Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called emergency meetings late on Friday night after Israel launched a powerful airstrike targeting Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iranian-backed terrorist group, at an underground compound Friday afternoon in Beirut. Khamenei called the meeting of the Supreme National Security Council at his home compound, the first meeting since Israel killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. Israeli intelligence agencies said in an initial assessment that they believe that Nasrallah was killed in the strike, but cautioned that confirmation was still needed. It is believed that several other top Hezbollah, as well as potentially officials with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were also killed in the attack. The world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism also pushed for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a group of 57 Islamic nations, in response to the attack. The New York Times reported that while Iran responded to the strike by blustering in public statements, privately they were panicking over Hezbollah’s silence following the attack, believing that it was a sign of bad news. Iran’s Foreign Ministry claimed that the strikes were an “undeniable war crime” even though Hezbollah, at Nasrallah’s direction, has fired thousands of missiles, rockets, and drones in unprovoked attacks over the last year. “Therefore, without a doubt, the U.S. regime is an accomplice to the Zionist regime and must be held accountable,” the statement claimed. “The continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes against the people of Palestine and Lebanon clearly shows that the call for a ceasefire by the U.S. and some Western countries is a blatant deception aimed at buying time to allow the Zionist regime to continue its crimes against the people of Palestine and Lebanon.”

The results of a new poll in Georgia have upended the Democratic Party’s insistence that reelecting former President Donald Trump would equal “a danger to Democracy.” In the CBS News/YouGov poll of registered voters in the state, taken between September 20-24, more respondents agreed that a Trump victory would mean making the “U.S. Democracy” stronger compared to a Vice President Kamala Harris win. In the poll of 1,441 registered Georgia voters — taken after the Trump-Harris presidential debate — respondents were asked, “If Harris wins, do you think her policies would make U.S. democracy…stronger or weaker?” Forty-two percent said stronger while another 45% thought it would make it weaker. They were also asked, “If Trump wins, do you think his policies in a 2nd term would make U.S. democracy…stronger or weaker?” In response, 45% of voters said that it will make the U.S. stronger compared to 42% who felt it would make the country weaker. The definition of “likely voters” was determined “using a regression model that incorporates current, self-reported intentions to vote, along with individual-level and aggregate data about voters, such as demographics and vote history.” The results of the Georgia poll were similar to other polling this week, specifically that of Gallup, which for the first time in decades found more voters identifying with the Republicans than Democrats, as previously reported. In an average of Gallup polls taken between July and September, 48% of voters surveyed either identified as Republicans or leaned Republican, while 45% of voters identified as Democrats or leaned Democrat. 46% of voters thought that the GOP was better able to handle the most important problem facing the country, as opposed to 41% who chose the Democrats. Gallup listed the issues that voters thought were most important as the economy and immigration. 50% of voters deemed the GOP better equipped to keep America prosperous, while 46% thought the Democrats would do the job better. A whopping difference came between the 54% of voters who thought the GOP was better able to keep America safe from international threats versus the 40% who chose the Democrats. A letter from congressional Democrats called to remove protections from the LGBTQ+ agenda on the U.S. military just weeks before Americans decide who will lead the government at the ballot. Roy said the efforts would lead to the military promoting "transgender surgeries, drag shows, transgender books," and “pride flags.”The letter appeared to reference these expressions of support for the LGBTQ+ movement when Democrats called for Congress to "ensure that LGBTQ+ service members and family members feel welcome in the military and that symbols and art forms related to the LGBTQ+ community are not singled out for censorship."One of the signatories posted about the letter on her social media account."Our military should be welcoming to anyone willing and able to serve. That's why I led 162 House Democrats in calling to remove anti-LGBTQ+ provisions from this year's NDAA," wrote Rep. Sarah Jacobs of California. The letter was also signed by Democratic Reps. An Oklahoma man resigned as pastor of St. Andrew Christian Church in Tulsa after being accused of horrific child sex abuse and incest crimes by his daughter in a social media post. Bertheophilus Maurice "Judge" Bailey Sr. is accused of allegedly beginning the years-long abuse when the victim was in the sixth grade, according to an affidavit. He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. 'I would call him my best friend only to hide the reality of what I was living.' "As a victim of sexual and mental abuse at the hands of Pastor Bailey for over a decade, I feel compelled to warn others about his predatory behavior," she wrote on Facebook. "Despite his status as a respected member of the community, it is essential to shed light on his actions to prevent further harm to unsuspecting individuals." The abuse allegedly began when the pastor would pray on the girl's body and use the occasion to touch her. The abuse worsened as the girl grew older, according to prosecutors. "He would pray over me at first, but he would do a lot of touching while he was praying," Harmony Oates told KJRH-TV. The affidavit included damning text messages allegedly between the two. "I am an adulterer. I am a child molester. I am a rapist," he reportedly wrote in one text. Police said in another text that Bailey admitted to watching pornography involving incest and justified his acting out what he saw in the pornography. They have also reportedly obtained recordings and other witness statements to corroborate her accusations. "The thing is whenever I was a kid I separated my dad from who he was. I had to that's the only way I survived," Oates continued. "I would call him my best friend only to hide the reality of what I was living."She said that she first told her husband and then her brother before having the difficult conversation with her mother. "Coming out of the darkness by speaking out makes you a survivor," she added. Bailey is being held on a $500,000 bond. He is charged with incest, child sex abuse, forcible sodomy, first-degree burglary, and two counts of first-degree rape. Oates said she is rediscovering God after the alleged abuse. "I'm learning more and I know he has me and he has every other victim. And I know that he has been guiding me through this whole journey and I know he will come for me like a father even though my dad did not," Oates said.As of Friday, Bailey is still identified at the church's website as the pastor, though he has reportedly resigned.
