“I grew up in the middle class,” Vice President Kamala Harris says repeatedly to show that she understands what policies would best support the average American. However, Harris’ electric vehicle subsidies don’t help middle- and lower-income households; they go to upper-income households. It’s one of many hypocritical policies of the Biden-Harris administration. This year, the government has issued $2 billion in tax credits for over 300,000 electric-battery and plug-in hybrids—mostly to wealthy households that don’t necessarily need them. Nationally, 14% of households earning over $100,000 own an electric vehicle, compared to 5% of middle-income households and 2% of those earning $40,000 or less, according to a recent Gallup poll. In California, the state leading in electric vehicles, the Top 20 ZIP codes with the highest percentage of EVs have median household incomes above $100,000, while the lowest-income areas have almost no EV ownership. Electric vehicles are simply too expensive for lower- and middle-class households. The electric version of the average compact SUV (the most popular class of cars) costs $53,048—49% more than the $35,722 price tag of the model with an internal combustion engine. The federal government offers up to $7,500 in tax credits for a new electric vehicle, up to $4,000 for used electric vehicles, and up to $40,000 for commercial electric vehicles, all depending on domestic content requirements. Tax credits are designed so that electric vehicles have more American components. However, contrary to congressional intent, a loophole allows people to lease (not buy) EVs without the domestic content restrictions. This benefits foreign automakers, primarily those making cars with components made in China.   The Biden-Harris administration also requires automakers to produce EVs or face financial penalties.  The Environmental Protection Agency finalized strict emission standards that are projected to lead to 68% of new car sales being battery- and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles by 2032. Similarly, the Department of Transportation’s final rule will bring the average fuel economy standard of a light-duty vehicle to 50.4 miles per gallon by model year 2031, a goal that is impossible to meet without EV sales. Currently, the average car runs on 26.9 miles per gallon. An additional 13 states and the District of Columbia have signed up for California’s rules forbidding sales of gasoline-powered cars after 2035. These three sets of regulations will force an oversupply of electric vehicles that will sit unsold on dealership lots. Not only are they too expensive for the average American to purchase, but they also take an hour or more to recharge and lose range in cold or hot climates. People in cold climates are reluctant to purchase EVs because freezing conditions lower the vehicles’ average ranges by about 30%. EV registrations are low in Alaska (2,697), North Dakota (959), and Wyoming (1,139). That’s why 26 Republican state attorneys general recently filed a lawsuit to challenge “unworkable” fuel economy standards that “leverage the weight of the federal government to require auto manufacturers to produce more electric vehicles.” By a vote of  215-191, the House of Representatives last month passed a bill to repeal the EPA’s “out-of-touch regulation,” in the words of Rep. John James, R-Mich., sponsor of the legislation. Other challenges to EVs make them impractical to many Americans, such as poor charging infrastructure and long-distance challenges. Those were two of the top three reasons why 46% of current EV owners say they would switch back to an internal combustion engine vehicle, according to the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. In the aftermath of two recent hurricanes, Helene and Milton, electric vehicles exploded into flames and were difficult to extinguish, posing one more problem for EVs in areas vulnerable to natural disasters. The choice of what car to buy should depend on the drivers, whose preferences are tecbased on affordability, climate, range, and other design features. It’s clear now that drivers in hurricane-prone zones have one more reason to choose gas-powered vehicles. The corporate press pulled out all the stops to promote “The Apprentice,” Hollywood’s latest attack on Donald Trump. Story after story after story. Fawning interviews. False claims that the film is a fair assessment of Trump’s rise to power. The latter is Hollywood fiction. And it all failed. Miserably.      “The Apprentice” couldn’t crack the Top 10 in its debut frame, earning a pathetic $1.5 million from 1,740 screens for 11th place. “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” released 31 years ago, earned more on fewer screens ($2.1 million, 1,700). The film follows a young Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan) as he learns his corrupt ways under the tutelage of shady lawyer Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong, “Succession”). “The Apprentice” goes out of its way to demonize its subject in small and huge ways. The controversial rape scene speaks for itself. Director Ali Abbasi fought to keep that in the finished cut despite legal pressure from Team Trump. Ivana Trump denies the rape happened, twice, after initially making the accusation in court. Abbasi and co. know better, apparently. An artist eager to tell a balanced story would certainly leave out a questionable detail, no? No? Other scenes exist to mock Trump with unfounded charges. Consider moments focusing on the mogul’s hair transplants and liposuction surgeries. Did the real Trump undergo either or both?  It’s possible. It’s also not backed by facts. The scenes exist for a simple reason. Humiliate Trump as much as possible. Tell that to the corrupt press, which has been pretending that “The Apprentice” is a sober, and accurate take on Young Trump. Here’s the far-left Deadline pretending just that while blaming MAGA nation for the film’s failure: The Trump campaign clearly sent a message to its faithful that this movie was anti-Trump even if the movie’s intent was to present an even-handed take on the man who would become POTUS. Did Deadline see the movie? Sure, Jan. Politico even acknowledges the studio’s spin on the film. 'It’s just a movie about a human being,' director Ali Abbasi told me this week, reprising a theme about nuance that his team has used to rebut claims that they made an election-season hit piece. Yes, a film hitting theaters weeks before Election Day which shows Trump raping his wife is meant as a nuanced look at the leader. It’s so fair and balanced that Politico compares Stan’s Trump to a young Darth Vader. Politico repeatedly says (wishes?) the film could tip the balance in the upcoming election. Trump is no saint. Making a connection between him and Roy Cohn, brilliantly played by Strong, is a more than reasonable gimmick for a movie like this. The actual film remains a hit piece. Every time a scene suggests Trump has a flicker of humanity, the rug is pulled out from under him. And the viewer. And that’s fine. That’s the story Abassi wanted to tell, and he has every right to tell it. The media should just stop lying and give us the truth.

After the first presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris had a slight edge on Donald Trump — but that edge is now weakening, and her loyal mainstream media is starting to realize it. “Numbers say it, it is a tied game here weeks before the election,” MSNBC pollster Steve Kornacki told Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press” in a recent segment. “Harris had opened up that advantage over Trump going in our new poll,” Kornacki continued. “That advantage has all in the last few weeks in our poll washed away for her.” The polling on the issues of immigration and financial stability lean in favor of Trump while Kamala’s leading in “representing change,” though her numbers have still dwindled on that specific issue since September. “Maybe a reason for that too is remember, she’s the VP in an unpopular administration. Look, we ask [about] Joe Biden’s policies as a president, 'Do you think they’re helping or hurting your family?'” Kornacki says, before showing that almost double the number of people asked say the current administration’s policies are hurting their family. Meanwhile, 44% of people polled believe Trump helped their family while 31% of them say he hurt their family. Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” doesn’t think it looks good for Kamala, explaining that she appears to be in “the doom loop.” “They thought, ‘All right, she couped the old man, now we can just install her and protect, right? We have an entire machine dedicated to protecting her, we have a corporate machine and corporate media, we have Big Tech on our side, we’ll just protect her and hide her,’” Rubin says. “When they realized that the protect and hide wasn’t working as well as they thought, then they thought, ‘Okay, we’ll just put her in these ridiculously easy interviews,’ with the exception of that '60 Minutes' one, which was more difficult, and that one was an abject disaster,” he continues. “But even in the easy ones, she failed because she’s so deeply inauthentic. So the more people find out about her, the less they like her,” he adds.
