The Reality of Wormholes: Are They More Than Just Theory?

The Reality of Wormholes: Are They More Than Just Theory?

In 1935, Albert Einstein and His postdoc Nathan Rosen found a hypothical mathematical spacetime structure that bridges between two separate regions of space, potentially allowing a shortcut between these regions. Travel through the throat could be much faster than travel in the familiar external spacetime that connects them. This is an example of a general class of spacetime structures with two mouths connected by a throat, known as `wormholes.’ In 1962, Robert Fuller and John Wheeler demonstrated that the Einstein-Rosen wormhole is unstable and would pinch off before any particle traverses it. Subsequently, Stephen Hawking, Kip Thorne and collaborators showed that exotic matter with a negative mass (energy) density could stabilize a wormhole and make it hypothetically traversable. Such a substance is known to exist as the `dark energy’ whose repulsive gravity causes the accelerated expansion of the Universe. However, to construct a wormhole one would need to excavate dark energy from the cosmic reservoir and mold it to the shape of a wormhole. We do not know if that is possible since the nature of dark energy is unknown. Visualization of a wormhole (Credit: Public Domain). A traversable wormhole would allow an advanced civilization to travel back in time. This is because time progresses differently inside and outside the wormhole. As a result, synchronized clocks at either end of the wormhole remain synchronized for an observer passing through the wormhole. Imagine observers at one end of the wormhole that encountered time dilation and aged less by moving around or temporarily visiting a gravitational potential well. Such observers would be able to connect to the older end of the wormhole at the same time, and allow the older version of themselves to meet their younger selves. This constitutes a time machine from the point of view of an outside observer. In 1992, Stephen Hawking proposed the `chronology protection conjecture,’ arguing that the laws of physics prevent time travel, making the Universe safe for historians. Since we do not have a predictive theory that unifies quantum mechanics and gravity, we do not know whether Hawking’s conjecture is true. If it is, then traversable wormholes cannot be constructed by advanced extraterrestrial civilizations. This set of arguments suggests that if we ever discover alien visitors near Earth that took advantage of wormholes to travel faster than light, we would know that Hawking’s conjecture is wrong and that time travel is possible. Their scientific feat would have major implications to the theory we develop for quantum gravity. It will also raise ethical questions, such as whether we should request access to their time machine and go back in time to kill Adolf Hitler before the Holocaust. Such an act would allow me to bring to life 65 members of my father’s family who died in Nazi concentration camps. Having access to a time machine as a tool for correcting human history is one possible benefit of encountering alien quantum-gravity gadgets. Another would involve travel to distant locations in the cosmos within a human lifetime through a wormhole. Which one should we choose to use first? My personal priority would be to fix human history before embarking on interstellar trips. This is because we know what needs to be fixed in our past but we do not know which interstellar destination is worthwhile. Encountering the technological products of advanced extraterrestrial scientists could be very helpful to our own scientific progress. We discovered quantum mechanics and General Relativity only a century ago, and we have a lot to learn. Last week, I had a delightful dinner in the company of string theorists from Harvard’s Black Hole Initiative. Three of them sat next to me, and so I could not resist the temptation of asking them: “In case we discover a mini black hole in the solar system and experimentalists will be able to access it and test quantum gravity theories like string theory, would you encourage full funding for the experimentalists to pursue this task even if the results could potentially invalidate your lifelong work on string theory?” They all replied: “Absolutely, yes.” I therefore noted: “Well, that demonstrates that deep inside you are real physicists and not mathematical physicists.” The post The Reality of Wormholes: Are They More Than Just Theory? appeared first on Anomalien.com.

