WHAT? '60 Minutes' Aired Two Different Harris Answers to Same Question

Brian Flood and David Rutz at FoxNews.com reported that CBS aired two different answers to the same question on Israel in its 60 Minutes interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. First they aired a word-salad answer on Sunday’s Face the Nation. But when the interview aired on Monday night, the answer was entirely different. Bill Whitaker asked why it seemed like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t listening to the Biden team on dialing back the war in Gaza. On Sunday, the Harris answer was this: HARRIS: Well Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region. Here's the version that aired, courtesy of the transcript and the video that came out Monday: WHITAKER: But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. HARRIS: We are not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end. Here's the video, back to back:  Remember Kamala’s word salad answer about Israel on 60 Minutes? It’s gone. This is what many Americans will now see. pic.twitter.com/H4w7btDv6x — MAZE (@mazemoore) October 8, 2024 Donald Trump's campaign demanded CBS release a full transcript of the interview. Press aide Karoline Leavitt: "Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala's full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air? The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala's sit-down interview. We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?" This is obviously not the first time 60 Minutes has made a hash out of editing a politician. They deceptively edited a hit piece on Gov. Ron DeSantis over Covid vaccines in 2021.  Then, of course, there's the difference between the video Trump made of his battle with Lesley Stahl over  the Biden influence-pedding scandals in October 2020, and the video that CBS put on television.

New Reporting Details CBS’s Dokoupil Thrown into Struggle Sessions for Grilling Coates

The New York Post and The Free Press offered new reporting Tuesday night and Friday morning on the continued fallout and outrage and subsequent modern-day Struggle Sessions directed at CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil for the alleged crime of asking leftist icon Ta-Nehisi Coates probing questions about his virulently anti-Israel book. Among the new findings are that a tear-eyed Dokoupil said he “regretted” making his colleagues feel uncomfortable, a private meeting with his co-hosts (former NFL player Nate Burleson and Oprah best friend/Kamala Harris and Obama donor Gayle King), a meeting with DEI consultant was scrapped given his racist and far-left politics, the CEO of CBS’s parent company backs Dokoupil, and there was an actual debate at CBS News whether Israel should exist. Given all that, things have bled onto the screen as, upon watching the Tuesday and Wednesday installments of CBS Mornings, the normally jovial and collegial feeling amongst the three co-hosts has disintegrated with Dokoupil given seemingly few reads and only a cursory participant in interviews (aside from Wednesday’s sit-down with After Midnight host Taylor Tomlinson). In other words, he has come off like he would prefer to be anywhere else than in the middle of a maddening storm of intolerance. First, the great Alexandra Steigrad at the Post wrote that Dokoupil “told staffers during an emotional meeting that he ‘regretted’ putting them in a difficult position”, but this meeting did not include Burleson and King. Such a meeting — which lasted a half hour — came later “in his office at 1515 Broadway.” A source told her that “[t]here were tears” and colleagues “very upset”. She added that, despite the emotions, Dokoupil didn’t seem to back down: “There were tears. [People were] very upset,” the source continued, adding that staffers are “divided” on the Israel-Palestinian conflict and were “troubled” by how Dokoupil challenged Coates last week. Dokoupil, however, didn’t back down from his incisive questioning of Coates about his new book during the 11:30 a.m. meeting, which was led by “CBS Mornings” executive producer Shawna Thomas, sources said. A second source said that some black staffers who attended the meeting were critical that Burleson and King have remained tight-lipped about the matter. Good. For the record, Dokoupil had nothing to apologize for. To paraphrase what longtime Supreme Court correspondent Jan Crawford allegedly said in a previous meetings, Dokoupil’s grilling represented what journalism should look like. To be rhetorically flogged for defending a Jewish state’s right to exist at a major news network spells trouble for how viewers should consider the motives of CBS. On the subject of Coates, he allegedly told Trevor Noah that King had originally told him backstage what she was going to ask him, but never got the chance to given Coates’s combative responses to Dokoupil. Earth to CBS’s standards and practices team: This is your real scandal. Over at The Free Press, founder Bari Weiss and editor Oliver Wiseman revealed the decision to scrap the DEI expert following a post referring to Republican Senator Tim Scott (SC) as “Uncle Tim” had CBS “humiliated.” Then came the jaw dropper about a “debate” whether Israel should exist. Obviously, none of this has made controlling Paramount Global shareholder Shari Redstone happy. In fact, she’s come to his defense (click “expand”): The meeting went ahead without Grant—staffers were not able to join from outside of CBS offices in order to prevent leaks. One source familiar with the proceedings suggested it was a “shit show,” with various employees “yelling.” Shawna Thomas, the show’s executive producer, was in tears. So was Dokoupil.  There was an open debate in the meeting about whether it is “fair to talk about whether Israel should exist at all.” There are some people at CBS who think that “Israel’s existence as a state should be part of fair conversation,” said one CBS source. Can you imagine journalists having that conversation about any other country?  No wonder Shari Redstone, the controlling shareholder of CBS’s parent company Paramount Global—at least until its merger with Skydance goes through some time next year—is not happy. A source close to Redstone told The Free Press that Redstone thought that “Tony gave a great interview and modeled what civil discourse should look like. And she disagreed with the action the company took. She’s working with the CEOs to address this issue.” On Wednesday morning, Redstone went public in an interview with Axios’s Sara Fischer: “I frankly think Tony did a great job with that interview.” Weiss and Wiseman also touched on Coates’s allegations to Noah as a violation of basic journalism: So let’s get this straight: One journalist is raked over the coals for asking tough questions, while another journalist—if Coates’s recollection is correct—previews her questions and faces no repercussions...Which poses a few questions. Chief among them: Are there different rules for different journalists at CBS? They also were able to get “a former CBS journalist” to speak to them and said Coates’s allegations “would violate journalistic standards”, but warned the network’s “Race and Culture Unit” has become “a very powerful voice and many employees believe this has allowed greater bias to creep into editorial decisions.”

