Epic Triumphs as Judge Orders Google to Open the Android Gates

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Judge James Donato has ruled against Google in the Epic v. Google case, declaring the tech giant must dismantle several anti-competitive practices within its Android ecosystem. This ruling mandates Google to significantly open the Google Play Store environment by allowing better integration and visibility of third-party app stores and other competitive measures from November 1st, 2024, to November 1st, 2027. The verdict demands Google stop exclusively tying its payment system to app distribution on Google Play, a major victory for Epic Games and potentially for users that want to get apps from alternative and non-Big Tech-controlled app stores. We obtained a copy of the injunction for you here. Google must also abstain from various forms of exclusive financial incentives that it previously employed to maintain dominance. This includes prohibiting exclusive launch deals with developers and discouraging pre-installation agreements targeting device makers and carriers. Epic Games, on the same day it took legal action against Apple, sued Google back on August 13th, 2020. The premise of the lawsuits stemmed from both companies’ abrupt removal of Fortnite from their respective app stores, following Epic’s introduction of an alternative in-app payment method that circumvented the 30 percent commission typically charged by both stores. This ignited a fervent anti-monopoly campaign dubbed #FreeFortnite, propelling the legal challenges forward. Unlike the case against Google though, Epic’s case against Apple fell short. Judge Donato emphasized the necessity of a leveled competitive field, citing internal Google documents that revealed even giants like Amazon struggled against Google Play’s vast network effects. With the new adjustments mandated by the court, rival app stores might finally have the platform required to thrive. Concerns linger as Google has signaled an intention to appeal. How to thrive without a Social Security number

How to thrive without a Social Security number

There's an X account that is the polar opposite of my own. The user is she/they, has short spiky hair, is an avid gamer, and states, "I am real and legally exist and cannot be contained by cults." Because I have talked to her, I know that by "legally exists," she means she signed up for a Social Security number. She is your stereotypical example of a sovereign citizen kid who has gone woke. My family don't identify as sovereign citizens, either. We never 'opted out.' We never 'opted in,' either. We're just your run-of-the-mill pre-1930 Americans. It's a misconception to think that kids who are raised like I was, or this X girl, are raised to a disadvantage. Tara Westover's 2018 memoir "Educated" propagandized that religious upbringings lead to abused, traumatized youth. Her book vindicates victim mentalities, but I was nonplussed. Cult status Westover's father was a tyrant; mine was not. And yet "Educated" seems to assume her experience applies to anyone raised at all unconventionally. This does a disservice to the many families, like mine, who manage to ignore mainstream expectations without turning into the Duggars. I blog as the "Girl Who Doesn't Exist" and study and write about cults and religious communities. My "credentials" are my eleven younger siblings and 60-plus cousins. I am third-generation homeschooled and fourth-generation without a Social Security number or birth certificate. However, I have not been prevented from doing anything I set my heart on doing: I have lived in Germany, traveled extensively, operated my own business for 10 years, and worked as a professional seamstress, specializing in wedding dresses. I have plenty of aunts and uncles who are convinced that they were raised in a traumatic cult. They can't get why my siblings and I don't seem too keen on signing up to pay taxes nor why we aren't interested in getting a piece of paper to "prove" we exist. No complaints My family don't identify as sovereign citizens, either. We never "opted out." We never "opted in," either. We're just your run-of-the-mill pre-1930 Americans. We are honest and hardworking, and we don't pay income taxes. Oh, we give Caesar what is his. But we don't give him anything more than that. We certainly don't give him anything that's God's. We are very uninterested in pronouns and in whining about difficulties. Everyone has hard times, but not everyone handled them as well as our family did. Or so we pride ourselves. We aren't ashamed of how we were raised. In fact we're proud of our ingenuity and independence. I could have easily ended up another Tara Westover or angry blue-haired she/they feminist. The statistics are against me, after all. I was delighted in my life, though, and wasn't tempted by what the world had to offer me. I sure didn't need the DMV telling me who I am. Instead, I paved a path for my siblings to follow, a path my aunts and uncles had been unwilling to pave for me. Getting away with it I learned how to exist in a world that said it was impossible for me to thrive without a Social Security number. I succeeded in finding my own balance of living in the modern world without handing over my autonomy and identity rights to the government. I learned that if I were pleasant to interact with, I could get away with just about anything. Also, if the illegal immigrants could do it, why not me? And I'm at no risk of deportation. Instead of being envious and jealous, I decided to take notes from the best. Raising free children I have since been asked for a bullet-point blueprint. Unfortunately there really is no such thing. Unless you want to become a state national or a sovereign citizen, there's no good way to get rid of your Social Security number. However, you can give your children a chance at living a life empowered out of the system simply by not giving them Social Security numbers or birth certificates when they are born. It really doesn't matter if you have a midwife or a hospital birth; either way, you should be allowed to opt your child out. If you have a midwife, make sure you can trust her and that she won't just file the paperwork anyway. While a few good midwives remain, many midwives are now pro-big-government and are often disinterested in unconventionality. If you go this route, choose wisely. If you have a hospital birth, don't worry about having any real conversations. Your best bet is to be likeable and invisible. Play along, don't be weird, and be respectful. When it comes time to take your child home and the staff wants you to fill out the paperwork for the baby, just say, "Oh, we'll just take it home and do it later." More than likely they'll never follow up, not how a midwife might. Homemade birth certificate Once you have your child at home, I feel it's best to do a few things just to make it easier for the child to work and travel later in life. First, if you have a family Bible, write down the child's birthdate and name. This is still considered legal documentation and can be used to get the child a passport later. You can also make a homemade birth certificate and have it notarized. After those things are done, you can begin the process of applying for a passport for your child. This process is very easy when your child is under two years old if both parents are legal U.S. citizens. You'll have to write a letter stating that your child doesn't have a Social Security number or birth certificate due to religious beliefs. You don't have to clarify these religious beliefs; it is not an argument or debate. You are entitled to your beliefs. Getting a passport You'll want to put all 0s on the passport line and include a photocopy of the family Bible. Also ask for witness affidavits and affidavits of birth at the passport agency. These will be filled out by family members and friends and notarized at the passport agency. You'll want two or three copies of each form — four to six signatures from family members and friends. You should get your child's passport easily and without many hiccups. Then you can later use your child's passport number to open the child a bank account at select banks, especially small banks or banks that cater to business with immigrants. With these two things ensured, your child is set up to live a rather successful life for whatever future we're heading into. Best-case scenario: Everything stays as it is currently and the child is able to travel, bank, and work. Certain places may still not hire the child because of wanting a Social Security number. But the child won't want to work there anyway. Being your own person At the end of the day, being your own person is more valuable than being tax chattel for the American government. And if you teach your children to think creatively, they will find a way to do whatever it is they want without a Social Security number, as I and my younger siblings have all done. This will look different depending on one's drive. All I wanted to do was become a wife and a writer and to be able to travel. I feel as if my life is a raging success. However, many of my brothers are nerds and were more interested in tech, so they learned how to do crypto and get credit cards (things I have no passion for and could tell one little about). Either way, the point stands. You will find a way to achieve whatever you feel it is you must achieve, and you'll do it on your own terms. What could be more American than that?

