CNBC Misses Mark as Trump Blasts Google Bias Exposed By Media Research Center

CNBC staff largely missed the point as they reported on a former president’s outraged response to Google bias demonstrated in an MRC study. CNBC Senior Washington Correspondent Eamon Javers responded to a Truth Social post by former President Donald Trump on the Sept. 27 edition of Power Lunch. In his post, Trump blasted Google for placing negative news stories above his campaign website, a clear example of bias exposed by MRC Assistant Editor Gabriela Pariseau. But instead of delving into Google’s bias, Javers used it as an opportunity to claim that Trump wants to control the media. “So the former president of the United States here [is] certainly trying to work the refs in terms of media coverage of himself,” Javers said.  When MRC researchers searched for “donald trump presidential race 2024,” Google topped its results with a number of articles from publications hostile to the former president. For example, stories from The New York Times, Politico and Jeff Bezos’s The Washington Post appeared before Trump’s campaign website which Google displayed as the sixth result. Not a single right-leaning news source appeared in the search results. In response, Trump lashed out at Google. “It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump wrote. He went on to refer to Google’s behavior as “ILLEGAL ACTIVITY” and promised to prosecute their election interference when he takes office.  After reading this post on air, Javers proceeded to ignore Google’s flagrant bias and the fact that it elevated articles from only left-leaning news sources above Trump’s website, burying it. Instead, Javers painted Trump’s concerns as primarily rooted in authoritarianism and ego. He said that Trump was “threatening to put the Department of Justice on [Google] once he's elected if they don't conform to what he wants, which is positive stories to be displayed in Google's search results.”  Wrong! The former president is complaining that people who search for his website are force-fed a group of negative articles instead. Google is burying his campaign website underneath all this bad press. This would not be the first time Google buried Trump’s campaign website. Before Google began to make users run the gauntlet of negative coverage to see Trump’s campaign website, the search engine frequently buried the former president so far down that his campaign website did not appear on the first page of results. Google did this during the Republican National Convention, ahead of the July presidential debate between Trump and Biden and when Trump was in the news due to a guilty verdict following Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s politicized prosecution of the former president.  This is just one of a myriad of ways that Google has interfered in American elections on behalf of the company’s favored candidates. In fact, Google interfered in American elections no fewer than 41 times from 2008 to 2024, including by burying 83 percent of the Republican campaign websites for the most competitive Senate races of 2022.  Conservatives are under attack! BEWARE: Biden and Big Tech’s Global Push for Censorship and AI Control

Big Tech companies and government entities have united in an international push to control speech online and especially to control artificial intelligence (AI). The State Department announced Monday a new AI partnership with Google, Amazon, Meta, Anthropic, Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM and OpenAI. The State Department promised up to $33 million in new AI-related commitments on top of the previous $15 million in taxpayer dollars to advance the AI goals of the United Nations’ Orwellian 2030 Agenda. This week, the UN revealed a “Global Digital Compact” explicitly endorsing online censorship. The UN compact insists on “international cooperation to address the challenge of misinformation and disinformation and hate speech online.” To that end, it  “urgently” recommends that “stakeholders” call on tech companies to “enhance the transparency and accountability of their systems, including terms of service, content moderation and recommendation algorithms … to empower users to make informed choices and provide or withdraw informed consent.”  Notably, “content moderation” is a leftist catchword for censorship. According to the UN, this recommendation is drawn from two of Agenda 2030’s 17 policy proposals, also dubbed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  How will this look in practice? The State Department and Big Tech have a plan, it seems. The Partnership for Global Inclusivity on AI (PGIAI)—announced in a Sept. 23 State Department release which also affirmed dedication to the SDGs—will be funded by over $100 million collectively committed by the government and the tech companies. The State Department is committing up to $33 million in “Foreign Assistance” and “to promote the responsible use and governance of AI globally.”  Google is promising $120 million “to support a Global AI Opportunity Fund to make AI education and training available,” besides other hefty grants. Microsoft has assigned a whopping $12 billion for “AI data center infrastructure, connectivity, and skilling in the Global South.” The other companies will invest amounts ranging from $1 million to $45 million in various AI-related projects. The State Department press release said PGIAI has “an unwavering commitment to safety, security, and trustworthiness in AI systems,” but did not clarify how that security will be achieved. The federal agency linked to a document, titled “Risk Management Profile for Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights,” highlighting “disinformation,” a word commonly used by leftists to justify censorship. The release also emphasized the Biden-Harris administration’s dedication to the SDGs, indicating the PGIAI supports censorship. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. NewsBusters Podacst: The View Falls Head Over Heels for Biden, Assassin Looms

NewsBusters Media Editor Bill and I are at the helm this episode as we analyze the President Biden’s appearance on ABC’s The View; we should all be so lucky to find someone who looks at us the way they looked at him. We also discuss Bill’s discovery of a disturbing trend that seems to have emerged from ABC and CNN’s coverage of a letter written by the second would-be assassin, which put a bounty on former President Trump’s head. Finally, we look at the woke mind virus that’s beginning to infest a part of our childhood. The liberal ladies of ABC’s The View and the fake Republicans professed their love to President Biden this week in a nauseating gushfest. They beclowned themselves with statements like this: “His legacy will be etched in the history books as [George] Washington, as someone who put that ego aside and put his country first. That’s definitely his legacy.” Then there was their dehumanizing and violent rhetoric against Trump, which matched their 100 percent negative coverage of him post-second assassination attempt, which we also review. On the issue of the second assassination attempt, Bill walks us through his study looking at the differences in how media outlets approached covering the would-be assassin’s letter placing a bounty on Trump’s head. ABC and CNN seemed to have a particularly disturbing obsession with it. In addition to rounding out the episode with an update on the state of the defamation suit against CNN, Bill and I lament that the woke mind virus has now made its way to Pokémon.

