2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 in Pure White In 2024, we tested Triumph’s new Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X powered by a single-cylinder engine and priced at $4,995 and $5,595 respectively, so the Triumph Speed Twin 900 is no longer the entry-level option in the Modern Classics lineup. For 2025, the Speed Twin 900 is updated with freshened styling, improved suspension and brakes, and more technology, providing a sophisticated step up from the 400s.  2025 Triumph Speed Twin 900 in Pure White Styling updates include a more sculpted tank, chiseled side panels, and updated throttle-body covers. The muffler is now shorter, and the headlight unit is more compact. The bike gets a new aluminum flip-up filler cap and a simpler design for the footpegs.  The Speed Twin 900 features a new aluminum flip-up fuel cap. Updates to the chassis start with the suspension. Replacing the previous conventional fork is a Marzocchi inverted fork, and in the rear are twin Marzocchi shocks with piggyback reservoirs. Adjustment is limited to rear preload, and rear wheel travel has been slightly reduced from 4.7 inches to 4.3 inches. Also new is a stiffer and lighter aluminum swingarm.  The Speed Twin 900’s brakes also get updated for 2025. The previous axial-mounted front caliper is replaced by a Triumph-branded 4-piston radial caliper pinching a 320mm disc. In the rear is a Nissin 2-piston floating caliper biting a 255mm disc. The bike is fitted with Michelin Road Classic tires on the 18-inch front and 17-inch rear cast-aluminum wheels.  The Speed Twin 900’s new cast-aluminum wheels are wrapped in Michelin Road Classic tires. The riding position has been updated with more available legroom, and the bench seat has a new shape to go with the narrower rear frame. Seat height is 30.7 inches, and an accessory low seat can lower the height to 29.9 inches.  The Speed Twin 900’s bench seat gets a new shape for 2025, which Triumph says provides more legroom and easier stand-over. Regarding the Speed Twin’s tech updates, the bike now includes lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. It comes with two riding modes: Road and Rain, with the latter providing softer throttle response. New instrumentation includes an LCD display to show speed, rpm, and gear, paired with an integrated TFT display for extra info like riding modes. A USB-C socket on the side of the instrumentation allows charging devices while riding.  Instrumentation is updated with an LCD screen paired with an inset TFT display. The TFT screen is compatible with the accessory heated grips and the Bluetooth Connectivity module. The Speed Twin 900’s engine remains the same, a liquid-cooled 900cc Bonneville parallel-Twin with a 270-degree firing order. It makes a claimed 63 hp at 7,500 rpm and 59 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm. It comes with a slip/assist clutch and a 5-speed gearbox. A Kentucky man found himself in a terrifying scenario when he woke up on an operating table as doctors prepared to harvest his organs. Thomas “T.J.” Hoover was declared brain-dead after overdosing on drugs and transported to Baptist Health Richmond Hospital in October 2021. Natasha Miller, one of the individuals whose job was to preserve donated organs for transplantation at the hospital, told NPR that Hoover seemed ‘very much alive’ when wheeled into the operating room. “He was moving around — kind of thrashing. Like, moving, thrashing around on the bed,” Miller told the publication. “And then when we went over there, you could see he had tears coming down. He was crying visibly,” Miller added. “Man comes ‘back to life’ as surgeons began the process of harvesting his body parts after they determined he was de*d. Before the process, the family raised concerns that Hoover was alive because his eyes seemed open and he looked around while being wheeled to the operating room,” Collin Rugg wrote. “They were told that it was a ‘common reflex.’ Hoover had been declared ‘brain de*d’ after an overdose. When Hoover started thrashing and crying, he was sedated and doctors *still* planned on going forward with the organ recovery, according to NPR. The transplant was ultimately cancelled leading to several employees quitting,” he continued. “The Kentucky Attorney General and US Health Services Resources Administration are now reportedly investigating the incident,” he added. I don’t want to have anything to do with it,’ ” Miller says. “It was very chaotic. Everyone was just very upset.” Miller says she overheard the case coordinator at the hospital for her employer, Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA), call her supervisor for advice. “So the coordinator calls the supervisor at the time. And she was saying that he was telling her that she needed to ‘find another doctor to do it’ – that, ‘We were going to do this case. She needs to find someone else,’ ” Miller says. “And she’s like, ‘There is no one else.’ She’s crying — the coordinator — because she’s getting yelled at.” The organ retrieval was canceled. But some KODA workers say they later quit over the October 2021 incident, including another organ preservationist, Nyckoletta Martin. “I’ve dedicated my entire life to organ donation and transplant. Days before, a letter she wrote to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee was read and discussed on the House floor, after it alleged that there is currently outsized pressure on organ collectors, according to the Daily Mail,” Liz Crokin wrote. “Singling out the organ-procurement group KODA, she recalled being pressured to retrieve organs from a patient before he died while he was awake and allegedly pleaded for his life. He later left the facility alive, Martin said – choosing not to name him. KODA is one of 56 federally chartered nonprofits tasked with procuring organs for transplant. A spokesperson said the firm ‘strictly adheres’ to laws and national guidelines set in place by the US government. Organ harvesting and trafficking go hand-in-hand with human trafficking,” she added. The letter went on to claim that when a surgeon refused an officials’ order, Martin and other workers were ordered to find a different surgeon who would do it willingly. They refused as well, she said – allowing the patient to later leave alive after he recovered. The patient’s condition and malady was not made clear by what was read, as other statements sent by alleged witnesses saying they have witnessed similar activity were read as well. All insisted that procurement groups in various states – like KODA – have begun to push workers and surgeons to take organs from patients who were still alive. A liver transplant surgeon at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Robert Cannon, told the committee how he was allegedly told to procure organs from a spontaneously breathing patient, which he said ‘would have been murder.’ Greg Segal, head of an advocacy group that seeks to reform the organ procurement process, alleged another Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) had given potential organ donors doses of fentanyl to hasten their deaths.

I keep saying that 2024 feels like a complete replay of 2016 and we just got another marker to hammer that home….the Al Smith Dinner. President Trump has only spoken at the Al Smith Dinner three times in history, and the 2020 event was very “off” and non-standard as everything was that year: 2016 – During his presidential campaign, where both he and Hillary Clinton were speakers. This event was noted for its particularly contentious atmosphere. 2020 – Both Trump and Joe Biden spoke at a virtual version of the fundraiser due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2024 – Trump headlined the dinner again, delivering remarks that were described as pointed and at times bitter, focusing on criticism towards Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats. So it feels like 2024 is repeating the 2016 cycle right down to the vibe at the Al Smith Dinner. Let me show you what I mean… I know a lot has been posted on this already, but I want to show you everything that jumped out at me, and probably a few things you might have missed. Let’s start with the host, and who else could do it but the man who plays Tim Walz on SNL — Jim Gaffigan. Gaffigan started with this joke which most people loved but I felt was a bit of a groaner: Jim Gaffigan draws audible gasps at the Al Smith dinner:⁰“During the first and only debate, President Trump talked about migrants taking cats and eating them. It's one of the seminal moments of his career, in my opinion. And I thought it was a very good time to flashback to this moment because I think it falls squarely into the "President Trump Has Been Telling Us All Along" file. The event is known for toasts that take on a "roast" vibe. And as in all roasts, some can be hard-hitting but it's meant to be all in good fun. And I thought now was a VERY good time to revisit it. Shall we? When President Trump took the mic, we witnessed something the room was NOT ready for. He started off with some good-natured jabs, but about halfway through the laughs stopped and it was clear he was no longer really joking. I had written more about this before: Do you remember when this happened? It was during the campaigns, before the election. It was at the Al Smith Charity Dinner, where the tradition is a friendly roast of each other. Trump delivered what I believe to be one of his most masterful performances ever. I believe he wrote the entire thing himself. It started out lighthearted and funny, but towards the end he took some real shots and he wasn’t laughing anymore. I believe he was telegraphing exactly what he intended to do to Hillary Clinton and the entire Deep State over the next 8 years. Folks, just look at the crowd shots when the camera pans out…..this is the Lion’s Den of the Deep State, crawling with Swamp Things! President Trump walked right into their den and punched them all in the mouth, and he did it under the guise and covering of comedy. He had them laughing at their future demise, but you can start to see when the laughs turn to genuine concern near the end. I recently came across the video again and whenever I see a link to it, I almost can't help myself from watching it again. It's that good. But a thought struck me this time as I was watching....
