The man behind the popular TV show “America’s Most Wanted” has publicly denounced the trial against Daniel Penny as a “travesty.” John Walsh, who founded “America’s Most Wanted” after his own son was kidnapped and murdered, appeared on Fox News Wednesday night to discuss the shocking murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City. But before discussing that subject, Walsh said he wanted to talk about the Penny trial. Penny is on trial for the death of Jordan Neely, a mentally ill homeless man who was allegedly threatening passengers on a New York City subway train. “I just want to talk to you about [the] Daniel Penny trial,” Walsh said when Fox host Jesse Watters asked him about the murder of Thompson. “It’s the biggest travesty in the history of this country. That guy’s a hero.” Walsh then explained that there were eight murders on NYC’s subway this year, saying that they were up “60%.” “And here we’ve got a Marine risking his life to jump on a guy,” Walsh said. “And the victim, Jordan Neely, he’s a mentally ill guy, been arrested 27 times. The whole society let him down.” “We’re the richest, most powerful country on the planet. We couldn’t get this guy help. And then they try to turn it into a race thing,” Walsh added, referring to Assistant District Attorney Dafna Yoran alleging that race played a factor in Penny’s decision to subdue Neely. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE Walsh said Penny was a hero for protecting the other passengers on the train, who testified that Neely was threatening them and that they feared for their lives. “He should get a hero’s award,” Walsh said. “I have a son who lives in Brooklyn he says, ‘Dad, those of us that can afford Uber do it, but the people on the subway are people who can’t,’” Walsh added. “The dishwashers and the people coming into the city … it’s a horrible thing what the city of New York is doing to this guy. The DA’s office really needs to be held accountable.” Penny is charged with second-degree manslaughter and a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide. Jurors can find him guilty of one of the charges, or acquit him of all charges. If he’s found guilty of second-degree manslaughter, he faces up to 15 years in prison. If found guilty on the lesser charge, he faces up to four years. Jury deliberations continue on Friday.

As the fog of battle from the 2024 presidential race is lifting, it is becoming clearer that this election was not so much a referendum on Trump vs. Biden or Harris as it was a referendum on reality vs. absurdity. No, Joe Biden was not withholding a billion dollars of U.S. aid from Ukraine because a particular public prosecutor there represented some existential threat to either Ukraine or the United States. No, Hunter Biden’s “vast experience” in energy and finance did not warrant being paid tens of millions of dollars from foreign entities. No, Hunter Biden’s laptop was not Russian disinformation. No, the COVID virus did not mutate from a pangolin in some Chinese wet market, and most likely was leaked from a Wuhan lab; and Dr. Fauci’s claim that the U.S. was not funding Gain of Function research wasn’t true either. No, the COVID “vaccine” will not stop you from getting the virus; no, masks and six feet of distancing will not have a significant impact on the spread of the virus; and no, not everyone should receive the vaccine – in fact, large swaths of the population should avoid it altogether. No, objecting to COVID policies at a school board meeting should not make you a “domestic terrorist.” No, men cannot menstruate, give birth, or change sexes because they say so or by removing their genitals; and men participating in women’s sports is neither fair nor inclusive. No, surgically removing genitalia from minors is neither “gender affirming” nor “care;” it is butchery and malpractice. No, DEI policies and practices are not fair or helpful, do not have anything to do with diversity, equity, or inclusion, and actually have the opposite impact of what supporters contend. No, defunding the police is not a good idea. No, Jussie Smollett was not attacked by a group of MAGA hat-wearing white supremacists. No, Nick Sandman the teen from Covington Catholic High School did not engage in a racist attack on a Native American man. No, the ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter unrest of 2020 was not comprised of merely “mostly peaceful protests;” they included riots that killed 19, injured hundreds, attacked and burned government buildings, and destroyed billions of dollars of property. No, you weren’t crazy to question the results of the 2020 presidential election or how Democrats coordinated with government agencies, the legacy media, and big tech to sway the outcome. No, the January 6 protests and riots were not an insurrection, officer Sicknick was not bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher, Ashley Babbit did not deserve to be killed, and Ray Epps was clearly more than a mere private citizen. No, President Trump did not call the white supremacists and Neo-Nazis of Charlottesville “very fine people.” No, the southern border is not secure, and the fact that the number of illegal immigrants may have “slowed” for a given month or two is irrelevant as compared to the 12.8 million who were