Males just 12 and 13 years old accused of beating former NY Democratic governor on Manhattan street — and it gets even wilder

A 12-year-old male and a 13-year-old male were arrested Saturday in connection with a physical attack on former New York Democratic Gov. David Paterson and his stepson, police told the Associated Press. Paterson, 70, and his stepson, Anthony Sliwa, 20, were attacked around 8:30 p.m. Friday while they were walking on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the AP said, adding that they were treated at a hospital for minor facial injuries.Paterson said his stepson encountered some of the attackers beforehand while walking the family dog. Paterson is legally blind and suffered bodily injuries, the outlet said, adding that Sliwa is the son of Guardian Angels anti-crime group founder Curtis Sliwa. The two juvenile males both were charged with gang assault, the AP said, adding that authorities indicated at least five people were involved in the attack. Paterson was governor from 2008 to 2010 following Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer's resignation in a prostitution scandal, the outlet said, which added that Paterson was New York's first black governor. Paterson said his stepson encountered some of the attackers beforehand while walking the family dog, telling them he would call police if they didn't stop climbing up a Second Avenue building's fire escape, the AP said.It was after the aforementioned exchange that Paterson said he and his stepson went for a walk, ran into the same group, and an argument ensued before the group attacked Paterson and Sliwa, the outlet reported. Paterson said his stepson fought off multiple attackers but ended up with a facial cut that required several stitches, the AP said. Two more arrestsIn addition to the pair of arrested juveniles, two adults were arrested Monday in connection with the attack on Patterson and Sliwa. Travor Nurse, 40, and Diamond Minter, 34 — both New York City Housing Authority workers — were arrested on Second Avenue near East 96th Street, police and sources told the New York Post. Both charges are felonies, police told the paper. A 14-year-old male wasn't charged after police determined he was not an aggressor, the Post said. The paper, citing sources, added that Nurse previously was arrested in Brooklyn in late July on an aggravated unlicensed operator charge, in addition to other traffic violations. The Post, citing sources, also reported that Nurse was arrested in August 2009 for gun possession. The paper said it wasn't immediately known if Minter, the other adult arrestee, has previous arrests on her record. The pair's employer, the New York City Housing Authority, said they're both still employed, the Post said. “They have not reported to work,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “This is an active NYPD investigation. We don’t have any additional information at this time.” You can view a video report here about the incident. Like Blaze News? The 2030 Agenda: Global governance for your own good