MRC’s Bozell and Schneider Call Out Free Speech Turncoats in Blistering Op-Ed

MRC President Brent Bozell and MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider blasted key leaders of the Democratic Party for making a sharp left turn against Americans’ First Amendment freedoms.  Bozell and Schneider penned an op-ed for The Daily Wire, promoting a new MRC Free Speech America study exposing the incredible contrast between past statements attacking free speech by every twenty-first-century Democratic presidential nominee and their present statements and actions. Bozell and Schneider hammered all of them for abandoning free speech principles. In particular, the authors tore into President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for tearing up past promises of respect for free speech by using government agencies to pressure social media companies to censor the opposition. “Today’s Democrats, led by Kamala Harris, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, are not just tiptoeing around the edges of censorship; they’re creating an Orwellian nightmare where the state is being called upon to regulate speech and to determine what is fit to be heard in the public square.” Conservatives are under attack! Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called hate speech and equal footing for conservatives. Democrat campaign staffer fired after shady-looking incident at Montana ballot box caught on video

The national Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reportedly fired one of its staffers in Montana after video suggested he handled a ballot box inappropriately, prompting speculation about possible "tampering."Surveillance cameras keep continual watch over all ballot boxes in Montana, including the one affixed to a column outside the Glacier County Satellite Office on the Blackfeet Reservation. On Wednesday, news broke that Laszlo Gendler, a DSCC employee, had apparently been caught on video touching the ballot box twice during a visit to the Glacier County office and even tugged on it at one point. He also apparently snapped a photo of the box with his cell phone.'The activity was certainly highly suspicious and concerning.'Glacier County elections administrator Crystal Cole immediately flagged the video and sent it to Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen (R), who sounded the alarm bell about potential "tampering.""Footage has emerged of a D.C. Democratic staffer tampering with a ballot drop box in Glacier County," Jacobsen said in a statement, according to KRTV. "This isn’t speculation — it is on camera. ... We are currently investigating this matter with the help of law enforcement and will continue to observe the actions of the Democratic Party of Montana under close watch."In a statement to Blaze News, Maggie Abboud, spokesperson for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, described the video as "incredibly damning."Even DSCC spokesperson David Bergstein admitted that the man in the video had broken protocol regarding ballot boxes."Poll observers are instructed not to touch ballot boxes. This individual was attempting to ensure a new ballot box was secured to the wall, neither the ballot box nor ballots were affected," Bergstein said in a statement, according to the New York Post. When Cole confronted Gendler about the incident, he did tell her he had been sent "to see how secure the box was," Cole wrote in a report to Jacobsen, according to Times Now. Cole seemed dubious about that explanation, noting that "the MT Dem Party failed to notify the Elections office" that it had dispatched anyone to test the security of the ballot box."The suspect and details were turned over to Glacier County law enforcement," added Richie Melby, a spokesman for the secretary of state’s office, in a statement to the Post. "Our elections director was pleased that the individual was not able to remove the ballot box from the wall, although, as the election administrator signified in her email, the activity was certainly highly suspicious and concerning."However, Glacier County deputies investigated the matter and released Gendler without pressing charges."After a review of the evidence, including the footage, we have determined that the issue is unsubstantiated. The behavior captured in the video does not constitute a legitimate attempt to tamper with the ballot box or the electoral process," said Glacier County Attorney Terryl Matt.Nevertheless, Gendler has been fired, according to KRTV and the Post. The video of Gendler comes as Republican challenger Tim Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, appears to be on track to oust U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (D) from the seat he has held for more than 15 years."Jon Tester and Senate Democrats know they are losing to Tim Sheehy, so it appears they are trying to cheat in the election," Abboud added in her statement to Blaze News.Should Sheehy prevail, Republicans stand a good chance of retaking control of the Senate since former Gov. Jim Justice, a former Democrat, is expected to win the West Virginia Senate seat soon to be vacated by Sen. Joe Manchin (D), who is retiring, the Post noted.Democrat Senate candidates in the Rust Belt also face tough challenges from their Republican counterparts.Like Blaze News? CNN contributor pops Democrats' bubble on why comparing Trump to Hitler doesn't work

