BREAKING: Buttigieg requires all vehicles bringing aid to hurricane victims to be electric cars

In a bold and forward-thinking move that has left disaster relief teams scrambling, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has announced that all vehicles delivering aid to victims of Hurricane Helene must be electric. “The planet is burning,” Buttigieg declared at a press conference, “and what better time to address climate change than in the midst of a humanitarian crisis?” Rescue organizations expressed immediate concern. “We’re trying to deliver water, food, and medical supplies to people stranded in areas with no power, no functioning infrastructure, and in some cases, no roads,” said FEMA spokesperson Sarah Drydock. “But apparently, lugging diesel generators in electric cars is the future.” Buttigieg dismissed these concerns, insisting that disaster zones are the perfect testing ground for America’s green transition. “Look, if we can get electric cars into hurricane-ravaged flood zones, we can get them anywhere,” he said proudly. “And those Teslas can float for, like, a few minutes, right?” Critics argue that the mandate will slow down recovery efforts, but Buttigieg was undeterred. “Think of the carbon footprint we’re reducing by making the switch. Sure, people may be waiting a bit longer for clean drinking water, but they can rest assured knowing their saviors are arriving emissions-free.” When asked how aid workers in remote, devastated areas would be able to recharge their electric vehicles without a reliable power grid, Buttigieg smiled serenely and replied, “We encourage them to explore the power of solar panels and wind energy. This is about resilience and innovation, not just plugging in.” Reports have already surfaced of stalled Teslas and Rivians along key supply routes, waiting for portable chargers that are… being transported by diesel trucks. “We’ve had to start towing some of the electric vehicles to their destinations with traditional gas-powered trucks,” said a Red Cross volunteer. “We call it the ‘Green Piggyback’ method. It’s really innovative when you think about it.” Buttigieg remains optimistic, pointing out that the slow response is actually a feature, not a bug. “By delaying the immediate arrival of aid, we give local communities more time to develop their own solutions and adapt to the realities of climate change,” he explained. “It’s a win-win!” Meanwhile, aid workers trapped in the flooded regions are reportedly now being trained on how to build solar-powered charging stations out of wreckage and driftwood. “We’re very excited about the potential for sustainable recovery efforts,” Buttigieg added. “If these people can survive a hurricane, they can certainly figure out how to charge an electric car in a flood.” As the program rolls out, rumors are already circulating about plans to introduce electric helicopters for search and rescue missions, with Buttigieg promising that “it’ll only take four times as long, but the sky will thank us.” Hurricane survivors, though still stranded and waiting for supplies, were reportedly relieved to hear their rescues would be so eco-friendly. “I haven’t eaten in three days, but at least I won’t feel guilty about the planet when help finally arrives,” said one victim. “Now, if only they could get here before the next hurricane hits.” With the electric vehicle mandate in full swing, it seems the future of disaster relief is… slow, but sustainable. As Buttigieg put it, “In times of crisis, it’s important to think about the long-term impact. Sure, people need food and shelter, but what they really need is to know they’re being helped in the greenest way possible.” The post BREAKING: Buttigieg requires all vehicles bringing aid to hurricane victims to be electric cars appeared first on Genesius Times.

BREAKING: Korean flamethrower squirrels have reached the US

Hot on the heals of the dual plagues of COVID-19 and the Asian murder hornets, Korean flamethrower squirrels have reached the US and have been devastating the country. “We’re just having a really bad go of it,” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Minka Verbose said. “Some states are still reeling from the coronavirus pandemic and people are worried about the murder hornets. They haven’t seen anything yet.” The flamethrower squirrels have been active mainly in California and Washington cities, but some have been seen as far East as Iowa. The CDC Sciuridae experts have warned that if you see a flamethrower squirrel to not approach it because it may burn your face off. President* Biden just shook his head and refused to comment when he heard about the new invasion. Several governors across the country have mandated that citizens wear flame-retardant fire suits for anyone venturing out of doors. “We must be safe in these unprecedented times,” Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said. “Anyone caught outside without fire suits on top of their beekeeper suits to protect against murder hornets will be beaten and thrown in jail to protect them.” Originally published May 13, 2020. AOC: ‘These poor pumpkins have been drained of their spice by illegal poachers; this needs to stop!’

I don’t know who needs to hear it, but pumpkin spice poaching is not okay. I just visited a field in Connecticut where all of the pumpkins had been drained of their spice by illegal poaching. This is unethical, it’s immoral, and it’s just wrong. You’d say, “Well pumpkins don’t have feelings. They can’t feel their spice literally being drained from their bodies.” But that’s just stupid. Of course they can feel pain. Pumpkins are living human beings, just like the rest of us (but not like preborn humans of course–they can’t feel anything). We must stop this illegal poaching of all these pumpkins’ spice. I mean, who wants a white pumpkin? They’re horrible and racist. These poachers are turning pumpkins racist!! It must end. Please, please, please, demand ethically-sourced Pumpkin Spice Lattes the next time you go to Starbucks! Originally published September 15, 2022. McDonald’s Famous Boo Buckets From The ‘80s Making A Comeback This Halloween

