Two-time Academy Award-winner Sally Field told her “horrific” story of having an illegal abortion in Mexico in an effort to convince followers to vote for Kamala Harris. The 77-year-old actress posted a video on Instagram on Sunday explaining the ordeal. She began by saying she was still very “shamed” by it because she was “raised in the 50s.” “I had no choices in my life. I didn’t have a lot of family support in any way, or finances,” Field said.  Field recalled being driven across the border to Tijuana, Mexico, by her family doctor, his wife, and Field’s mother after she had become pregnant prior to abortion becoming legal in the United States. It was just this absolute pit of shame. Then when it was finished, they said, ‘Go, go, go, go, go,’ like the building was on fire. They didn’t want me there. It was illegal.” “I’ve been so hesitant to do this, to tell my horrific story,” Field wrote in the post caption. “It was during a time even worse than now. A time when contraception was not readily available and only if you were married. But I feel that so many women of my generation went through similar, traumatic events and I feel stronger when I think of them. I believe, like me, they must want to fight for their grandchildren and all the young women of this country.” The “Mrs. Doubtfire” star said she’s supporting Harris for president because the California Democrat supports “reproductive freedom.” “PLEASE. Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in dozens of counties and suspended tolls to help people on the move. The Tampa Bay area, which got submerged when Hurricane Helene slammed Florida less than two weeks ago, could get hit hard once again with Milton unleashing up to 15 feet of storm surge. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, a Democrat, issued a dire warning during a Monday evening interview on CNN. “I can say this without any dramatization whatsoever: If you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you are going to die,” she declared.

Former President Donald Trump accused “corrupt” media outlets of hiding negative stories about Kamala Harris during a Tuesday interview with The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro. Shapiro and Trump discussed a new report that second gentleman Doug Emhoff allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. A number of major media outlets have not reported on the explosive story, prompting accusations of bias from commentators like Megyn Kelly and Chris Cuomo, who suggest this shows a double standard. Trump shared with Shapiro that he watched MSNBC, or “MSDNC” as Trump said, and saw the network interviewing Emhoff, who did not face any questions about the alleged assault or about his previous affair with his nanny, also exposed by The Daily Mail. “It was like a love fest,” Trump said. “Never asked him about that. Never asked him about the other one.” “He was being interviewed on MSNBC…and it was like a love fest. The Daily Mail spoke with three friends of the woman who corroborated this account. The story did not identify Emhoff’s ex-girlfriend, and only revealed that she is a “successful New York attorney.” The White House has not responded to The Daily Wire’s requests for comment on the allegations. An unnamed spokesman for Emhoff told Semafor that the report is “untrue” and that “any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false.”

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has accused his former manager and mentor Greig Nori of sexual and verbal abuse, starting when Whibley was a teenager. The Canadian-born singer discusses the allegations as part of his upcoming memoir, “Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell,” which was released on Tuesday. Nori is the frontman of the Canadian band Treble Charger. The two met when Whibley was 16 and Nori was 34, per People. Whibley claimed Nori spoke of a “special connection” they shared and was the first person to give him alcohol. Nori served as a musical inspiration for Sum 41 and eventually became the band’s manager. “Greig had one requirement to be our manager — he wanted total control,” Whibley asserted in the book. “We couldn’t talk to anyone but him, because the music business is ‘full of snakes and liars’ and he was the only person we could trust.” Whibley accused Nori of “passionately” kissing him when he was 18. The singer claims to have told Nori that he was not gay. Nori allegedly responded by saying most rock stars are “queer” and that “most people are bisexual; they’re just too afraid to admit it,” according to the Los Angeles Times. They began to have sexual encounters, Whibley claimed. “He was so relentless and convincing that after a while, I started to believe that maybe he was right,” Whibley wrote in his memoir. Nori also allegedly told Whibley that he wasn’t gay either, but said Whibley “brought it out in him because what we had was so special.” Whibley wrote about how Nori became angry and called him “homophobic” for trying to end the sexual encounters. I started this and now he was in it with me so I couldn’t just stop,” Whibley wrote in the book.  The Sum 41 singer said he told his ex-wife, singer Avril Lavigne, about the abuse while they were dating and also told his current wife, model Ariana Cooper. He said both women agreed that Nori’s alleged behavior was abusive.  Whibley wrote that Cooper said, “He groomed you from a young teen and mentally forced you. You said no, you didn’t want to do this anymore, and he told you it had to continue or you would lose everything. That’s psychological, mental, and physical abuse.” The recording artist wrote about how the alleged sexual abuse ended but verbal abuse continued until Nori was fired by the band in 2004. 

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed Vice President Kamala Harris this week for trying to play political games with the disaster response to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. An NBC News reporter with a history of bias against DeSantis reported Monday afternoon that the governor was not taking calls from Harris because the calls appeared to be “political” in nature. Harris seized on the report, claiming to reporters that DeSantis was rejecting her calls because he was the one “playing political games.” “In these crisis situations — these are the height of emergency situations — is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish, and it is about political gamesmanship, instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first,” she claimed. The governor noted during a subsequent press conference on Monday evening that he had no idea that she called, he never received a call from her, and the quote that he believed she was playing “political” games did not come from anyone in his office which has historically been tight-lipped. “I didn’t know that she had called, so I’m not sure who they called,” he said. “They didn’t call me, and their characterization of it was something that they did, it wasn’t anything that anybody in my office did, in terms of saying that it was political.” During an interview Monday night, DeSantis said the notion that he was “selfish” for focusing on the state of Florida was “delusional.” “She has no role in this,” he noted. “In fact, she’s been vice president for three and a half years. I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts. And so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this. She’s trying to get some type of an edge. She knows she’s doing poorly, and so she’s playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line. I’ve got people whose homes and their possessions are on the line, and we are focused 100% on that mission.” During a subsequent interview Tuesday morning, when asked about Harris’ comments, he said that what is happening right now is not about her. “It’s not about you, Kamala, it’s about the people of Florida,” he said, adding again that Harris was the first person he’s ever encountered who is trying to politicize a hurricane. “She has never called on any of the storms we’ve had since she’s been vice president until apparently now,” he said. “Why all of the sudden is she trying to parachute in and inject herself when she’s never shown any interest in the past? We know it’s because of politics. We know it’s because of her campaign. I have zero time to entertain these political games.” He said that he has had good responses from President Joe Biden with respect to the current storms. “Harris is not even in the chain of command,” he added. “She has no role in this. I mean, the idea that I should be like worrying about her when I’m focused on the task at hand is just quite frankly, absurd.”