CNN contributor Scott Jennings explained prior to the network's town hall with Vice President Kamala Harris that the tired attack line of "Trump is Hitler" does not work anymore because Democrats have been using it against other GOP leaders for years."At what point do the Republican Party, do the Republicans say, ‘You know what? For the sake of country, country over party, even though it‘s uncomfortable, even though it‘s something I may not — it makes me feel — it turns me up because I agree with the policy, this guy shouldn‘t be in office'?” former Harris staffer Jamal Simmons asked, according to the video.Jennings responded by noting that not only does the "Hitler" attack line not work, but Democrats don't believe it themselves as evidenced by candidates in swing states running ads showing their work with Trump. Harris did not tone down her rhetoric when asked by Anderson Cooper whether she thinks Trump is a fascist even though she had not used that label for Trump in the past.“It probably will shock Kamala Harris and the rest of her campaign staff to learn that there are incumbent Democrat U.S. senators in this country right now running television ads touting all their work with this modern-day Hitler. I wonder if Kamala Harris tonight, in our town hall meeting, will call for them to take these ads off the air touting their work with this Hitler?" Jennings said."Now, I‘m calloused on this Hitler business because I lived through the Bush years, and I used to peer out my window onto Pennsylvania Avenue, and I saw everybody marching around in their brown uniforms, signs up, ‘Bush is Hitler, Bush is Hitler.’ And then they did it to John McCain. They did it to Mitt Romney. They‘ve done it to Donald Trump. Even did it to Paul Ryan, I recall, at one point," Jennings continued. "So I‘ve heard it all before."During CNN's town hall, Harris did not tone down her rhetoric when asked by Anderson Cooper whether she thinks Trump is a fascist even though she had not used that label for Trump in the past."Yes, I do. Yes, I do," Harris emphasized.Harris further touted endorsements from people who worked in the Reagan, Bush Sr., W. Bush, and Trump administrations as evidence.Like Blaze News? Dallas Cowboys reportedly try to get their Pro Bowl kicker out of jury duty — but he refuses

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey missed practice Wednesday and was later revealed to be attending jury duty during that time.Aubrey, a second-year kicker who went to Notre Dame, was listed as a nonparticipant at the most recent Cowboys practice after being selected for a 12-person jury in Tarrant County, Texas. The felony assault case pertains to a second-degree strangulation charge against the defendant.Football reporter Nick Harris broke the news and noted that the Cowboys tried to get Aubrey out of the jury duty stint, but the kicker refused. Aubrey reportedly insisted that he fulfill his civic duty on Wednesday — and moving forward — despite the possibility of missing pivotal regular season games.Aubrey is expected to return to court Thursday and Friday, but the judge reportedly will take his football schedule into consideration."There's not a clear timetable for how long the case will last," Harris wrote. The reporter added, "This case does not require jurors to be sequestered."With jurors being released for nights and weekends, Aubrey will be available for this Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers, which has a 7:20 p.m. CT kickoff. This case does not require jurors to be sequestered, meaning he will be available for Sunday’s game in San Francisco if the case lasts that long.— Nick Harris (@NickHarrisFWST) October 23, 2024 At the same time, Aubrey could end up missing several more practices and even a game if the case persists on weekends. The Cowboys play afternoon games on both Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, visiting the Atlanta Falcons before returning home to play the Philadelphia Eagles.Media members began questioning Aubrey's whereabouts when he was not seen during the media portion of the Cowboy's practice Wednesday. Later that day, multiple eyewitnesses reported seeing Aubrey serving on a jury in a Fort Worth courthouse.Juror information has not been made public.Aubrey played in the United States Football League prior to the NFL; he already has an NFL record of eight-straight games with a field goal over 50 yards. He made the Pro Bowl in the 2023-2024 season, his first with the Cowboys.'We've all got a civic duty to do'Aubrey isn't the first Cowboy to insist on fulfilling his jury duty.Former Cowboys tight end Jason Witten in 2012 missed morning meetings and his scheduled physical before arriving late to a preseason minicamp due to serving on a jury in Denton County."We've all got a civic duty to do," Witten said at the time, according to ESPN. "Proud to be a citizen and held up my end. It went a little longer than we thought, but it was a good experience. I was just glad I was able to get back in time for practice."Then-coach Jason Garrett stated that Witten is a "good citizen" who "cares about the judicial process" and never considered trying to get out of jury duty."Guys, when you get your summons, don't be skipping out," Witten reportedly said. The tight end donated his jury pay.Like Blaze News? WATCH: The 4 most BONKERS videos of the week

