Mitch’s Warning as He Pushes Us Toward War with Russia

Former Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell warned that the world is in a “very dangerous place” similar to the period before World War II ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House. The Kentucky senator spoke out against isolationism within the GOP and Trump’s “America First” policies in an interview with The Financial Times published on Wednesday. “We’re in […] The post Mitch’s Warning as He Pushes Us Toward War with Russia appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

‘This Is How You Win A Break-Up’: Hosts Of ‘The View’ Mock Newly-Appointed Ambassador Guilfoyle

The hosts of ABC’s “The View” weighed in on rumors that Donald Trump Jr., President-elect Donald Trump’s oldest son, had split from longtime fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle, responding on Thursday to the news that she’d been appointed to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Greece. In typical fashion, the midday talk show’s hosts — all of whom have expressed intense dislike for the president-elect and his family — used the news to bash the Trumps, saying that it must be a relief for Guilfoyle to no longer be forced to “deal with” Trump Jr. WATCH: The View finally finds a Trump appointee they like: Kimberly Guilfoyle. Alyssa Farah Griffin: “This is how you win a breakup.” Sunny Hostin: “She is winning. She doesn’t have to deal with Don Jr anymore.” Joy Behar: “Is Greece far enough?” pic.twitter.com/YKD9Hiqt51 — Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) December 12, 2024   “I just want to give credit to my girl Kimberly Guilfoyle,” cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin said, adding, “This is winning a break-up, I am sorry. I’m out here maybe playing checkers on a good day, she is playing chess. She gets to live in Athens in a residence paid for by the Greek government —” There was a brief disagreement between the cohosts over who actually would pay for the residence (the U.S. government foots the bill for that) after which Griffin continued, suggesting that Guilfoyle had simply been playing along with the Trumps for months in order to get what she wanted out of the deal. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “So she is just living luxury, she’s probably for months been picking out her outfits, planning her new Greek boyfriends, while carrying on in public — this is great, this is how you win a breakup,” she laughed. “I agree,” cohost Sunny Hostin jumped in, adding, “She’s a winner. She is winning. She doesn’t have to deal with Don Jr. anymore. Maybe she does. Maybe they’re polyamorous. Who knows? All I know is she’s gonna be in Greece. She’s going to be enjoying the sun. And I’m not mad at her.” Cohost Joy Behar offered her thoughts as well, asking, “Is Greece far enough? I mean, don’t they need an Ambassador to the South Pole or something?” Trump Jr. was spotted holding hands with socialite Bettina Anderson in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday, prompting questions about the relationship. Neither Guilfoyle nor Trump Jr. has addressed those questions, but the president’s son did respond to Guilfoyle being named ambassador. “I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First,” he posted. I am so proud of Kimberly. IG Says FBI Had Dozens Of Informants In D.C. On Jan 6, Including In Capitol