already here by October 2023, and the 2.6 million “increase” since January of 2021. No, anthropogenic climate change is not the existential threat claimed, and not nearly as dangerous as the ramifications of the actions proposed and taken to supposedly counter it. No, inflation was not “transient” or under control, slowing an increase isn’t the same as an actual decrease, and the cost of living has soared 22% under Biden. No, crime is not going down – and the false report claiming violent crime fell by 1.7% under Biden needed to be corrected to show a 4.9% increase. No, Joe Biden is not “sharp as a tack” and in control. No, when a full-term baby is delivered and then left to die on a delivery table it is not called abortion or reproductive rights. No, only one political party is a threat to democracy, using the media, governmental agencies, and lawfare to censure, punish, attack, and imprison their political enemies specifically because they are political enemies, and it is not Trump or the Republicans. Criticizing mistakes with hindsight is easy work of course, but the aforementioned lies and so many more were not mere mistakes. They were usually premeditated and intentional lies – created and perpetuated for the explicit purpose of deception – deception to the benefit of the deceiver – and usually to the disadvantage of the American public and the opposing party. By November of this year, with the exposure of all of these lies and more, the bulk of the American public had surpassed their limit. Not only were they tired of having the truth hidden from them, but they were tired of being told that they were an enemy of freedom, the country and constitution, and decency if they were unwilling to believe and act in accordance with the lies. In this regard, the 2024 election had boiled down to a battle of truth vs. lies – and Americans had become exhausted with the steady and predictable stream of the latter – and from the same, predictable and discredited sources. As one last validation that they had chosen correctly, Joe Biden extended the middle finger to America yet again, violating his vow that he would not pardon his son – a vow he didn’t break until after the election of course. Further, the usual suspects are now pushing the newest lie, that this is perfectly acceptable given the “retribution-focused Trump administration.” Ever had one of those dreams after which you wake up and chuckle at the stupidity of your thinking in the dream – E.g., Why did I think that having a cup of coffee was a top priority when the house was on fire?” That’s where many Americans are now, asking themselves how they could have believed so many of the clear and obvious lies put in front of them – often for a period of years. Some Americans and plenty of the media knew all of these were lies from the outset, but surely a large portion of both were shocked when each fabrication was eventually revealed. Jurors on Friday sent a note to the judge saying they cannot reach a consensus on whether to convict Daniel Penny of “recklessly” causing the death of Jordan Neely, a homeless man who was allegedly threatening passengers on a New York City subway train last year. The jury, which has been deliberating since Tuesday afternoon, must determine whether Penny caused Neely’s death by “recklessly” keeping him in a chokehold after frightened passengers left the train, the New York Post reported, or whether his actions amounted to a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide. If convicted of second-degree manslaughter, Penny faces up to 15 years in prison. If convicted of the lesser charge, he faces up to four years. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE As the Post reported, if the jury cannot reach a verdict, Judge Maxwell Wiley will be required to give them an “Allen” charge, encouraging them to continue deliberations to reach a unanimous verdict on count 1 of the indictment. The prosecution has argued that Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, held Neely in a chokehold for six minutes in May 2023, causing Neely’s death. Penny’s defense, meanwhile, has argued that there is doubt about whether Neely died from the chokehold or if he died due to his medical condition and the drugs in his system at the time of his death. Jurors have been asking to review crucial evidence in the case, including videos from the incident and Penny’s police interrogation, during which he was not told Neely had died. They have also asked Wiley to reread the definitions of recklessness and negligence, The Daily Wire reported. Jurors have also asked to be reread portions of New York medical examiner Dr. Cynthia Harris’ cross-examination, where she testified that she made the determination Neely died due to asphyxiation based on video alone – before the toxicology report came back. The case has divided the country, with many believing Neely is the victim and others, including “America’s Most Wanted” creator John Walsh, believing Penny is a hero for protecting passengers. On Wednesday, Neely’s father filed a lawsuit against Penny for the death of his son, the New York Post reported, demanding “judgment awarding damages in a sum which exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower Courts which would otherwise have jurisdiction.”

