Elvis Presley’s Graceland Estate receives hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, and the late icon’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, recalls living there with so many people around. Regardless of the crowd trooping in and out daily, Riley still enjoys her stay on the property. The 35-year-old graced a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, which details Elvis and Lisa Marie’s short-lived father-daughter bond. Riley— who admitted she made her best childhood memories in the estate, explained that they did not stay there at all times. She added that Lisa Marie would take her and her siblings to Graceland on some nights, and when tours begin in the morning, they would have to wait upstairs until the close of business at 5 PM. She recalled how they would get stuck in Lisa Marie’s room if they did not make it out by 10 AM, as tourists would have begun trooping in by then. Riley Keough at Graceland / Instagram Riley Keough’s next stay at Graceland Following Lisa Marie’s passing last year, Riley took over Graceland as owner and overseer after a legal battle with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, and some fraudsters. Meyers was curious as to why the tour guides could not just pause and let them out during visiting hours, and Riley responded by saying they just never bothered. Riley was in on the prank and promised to try it on her next stay at the grand property. Meyers added that the usual post-tour family dinners should be held mid-tour instead, with the meal table getting roped off as fans pass by.