The 2030 Agenda: Global governance for your own good

Democrats can't stop pitching a fit about Project 2025. And Republicans from Trump on down are happy to take the bait, working overtime to distance themselves from the 900-page conservative policy blueprint that Kamala Harris branded a "dangerous plan" to expand presidential power and impose a supposedly nefarious agenda. There’s something darkly humorous in watching a group of elites call for more elites to join a discussion about curbing the influence of elites. But what if this is all just a distraction from the left's own — and far more organized — bid to reshape society? The 2030 Agenda Or as the United Nations puts it, to create "the world’s road map for ending poverty, protecting the planet, and tackling inequalities." The U.N. calls it the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; you may want to call it something else. The 2030 Agenda was first adopted in 2015. On September 22 and 23, world leaders converged in New York for the U.N. Summit of the Future, during which they reaffirmed their commitment to this radical transformation of global governance. Ahead of this gathering, participants — including Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau — delivered pre-recorded speeches at a virtual meeting. Another notable speaker was U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, who called for a sweeping overhaul of the U.N. Security Council and the global financial system, all under the banner of Agenda 2030's Sustainable Development Goals. Anyone paying attention at this glorified Zoom meeting could see what lurked beneath the noble promises of poverty reduction and world peace: a dangerous globalist agenda that threatens national sovereignty and individual freedoms. All in the name of collective progress, of course. Big Brother in the Big Apple The call was just a preview. The meeting itself was best described as Big Brother in the Big Apple. This is no exaggeration. We are facing sweeping proposals that could institutionalize global digital IDs, enforce online censorship, and grant the U.N. secretary-general extraordinary emergency powers. These measures risk establishing an unprecedented level of centralized control, all cloaked in the rhetoric of international cooperation. The U.N. General Assembly laid it all out in a document called "Pact for the Future," a sweeping vision presented as the blueprint for tackling 21st-century challenges. But this isn’t just another international accord — it’s a master plan to consolidate power under a global governance framework that stifles dissent. The Pact’s 11 initiatives include a U.N. “Emergency Platform” and a “Global Digital Compact,” alongside measures on “Information Integrity” and “Transforming Education.” These proposals aim not only to reshape governance but also to redefine the very essence of freedom, online and offline. What’s most worrying is the proposed Emergency Platform, which would give the U.N. secretary-general the power to declare and manage global emergencies. This would allow one person to have broad control over the world during any crisis, whether it's real or imagined. And as we all know, those in power never let a good crisis go to waste. Let them eat fake Guterres also raised alarms about the risks of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, urging a global consensus on how to manage their militarization. He emphasized the need for collaboration among governments, tech companies, and academic institutions to ensure that AI benefits all of humanity — not just the powerful elite. There’s something darkly humorous in watching a group of elites call for more elites to join a discussion about curbing the influence of elites. It's also funny to read about a "Common Agenda" few if any of us signed up for. Call me a conspiracy theorist (I’ve been called worse), but this ridiculously broad initiative seems to reveal the true aims of the summit: to consolidate centralized global authority under the pretense of collaboration and security. Digital gulags The compact is crammed with alarming recommendations, including digital identification systems, "digital public goods," and "digital product passports," all masked as efforts to create a safer, more accountable digital environment. It also promotes measures against "disinformation" and the misuse of online resources. Yet the true threat lies not in these transparently disingenuous goals. It lies in the unchecked power these systems would bestow upon governments and global entities to control information — and, even more concerning, to control citizens. The compact, “ambitious” in the extreme, also pushes for advanced vaccine technologies and large-scale manufacturing. This could pave the way for global vaccine passports that undermine individual rights to refuse medical interventions. COVID on steroids Clearly, this isn't just about public health; it’s about creating a surveillance state where personal autonomy is sacrificed for global governance — much like the COVID measures we endured but on copious amounts of steroids. The "Great Reset" isn't an unhinged, lunatic-in-a-bunker theory — it's unfolding now through Project 2030. Global digital IDs, vaccine passports, and speech controls are not abstract concepts; they are real tools for a future where freedom could become a distant memory. If we don’t confront this threat now, we may find ourselves stripped of even more than our possessions and living out a future even more grim than we could have imagined: You'll think nothing. And you'll be happy.
