As Hurricane Helene hit Florida, many people were forced to evacuate their homes. However, this man didn’t want to evacuate the storm. Instead, he stayed behind and documented the hurricane’s impact. He decided to record a TikTok as Hurricane Helene hit and went viral as he used a kayak to maneuver about his home. In an interview with CNN, he said he had survived Hurricane Andrew in 1992, so he had confidence that he could also survive this one. When the news anchor asked him how far the water had risen in his house, Matthew replied, “Within two hours, I had four feet of water in the house.” While most of us would be frantic and fleeing, Matthew decided to make the best of the situation. The man grabbed a kayak and used it to navigate around his home. Matthew admitted that he didn’t think this hurricane was going to be that big, however, he was proven wrong. While using the kayak to navigate his home during Hurricane Helene he decided to document the moment on TikTok. Hurricane Helene Kayaker Goes Viral While on the kayak, viewers can see him holding his phone and recording the scene. He told Matthew he wouldn’t be smiling like him if he was in that position. Matthew responds with, “It is what it is. We’ve got our health and that’s all that matters.” The internet had mixed feelings towards Matthew and his kayaking ways during Hurricane Helene. One user challenged his belief of not expecting the storm to be that big. She commented, “It was literally reported the storm surge would be that big.” Another user commended Matthew’s attitude. He stated, “This guy has the greatest attitude ever. Wow!” Despite the mixed reactions online, we are happy that Matthew and his kayak are safe and sound after surviving Hurricane Helene. Author and crazy person Fran Lebowitz joined HBO’s Bill Maher on Friday’s episode of Real Time and suggested that President Joe Biden “dissolve the Supreme Court” because it is “Trump’s harem.” Questions of sarcasm versus sincerity aside, Lebowitz made the suggestion by relying on a false interpretation of the Court’s immunity ruling that claimed the president is now the king and can do whatever he wants. Maher was dismayed that Donald Trump’s trials will not impact the election and blamed Democrats, “Democrats had time to do this—time, four years and they had the power. They were in office and the attorney general was Merrick Garland, and yet it all went away, and now the Supreme Court has ruled that he's not liable for any of this.”     Lebowitz, who on a previous Real Time appearance dreamed about Trump being executed by the Saudis, responded by claiming the blame should be solely placed at the Supreme Court, “What he had was the Supreme Court. Okay, so, you know, the Democrats had elected people, the Supreme Court is completely his, you know, I mean, it's so disgraceful, this Court. They shouldn't even be allowed to be called the Supreme Court.” For Lebowitz, the only three “real judges” on the Court are the ones who rule the way she wants: It's an insult to Motown to call it the Supreme Court. It’s not even a court; it's only a court in the sense that the court of Louis XVI was a court, you know. Basically it's a harem, okay? It's a harem, it’s Trump's harem. So, I always feel sorry for the three real judges on the Court. You know, I know a lot of people have jobs, not me, not you, and you have to go to work every day, and there are people you don't like at work, but can you imagine going to work every day—Alito, you have to go work with Alito, with Kavanaugh? She then had a suggestion for Biden: What Biden should do, not that you asked, but when they passed that law, the Supreme Court passed that ruling, you know, where they said you're not the president, you're the king, which is what that ruling is, you can do whatever you want, you can never be held responsible, I thought Joe Biden is still president, no one seems to notice, but Biden should dissolve the Supreme Court. Even Maher cringed at that, “Dissolve the Supreme Court? Come on.” Lebowitz then doubled down, “I’m the president, I’m the king now, as you said, and go home.” The Court ruled that the president cannot be prosecuted for official acts, but can be for unofficial acts, and official acts can still be struck down as unconstitutional. The president is still not a king, but at least Lebowitz admitted that she’s the one who is power drunk. Hixson on Friday denied the company’s request for more time to produce 1.3 million documents related to App Store changes it made in January to comply with a 2021 court order. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who presided over the Epic lawsuit that resulted in those changes, told Apple’s legal team on May 31st it would need to produce all documents related to how it decided the new App Store rules after Epic challenged them.
