It’s no exaggeration to say this may be the most consequential election in a generation. And we’re not just talking about the presidential race,” the owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, had said after blocking the paper from giving an endorsement. “You’ve got to keep in mind how important this is. The L.A. Times. Where’s Kamala from? She lived in the L.A. County city of Brentwood, she was the California attorney general, she was a senator from California. This is her people. This is her home turf paper refusing to endorse her,” Gonzales says. As Election Day gets closer, more and more signs are pointing to doom for Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party. “You can feel it, can’t you? They know that they’re losing,” Gonzales says, noting that they’re likely going to pull out all the stops in order to stop Donald Trump from winning anyways. “I want to show you what the Democrats are going to do in the 76 days between Donald Trump potentially winning on Election Day,” she continues. “They’ve got to try their best to get as many fake ballots as they can. Unfortunately for them, it sounds like it’s going to be too big to rig.” “They’re going to try to cause as much disruption, distraction, chaos, for Donald Trump, and of course, for you, because we all know they’re not really after him, they’re after you. He’s just standing in the way,” she adds. Our sons deserve to dress like men

Our sons are born into a world of moral and aesthetic chaos. There are no rules, no expectations, no limits. The barriers that frame our traditionally fixed forms are broken down in front of our very eyes. Any sense of hierarchy is eviscerated. The definitions of man and woman are mutilated. Sacred and profane are turned in a blender together. Culture is flattened, and American aesthetics are forgotten. Your grandfather learned how to dress from his father, and your father from his father. What are you teaching your son? And in this perilous state, there are men who claim that clothes do not matter. Cultural slop These men do not understand the harsh reality that if they do not teach their sons how to dress, their sons will be swallowed up by the cultural slop of our era. They claim that clothes aren’t important and that men don’t need to care about how they dress. They couldn’t be more wrong. It’s not only that this idea is wrong. It’s dangerous. It’s giving up and surrendering your son to the tides of mass-culture 2024. It’s this attitude that allows the creeping hands of culture-less androgyny to grasp the throat and squeeze. This androgyny is a primary thrust of our time. A confusing of man and woman. Telling children that boys can be girls and girls can be boys. It’s in the language; it’s in the messaging; it’s in the clothes. If you do not resist aesthetically, you will be eaten alive. If you do not swim, you will float down the river like a dead log. To oppose the culture of 2024, it’s not enough to talk about it. You must embody it aesthetically. If you do, the impact is powerful. Man or beast? Why do we wear clothes? Because we are not beasts. We were exiled from the Garden many years ago, and since then, we have covered ourselves. Today, we have civilization. Since we do not walk around nude, our clothes reflect the divine and eternal forms of man and woman. Deuteronomy 22:5 should come to mind. There is a reason why God tells us that men should not wear women’s clothes and women should not wear men’s clothes. Concerns about men and women wearing appropriate clothing are as deep in our civilizational psyche as practically any other concept. Of course, clothes are not only about making a distinction between man and woman. Clothes are also about culture and values. When we look at someone, we see his clothes immediately. You cannot meet people and ignore their clothes. They scream out at you. You will always remember something about what someone wears. It’s not only the colors or the fabric. You communicate with your clothing. Clothes tell the world who you are, where you are from, and even what you believe — whether you like it or not. Clothes are an acute aesthetic manifestation and representation of both culture and sex. How much “gender confusion” was there when women wore dresses and skirts regularly and men wore ties and jackets every week? Very little. It’s not that those things were the only things preventing the tragic chaos and confusion we see today, but those things were part of the broader aesthetic structure that kept order. We live in the world, not only in our minds. When men dressed like men, it kept them strong men. When women dressed like women, it kept them beautiful women. Derelict We read endlessly about the dire state of young men these days. After reading, do you think there is no connection between the nihilistic misery of young men and the fact that a great majority of them look like street urchins? Do you think there is no connection between the depression and social isolation of the boys who wear foolish clothes and those clothes that only remind themselves of how foolish they are? Of course there is a connection. It is clear as day. Young men are being beaten down by their clothes, and no one will help. Claiming that clothes don’t matter and thoughtlessly turning your son over to the mode du jour is surrendering to madness, giving up the fight, abdicating responsibility. It’s a sign of ignorance and unawareness. A traditional value It’s our job as fathers to teach our sons how to dress like men and with a sense of dignity. No one else is going to do it for us. It’s our responsibility. Our boys look up to us. We are their first teachers. This is not a new value. This is a traditional value. Your grandfather learned how to dress from his father and your father from his father. What are you teaching your son? That you don’t care? Or how to dress like a man of the West? If you do not teach your son how to dress, the culture will do it for you. And this culture will not teach him to dress like a man. It will teach him to dress like a slob. It will teach him to dress in a way that depresses him. Our current culture will not try to elevate him. It does not want him to be strong and confident. Counting on the current culture to teach our sons how to dress is equivalent to turning your son loose on the internet all day, every day. You would never do that, would you? Teaching our sons aesthetic values in personal dress is an important part of teaching them how to be men. This value has been terribly neglected in recent decades, and we are tragically living with the consequences. It is chaos, confusion, misery, and an ugly world. Our sons deserve better. Our sons deserve to dress like men.