A call to ‘none of the above’ conservatives

Forget the “NeverTrumpers” supporting Kamala Harris. Most are caught up in ego, appeasing their newfound progressive donors, or so busy protecting a brand that they forget what conservatism is supposed to be about: advancing good ideas and stopping bad ideas. The sad reality is that many stopped supporting GOP candidates and truly fighting for conservative ideals long before Trump. Though they see themselves as the “keepers of the flame,” they’ve forgotten that William Buckley introduced conservatism to America by explaining that sometimes we are called to run into the town square and yell: “Stop!” Trump is the first Republican in 40 years to lead Team “Stop!” We aren’t fighting the 1984 of Reagan versus Mondale. We’re fighting against Orwell’s “1984.” These NeverTrumpers fail to appreciate history and don’t realize what many conservatives — and most MAGA populists — noticed: NeverTrumpers are part of the GOP that is so afraid of offending the Georgetown/Manhattan crowd that they never yell and rarely fight. And they never actually stop the left. Instead, they often have sat back or cut deals to allow the left to partly advance its harmful agenda — and then toast each other when they “slow down” America’s leftward lurch. However, the focus here is the other “leadership” group of writers, commentators, and policy leaders. Their logic follows: “I’m a conservative and can’t vote for Harris, but Trump is a non-starter, so I’m not going to vote for either candidate.” This “none of the above” group does include some people many of us still respect when it comes to crafting policies and conservative thought leadership. Members of this group write columns or appear on talk shows and podcasts. They craft and advance conservative policies, combatting the “welfare state,” the “nanny state,” and totalitarianism, be it socialism or communism. Many do it well. Unlike the NeverTrumpers, many members of the “none of the above” group sometimes fight, advancing good — and stopping bad — policies. I’m hopeful enough to believe that we can reason with this group and call them to our shared cause. Many are so upset with Trump’s behavior at times that they have forgotten the sage advice of Michael Corleone: “Never act out of anger, it clouds your judgment.” All too often, this group's members point their anger at Trump. They blast his comments, his social media posts, and even his policies. They criticize his words and behavior and argue that he “isn’t a true conservative.” Here’s the good and bad news: He doesn’t claim to be a “conservative leader.” Trump is a populist — making sure the voiceless are heard, not forgotten, and that their families, communities, and values aren’t trampled on — or made fun of. The good news is that Trump holds many conservative principles and fights for many traditional American values. Conservatives’ best calling is to help Trump win — to stop the harm of the left. And, when elected, we must work with his team to enact our common goals, modify them as needed, and — yes, if necessary — stop his bad ideas. Not your father’s Democratic Party The modern iteration of the Democratic Party, represented by Kamala Harris, is not the party once represented by Walter Mondale or even Hillary Clinton. It’s a left-wing ideology that does not want to make America great again because its proponents view America as flawed, immoral, and a failed experiment. They openly reject capitalism, American exceptionalism, and the Constitution. Harris seeks to rule by executive order and to place Cabinet and sub-Cabinet ideologues in the Justice Department, Department of Defense, Border Patrol, EPA, and Department of Education. On the issue of school choice, the party doesn’t even think parents should be in charge of raising their kids when it comes to school policies — let alone “allow” them to select their child’s school. Their agenda includes open borders, defunding the police, banning fracking, imposing policies that have demonstrably harmed public education and our students — and then forcing poor and working-class children to attend those “schools,” “canceling” student loans, packing the Supreme Court, and “limiting” the First Amendment. Respectfully, how can my conservative friends say that they cannot vote to stop her, to stop them? If their leftist agenda isn’t enough to compel you to support Trump, I ask you to do what you ask him to do: Put down the keyboards and iPhones. We do not need you critiquing every outburst, speech, or policy. You’re harming him — and harming those of your brethren who are helping him, trying to build a majority coalition. The real fight we face It’s been written and even said by some conservatives on television and radio that our conservative movement is bigger than Trump. Some have said our movement is more important than any election. Respectfully, it’s not. First, we aren’t fighting the 1984 of Reagan versus Mondale; we’re fighting against Orwell’s “1984.” Not merely conservatives, but America cannot afford to allow Harris to institutionalize and nationalize the agenda of the left. Our philosophy and our values do exist to influence elections, to then govern — or stop bad policies. Second, the gravely mistaken idea that we can block Harris’ policies if she wins, or negotiate with her, ignores the harm that she can do unilaterally and that will be done by her appointees. Plus, it presumes that congressional Republicans will be smart enough, organized enough, and courageous enough to fight back. Then, there’s this naïve idea that “once Trump is gone, we can go back to normal” and debate tax policy. But things haven’t been “normal” since the Obamas pledged to radically transform the United States. And in the Biden era, from open borders to our schools, things haven’t been “normal” in Washington, our local school districts, or our cities — and we’re not debating tax policy any more. We’re fighting to preserve capitalism, national security, and the Bill of Rights. To our conservative “none of the above” brethren, I urge you to reconsider. Help us to get our fellow Americans to go to the ballot box and vote Team “Stop!” And if you cannot do that, please put down the keyboards and iPhones. Let Trump be Trump so that in 2025 we all can come together to stop the left, advance Trump’s good policies, and work to fix the bad ones. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s new game mode sees player count double on Steam

Even if a game is very nasty indeed, it’s nice to see it do well. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a grim title filled with absolutely excruciating murders, and it just launched a new mode, at least for players who have bought the game’s content pass. Even though it has a limited release right now it’s done wonders for the game’s Steam player numbers, with them more than doubling.
