WATCH: Trump to Speak to Country After Second Attempt on His Life

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we deliver the quick news and analysis on the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump before we cover his remarks to the nation on X Spaces live. The corporate media’s coverage of the attempt on the former president’s life is not only as misleading and scornful as it was on the prior attempt two months ago, but could be considerably worse, given the victim-blaming coming from left-wing outlets, such as NBC News. Why are some so desperate to keep this event from being covered honestly? Rep. Jim Banks, R.-Ind., joins us to dive into the details. Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., leaves the House after a vote on Sept. 29, 2023. (Bill Clark/CQ-Roll Call/Getty Images) The polls continue to show Vice President Kamala Harris trailing in swing states following her debate with Trump. With early voting and absentee ballots starting to hit mailboxes in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, things could get interesting quickly. Finally, we examine the latest trends in immigration from the southern border to the great Midwest. Anyone up for cooked goose? And what’s the difference between a cat and a chicken on the grill? CLIMATE OF HATE: 12 Actors and Journalists Who Compared Trump to Hitler, Called for Violence, Before Second Assassination Attempt

Ahead of the second assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, many influential actors, journalists, and influencers warned that Trump is an “existential threat” to democracy, compared him to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, and suggested he or his supporters should face violent attacks. Some continued attacking Trump even after the first assassination attempt July 13. The New Tolerance Campaign, a nonprofit watchdog aimed at confronting “intolerance double standards” practiced by “establishment institutions, civil rights groups, universities, and socially conscious brands,” compiled a list of extreme rhetoric against Trump that may have contributed to the second assassination attempt. “New Tolerance Campaign research has shown two kinds of consistent and consistently charged rhetoric surrounding President Trump: insistence that his reelection would lead to the collapse of the country, and calls for the former president’s death,” Gregory T. Angelo, New Tolerance Campaign’s president, told The Daily Signal in a written statement Monday. (New Tolerance Campaign has taken to exposing extremism on the Left, to balance the impact of left-leaning groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center.) “These proclamations aren’t sarcastic; they’re literal, and they’re being spoken by high-profile politicians and members of the mainstream media with massive audiences,” Angelo added. “It’s shocking that there have been two attempts on President Trump’s life, but not surprising given the existential hyperbole about him pounding Americans’ ears day in and day out.” Other Violent Threats to Trump Both Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who authorities say shot Trump in the right ear July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, and Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, the man suspected of planning to assassinate the former president Sunday at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, got surprisingly close to the former president. However, New Tolerance Campaign identified five others who faced charges for threatening to harm or kill Trump. In January 2021, a judge sentenced 53-year-old Connecticut resident Gary Joseph Gravelle to nine years in prison after his conviction for sending a letter threatening to kill Trump in September 2018. In January 2022, police arrested and charged New York City resident Thomas Welnicki, 72, with calling the Secret Service and threatening to kill Trump. He proclaimed that he intended to “stand up to fascism” by assassinating the former president. In August, police arrested Arizona resident Ronald Lee Syvrud, 66, and charged him with threatening Trump’s life during the former president’s campaign trip to the Copper State. In July, police arrested and charged Florida resident Michael M. Wiseman, 68, with making written threats to kill Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, after the assassination attempt in Butler. Last month, police arrested and charged Illinois resident Justin Lee White, 36 with repeatedly threatening Trump, police, and Republicans with violence if the former president didn’t “play fair” during the election campaign. Where would Welnicki get the idea that standing up to “fascism” involves targeting Trump? The full list of left-leaning pundits, celebrities, and politicians who compared Trump to Hitler would be too long to compile. But New Tolerance Campaign highlighted many examples, and The Daily Signal has narrowed them down to the list below. None of the people in the list below responded to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment by publication time. 1. Shalom Auslander Most Americans may not have heard of novelist Shalom Auslander, 54, but in 2016 he penned an op-ed in The Washington Post claiming that comparing Trump to Hitler “belittles Hitler.” Auslander first claimed that Hitler had evil plans, while Trump is “just a con man,” but then the novelist suggested that Americans today are “like Hitler’s willing executioners.” “Will we look the other way, say we didn’t know, stand silently by while millions of our neighbors are rounded up, while women who get abortions are ‘punished,’ while immigrants are given ‘ideology tests’ and our leader heaps praise on oppressive tyrants?” he wrote. The writer didn’t suggest that Trump would round up Jews and send them to concentration camps, but he did suggest Trump would “round up” Americans’ “neighbors” in a similarly ominous way. 2. Linda Ronstadt Rock and country singer Linda Ronstadt, then 73, explicitly compared Trump to Hitler in July 2019. Ronstadt, who is of Mexican descent, recalled that when Trump first announced his candidacy for president, she predicted, “It’s going to be like Hitler, and the Mexicans are the new Jews.” “And