The 2024 iPad Mini brings everything it needs for Apple Intelligence. | Apple It’s been three long years since Apple last updated the iPad Mini, but the company is finally turning the page on the sixth-gen model of its smallest tablet. The company announced a refreshed iPad Mini today, and preorders have just opened at Apple with an October 23rd release date. Prices start at $499 for the Wi-Fi-only 128GB configuration, which is double the previous generation’s starting storage. Back in 2021, the sixth-gen iPad Mini was a relatively big update for the dainty tablet, reflecting Apple’s latest design tenets. Electrify America is one of several charging networks included in Nissan’s offering. | Image: Nissan Nissan is starting up an electric vehicle charging network that lets Ariya SUV owners connect and pay at participating third-party charging stations using the MyNissan app. The new “Nissan Energy Charge Network” consists of “90,000 fast chargers” in the US from partner companies Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo. Starting in November, Ariya owners can use a stored payment method in their MyNissan app to start and pay for a charging session with one tap at a station. Nissan also says it “will make available” Tesla Supercharger-compatible NACS adapters for Ariya owners later this year. The two-sided “card” displays a QR code with your Instagram handle, along with other information visible on your profile, including your picture and bio. It will be a long time before Apple introduces the iPhone 18. Still, rumors about it suggest that Cupertino has big plans for the phone's chipset, as the company plans to boost its Apple Intelligence offering. According to leaker Phone Chip Expert on Weibo (via MacRumors), the processors in Apple's iPhone 18 series will use TSMC's next-gen 2-nanometer fabrication process with a new packaging method with 12GB of RAM. Currently, Apple uses the second generation of TSMC's 3nm manufacturing process. While the iPhone 17 is expected to improve this technology, the next big leap will be with the iPhone 18 and the 2nm manufacturing process. In addition, Apple will switch from the Integrated Fan-Out packaging to the Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module. Long story short, this method allows for a tight integration of more complex systems and custom accelerators in one package, which will make the iPhone faster, more reliable, and consume less power. While the leaker doesn't specify if this change is for all iPhone 18 models, they say Apple will add 12GB of RAM for the 2026 lineup. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that Apple plans to increase the memory of the iPhone 17 Pro. If the rumor is accurate, this could mean Cupertino could expand RAM for the base-model iPhone 18 in 2026. More RAM is key to improving the Apple Intelligence platform, which is expected to be powered up in the next couple of years. Currently in beta, Cupertino has high hopes for AI technologies to drive consumers to upgrade to newer devices. By 2026, Apple Intelligence will already be deeply tightened into the iPhone core, as Siri will be able to control and understand context from built-in and third-party apps. Besides that, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature under-panel Face ID with a new front design, while the regular models will add an Always-On Display and ProMotion. The country that was the first to officially adopt Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD, has now added a new discovery from the ancient city of Artaxata, showing a previously unknown early Christian church! The church consists of an octagonal building with cruciform extensions, a design aligning with early Christian memorial structures. Octogonal Churches and Eary Christian Symbolism In the cross-shaped extensions, researchers uncovered remnants of wooden platforms that have been radiocarbon dated to the mid-4th century AD, firmly placing this church within a critical period of early Christian history, reports Universitat Munster. “Octagonal churches were unknown here until now, but we are very familiar with them from the Eastern Mediterranean region, where they first appeared in the 4th century AD,” said Dr Mkrtich H.
