125: 10 Good “Euro” Action Platformers for the Atari ST

Join us as we take a look at 10 good #actionplatformer games for the #atarist we also briefly discuss them for the #amiga and otjer 80s computers such as the #c64 and #pc I have chosen the #Atari ST as my platform because it was what I had from 1987 until 1992 and also because these games have most likely been explored in detail for other systems multiple times already, whereas the ST versions probably have not been explored as much as they deserve outside of the few good ST youtube channels that do a great job of covering games for the system. The Hysterical Attempt to ‘Woo’ Real Men for Harris

I get a weekly massage at my condo. The masseuse, Romulo, is fit and muscular enough to meet the rigors of his job. Conversing with him after a recent session, I stepped into the hallway still shirtless as my yuppie friend and neighbor Dan was walking by. “Just had a massage,” I said. Dan glanced at me in only gym shorts and Romulo with his portable rack, and said, “Massage — sure,” then kept walking. Their only hope was to gaslight men into thinking they were who real men wanted to lead them. We laughed because mocking masculine men as gay is always funny, even when we’re the butt of the joke. Though nowhere near as funny as the Democrats’ and Harris-Walz campaign’s desperate attempts to, in the liberal media’s own repellent  word, “woo” real men to Harris. For three years now, I’ve written that the 2024 election would bring a new dynamic to the longtime conflict of left versus right — alpha men versus feminists and, in the lowest strata, feminist men. With the dominant culture fully in the latter camp, progressives ignored me and fellow scribes such as Michael Walsh, Kurt Schlichter, Ann Coulter, Scott Adams, to keep bashing men at will. (READ MORE from Lou Aguilar: A Woman Underground Is A Great Book) Their high temple, Hollywood, erased real men from the screen, including former male-friendly franchises Star Wars (The Acolyte), James Bond (No Time to Die with Daniel Craig’s disgraceful sexless mope 007), Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny with a doddering Indy shown up by a young Girl Boss), Mad Max (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga minus Max), and every comic-book entry (The Marvels, She-Hulk, Joker: Folie a Deux) save one. Consequently, that one, Deadpool & Wolverine, featuring two macho superheroes, was the only one that made any money, a lot of it, more than a billion dollars worldwide. Men still suck, think the Hollywoke elite, denying them, and traditional women, even a glimpse of what built the Industry from Theda Bara to Margot Robbie — female beauty and sexuality. Filmmakers refused to validate what their feminist mistresses label the Male Gaze. To the point that even a starlet who owes her acting, now directing, career to the Male Gaze, Olivia Wilde, can condemn it in her work. Promoting her 2022 anti-male Stepford Wives rip-off Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde boasted, “Men don’t come in this film. Only women here.” Yes, the leftist Democrats had a ball depreciating men, especially white men. The Girl Bosses and their castrati choir never dreamed real men of all races would tell them to go screw themselves. Until they saw their polls, and the shocking man-sized holes in them, even in two groups they took for granted, Blacks and Hispanics. Joe Biden won 90 percent of the black vote in 2020, only 80 percent now back Harris, according to a New York Times — Siena College poll. A worried Barack Obama, seeing his divisive legacy, barely restored by Joe Biden, slipping away, knew just who to blame for this deficit. “Now, I also want to say that that seems to be more pronounced with the brothers,” Obama said. He added, “Part of it makes me think, and I’m speaking to men directly … that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president.” Black men are sexist and racist, Obama suggested, disregarding the thought they may not want a stupid woman of any color as president. They, like most men, may actually admire a white leader who took everything the system had to throw at him, culminating in a bullet to the head, and stood up waving a defiant fist. Polls showed they might even vote for that guy. Horrified, the Democrat chorus girls and their male dancers did what they usually do. They panicked. And that’s when the real entertainment started. The Democrats realized they needed to lure back the men who’d abandoned their presidential ticket. But all they had at the top of it was a cackling silly woman and a creepy nerd. Their only hope was to gaslight men into thinking they were who real men wanted to lead them. Except they had no idea of what real men were, having spent the entire century reviling them. So they turned to the heart of ignorance, Hollywood, to concoct something — specifically Jacob Reed, a writer for Jimmy Kimmel. What Reed came up with is funnier than anything he’s ever written for Kimmel. It’s the most unintentionally hilarious political video ad of all time, call it Man Enough for Harris. Since Reed clearly didn’t know any real men or where to find them, he hired actors, really bad actors, and Democratic activists to portray them — in caricatural activities like weightlifting, motorcycle cleaning, and ranching. They look ridiculous even before they say their ridiculous lines. The first three start with, “I’m a man,” followed by the least manly one saying, “And I’m man enough,” echoed by “I’m man enough to enjoy a barrel proof bourbon,” from someone who probably couldn’t handle a Sloe Gin Fizz. Then an obvious gay man adds, lisp included, “Man enough to cook my steak rare.” It gets more hysterical from there: “I eat carburetors for breakfast.” “I’m not afraid of women.” “They want to control their bodies? I say go for it.” (READ MORE: Real Men Vote for Trump) But my personal favorite line is “Man enough not to ban young women from reading Little Women,” from the bourbon proof fat guy. No man on Earth would say that line. Because only a Hollywood clown like Jacob Reed would think conservatives want to ban Little Women from school libraries rather than Gender Queer — A Memoir. Of course, the ad backfired, drawing widespread mockery. “This isn’t parody?” Scott Adams tweeted. “How can this be real????????” Andrew Klavan posted, “This ad makes me wish I supported Kamala Harris, so I could see this ad and change my mind.” “Apparently, the only men those working for the Harris campaign know are Doug Emhoff and Tim Walz,” tweeted Margot Cleveland of The Federalist. ______ Looking for the ideal mystery for Christmas? Read my new political thriller novel The Washington Trail. Because in a turbulent election year, politics can be murder. I’ll be discussing and signing The Washington Trail at Books & Books in Coconut Grove, Florida on Thursday, October 24th, 6:30 PM. Hope to meet some of you there.
