Cartels Are Still Stealing Critical Infrastructure

The Texas oil thefts are linked to illegal immigration. It’s confirmed. They are stealing critical infrastructure, as Sentinel reported on September 6. The Washington Examiner reported it in May! Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) plans to introduce a bill in the next few days that is one step in a long-term effort to go after the […] The post Cartels Are Still Stealing Critical Infrastructure appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Kamala Harris’s Freudian Slip & She’s So Coming for Our Guns

Kamala, who has spent her entire career advocating for radical gun control and mandatory gun confiscation, wants you to think she has suddenly fallen in love with guns. She claims she is a gun owner, but I don’t believe her. She wants to sound like a cowgirl or the Terminator. Kamala Harris said she would […] The post Kamala Harris’s Freudian Slip & She’s So Coming for Our Guns appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Kamala, Who Called ‘Stand Your Ground’ Laws Racist, Says She’ll Shoot Someone Entering Her Home

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris suddenly championed the right to bear arms and defend oneself in one’s home, saying she would shoot someone who would break into her home. Winfrey mentioned Harris acknowledging she was a gun owner in her debate with former President Donald Trump. “I did not know that,” Winfrey said. “And I thought that was powerful.” “If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot, sorry,” Harris answered. Kamala Harris: “I’m a gun owner…If someone breaks in my house, they’re getting shot, sorry. I probably should not have said that. Hahaha! My staff will deal with that later. Hahaha!” pic.twitter.com/wF6KufDqfY — Conservative War Machine (@WarMachineRR) September 20, 2024 Yet in 2020, Harris said Stand Your Ground laws were racist, saying, “These Stand Your Ground laws and these states that have these citizens’ arrest laws have often, often and frequently been used as an excuse if not a cover for people who are motivated by racism and racial profiling. And so we have seen that. And we have seen that it has been used as an excuse to kill black and brown people, and particularly black and brown young men.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! During Monday’s #DemandingWomen conversation, Sen. @KamalaHarris shared her thoughts on how Stand Your Ground laws are making American communities less safe, particularly for young Black and brown men. pic.twitter.com/xXugeiLEiF — Everytown (@Everytown) May 20, 2020 Additionally, as San Francisco’s district attorney in May 2007, Harris threatened: It’s people who own guns who are quietly sitting on those guns. And those guns might end up being the weapons of the destruction of a community cause they get in the hands of some kid who decide that they like what they see on television and they want to act that way. So this is about just basically saying that we’re gonna require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community and just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not gonna walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way that you conduct your affairs. “The remarks came during a press conference introducing legislation that Harris helped draft, which sought to impose penalties for gun owners who fail to store their firearms properly at home,” Fox News noted. During the presidential debate, Harris declared, “This business about taking everyone’s guns away. Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We’re not taking anybody’s guns away. So stop with the continuous lying about this stuff.” Harris previously advocated on multiple occasions during her failed 2020 presidential campaign for a “mandatory” gun buyback program of assault weapons. Examples can be found here, here, and here. The remarks from Harris sparked a variety of reactions online. “Kamala Harris advocated for door-to-door mandatory gun buyback programs,” said journalist Stephen L. Miller. “Maybe a journalist worth the professional reputation would follow up on that one.” The Trump campaign responded to Harris’ remarks: “Can Kamala describe the make and model of the gun she allegedly owns? And explain why she spent years advocating for door-to-door, mandatory gun confiscation? This is called pandering — and nobody is buying the bulls***.” Attorney and political commentator Laura Powell mocked Harris by highlighting her past support for law enforcement to enter people’s homes to inspect the way their firearms are stored. “Hey, Kamala, I’m sure you understand that we’re going to have to come into the sanctity of your locked home to check to see if you’re being responsible,” she wrote.