sure enough, that’s what he delivered,” she said. “It’s exactly the same.” 3. Joe Scarborough Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” repeated the line that Trump posed an existential threat to America’s representative form of government. Scarborough said last November that Trump “is running to end American democracy as we know it.” “He will imprison, he will execute whoever he is allowed to imprison, execute, drive from the country,” the MSNBC host said of Trump, whom he called an “authoritarian.” ‘Morning Joe’ Scarborough goes on UNHINGED Anti-Trump RANT: “He will imprison, he will execute whoever he is allowed to imprison, execute, drive from the country. Just look at his past. It’s not really hard to read” pic.twitter.com/wPgRKTnPEi— Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) November 21, 2023 4. Robert Kagan Also last November, political scientist Robert Kagan argued in The Washington Post that if Trump wins the 2024 presidential election the odds are “pretty good” that his presidency will “turn into a dictatorship.” Kagan warned that the “Trump administration will have many avenues to persecute its enemies, real and perceived.” He suggested that, if elected again, Trump would prevent free and fair elections in 2026. 5. Rachel Maddow MSNBC host Rachel Maddow compared Trump to both Hitler and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Last December, Maddow said Trump “keeps saying the kinds of things, the exact kind of things, that Hitler and Mussolini said.” “There’s a reason Hitler and Mussolini said this stuff, too. It worked then, it works now,” she added. “It has worked abroad all over the world and yes, it has worked here, too. More than we like to remember.” 6. Will Stancil Will Stancil, then a candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 61A, posted a suspicious question on the social media site X. “So is there any reason [Joe] Biden couldn’t just drone strike Trump and end this,” Stancil, who currently has more than 89,000 followers, wrote in January. He then deleted the post. Hi @whstancil! Why did you delete this? pic.twitter.com/3xZmxIE2j6— Jack Poso ?? (@JackPosobiec) July 14, 2024 This post arguably fits with an extremely negative view of those whom Stancil considers Trump’s supporters. Stancil’s campaign platform stated that the candidate is “committed to listening to voices across the political spectrum—with a key exception.” “For over a century, far-right extremists have not been motivated by sincere ideological belief but an inner desire to commit violence, dominate the weak, bully the unpopular, and mock the unusual,” his platform read. “Their policy commitments are typically insincere or even nonexistent; their motive force is the pleasure they take in causing pain.” 7. Keith Olbermann In March, Trump said that the “hostile press” treats him worse than Abraham Lincoln. The Biden-Harris reelection campaign posted Trump’s clip, noting: “Trump says he has been treated worse than Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated.” Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann reposted the Biden-Harris campaign video, saying, “There’s always the hope.” Olbermann deleted the tweet and clarified that he hoped Trump gets treated badly, although his original post could be interpreted to mean that he hoped Trump got assassinated. “I’m hoping Trump’s right, that he IS treated worse than Lincoln,” Olbermann said. “As I’ve said for 9 years: THAT HE’S CONVICTED, THEN DIES IN PRISON.” 8. Robert DeNiro In May, actor Robert De Niro echoed Lincoln’s Gettysburg address by warning that “under Trump,” America’s current “kind of government will perish from the Earth.” “If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted,” the actor declared in a speech outside the building where Trump’s controversial trial for falsifying business records was taking place. “And elections, forget about it. That’s over,” De Niro told reporters. “That’s done. If he gets in, I can tell. you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave. You know that.” ? Jacqueline Marshaw A former congressional aide for Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., posted on Facebook that a potential Trump assassin should try not to miss “next time.” “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking,” Jacqueline Marshaw wrote in the post. Thompson said he fired Marshaw. His office didn’t respond to The Daily Signal’s request to connect with Marshaw for comment after the second assassination attempt. Randi Weingarten At the opening of the American Federation of Teachers convention in mid-July, AFT President Randi Weingarten condemned Trump as an “existential threat to democracy.” Weingarten, head of the nation’s second-largest teachers union, spoke more than a week after the assassination attempt on the former president in Pennsylvania. Billie Joe Armstrong Billie Joe Armstrong, the 52-year-old lead singer of the rock band Green Day, lifted a Trump mask that many critics described as a “decapitated head” during a concert in Washington, D.C. Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnell Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, a 35-year-old influencer who goes by the name “Destiny” and gained a large audience by livestreaming video games on YouTube, said he did not have “much sympathy” for Trump supporters after the first assassination attempt. “I don’t think I have much sympathy about the attempt enough to chastise people celebrating it,” he said. Bonnell stood by this statement after English journalist Piers Morgan pressed him on it. In a livestream video, Bonnell also stated: “I’m ready for the f**king great cleansing” when “we genocide conservatives in this country.” Destiny: "I'm ready for the f**king great cleansing. when we genocide conservatives in this country.”Destiny just threatened to shoot Conservatives. pic.twitter.com/DNaTwcUgkv— aka (@akafacehots) July 18, 2024 The post CLIMATE OF HATE: 12 Actors and Journalists Who Compared Trump to Hitler, Called for Violence, Before Second Assassination Attempt appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Harris Donor’s TIME Magazine Hides Inconvenient Fact After 2nd Apparent Trump Assassination Attempt