Afghan national imported by Biden-Harris administration accused of plotting Election Day terrorist attack for ISIS

An Afghan national imported by the Biden-Harris administration has been arrested for allegedly plotting to massacre American citizens on Election Day. While Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi's alleged ISIS plot was foiled, the Trump campaign and other critics noted that there may yet be many more potential terrorists among the tens of thousands of Afghans brought into the U.S. by the Biden-Harris administration as well as among the tens of millions of illegal aliens who have stolen into the U.S. over the past three years. "As charged, the Justice Department foiled the defendant's plot to acquire semi-automatic weapons and commit a violent attack in the name of ISIS on U.S. soil on Election Day," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement. The Department of Justice alleged that as part of his terrorist plot, Tawhedi prepared to liquidate his family's assets, move his family members back to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, acquire AK-47 rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and then slaughter as many Americans as possible. 'How many terrorists will Joe Biden bring to America? We don't know!' It appears that the kind of attack the jihadist had in mind was akin to the March 22 ISIS-K terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Moscow, Russia, which left over 130 people dead and hundreds more badly injured. According to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday, Tawhedi, 27, entered the U.S. on Sept. 9, 2021 — nearly 20 years to the day after the 9/11 attacks — on a special immigrant visa following the Biden-Harris administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Tawhedi was among the thousands of Afghans ultimately brought to the U.S. by the Democratic administration following the collapse of Kabul despite warnings about the likelihood of extremists slipping through the cracks. Those Americans who raised concerns about the possibility that extremists might be among the inbound Afghan population were denounced as racists, xenophobes, and even un-Christian by Democrats, their allies in the media, and nominal Republicans like Adam Kinzinger. On Aug. 24, 2021, President Donald Trump stated: Biden surrendered Afghanistan to terrorist and left thousands of Americans for dead by pulling out the Military before the citizens. Now we are learning that out of the 26,000 people who have been evacuated, only 4,000 are Americans. You can be sure the Taliban, who are now in complete control, didn't allow the best and brightest to board these evacuation flights. Instead, we can only imagine how many thousands of terrorists have been airlifted out of Afghanistan and into neighborhoods around the world... What a terrible failure. NO VETTING. How many terrorists will Joe Biden bring to America? We don’t know! Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) noted in a video statement on Aug. 23, 2021, that "according to Pew, 40% of the people [in Afghanistan] believe that blowing yourself up, committing a suicide bombing is an acceptable way to solve a problem. ... Let's ensure that we're properly vetting them so that we don't get a bunch of people who believe that they should blow themselves up at a mall because somebody looked at their wife the wrong way." 'The same unvetted Afghans who were leading our soldiers into ambushes for years are being brought here in the thousands every year.' Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) noted on Aug. 17, 2021, "US national security has been deeply degraded since Jan 20. Allowing entry of thousands from a known terrorist hotbed who have not been screened on top of the border crisis will further degrade national security and undermine public safety." Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tweeted, "We should rescue Afghans who’ve assisted the US military, but they should go to a neutral & safe third country. They should NOT come to US w/o a FULL security vetting." "The same unvetted Afghans who were leading our soldiers into ambushes for years are being brought here in the thousands every year," Blaze News columnist Daniel Horowitz noted on Aug. 20, 2021. "Those Republicans joining Democrats in demanding that we bring in tens of thousands of unvetted Afghans, as if the American people owe them more blood, treasure, and sacrifice, are violating the social compact of governance." Despite such criticism, the Democratic administration doubled down and pushed to accelerate the so-called resettlement process. While on parole status pending adjudication of his immigration proceedings, Tawhedi — a walking vindication of critics' concerns — took residence in an apartment complex in Oklahoma City, where he apparently immersed himself in jihadist literature and ISIS online communities. Search history data indicates that Tawhedi routinely accessed ISIS propaganda, including a guide defining the behaviors that qualify a person as a Muslim or alternatively as an "infidel," and attempted to access Washington, D.C., webcams on or around public monuments. He allegedly also participated in pro-ISIS Telegram groups. Footage taken on July 20 and later obtained by the FBI allegedly shows Tawhedi reading to his daughter and nephew about the supposed benefits of martyrdom, including a harem of 72 virgins and a crown of jewels. 