One of Liz Wheeler’s favorite segments of “The Liz Wheeler Show” is when she addresses the most unhinged video clips of the week. From CNN segments and FEMA footage to viral TikToks and Harris campaign ads, Liz exposes and breaks down the lunacy infecting society. This week, the clips feature famous TikToker and certified creep Jeffrey Marsh, a racist Kamala Harris campaign ad, an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper and socialist Bernie Sanders, and footage of FEMA and Border Patrol being inefficient to a level that is actually funny. In the first clip, Jeffrey Marsh – whose entire social media platform is built on the idea of “grooming children into gender disorders,” encouraging them “to cut off contact with their parents if their parents do not ‘affirm’ their gender,” and urging children “to contact him privately via DM” – argues that Trump support is reason enough to cut a family member out of your life. “Should you cut off contact with family members just because they are voting for Donald Trump? Yes. … If they are unwilling to change, they must experience consequences, and you should not withhold those consequences from them. The consequence in this case would be they don't get your beautiful, loving, wonderful presence in their lives – it's over, and they are gone,” said Marsh, sporting a makeup-caked face and frilly blouse. “Not only is Jeffrey Marsh a creep, not only is he grooming children, not only is he obviously dangerous – he was embraced by the Democrat National Committee and invited as a VIP to their convention, which means they endorse what he's doing,” says Liz. In clip #2, a Harris campaign ad attempts to appeal to black men but ends up insulting them instead. In the ad, a handsome, 6’5” black man who earns a six-figure salary and works out talks to several attractive women, all of whom are holding a balloon. Initially, they all are interested in him based on his appearance and income, but when he reveals that he isn’t planning on voting, they all pop their balloons, which is the equivalent of swiping left, or rejecting, someone on Tinder. “Kamala Harris is telling black men that women won't date them if they don't vote for her,” says Liz, adding that this isn’t the first time Harris has insulted black men trying to garner their votes. Liz points to two other insulting examples of Harris trying to win the black male vote. “Last week she put out a video telling black men that she would give them ‘free money’ if they voted for her. She [also] put out a graphic on X promising black men drugs – marijuana – if they voted for her,” says Liz, adding that this approach is “racist because she’s generalizing all black men, saying all [they] care about is drugs, sex, and money.” In the third clip, Bernie Sanders indirectly admits that Kamala Harris is lying when she says she has reversed course on fracking, the Green New Deal, and Medicare for all. When CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Sanders whether or not Harris was making a mistake by abandoning her previous beliefs on those three subjects, Sanders responded with the following: “I think what we're seeing is a coalition of people – more establishment Democrats and progressive Democrats and progressive independents … come together with the goal of defeating a very dangerous candidate, and that is Donald Trump.” Liz easily reads between the lines of Sanders’ answer. “What are the words underneath those words?” she asks. “He admits that Kamala Harris hasn’t rejected his policies – the Green New Deal, Medicare for all, or banning fracking. He believes that Kamala Harris still believes in those things, but he knows that voters reject those things and so Kamala Harris has to lie to voters to trick voters into voting for her.” In the final clip, Border Patrol and FEMA are seen joining forces to help with hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina. Except neither group is actually helping. Although "joining forces" might be a bit misleading. The video shows roughly a dozen agents in official uniforms in a long single-file line passing a small tree limb from person to person until it’s finally dumped in a woodpile. The spectacle can only be described as childish. “This video encapsulates perfectly the inefficiency of government,” laughs Liz, who says she, as a “110-pound woman, could carry more logs than that at one time.” To see the videos and hear more of Liz’s commentary, watch the clip above.
