Corsair just bagged the official Call of Duty PC gaming hardware deal

A new multi-year deal has been announced that will see Corsair become the main provider for Call of Duty-themed PC gaming hardware and peripherals, starting with Black Ops 6 this November. With the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release date just around the corner, this deal couldn't be timed any better. Corsair will take over from SteelSeries, which last year produced a small selection of Modern Warfare 3 gear, including an Arctis Nova Booster Pack, QcK mouse pad, and artisan keycap. How to establish a Frostpunk 2 colony

How do you start a Frostpunk 2 colony? Frostpunk is one of the best strategy games around, and the sequel takes everything up a notch, expanding the difficult, the world, and your interactions with your colonists. Due to the larger area, you can even explore nearby regions and start brand-new colonies as you find a way towards a new world. As you unlock the Frostland and gather more Frostland teams in the city-building game, you start to find more useful areas, whether they're just ripe for looting or a self-sufficient area in which to build a new city. It's not easy to heat Frostpunk 2 homes in multiple living areas, but it's worth it for a deeper experience, so here's how to start a new Frostpunk 2 colony. Some of the best Resident Evil games are 75% off, for a weird reason

When the Resident Evil 4 Remake came out last year, it enjoyed pretty much the same level of success as the original all those years ago. If you still haven’t had a chance to play it, it’s currently available at a 25% discount at Humble Bundle, and many of the other games in the series are up to 75% off - but the reason for the discount is kind of bizarre. XDefiant public test server canceled due to security risks

Rumors of the demise of XDefiant continue to prove at least somewhat exaggerated with the game happily trotting along to its next season, which is scheduled to kick off soon. Researcher reveals ‘catastrophic’ security flaw in the Arc browser

Illustration: Cath Virginia / The Verge A security researcher revealed a “catastrophic” vulnerability in the Arc browser that would have allowed attackers to insert arbitrary code into other users’ browser sessions with little than an easily findable user ID. The vulnerability was patched on August 26th and disclosed today in a blog post by security researcher xyz3va, as well as a statement from The Browser Company. The company says that its logs indicate no users were affected by the flaw. The exploit, CVE-2024-45489, relied on a misconfiguration in The Browser Company’s implementation of Firebase, a “database-as-a-backend service,” for storage of user info, including Arc Boosts, a feature that lets users customize the appearance of websites they visit. In its statement,... Continue reading…
