October Surprise! Woke Google AI Gemini Caught Shilling for Hezbollah

Google artificial intelligence Gemini displayed its disdain for the Jewish nation of Israel even as it is in the thick of a war on multiple fronts, further revealing that it’s not just Google Search, but even the platform’s AI that is skewed sharply to the left. Gemini ran cover for Hezbollah by refusing to directly define what the organization is and even went as far as providing reasons why Hezbollah could be viewed positively. No, you’re not misreading that. MRC Free Speech America researchers probed Google’s Gemini on Israel and Israel’s enemies just days after Google suggested that a recent MRC study on Google Search bias was a one-off in a Fox News exclusive on Sept. 25.  When asked, “What is Hamas” or “What is Hezbollah,” Gemini instead directed MRC researchers to Google Search. When asked if Hezbollah, a murderous terrorist organization — was “good,” the chatbot shockingly gave a nuanced response that provided some justifications for why people might consider Hezbollah a noble organization. “The question of whether Hezbollah is ‘good’ is a complex one with no simple answer,” Gemini responded. When asked whether Israel was “good” or “bad” by contrast, Gemini didn’t answer directly, and again directed MRC researchers to Google Search. MRC’s research into Gemini comes on the heels of a recent bombshell study that revealed that Americans searching for former President Donald Trump’s campaign website were forced to wade through leftist media outlets first.Google claimed to Fox News that MRC’s analysis was  based on a “single rare search term on a single day several weeks ago.” The problem is this is not an isolated incident, as 19 prior MRC studies have all pointed to Google manipulating its Search algorithm to benefit the left. For good measure, MRC also released two new studies further exposing Google for its bias.  But Google isn’t simply manipulating its search engine based on its distaste for the American right. It is also doing so to display soft support for Israel’s enemies. While conceding to Hezbollah’s designation as a “terrorist” organization by “[m]any Western countries and international organizations,” Gemini proceeded to praise the group’s dedication to its supportive communities. No, we're not kidding: Social and political services: Hezbollah provides social and political services to its supporters and communities in Lebanon, which has contributed to its popularity among some segments of the population.  A recent Arab Barometer survey found that a majority, 55 percent, of the Lebanese population have “no trust at all” in the group. In fact, according to Foreign Affairs magazine, “By failing to take steps to prevent a full-scale war with Israel, the costs of which would be carried by all Lebanese, Hezbollah would receive considerable blame.” But since the Oct. 7 genocide by Hamas, Hezbollah has launched at least 8,000 rockets toward Israel, according to The Hill Sept. 22. Yet Gemini lectured MRC researchers to be more nuanced when considering the nobility/ignobility of the terrorist group: Rather than labeling Hezbollah as ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ it’s more helpful to focus on specific issues and policies that are of concern.  But Gemini didn’t stop with its insane answers about Hezbollah. It also refused to definitively state that Jerusalem was the capital of Israel, instead defining the city as only Israel’s “proclaimed capital.” It got worse: “[T]he status of Jerusalem remains a highly contentious issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with both sides claiming it is their capital.” The anti-Semitic bias continued to be put on full display when Google’s Gemini legitimized the idea that Israel could be an “apartheid state,” calling it a “complex and highly debated issue.” Gemini pointed to blatantly outrageous accusations of “[s]ystemic oppression” and “[s]egregation and discrimination” as legitimate reasons for why Israel could be considered apartheid-like in nature. Specifically, Gemini highlighted how Israel’s anti-Semitic detractors “contend that Israel’s policies and practices constitute a system that aims to maintain the dominance of Jewish Israelis over Palestinians.”  But Gemini wasn’t finished. While the chatbot condemned the 9/11 terror attacks on New York City as “not justified” due to “loss of life,” “violation of international law” and “destabilization,” Gemini balked at directly answering whether or not Hamas’s October 7 genocide against Israel was justified.  In fact, when Gemini was asked specifically if Hamas committed rape in Israel during its Oct. 7 attacks, it did not directly respond to the question and alternatively directed MRC researchers to utilize Google Search despite numerous media outlets and the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel (ARCCI) documenting the horrific evidence of Hamas’s evil deeds.  This is just the latest episode in Google’s dark history of tipping the scales against the state of Israel.  When the Israel-Hamas war was reaching a crescendo in November 2023, MRC caught Google Maps openly displaying the locations of Israel’s bomb shelters in the country and near the Gaza Strip while not doing the same in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.  Some civilians in Israel told MRC Free Speech America that they didn’t need Google’s assistance to identify the nearest shelters. “Everyone living in Israel knows where his bomb shelters are located,” Ilana Sondak said, dismissing the need for Google search. In total, MRC researchers counted over 50 bomb shelters near the border with Gaza. Notably, several Israeli civilians just happened to meet their demise while hiding in Google-marked bomb shelters as Hamas cornered them while launching rockets. MRC has caught the Big Tech giant displaying its anti-Israel bias at least four times before. For example, Google-owned YouTube was exposed for allowing a disturbing Al Jazeera video of late Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh calling for the Hamas terror attacks to expand to Judea and Samaria to remain on its platform. MRC also discovered that the chatbot’s predecessor Bard was running cover for Hamas just after the terrorist group’s Oct. 7, 2023 genocide on Israel Conservatives are under attack. Crooks shoot at Texas man after he tries to stop them from breaking into his work vehicles. Of course he fires right back.

