Man Creates Magical Mini Blockbuster In His Closet & The Results Are Nostalgia At It’s Best

Today’s children will never know the wonder of wandering through a Blockbuster video store. The iconic blue and yellow sign shaped like a movie ticket meant a fun family movie night. Families would browse the store, arguing about which movie to take home. When John Martino realized he had collected a lot of VHS tapes, he decided to make a special storage area for them. He converted a tiny closet into a mini Blockbuster, which is impressive. Image from TikTok. John documented the project in a TikTok slide show. He decided to convert a small closet into a video storage space. The idea of styling the space like a mini Blockbuster hit him like a runaway freight train. John got paint, ordered a sign, picked a nice carpet, and went to work. Image from TikTok. With the carpet in place and the walls painted a sunshine yellow, John added shelves. The old video stores were well-lit, and John wanted his mini Blockbuster to be as realistic as possible, so he added remote-controlled lighting. When the sign was mounted, a few final touches were added. John included a small rack on the wall for staff picks and a collection of movie theater candy. He didn’t want to leave out his “son,” so a revolving floor rack was added to house his pug’s favorite movies. Image from TikTok. As his video collection grew, John had to add shelves to his mini Blockbuster and another feature featuring “Coming Soon” titles. John worked hard to include every detail from his memories. However, only one Blockbuster video store is still open, so he couldn’t go to a store for inspiration. John did a fantastic job converting his closet to a mini Blockbuster. Please share.
