Netflix co-founder donated $7 million to Kamala's campaign. Then came a tidal wave of cancelations.

Netflix co-founder donated $7 million to Kamala's campaign. Then came a tidal wave of cancelations.

In the summer, it was revealed that the co-founder of Netflix not only endorsed the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris but also deposited millions into the coffers of the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee. The heavy-handed advocacy for Harris appears to have backfired as cancelations on the streaming behemoth soared directly after the political endorsement. As Blaze News reported in early July, several high-profile Democratic donors demanded that President Joe Biden drop out of the 2024 presidential race following his disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Included among the Democratic donors who called on Biden to drop out was Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings.Netflix is the latest major company to suffer a boycott at the hands of conservative consumers."Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous," Hastings said in July. Once Harris was installed as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hastings donated a whopping $7 million to Kamala's campaign. Hastings told The Information that it was the single-largest political donation that he had ever doled out. Hastings, a longtime Democratic donor, has a net worth of $4.3 billion, according to Forbes. Hastings said of Kamala's campaign, “After the depressing debate, we are in the game again.”Hastings wrote on the X social media platform on July 23, "Congrats to Kamala Harris — now it is time to win."As soon as the extremely generous donation and public endorsement was revealed, it ignited a backlash against Hastings and the streaming behemoth. Many conservatives called for a boycott of Netflix in response to Hastings supporting Harris. The hashtag "CancelNetflix" began trending on social media. Many users shared screenshots of their canceled Netflix subscriptions online. A new report revealed that Netflix suffered a major spike in cancelations after the streaming service's chairman endorsed Harris. Antenna — a research website that has a mission to "expand knowledge of subscriber behavior" — reported that the rate of Netflix cancelations nearly tripled in the United States immediately following the Harris endorsement by Hastings. The tidal wave of cancelations reportedly lasted a few days. Some subscribers were also upset because Netflix discontinued its basic plan for new users in the same month. However, Bloomberg reported that "the five-day period after Hastings’ endorsement was unusual, even for July." July 26 — three days after Hastings' endorsement of Harris — was the single-worst day for Netflix cancelations this year. The outlet noted that the surge of cancelations wasn't as severe as the 2020 boycott of Netflix over the movie "Cuties," which many conservatives believed sexually exploited children. Netflix did not respond to a request for comment from Bloomberg. Netflix is the latest major company to suffer a boycott at the hands of conservative consumers. Companies such as Bud Light, Target, Disney, Ford, Harley-Davidson, Tractor Supply, Jack Daniel's, and John Deere have seen conservatives boycott or threaten to boycott over liberal policies. Trump steps up as Biden-Harris administration ABANDONS Hurricane Helene victims

While Kamala Harris stages photos of herself hard at work on a plane drawing on a blank piece of paper, wearing wired headphones that aren't plugged into anything, Donald Trump is visiting the areas affected by Hurricane Helene and raising money for victims. And our commander in chief, Joe Biden, is telling reporters that “no more resources” will be sent to those suffering. “I just want you to think about, when times really get tough and we really have some sort of a crisis in this country, choose your fighter. Who do you want to lead?” Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” says, adding, “How many billions of dollars have we given to Ukraine?” “They get all the resources in the world. You can’t give any more resources once you see the absolute tragedy that has happened in our country? How much money did we give to Moderna and Pfizer and all of these medical-industrial complex companies, Big Pharma companies, for an injection that harms people?” Gonzales continues. “They have the resources then, but now, when Americans are in need, no more resources will be going there,” she adds. Besides staging photo ops, Kamala is campaigning in Las Vegas, 2,000 miles away from the most severely affected areas. “Rather than take the opportunity to show true leadership in the time of crisis,” Gonzales says, disgusted, before pivoting to some of Trump's classic comedic relief. When the former president was on the ground to speak to survivors of the hurricane, a reporter asked him if he’d spoken to President Biden. “Have you reached out to President Biden about federal relief efforts?” the reporter asked Trump, who was clad in his signature “Make America Great Again” hat. “No, I haven’t reached out to him. I think he’s sleeping right now,” Trump answered. “Choose your fighter, America,” Gonzales says again, adding, “We know that he’s a true leader.” Want more from Sara Gonzales? To enjoy more of Sara's no-holds-barred take to news and culture, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

List of 'many powerful people' allegedly implicated in Sean 'Diddy' Combs scandal will be exposed, says attorney for victims

An attorney for more than 100 alleged victims in the heinous accusations engulfing rapper mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs said that a list of "many powerful people" implicated in the crimes will be revealed. Attorney Tony Buzbee made the comments at a press conference Tuesday from Houston, Texas. 'There are a myriad of people who are very nervous. You can’t hide skeletons in the closet forever.' “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,” he said. Combs is accused of various crimes related to allegedly debaucherous parties involving drugs, alcohol, and non-consensual sex. Federal prosecutors charged Combs with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and interstate transportation for prostitution. “The day will come when we will name names other than Sean Combs, and there’s a lot of names. It’s a long list already, but because of the nature of this case, we are going to make damn sure — damn sure — we are right before we do that,” said Buzbee. “The names will shock you," he promised. The attorney said that those powerful people involved in the parties encouraged the abuse at his parties, which go as far back as 1991 and mostly occurred in California, New York, Georgia, and Florida. He went through some of the horrifying stories of alleged victims that he said were being corroborated for a lawsuit. Buzbee had advice for some of those alleged accomplices. “These people who know who they are should just come forward now,” he continued. “I would imagine that as we speak here, there are a myriad of people who are very nervous. You can’t hide skeletons in the closet forever. I would expect there are many people out there right now who are desperately searching their memories as they delete their texts and data.”Buzbee said that one of the alleged victims was as young as 9 years old at the time of the abuse. Part of the press conference can be viewed on a video news report from WNYW-TV on YouTube. Like Blaze News?