IG Says FBI Had Dozens Of Informants In D.C. On Jan 6, Including In Capitol

The FBI had at least 26 informants in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021, the day of the U.S. Capitol riot, including some who committed offenses but are not among the hundreds who have been charged with crimes, the inspector general for the Department of Justice said in a report released on Thursday. Informants, or confidential human sources (CHSs) as they are called by the U.S. government, are used by law enforcement for various investigations, yet the sheer number of them suspected to have been in the crowd on January 6 has fueled concerns about intelligence failures and doubts about whether they acted appropriately. The new report said the inspector general’s team determined three informants were tasked by FBI field offices in the days leading up to the January 6 certification of the presidential election results with the “required approval” by the FBI’s Washington Field Office to travel to D.C. for events to report on “domestic terrorism subjects” who were possibly going to be in attendance. A review by the watchdog found that these three CHSs and another 23 FBI informants who were in D.C. for January 6 events did not receive authorization to enter the Capitol or a restricted area, “or to otherwise break the law” on January 6. The inspector general’s report also stressed that none of the informants were directed by the FBI to “encourage others” to commit illegal acts on January 6. However, the inspector general’s team determined, four informants entered the Capitol during the riot and another 13 of them entered a restricted area around the building, “which was a security perimeter established in preparation for” the certification process. Despite this finding, none of the CHSs have been prosecuted to date, the watchdog added. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE A footnote in the report included a response from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., which said it “generally has not charged those individuals whose only crime on January 6, 2021 was to enter the restricted grounds surrounding the Capitol, which has resulted in the Office declining to charge hundreds of individuals; and we have treated the CHSs consistent with this approach.” The report said the inspector general’s team determined that “many” of the informants provided “relevant” information related to the January 6 electoral certification and a few also gave details about the riot as it occurred. Information provided included particulars related to the Oath Keepers, some of whom were later found guilty of seditious conspiracy and sentenced to prison. Still, the report said the information was “no more specific than, and was consistent with, other sources of information” about the potential for violence on January 6. And, the inspector general’s team noted, a review of FBI field offices did not “identify any potentially critical intelligence related to a possible attack on the Capitol on January 6 that had not been provided to law enforcement stakeholders” prior to that day. The watchdog said it found no evidence the FBI had undercover employees in the “protest crowds” or at the Capitol on January 6, which FBI officials stressed would have been against the bureau’s policy with regard to First Amendment-protected events “absent some investigative authority.” A Washington Field Office official told the inspector general’s team he denied a request to have an undercover employee “engage in investigative activity” on that day. One issue raised by the watchdog was that some of the intelligence obtained by informants was not “adequately shared” with the Washington Field Office or, if it was shared, was not sufficiently followed up on by the office. In its recommendations, the inspector general advised the FBI to “assess” how it prepares for “potential domestic security issues” that are not designated National Special Security Events to help ensure “clarity” of responsibilities. The FBI, in its response, said it “continues to disagree” with some of the “factual assertions” in the watchdog’s report, but said it accepted the recommendation. It also noted that the Department of Homeland Security has designated the 2025 certification as a National Special Security Event, which was not the case in 2021, but was “nonetheless committed” to assessing policies and procedures for further events that do not receive such a ratcheted-up level of security.

Tennessee Lawmaker Has Plan To Crack Down On Sending Abortion Pills Into State

A Republican lawmaker in Tennessee introduced legislation this week that would penalize groups or individuals that mail abortion pills into the Volunteer State. Rep. Gino Bulso (R- Brentwood) introduced the “Unborn Child Protection Act” on Monday to crack down on the number of illegal abortion pills that have been sent into Tennessee despite the state’s strong pro-life protections. The legislation would make individuals or groups sending pills into Tennessee liable for up to $5 million if the pill resulted in the death of an unborn child. “A person or entity, including, but not limited to, a manufacturer, distributor, seller, or reseller, of an abortion-inducing drug shall not mail or deliver an abortion-inducing drug into this state,” the text of the bill says. “Notwithstanding another law to the contrary, a person or entity who mails or delivers an abortion-inducing drug into this state and the mailing or delivery results in the death of an unborn child is strictly liable in the amount of five million dollars ($5,000,000) in damages for the death of the unborn child.” After Roe v. Wade was overturned, a number of robust pro-life laws went into effect in states like Tennessee that on paper banned all abortions in the state. However, leftist activists have eluded these bans by shipping pills directly in the mail to women seeking to end the life of their unborn child. A Daily Wire investigation earlier this year revealed how a network of leftist activists have been shipping unregulated foreign abortion pills across the country with no age verification, no prescription, and no concern about state laws that may ban medication-induced abortions. For less than $100, anyone can order abortion drugs such as mifepristone and misoprostol online without a prescription. Age is not verified nor is a medical professional ever consulted, meaning anyone, including young girls, can easily get their hands on the pills after brief interactions on a shady website. Bulso told The Tennessean that he introduced the bill because he had learned of pills being shipped into the state. “I learned that there were some young ladies in Tennessee who had ordered and received abortion pills through the mail,” he said. “I began thinking about what else we might be able to do, both to deter folks from breaking the law and to provide a civil remedy to the family of an unborn child who’s killed because abortion pills were illegally sent into the state.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE One of the major organizations promoting the shipping of abortion pills to red states is Plan C, which describes itself as a “public health creative campaign” composed of public health advocates, researchers, social justice activists, and digital strategists. “No amount of threat or fear will be successful in stopping abortion pills from entering Tennessee by mail,” Plan C co-founder Elisa Wells told The Tennessean. President Joe Biden’s FDA allows abortion pills, namely Mifepristone, to be sent by mail per the Mifepristone REMS program, but the pills must be “dispensed by or under the supervision of a certified prescriber or by certified pharmacies for prescriptions issued by certified prescribers.” An increasing number of abortions are being done via abortion pills and it is impossible to know how many are happening via mail-order abortion drugs.

Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty In Chair-Throwing Incident

Morgan Wallen entered a guilty plea on Thursday, admitting to throwing a chair off the roof of a bar in downtown Nashville earlier this year. As a result of his plea, he will spend seven days in a DUI education center and two years on supervised probation. On Thursday, the 31-year-old country singer accepted the plea deal including two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment — after he was initially charged with three felonies for the chair-throwing incident outside Chiefs Bar on April 7, The Tennessean reported. Wallen’s attorney Worrick Robinson IV said, in a statement to People after court, “Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.” Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty to 2 Misdemeanor Charges, Sentenced to Probation & a Week in Jailhttps://t.co/bQpePm1z1Y — billboard (@billboard) December 12, 2024 Wallen was initially charged with three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct after he threw a chair off the 6th-floor roof of the Nashville bar.  Robinson issued a statement later confirming the incident. “At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct,” the statement read. “He is cooperating fully with authorities.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE The “Whiskey Glasses” hitmaker later addressed the arrest himself and made it clear he was not “proud” of what happened outside Chiefs Bar. “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” Wallen wrote. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.” “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe,” he added. “Regarding my tour, there will be no change.” Following the bar incident, the Nashville City Council voted down plans for the singer to have a 20-foot neon sign on the outside of his six-story bar advertising “Morgan Wallen’s This Bar,” the Tennessean noted. The council members voted 30-3 against the proposed signage because of the country singer’s arrest and a video capturing Wallen using the N-word after a drunken night in January 2021. The singer later apologized and said he was both “embarrassed and sorry.” “I don’t want to see a billboard up with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs,” At-large Council member Delishia Porterfield said. Metro Councilmember Jordan Huffman said Wallen’s actions and past comments should not be applauded, WZTV Fox 17 Nashville reported. “He gives all of us a bad name,” Huffman said. “His comments are hateful, his actions are harmful and he [doesn’t] belong in this town as far as I’m concerned.” “I’m tired of this city bending over to just make anybody happy that makes a comment that they want to,” he added. “We continue to go down this road.” Related: Morgan Wallen Won’t Be Getting His Name On New Bar Due To His ‘Harmful Actions’

White House: Feds Cannot ‘Corroborate’ Mysterious Drone Sightings Over New Jersey

