Texas Congressman Chip Roy (R) demanded Thursday that the FBI and Justice Department preserve all records of its prosecution of peaceful pro-life protesters under the FACE Act.  In a letter first shared with The Daily Wire, Roy called on FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland to take steps to keep all documentation of their Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) cases. The FACE Act is a Clinton-era law that makes it a federal crime to physically obstruct the entrance to an abortion facility.  Roy, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, has long called for the FACE Act to be repealed because of its disproportionate use against pro-lifers. He told Biden administration officials that he remained “concerned with the Biden-Harris Administration’s continued weaponization of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act against pro-life Americans.” “As the Subcommittee continues to conduct oversight over the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) enforcement of the FACE Act, serious questions remain about the disparity in prosecutions between Americans supporting life and the violent attacks on pregnancy resource centers that occurred in the wake of the leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” Roy wrote.  Data shows that 97% of all FACE prosecutions since the law’s inception have been against pro-lifers, even though the law was passed to protect churches and pregnancy centers. “Congress has a sacred duty to preserve the rights of the American people, including the First Amendment, against any overreach by the executive branch,” Roy said. “As we examine how to best protect Americans’ fundamental freedoms, the Subcommittee must first understand how the DOJ and FBI use the FACE Act.” Peaceful pro-life protesters across the country, from Tennessee to Washington, D.C., have received prison time in FACE Act cases. Meanwhile, a growing number of crisis pregnancy centers have been attacked in the wake of the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. At least 94 centers have been vandalized since the draft of the decision to overturn Roe leaked in May 2022.  Roy said that the FBI and Justice Department should take steps to retain all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information, from past, present, and future prosecutions.  The Biden-Harris administration has frequently paired FACE Act prosecutions with conspiracy against rights charges, a Reconstruction-era measure that was designed to crack down on the Ku Klux Klan. A conviction on the conspiracy charge could carry a penalty of over 11 years in prison and hundreds of thousands in fines. Efforts to have the FACE Act struck down are underway. The Thomas More Society has filed several appeals to convictions of pro-lifers that are currently making their way through the courts. “FACE always was about protecting one thing and that was abortion,” Thomas More Society lawyer Steve  Crampton said last month. “Since the Dobbs decision and the overturn of Roe, abortion is no longer recognized as a federally protected right. So FACE is an act without really a purpose.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been given a date for his upcoming trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges filed in September. The music mogul attended a hearing on Thursday during which it was announced that his trial will begin May 5, 2025, in Manhattan. Combs appeared in court wearing a beige prison uniform and sitting beside his attorneys. US District Judge Arun Subramanian issued a gag order preventing his attorneys or prosecutors from discussing the case publicly or with the media. Combs’ family, including his six children and his mother, were in attendance at the hearing. The rap artist was seen mouthing “I love you” to the group and putting his hand to his heart, per BBC. The 54-year-old was arrested in September. Federal authorities allege Combs had “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes,” per a U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York.  Prosecutors also said Combs “engaged in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals. This abuse was, at times, verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual,” as The Daily Wire previously reported. Combs is also facing 120 or more additional lawsuits in the near future, including complaints from at least 25 minors. Attorney Tony Buzbee said that his law firm, along with California firm AVA Law Group, would be filing the cases individually rather than as part of a class action suit. The rapper’s mother issued a statement addressing the charges, saying, “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.” Combs pleaded not guilty to federal charges and has been denied bail twice.

Vice President Kamala Harris has a major problem with male voters: they don’t like her. The Democrats’ de facto 2024 candidate, propelled to the top of the ticket by the shockwave of President Joe Biden’s unceremonious ouster from the race, can’t convince men that she’s right for the job. As the obviously troubling internal poll numbers trickled in, the campaign has tried a number of strategies to build back support — among them, deploying her honesty-challenged running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), and embattled second gentleman Doug Emhoff — but thus far, nothing has appeared to stick. The answer, apparently, was to bring in former President Barack Obama, who proceeded to scold men — particularly black men — for not falling in line and blindly following the vice president into four more years of bad fiscal policy, unlimited abortions, and open borders, all topped off with word salads blaming them on someone else. “And you are thinking about sitting out?” Obama asked. “Part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.” But CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings wasn’t sure the Obama strategy would be any more effective than anything the campaign had previously tried. He first of all admits that they’re not enthusiastic about her. He said, ‘You just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president and you’re coming up with other alternatives and reasons for that.'” Jennings concluded by saying that it was all a part of the Democrats’ usual playbook to insult anyone who didn’t respond positively to persuasion. “Obama, specifically, when he was having trouble with rural voters in Pennsylvania, go back all the way into his campaigns, he insulted them about their culture and values,” he said. “I don’t think it’s helpful to insult a group of people who are already not enthusiastic about your campaign, but I think that’s what he did today … The story tonight is they’re struggling with men, Obama’s insulting men, and they’re out saying, ‘Let’s fix it by sending Tim Walz out and hiring Mitt Romney, it’s crazy to me!”

Do you think that that’s neat too?” the film’s director and Babylon Bee Editor-in-Chief Kyle Mann asked Knowles during an interview.  The podcast host replied, “I don’t mean this in any sort of derogatory fashion, I mean this in a purely clinical way. I just have to know – are you retarded?” Knowles is no stranger to debating people who have no concept of what actually happened on January 6. A recent exchange Knowles had with a college student went viral on X for good reason.  The student laid out his argument, incensed that there was any disagreement during the certification process.  “So you’re saying there was a controversy over who had really won the electors in a state and there were two sides who were disagreeing over that, and so they were trying to work out – during the certification process – on January 6, the worst day in history of the republic – what to do about it,” Knowles said. “So my question to you is, is there any historical precedent for that? For what you call, the ‘fake elector scheme?’” The student gives one example in an individual state, but Knowles responds, “You’re missing the actual historical precedent,” going on to explain the Compromise of 1877. He also brought up contested elections in more recent history, including the 2000 presidential election when Democrats denied that George W. Bush had won.  Knowles laid out the reasons for Republicans contesting the 2020 election, including widespread mail-in ballots following a national lockdown and slowing down the counting of the votes by days or even weeks, which brought up legitimate questions about election integrity.  “If you deny that half the country has the right to maybe work out that controversy, then  I suppose you think we ought to just give the Democrats all of the elections,” Knowles said, going on to say the student was “not exactly sure about a lot of things” when he admitted to not understanding the qualifications for becoming an elector.

Left-wing entertainer Trevor Noah this week compared Islamic terror attacks against Israel to America’s Founding Fathers fighting the British during the American Revolutionary War. Noah made the remarks during an interview with far-Left activist Ta-Nehisi Coates about a new book that he wrote that is filled with false claims about Israel. The book is so extreme that a mainstream news anchor recently said it was a manuscript that terrorists would read. “I have to say, when I read the book, I imagine if I took your name out of it, took away the awards, the acclaim, took the cover off the book, publishing house goes away, the content of that section would not be out of place in the backpack of an extremist,” said CBS News anchor Tony Dokoupil. Noah said that people were outraged by Dokoupil’s assessment of the book because Coates was asked to answer legitimate questions about his claims. “I sat there. I don’t get flabbergasted by much. I genuinely don’t. I sat down, I was like, what?” Noah said. “My first thought is, yes, but if you remove every context from everything, then everything could go anywhere. You know what I mean?” “If you remove America’s history and America’s [inaudible] and America’s this, then it’s like, yeah, those people who fought against the British they were terrorists,” he continued. “I mean, you can call it like, yeah, the Boston Tea Party.