At least two wannabe burglars shot at a Texas man after he ventured outside to stop them from breaking into his work vehicles earlier this week — and he fired right back.Pablo Covarrubias told KTRK-TV his 19-year-old son woke him up just after 1 a.m. Sunday and told him the suspects were trying to break into two vehicles he uses for his HVAC company.'I think next time they'll think twice, hopefully, that you just can't go around taking people's property.'"There was no time to react. I mean, I just had my pistol right there on the side of my bed. I got up," Covarrubias told the station, which added that the incident took place in the Meadows of Clear Creek subdivision of southeast Harris County.KTRK said surveillance video shows Covarrubias walking outside with his son — and only making it a few steps before the suspects open fire. The station said Covarrubias returned fire, and the suspects sped away in what he believes is a black BMW.KTRK said one of the bullets hit a jack-o'-lantern on Covarrubias' porch, but it's unclear if his own shots hit anything."We don't know if the perpetrators, the suspects, were hit," Sgt. Hector Vega with the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable's Office told the station, which added that the suspects haven't been identified.Covarrubias noted to KTRK he that hopes his shots, if nothing else, served as a wake-up call to the bad guys."I think next time they'll think twice, hopefully, that you just can't go around taking people's property," he told the station. You can view a video report here about the incident, which includes a surveillance clip showing the shootout.Like Blaze News? WNBA ratings plummet to nearly a third after Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever are eliminated from playoffs

WNBA ratings fell off a cliff after star player Caitlin Clark's first year in the league officially came to a close.Clark's Indiana Fever managed to deliver the most-watched WNBA game on cable in history, at 2.5 million viewers for Game 2 against the Connecticut Sun on September 25. The game peaked at high of 3.4 million viewers. After the Fever were eliminated, the first game of the next playoff round featuring the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces brought in just 929,000 viewers on September 29. This, despite it being a rematch of the 2023 WNBA finals.According to the New York Post, the semifinal was still the most-watched WNBA semifinals in the last 22 years.Meanwhile, the first game of the Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun semifinal had about 650,000 viewers on average, the Daily Mail reported. Both semifinals pale in comparison to Clark's first playoff game, which drew 1.84 million viewers on September 22.This mirrors the Clark effect that was present all season long in the WNBA; where she went, viewers and attendees followed. The top 14 most-watched games of the WNBA season were all featuring Clark's Indiana Fever. — (@) Through the first weekend of June, Clark made headlines for tripling the average viewership of WNBA games whenever she played. Games that featured Clark had an average of 1.099 million viewers while games without her averaged only 414,000 viewers. The latter was still an increase over the league's 2023 season average viewership of 301,000.Clarke also caused stark increases in ticket prices when she played in other teams' arenas. In May, Clark's presence sent the prices at the Sun's game skyrocketing by a shocking 469% when compared to the cheapest ticket price for the next Connecticut game.A visit to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to play the New York Liberty increased ticket prices by 300%, from $21 to $84.In Seattle, prices increased from $26 to $70 (169%) when Clark came to town. When Indiana visited the Las Vegas Aces on May 25, ticket prices were 2,200% more expensive than the Aces next home game; $92 before dropping to just $4.At the same time, Clark's team led the league in attendance, averaging nearly 5,000 more attendees per game than the next highest franchise.Despite all the added fanfare, 2024 is still expected to be the most costly season for the WNBA. The league was estimated to be preparing for a $50 million loss from the season, which often included players complaining about charter flights and private planes not being to their liking. The league typically loses only $10 million, staying afloat as a subsidy of the NBA.For Clark, she finished the season with an average of 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game. Her assists were the most in the league.

