Whenever Apple launches a new iPhone, it never mentions two specs that smartphone buyers care about: RAM and battery capacity. The same goes for the iPhone 16 models that started selling in stores and shipping to buyers on Friday. Apple thinks those figures do not fully explain the massive optimization in software and hardware that give the iPhone great performance and great battery life. Apple is usually right, at least on the first part. iPhones usually outperform Android phones despite not featuring similar amounts of RAM. As for the battery life, the iPhone generally offers great battery life, especially on the larger models. But we've seen complaints over the years for the 6.1-inch variants. The RAM and battery capacities leak for every new iPhone generation, both before and after the launch event. The iPhone 16 is no different. What is different is that Apple has already confirmed that all iPhone 16 variants feature 8GB of RAM. That's the minimum requirement for running Apple Intelligence on the device.
