Goldie Hawn Shares She And Kurt Russell’s Parenting Methods As She Becomes A Grandparent Again
Goldie Hawn enjoys having grandchildren even though she misses being a mother. The 78-year-old shared some of her experiences parenting with Kurt Russell and how she finds them useful even as her children welcome their children.
Hawn and Kurt’s relationship began in 1983, and they welcomed a son, Wyatt Russell, in 1986. Hawn had two children, Kate and Oliver Hudson, from her first marriage to Bill Hudson, while Kurt Russell had a son, Boston Russell with Season Hubley. However, since Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell started co-parenting, they have nurtured the four children without bias despite the circumstances of their relationship.

In a recent episode of Hoda Kotb’s podcast, Making Space, Goldie Hawn described the joy of being a grandmother, saying she “misses being a mother.” She also recalled the changes that occurred when her children started giving birth and having a family of their own.
“But they are the parents,” she said, acknowledging that one must be watchful to not continue deciding for them at this stage. Therefore, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell allow their children to choose any parenting style with their children even though both have so much experience in this area.

Hawn stated that one of the most beautiful parts of parenting is children’s love, recalling when her youngest son, Wyatt used to talk playfully about her big rings. “No one will love you like your children do. And that’s the most important part of your life,” she said, encouraging other parents to enjoy the period when they are still raising their children.

Meanwhile, as much as Goldie Hawn misses parenting, she enjoys spending time with her grandkids alongside Kurt Russell. They welcomed their first grandchild in 2004 and recently announced the arrival of another grandchild earlier this year. Despite having 8 grandchildren and the wide age gap between them, Hawn shared that she had not “changed at all,” although she is aware of the different demands that come with both.

Several times, Goldie Hawn has been spotted with her grandchildren in public places, wearing similar dresses that show their closeness and her love for them, just as she recently said, “I do love being a grandmother.” And Hawn also shares pictures on her Instagram account. Goldie Hawn’s parenting style is also an inspiration to her children as they all desire to raise their children with the same love and confidence she gave to them.