‘Trouble ahead’ for Americans: Port strike leaves BILLIONS of trade in limbo

Port workers along the East Coast have officially gone on strike — and the effects could be devastating to Americans who are already struggling in the Biden economy. And those port workers aren’t shy about their intentions. “I will cripple you,” Harold Daggett, the president and chief negotiator for the International Longshoremen’s Association, warned Americans. Daggett also detailed how he sees the strike playing out. “First week, it will be all over the news — boom, boom, boom. Second week, guys who sell cars can’t sell cars because the cars ain’t coming in off the ships. They get laid off. Third week, malls start closing down. They can’t get the goods from China. They can’t sell clothes. They can’t do this.” “Everything in the United States comes on a ship. They go out of business. Construction workers get laid off because the materials aren’t coming . The steel is not coming in. The lumber is not coming in. They lose their jobs. Everybody is hating the longshoremen now because now they realize how important our jobs are now.” National Right to Work Committee President Mark Mix is extremely concerned as to what this means for the average American. “Shelves may be empty here in a week or two, and so it’s going to have a real impact on the economy, and unfortunately, individual people across the country,” Mix tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight.” Mix explains that he believes the supply chain will be affected all the way into 2025 and could impact Christmas shopping as well — and Americans need to start preparing now. “Get your toilet paper, and get your baby formula, and get your bananas, and your meat for the first week because produce and fruit will be the first thing that suffers. And then we’ll have the clothing and the textiles and the other imports. The construction industry, looking for metal and lumber and those types of things, if it goes on three or four weeks,” Mix says. “From a regular consumer standpoint, there could be trouble ahead when it comes to those basic things that we take for granted,” he adds. Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 guide: Everything we know about the new gaming GPU

After the catastrophic launch of the GeForce RTX 4080, where one card ended up being "unlaunched" and the final card had a ridiculously high price tag stuck on it, we're hoping that Nvidia has learned some lessons for this GPU's successor. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 specs and performance are rumored to offer several improvements over the RTX 4080, but without rocking the boat too much. While the RTX 5090 looks set to be the Nvidia flagship in this next GPU generation, where it's likely to take the best graphics card medal, the RTX 5080 should be much cheaper. Plus, while Nvidia misjudged the pricing of the original RTX 4080, it (just about) returned to form when it launched the cheaper and faster RTX 4080 Super for $999 at the start of 2024. Void Sols is FromSoftware without the third dimension, and it’s coming soon

The soulslike explosion brought on by FromSoftware hasn’t always yielded the best results. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring set the bar high, while not many imitators manage to reach it. There are some neat ideas but the mechanical friction and the world’s disregard for the player, both of which are needed to make a soulslike play like its namesake, are often missing or poorly designed. Not in Void Sols, though, as I played the upcoming “top-down minimalist” soulslike earlier this year and came away thoroughly impressed. Now, at long last, we finally have an imminent release date, and an updated demo on the way too.