'A bunch of Americans were nearly mass murdered while voting by an Afghani visa charity case just so a bunch of alcoholic neocons could pat themselves on the back for being "compassionate."' Extra his apparent efforts to promote terrorism to his kin and his keen interest in terrorist literature, the complaint indicates that Tawhedi also contributed funds to a so-called charity that funnels money to ISIS. Law enforcement executed a court-authorized search warrant for a phone belonging to the suspect and reportedly observed communications between Tawhedi and an ISIS recruiter who goes by the name Abdul Malik. On Sept. 21, Tawhedi allegedly wrote to Malik over Telegram, "We found a person who deals with weapons. He found it for us. They are smuggled. We bought two, they are Kalashnikovs. We are two people, we bought two. Each one costs $1,200.00. Everything will perhaps be $3,000.00 in total. We have ordered 500 bullets. What do you think, brother? Is it enough or should we increase it?" The following day, Tawhedi indicated that he sold his father-in-law's house for $185,000 and was set to receive the money on Oct. 15 — funds he could use for the terrorism plot as well as for the repatriation of his family back to Kabul on on Oct. 17. Malik allegedly instructed him to donate the remainder to the Mujahideen and jihadist public treasury. "After that we will begin our duty, God willing, with the help of God, we will get ready for the election day," Tawhedi allegedly wrote. According to the complaint, an FBI asset started the ball rolling on a possible gun deal in early September, around the time Tawhedi was selling off his family's personal property on Facebook. When inquiring about whether a laptop was still for sale, the FBI asset suggested to the suspected would-be terrorist that it would come in handy for his new gun businesses. The FBI asset reportedly met with Tawhedi on Sept. 6 to complete the deal for a laptop, personal computer, and iPhone and again played up his burgeoning gun business. Before the asset left, Tawhedi's juvenile co-conspirator allegedly inquired about guns, setting the stage for a text correspondence. After texting back and forth, Tawhedi and his juvenile co-conspirator reportedly met with the FBI asset at a rural location in Oklahoma on Sept. 14, where a second FBI asset and undercover agent also showed up, posing as the fake gun dealer's business partners. Tawhedi allegedly placed his order and agreed to a price of $1,000 per rifle. The suspected would-be terrorist met up with the FBI asset on Oct. 7 apparently to purchase the rifles. When he did so, Tawhedi and his co-conspirator were arrested. Following his arrest, Tawhedi allegedly admitted to purchasing the weapons for the purpose of targeting large gatherings of people on Election Day and dying in the process of doing so. Tawhedi has been charged with conspiring with and attempting to provide material support to ISIS and with receiving a firearm to commit terrorism. If convicted, he could land a collective maximum prison sentence of 35 years. The Trump campaign responded to the arrest, writing, "How many other terrorists has Kamala imported into the country?" Sean Davis, the Federalist co-founder who was among the early critics of the Biden-Harris administration's mass importation of Afghans, wrote, "I want an apology from every fat, throne-sniffing, chicken-hawking, moral-blackmailing, family trust fund-depleting neocon moron who smeared me as a racist when I wrote this piece in 2021 after the fall of Afghanistan." "A bunch of Americans were nearly mass murdered while voting by an Afghani visa charity case just so a bunch of alcoholic neocons could pat themselves on the back for being 'compassionate' for refusing to vet hordes of third-world Afghanis being shipped into our country," added Davis. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) wrote, "Biden/Harris roll out the red carpet for Afghan terrorist who plots to kill us on Election Day." Reflecting back on whether she would have done anything differently than Biden has these past four years, Kamala Harris announced on "The View" Tuesday that "there is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of — and I've been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact." ‘A baby is like a sunlamp’: Why having babies might cure depression

