Following the retirement of long-time member Nicko McBrain, Iron Maiden has announced that Simon Dawson is their touring drummer. Sawson is a former session musician and member of British Lion with Maiden bassist Steve Harris.  “A native of Suffolk, England, Simon first teamed up with Steve Harris back in 2012,” Iron Maiden noted in a statement. “He debuted on three tracks on the first British Lion album and all of the second critically acclaimed ‘The Burning,’ plus the many subsequent tours.” Iron Maiden’s recently completed “‘The Future Past Tour’ consisted of 81 shows to over 1.4 million fans, before wrapping up (on 12/7) in Sao Paulo, Brazil – McBrain’s final show with the band.
