Kaz is a book lover who has a house cow. Here is a hint: it isn’t a real cow, but it is cow-sized and cow-colored. Appa, her poor, innocent, sleepy baby, is a very HUGE great Dane. Great Danes stand as tall as 32 inches at the shoulder on all four feet but tower over people when on their hind legs, “standing.” They are a great family dog, offering patience with children and friendliness to most people and animals. Great Danes are a very protective breed and alert home guardians. They will respond quickly and courageously if their family is under threat. Even older, mature Danes maintain some of their “puppiness” into old age. Their gangly movements suggest they have yet to figure out how those long legs work, but they can also be graceful.