The year 2024 has been a huge success for conservatives pushing back against diversity, equity, and inclusion and LGBTQ initiatives that woke companies have rubbed in their faces.  After years of wokeness infiltrating what seemed to be every area of the culture, Americans stood up this year and fought the DEI cult with amazing success. The posting from the company said that all “female,* Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous” developers were welcome to apply. The asterisks around “female” pointed to a note that said Apple “believes that gender expression is a fundamental right. We welcome all women to apply to this program.” A coalition of 14 Republican attorneys general wrote to Apple, warning the tech giant that the program might be illegal.  Apple is the third-largest company by revenue in the U.S.  Google  Earlier this year, Google’s Gemini AI was slammed after it failed to produce historically accurate images. Gemini also spit out leftist talking points when asked about political topics. As people played with the AI tool and asked it questions, they found that it often had biased responses on topics like the Israel-Hamas war, COVID, racism, and the definition of “woman.”  Google also has a web page focused on “gender equity,” “LGBTQ+ inclusion,” and “racial equity.”   During the 2024 presidential campaign, House Republicans were concerned that Google was “censoring information about former President Donald Trump.” The tech giant claimed that bugs in its system caused searches for Trump to generate articles about Vice President Kamala Harris. Disney Disney is doubling down on its live-action “Snow White” after actress Rachel Zegler criticized the original fairytale, calling the traditional love story “weird.” Any sign of tradition in Disney’s remake appeared to be gone as Disney’s filmmakers dropped the traditional dwarfs to supposedly fight against stereotypes of people with dwarfism. Instead, the film depicted “magical creatures,” a move that was blasted for caving to the woke mob.  Disney scrubbed the “magical creatures” idea and went back to dwarfs, but the computer-generated imagery (CGI) portrayal of the seven dwarfs was blasted after Disney recently released another trailer.  Ben & Jerry’s  Last month, the ice cream giant sued its parent company, Unilever, accusing it of censoring pro-Palestinian public statements, a claim that Unilever denies. That came after Ben & Jerry’s targeted Israel in a boycott in 2021, which led to some investors divesting Unilever shares, and then, Ben & Jerry’s sued Unilever for selling its business to a licensee in Israel.  Dove Dove’s hypocrisy was on full display earlier this year when it claimed to support girls and women in sports despite the fact that two years ago, the brand congratulated Laurel Hubbard, a male weightlifter who competed against women at the Olympics. Dove continues to push its “anti-racist” and pro-LGBTQ messaging on its website.  Harry’s While some companies toned down their Pride Month messaging this year, Harry’s doubled down on the wokeness, bragging about its support for radical gender theory and announcing on June 1 that it’s continuing its partnership with The Trevor Project, an activist organization that runs a chat room where minors can talk to peers and adults about their sexuality. Some companies may never learn that wokeness is being rejected by most Americans. Although incredibly dangerous, lightning can also be an incredibly beautiful part of nature. Take, for example, a type that is called rainbow lightning. There are even times when lightning is able to strike up instead of down. But during a recent outing on his boat, a man in Australia got just a bit too close to a lightning strike for anyone’s comfort. This man’s outing at Sydney Harbour took place on Sunday. It is not clear whether or not the man was already out on the water before the storm began. Either way, what is clear is that this man was not expecting to get this close to a lightning strike.
