Paramount and Saber Interactive are teaming up to make the action RPG, which will put you in control of an “all-new, never-before-seen Avatar.” Details about the upcoming game are still slim, but the companies tell IGN that it will let players master all four elements with “dynamic combat alongside companions” as well as “experience the challenges and decisions that come with being the keeper of balance in the world.” Since the release of the animated ATLA series in 2005, we’ve seen several video game and live-action adaptations, including one on Netflix. It’s the fifth recall for the polarizing electric truck since Tesla started customer deliveries last November. Other recalls have involved faulty wipers, loose trim, and jammed accelerator pedals. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s report, the recall applies to over 27,000 Cybertrucks “manufactured between November 13th, 2023 and September 14th, 2024,” which applies to essentially every Cybertruck ever made. Tesla Cybertrucks running version 2024.32.5.2 or later could have a condition where the reverse camera feed “may appear blank for up to 6 to 8 seconds” if the customer tries to back up... The app will automatically generate an Offline Backup playlist filled with recently streamed and queued songs that have already been downloaded and cached, and it will “evolve” over time and customize the playlist based on your listening habits. The streaming app already allows you to download tracks and playlists that can be played offline, but that needs to be done manually while a data connection is available. Spotify’s Offline Backup is an alternative for those times when an internet connection disappears unexpectedly or when you intentionally turn it off, like when activating airplane mode during a flight. ... In the push to rename Columbus Day, Christopher Columbus himself has become a metaphor for the evils of early colonial empires, and rightly so. The Italian explorer who set out across the Atlantic in search of Asia was a notorious advocate for enslaving the Indigenous Taínos of the Caribbean. In the words of historian Andrés Reséndez, he “intended to turn the Caribbean into another Guinea,” the region of West Africa that had become a European slave-trading hub. By 1506, however, Columbus was dead. Most of the genocidal acts of violence that defined the colonial period were carried out by many, many others. In the long shadow of Columbus, we sometimes lose sight of the ideas, laws and ordinary people who enabled colonial violence on a large scale.