Feminism has undoubtedly given way to a generation of women who view giving birth as a detriment to their careers and freedom. Dr. Catherine Pakaluk, professor of social research and economic thought, author of “Hannah’s Children: The Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth,” and mother of eight children, and Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable,” believe those women may be making a mistake, especially regarding their mental health. “Do you think that childlessness is contributing to the explosion of dependance on SSRIs, especially among women? Anxiety, depression, deaths of despair. I mean, it’s women over 40 that really are taking, it seems, the lion’s share of these antidepressant, anti-anxiety medications,” Stuckey asks Pakaluk. “I’m not an expert on the connection between those two things, but it came out of my conversations with so many people that, I think the language a lot of people used, was sort of like ‘a baby is like a sunlamp,’” Pakaluk responds. And the women who don’t have children end up attempting to replace their desire to nurture with less fulfilling alternatives. “They mother through politics, and sort of social justice causes, and to borrow a phrase, kind of toxic empathy,” Pakaluk says. “We are meant to have these incredible empathy muscles. I mean, this is part of being a great mom.” “Misplaced mothering absolutely manifests itself in a lot of women who would probably call themselves liberal women, thinking that they are defending the least of these, or the most vulnerable, because they believe that whatever victim, or proclaimed victim that the media hoists up, needs their defense, needs their nurturing,” Stuckey agrees. Pakaluk notes that these things are not as “naturally fulfilling” to women, “which leads us back to where you started this question of ‘is this fueling our anxiety, our depression.’” “These are really big questions, but I think they’re questions we’re not asking to our peril. They’re also very awkward questions, I would say, for a country that has been committed to abortion rights,” she adds. 2 golfers sneak into PGA Tour event after clerical error allows them to skip prequalification

Two golfers will play in a PGA Tour event after they were accidentally allowed to compete in a prequalifying round for the tournament. The PGA Tour made a wild error that may actually result in more viewership for the inaugural Black Desert Championship this weekend. Typically, tour events have qualification rounds known as a Monday qualifier tournament. During this round, players who are not already qualified for the event compete in a one-round competition for a limited number of spots. However, even that has a qualifying portion. If a golfer is a member of the PGA, PGA Tour Champions (tour for age 50+), or the Korn Ferry Tour (developmental tour), they are exempt from the Monday qualifying event. Players who are not exempt must play in a prequalifying event to earn a spot in the Monday qualifier. It's a complicated process, but there has seemingly never been an issue with it, until now.'It was a clerical error by our tournament director.'How did it happen?Outlet Monday Q uncovered that four players, who were not exempt, were able to skip the prequalifying event and successfully enroll in the Monday qualifier for the Black Desert Championship. Golfers R.J. Manke, Chris Korte, John Sands, and Riley Lewis were all accidentally listed in the Monday qualifier field."It was a clerical error by our tournament director," the Utah PGA told the outlet. "It is our first PGA Tour Monday, and he just made an error. He has done hundreds of tournaments without an issue. He just missed this one."Some players were outraged when they found out the other golfers were able to skip a total of three prequalifiers for the upcoming tournament, and at least one contacted the tour.Korte, who skipped the prequalifying rounds, also called the tour to confirm his exemption was accurate. He told Monday Q that even though he signed up for the prequalifying rounds, he was reimbursed for those, remained exempt, and was in the Monday qualifier. This mass of confusion left the PGA Tour in a tough spot, but after discussions with its legal team, the organization eventually decided to refund the entry fee for the four players and remove them from the Monday qualifier. Three players took it on the chin, while the fourth allegedly called the PGA Tour and asked to be reimbursed for his travel expenses. As a result, the PGA then reversed course and decided to let the golfers play on in the qualifier.According to Korte, the phone calls he received about being booted from the qualifier and being put back in came within 30 minutes of each other. How did they do?The Monday qualifier went ahead as scheduled with the four asterisked golfers. Amazingly, Korte and Sand both shot 64s and finished at -8, earning spots in the Black Desert Championship. According to Golf.com, two other golfers who qualified in the traditional sense also moved on to the big tournament. Not only will all eyes be on the two luck-stricken golfers when the tournament starts on Thursday, but there is now an embedded rivalry between the pair of traditional qualifiers and the accidental qualifiers.Korte is scheduled to tee off at 11:19 a.m. ET on Thursday, while Sand's tee time is 11:35 a.m. ET.
