Sister-In-Law “Gifts” Baby To Olympian Who Struggles To Have Child Of Her Own

Cayla George, an Australian basketball star, had a lot going on for her leading up to the World Cup in 2022. But amidst her athletic successes, she was also struggling. For some time, she and her husband, Kailou George, had been trying to have a baby. Unfortunately for the couple, it seemed that pregnancy wasn’t in the cards for them. Adoption remained an option, but thanks to the kindness of Cayla’s sister-in-law, they had another option to consider. Both Kailou and his sister, Nina, are Torres Strait Islanders. In their culture, it’s not uncommon for someone to gift a baby to a family member who is struggling with fertility. So, when Nina learned that it seemed Cayla would never get pregnant, she didn’t hesitate to offer her help. Watch Cayla talk about Nina in the video below. @twodotingdads Such an incredicle story!! Although it has been around quite some time, it officially became legally recognized in Australia just two years ago. Needless to say, choosing to gift a baby to someone is no small act of kindness. That’s why both Cayla and Kailou couldn’t be more grateful. “I can never fully repay you for this incredible gift of life,” Cayla wrote to Nina in a social media post before her baby was born, “BUT I promise to LOVE Pearly Girl with everything I have.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by CAYLA GEORGE (@cfrannykg) When an Olympic Star Struggles With Infertility, Her Sister-in-Law Gifts Her Own Baby Nina’s kindness continues to melt hearts of folks from all around the world! “The moment she said ‘I’ve been holding this baby for you and she has been yours’ I burst into tears.