The U.S. government has no evidence to “corroborate” the sightings of what are suspected to be large drones flying over New Jersey and other parts of the East Coast, White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby said on Thursday. “Car-sized” drones have been seen over the past couple of weeks, unnerving residents in New Jersey and elsewhere. Some have been spotted near military sites and President-elect Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster. The FBI is investigating, but so far has no answers. On Wednesday, Rep. Jeff Van Drew revealed that “qualified sources” told him the drones are coming from an Iranian “mothership” off the East Coast of the U.S., although a Pentagon spokeswoman told reporters at a news conference there was “no truth” to the assertion. RELATED — ‘Amateur Hour’: GOP Rep Calls BS On Pentagon’s Response To Mystery Drones Kirby affirmed the Pentagon’s denial, declaring, “We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat or have a foreign nexus.” The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating the “sightings” and are “working closely” with state and local law enforcement to “provide resources using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin,” Kirby continued. John Kirby on drone activity in and around New Jersey: "We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat or have a foreign nexus… We have not been able to…corroborate any of the reported visual sightings." pic.twitter.com/xfxFaJQUaN — CSPAN (@cspan) December 12, 2024 “Using various sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities, we have not been able to, and neither have state or local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the reported visual sightings,” Kirby said. “To the contrary,” he added, “upon review of available imagery it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.” Kirby said the U.S. Coast Guard has “confirmed” that there is no evidence of foreign-based coastal vessels and insisted that there are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted airspace. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “That said, we certainly take seriously the threat that can be posed by unmanned aircraft systems which is why law enforcement and other agencies continue to support New Jersey and investigate reports, even though they have uncovered no malicious activity or intent,” he said. Kirby said the reported sightings “highlight a gap in authorities” and therefore the White House encourages Congress to “pass important legislation that will extend and expand existing counter-drone authorities.” Such an expansion would help ensure “we are better prepared to identify and mitigate any potential threats to airports or any other critical infrastructure and so that state and local authorities are provided all the tools they need to respond to such threats as well,” Kirby said. .@JacquiHeinrich grills John Kirby on the drones: "The analysis thus far in an investigation that is ongoing has not revealed any national security or malicious intent, or criminal activity." pic.twitter.com/XQz26ERQY7 — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) December 12, 2024 Kirby later said that he “cannot characterize for you definitely” what the sightings may be and stated that an analysis so far “has not revealed any national security or malicious intent, or criminal activity.” He also said: “We’re at the beginning here, not the end.”

‘Think Twice’: NFL Star Quarterbacks Address Recent Burglaries

NFL star QBs Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa addressed the recent burglaries affecting players in the league following a string of break-ins over the last month during games. On Wednesday, Cincinnati Bengals QB Burrow spoke to members of the press after he became the latest athlete to have his home broken into while he was on a road trip with his team. “Obvioulsy, everybody has heard what has happened,” Burrow said at a press conference. “I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one and way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share.” It came after the Hamilton County’s Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WLWT that Burrow’s $7.5 million Ohio home was burglarized and ransacked during Cincinnati’s 27-20 win over the Cowboys in Texas on Monday. The outlet reported that a 911 call came in from a woman whose daughter was staying at the QB’s home, saying, “Someone is trying to break into the house right now.” “My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house,” the mom added. “She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside. She said someone was in the house.” ? Amidst the recent security concerns around NFL players’ houses, Tua Tagovailoa reveals he has hired personal security “Just let that be known, they are armed… I hope if you decide to go to my house, you think twice.” (@MiamiDolphins) #GoFins pic.twitter.com/v3wpWfAETH — FinsXtra (@FinsXtra) December 11, 2024 A second 911 call came from the person staying at Burrow’s house, saying, “Someone broke into my house. It’s like completely messed up.” Following Burrow’s burglary, Miami Dolphins QB Tagovailoa warned criminals to “think twice” before hitting his home. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE “We got personal security to take care of all of that. When we’re on the road, we’ve got someone with my wife, got someone also at the house, surveying the house,” Tagovailoa said. “So I hope that if you decide to go to my house, you think twice,” he added, noting his security is armed. The NFL recently issued a security alert to players and teams following two other break-ins at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. In a memo obtained by the Associated Press, the league said homes of professional athletes have become “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.” The memo labeled the transnational crime rings “well-organized, sophisticated,” and urged the players to safeguard valuables and avoid publicly sharing check-ins on social media or any information about their homes and any luxury items they might own, NBC News noted. Officials noted that the homes are specifically being targeted when players are at their games. A South American crime ring is believed to be the culprit in at least the Chiefs burglaries, the New York Post reported.