By mid-October, McDonald’s customers can get a Boo Bucket instead of the traditional Happy Meals; however, menu items from the latter would be included in this temporary package. The Boo Bucket was famous in the ‘80s, with a few comebacks over the years. The Halloween-themed bucket can double as a trick-or-treating container for kids and comes in white, blue, green, and orange, plus stickers for them to customize as they like. The Boo Buckets may be here to stay as an annual ritual, as McDonald’s has been consistent with it since 2022. What’s in the Boo Bucket?             View this post on Instagram                         A post shared by Snackolator (@snackolator)   Happy Meal lovers can still enjoy the same servings in the Boo Bucket, which features a hamburger or cheeseburger meal, a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, or a 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meal. Customers can also order as they choose— either in stores or on the app. To add to the fun, each order comes with a side of fries or apple slices and a drink. Fans responded to this offer with excitement, leaving comments on McDonald’s Instagram page. “I still have mine from yearsss ago,” someone gushed with nostalgia. McDonald’s/ Wikimedia Commons Spooky competition McDonald’s is not the only fast food chain joining in the spooky fun this Halloween as competitor Dunkin’ recently showed off their Halloween Munchkins Bucket in a single purple design featuring the viral spider donut and a new espresso and marshmallow Ube swirl combo drink. McDonald Boo Bucket McDonald’s lovers were also unhappy with the outlet’s design and pleaded with them to add lids and bring back the original design. “These are hot garbage and when you brought back the OGs they didn’t even have their lids,” someone complained online, while another rebutted that the adults should keep their nostalgic opinions and let the kids have them. The Royal Family Reaches Out To Prince Harry On His 40th Birthday For First Time In Three Years

For the first time in three years, the Royal family shared a post on social media, wishing Prince Harry a happy 40th birthday on September 15. Ever since the “estranged prince” stepped down from his royal duties, communication between the Royal Family and Prince Harry has been strained. Despite the tension and rift between them, this year, Kate Middleton and Prince William put aside their differences to wish him a happy birthday. Apparently, Kate Middleton had a huge part to play in extending an olive branch towards Harry. Kate Middleton ensured Prince Harry got a birthday message Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today! pic.twitter.com/sAlSiV9EaZ — The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) September 15, 2024   An insider revealed that Kate made sure Harry received a birthday phone call and a special gift, which is to fulfill her promise to restore peace between Harry and the royal family, particularly with Prince William. The source added that Kate made it clear to William that Harry’s birthday was a moment to prioritize love and family, set aside past rifts and not hold on to resentment. It’s no surprise that Kate did this as Prince Harry and Kate used to be very close, and were almost inseparable. Harry affectionately called Kate “Cath” and regarded her as the sister he never had. They were frequently seen together at events sharing laughs and whispers. Prince Harry/Instagram Kate Middleton and Prince Harry are allegedly still in close contact Prince Harry and Meghan became estranged when they decided to step down as senior royals in January 2020. Buckingham Palace later confirmed on February 19, 2021, that the couple would forfeit their royal patronages, confirming their departure from the royal family. Harry and his wife now live in California with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.  However, Harry also made claims against the royal family in his TV interview with Oprah and his controversial memoir, Spare, which created distance between Harry and William, also affecting Harry’s friendship with Kate. Prince Harry/ Instagram Despite the rifts and William “shutting the door” against Harry returning to his royal duties, sources suggest Kate and Harry remain close. They allegedly make secret phone calls, with Harry giving emotional support to Kate during her cancer battle. “Everyone assumes Kate doesn’t like Harry, but they have a special bond that not many people really understand,” a royal source revealed. “She confided in him during dark moments, including her cancer battle.” With the recent development, there might still be hope for reconciliation for the Royal Family. Carol Burnett Becomes Emmy’s Oldest Female Nominee For Comedy Acting Category

Carol Burnett achieved a new feat recently as she earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for her role as Aunt Norma Delacorte in Apple TV’s Palm Royale. With this recognition, Carol is the oldest female in the category, adding to her many existing accolades. The 91-year-old was nominated alongside Liza Colón-Zayas, Hannah Einbinder, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Meryl Streep, who is the second oldest on the list at 75. So far, Carol has snagged 7 Emmy Award wins, most of which she got in the ‘70s. Playing Aunt Norma Palm Royale, Carol Burnett / Everett Portraying Aunt Norma was a testament to Carol’s ability to bring life into any role, as her character was in a coma for most of the beginning episodes. She joked about it being a slam dunk and said that she still got paid for those parts despite doing nothing but putting on her costume and lying down. It did not take much convincing for Carol to be a part of the project, as she was instantly excited about the lineup of potential co-stars like Maxine Simmons, Ricky Martins and Laura Dern. She noted that working with them on the 1970s-themed film was fun, and getting recognized for her role made it even more exciting. Carol Burnett in Palm Royale / Everett Does Carol Burnett have plans to retire? Still snatching up nominations and awards in her 90s, Carol does not appear to be leaving Hollywood anytime soon as she is still in her career “for fun.” the renowned comedian rose to fame while running The Carol Burnett Show in the ‘60s and ‘70s, which earned her multiple Emmy Awards in its prime. Carol Burnett / Everett She then appeared in a lineup of hit movies and Broadway shows, including Moon Over Buffalo and Putting It Together, and wrote her autobiography titled One More Time: A Memoir inspired by the play Hollywood Arms. Carol’s recent roles have been in the Breaking Bad spin-off show Better Call Saul, and Palm Royale, for which she got recognized at the 76th annual Emmys.