Kamala Outspent Trump 20 To 1 On Facebook, Instagram During Week Of Debate

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign flooded Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram with ads during the week of her debate against former President Donald Trump, outspending the Trump campaign 20 to 1 on the social media sites. The New York Times reported on Friday that the Harris campaign spent $12.2 million on Facebook and Instagram in the week surrounding the debate, while the Trump campaign spent $611,228, according to Meta’s records. The Democratic nominee’s big social media advertising spend focused on battleground states, especially Michigan and Pennsylvania, where the Harris campaign spent $1.5 million and $1.3 million, respectively, on Meta’s social media platforms. The Trump campaign, meanwhile, only spent $34,790 in Michigan and $22,465 in Pennsylvania on Facebook and Instagram over the same period, the Times reported. Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump’s team doesn’t need to spend as much as the Harris campaign on social media advertising because “millions of people want to organically watch and engage with President Trump — you can’t put a dollar value on that.” “The Harris campaign must spend an enormous amount on digital advertising, and we don’t because our campaign’s greatest asset is President Donald J. Trump,” Leavitt added. Playing into Harris’ spending on social media is her campaign’s large fundraising advantage over Team Trump. The Harris campaign has reported bringing in nearly $500 million for the 2024 election, while the Trump campaign has brought in $265 million. Democrats immediately saw a boost in fundraising after President Joe Biden stepped out of the race as many Democratic donors expressed concerns about Biden continuing his 2024 campaign. Harris also benefitted from transferring the Biden campaign’s cash on hand into her campaign’s war chest after the president dropped out in July. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! The Harris campaign has not spent any money on advertising on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform X, formerly Twitter, according to the Times. Musk endorsed Trump for president shortly after the July 13 assassination attempt on the Republican nominee. The Trump campaign has spent $100,000 on X since Harris became the Democrats’ de-facto nominee. Despite the Harris campaign spending big bucks on Facebook and Instagram last week, polls show that neither candidate saw a significant spike after the September 10 debate on ABC. Harris and Trump remain neck-and-neck in battleground states, according to polling averages from RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight. While Harris’ campaign focuses on spending money on digital advertising, the Republican nominee is sitting down for numerous interviews and continuing his rigorous campaign schedule. Harris has been criticized for her lack of solo interviews with the media as her opponent continues to take questions from reporters regularly.

James Cameron Says ‘Terminator’ Is ‘Cringe-Worthy’ Now But Future Sequels Will ‘Kick A**’

James Cameron Says ‘Terminator’ Is ‘Cringe-Worthy’ Now But Future Sequels Will ‘Kick A**’

Director James Cameron reflected on one of his first films, “The Terminator,” and how elements of it have not stood the test of time. The 70-year-old filmmaker called the action movie “pretty cringeworthy” on the 40th anniversary of its big premiere. “I don’t think of it as some Holy Grail, that’s for sure,” Cameron told Empire during a recent interview. “I look at it now and there are parts of it that are pretty cringeworthy, and parts of it that are like, ‘Yeah, we did pretty well for the resources we had available.’” ”Just the production value, you know? I don’t cringe on any of the dialogue, but I have a lower cringe factor than, apparently, a lot of people do around the dialogue that I write,” he continued. “You know what? Let me see your three-out-of-the-four-highest-grossing films — then we’ll talk about dialogue effectiveness.” “The Terminator” was a major hit when it debuted in 1984, grossing more than $78 million at the worldwide box office and cementing Arnold Schwarzenegger as a major movie star. The film also put Cameron on the map. “I was just a punk starting out when I directed ‘The Terminator.’ I think I was 29 at the time, and it was my first directing gig,” the Academy Award-winning filmmaker told the outlet. “‘Terminator’ was my first film, and it’s near and dear for that reason.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! There have been multiple “Terminator” spinoffs since then, and Cameron has alluded to the possibility of more in the future. But he said they won’t be the same. “This is the moment when you jettison everything that is specific to the last 40 years of Terminator, but you live by those principles,” Cameron told Empire. “You get too inside it, and then you lose a new audience because the new audience care much less about that stuff than you think they do. That’s the danger, obviously, with ‘Avatar’ as well, but I think we’ve proven that we have something for new audiences.” The filmmaker explained how that meant giving up on returning characters and starting fresh.  “You’ve got powerless main characters, essentially, fighting for their lives, who get no support from existing power structures, and have to circumvent them but somehow maintain a moral compass. And then you throw AI into the mix,” he went on.  “Those principles are sound principles for storytelling today, right? So I have no doubt that subsequent ‘Terminator’ films will not only be possible, but they’ll kick a**. But this is the moment where you jettison all the specific iconography.” This update comes after each subsequent “Terminator” franchise addition has done a little worse than the one before, with “Terminator: Dark Fate” grossing just $62 million in 2019.  Cameron alluded to more “Terminator” in the future. “It’s more than a plan,” he said. “That’s what we’re doing. That’s all I’ll say for right now.”
