Hades II gets a new location and new pets

Image: Supergiant Games The first major update for Hades II, which is still in early access, is out now, adding things like a new region, the game’s sixth and final weapon, new pets, native support for Macs with M1 chips, and more. The big feature looks to be the new region. You might be able to guess what that region is based on the update’s title — “The Olympic Update” — but if you haven’t played the game yet, I’m not going to say anything else. I’m looking forward to exploring it as soon as I can and trying to take down the boss, who seems to be featured in the update’s release trailer. (I’ll probably try to get there with the new weapon, “Xinth, the Black Coat.”) There are a bunch of other updates, too. Supergiant has added two animal familiars to the game:... Continue reading…

My very brief stint as a race car driver at the F1 Arcade

The F1 Arcade is a simulator. Just... a simpler one. | Photo: David Pierce / The Verge Confidence was my first mistake. As I plopped down in one of the 83 racing simulators in the new F1 Arcade location in Washington, DC, I told the company’s CEO, Adam Breeden, that I’d raced plenty of times before. I picked Semi-Pro difficulty, even as Breeden told me he recommends most first-time arcade visitors pick something simpler. I adjusted the Vesaro simulator, started the race, and caused a six-car pileup on the race’s very first corner. Luckily for me, the F1 Arcade is designed more for fun than fidelity, so my race wasn’t over. It ended four minutes later, in dead-last place, as the onscreen timer mercifully ticked to zero. On a normal day at the arcade, this would signal it’s time for someone else to race. For me, sitting at... Continue reading…

iPad mini 7’s $499 price tag is incredible news for the iPhone SE 4

Apple surprised everyone earlier this week with a low-key iPad mini 7 announcement. We knew the tablet update was coming, and we knew that it would only be a specs update this year. But we were all expecting Apple to hold a press conference later this month to introduce it. The event would unveil the iPad mini 7, M4 MacBook Pro, and other new Mac models. The first thing I did when I saw the iPad Mini 7 press release was to scroll to the bottom and check the release date and price. The iPad mini 7 might be the perfect tablet for me, but that wasn't why I checked the price. I wanted to see how much Apple would charge for the cheapest iPad mini SKU now that it has the same processing power as the iPhone 15 Pro. It turns out that the price did not change. The old base price of $499 gets you a compact tablet with the A17 Pro chip, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. That's a tremendous deal. I think it's even better news for the upcoming iPhone SE 4, which should be the cheapest Apple Intelligence-ready iPhone in Apple's lineup. Continue reading... Excavation Uncovers New Secrets in Ancient Babylon

An ongoing archaeological excavation in the Babylon Governorate of Iraq has yielded 478 artifacts, according to a recent site visit by the local excavation committee. The artifacts discovered at the site include pottery, cylinder seals, and items inscribed with ancient cuneiform script, contributing valuable insights into the ancient Babylonian civilization. A Detailed Look at the Excavation Site The committee, led by Mr. Suhail Al-Tamimi, Director of Excavations, visited Block 19/3, District 38 Fayadia, where the excavation is headed by Qahtan Abbas Hassan Aboud, and consequently issued a press release about the research findings. The excavation area is divided into two key sections: Point A and Point B, each offering unique insights into Babylon's history. Point A is situated in the southern section and covers an area of 6 dunams (approximately 6,000 square meters or 1.5 acres). This area contains two distinct floor levels, the first of which has been eroded due to natural forces and previous disturbances, likely from earlier excavations or environmental factors. However, the second floor remains intact and dates back to ancient Babylon, providing a well-preserved snapshot of the city’s historical architecture. Jimmy Carter Fufills His Final Wish Shortly After Turning 100 Years Old

Jimmy Carter has a really tough spirit, and he is committed to things that matters to him. Despite being in hospice care and losing his beloved wife late year, the former President remains strong in his spirit as he continues to defy all odds and lives each day like it is a miracle. During summer this year, Carter’s grandson, Jason Carter revealed the Centenarian’s dying wish, which got people talking.  Jason affirmed that the ex-president told him his choice of presidential candidate ahead of the upcoming U.S. election and his last wish was to vote for the democrat candidate Kamala Harris as he himself governed the USA as a democrat. People doubted the news as they thought that Carter’s cognitive decline due to his frail health won’t have allowed him to think of such and weigh in on a sensitive issue like that. Jimmy Carter lives up to his dreams Jimmy Carter/ ImageCollect Surprisingly, the president has stayed true to his word and put naysayers to shame as he recently participated in the early voting exercise which took place in Georgia on the 15th of October. It is heartwarming to see Carter fulfill his wish even though so many people find his act jaws dropping as they never thought the ex-president will still be politically inclined at his age. His recent achievement as the oldest USA president to cast a vote comes a few weeks after Carter celebrated his Centenary birthday, which made him the USA president with the longest post-presidency time span of 43 years and still counting. Jimmy Carter/ImageCollect What the future holds for Jimmy Carter It is safe to say that Jimmy Carter is happy with himself and how far he has come in life. The former president boasts of a successful political career and beyond that, he was invested in philanthropic act and promoting equal right during his active day which he still gets recognition for until date. Jimmy Carter/ImageCollect Carter has lived an encompassing life, and it’s either the universe aligned with him or he has mastered the charm of maintaining a balance. The Centenarian had a good hold on his family despite the demands of his job as the U.S. president, and it is not surprising that he lived happily with his wife Rosalynn for 77 years until her death in November 2023.
