Jesus Ayala, 19, of #lasvegas #nevada, accused of intentionally killing retired police chief Andreas Probst, 64, in a hit-and-run, has been deemed incompetent to stand trial

Judge Christy Craig ordered Ayala to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. Doctors believe Ayala has "severe brain damage."

📣I'm not a part of the legal system, but surely justice requires that he's locked up for life regardless of his apparent brain damage. What are the options here, you let him off and back onto the streets? A literal killer. No. Lock him up regardless.

A new case was filed against Ayala for robbery & grand larceny. Ayala's lawyer questioned the new charges amid competency issues.

Ayala & co-defendant Jzamir Keys, 17, faced multiple charges for the August 2023 murder captured on video

The teens were allegedly on a crime spree, hitting another cyclist before killing Probst. Ayala bragged he'd be out in 30 days when arrested. He also faces attempted murder charges in a separate group attack