Time magazine came under fire after claiming on social media that the man behind an apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump had an “unclear political ideology,” leaving many in the dark about the apparent violence targeting Trump.  Time concealed Ryan Routh’s political leanings, writing Monday on X, “The suspect arrested in relation to the shooting at Trump’s golf course in Florida on Sunday has been identified as Ryan Routh—a 58-year-old with unclear political ideology, a criminal record, and a history of praising Iran and supporting Ukraine.”  The baffling tweet neglects to highlight the fact that Routh voted in a 2024 Democratic primary and has a recent history of donations to ActBlue—facts that Time itself admitted deep within the article the post links to. But why did Time make no mention of these crucially important details? Is it because such assertions might tie the left to a violent act? Time is owned by Marc Benioff, the CEO of software company Salesforce and one of Vice President Kamala Harris’s biggest supporters. Benioff, by Time’s own admissions, donated to Harris’s 2019 failed Democratic presidential bid.  Previously, Benioff had also donated to the “Kamala Harris Victory Fund,” while making two donations to Harris’s Senate campaign. In total, Beinoff has given at least $18,100 to support the current Democratic nominee in her earlier campaigns according to the Federal Elections Commission. Recently, Time magazine had to issue a correction after incorrectly fact-checking a Trump statement about Harris’s documented support for taxpayer-funded gender transitions for detained illegal aliens. In their Monday article, Time took until the 13th paragraph to admit that Routh voted in the March Democracy primary of North Carolina in 2024. In the 14th paragraph Time admitted that Routh had donated ActBlue, “the Democratic fundraising platform, between September 2019 and March 2020.”  According to MRC Vice President for Research and Publications Brent Baker, there are significant consequences to placing facts later in a story. In his 1994 book How to Identify, Expose, & Correct Liberal Media Bias, Baker wrote, “[M]ost people ready only the headline. Some read just the first paragraph, some just the first two paragraphs and some read just to the bottom of the column and don’t bother to read the continuation. Very few people read the average story all the way through to the end.”  But Time didn’t just show possible "bias by placement" by burying these facts in the 13th and 14th paragraphs. Time set social media users who didn’t finish the article up to believe that Routh had an “unclear political ideology.” Imagine how many X users read the post without even clicking. On the other hand, Time took a beating on social media for the post. The Daily Wire host Matt Walsh, Libs of TikTok creator Chaya Raichik and The Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon sarcastically lambasted Time for playing dumb about whether or not a man arrested for allegedly trying to kill Trump supports Trump or Harris. Others alleged that Routh literally had a Biden-Harris sticker on his truck.  Former collegiate swimmer-turned-women's rights advocate Riley Gaines also called out Time for using the words “unclear political ideology,” writing: “He's donated to ActBlue 19 times, has a Biden/Harris sticker on his truck, & vehemently hates Trump. His political ideology couldn't be more clear.” Conservatives are under attack. Contact Time at (letters@time.com)and The New Yorker at (800) 444-7570 and demand the publication stop coddling Vice President Kamala Harris.

IRONY ALERT: Jim Acosta Denounces Division After 2nd Trump Assassination Attempt

IRONY ALERT: Jim Acosta Denounces Division After 2nd Trump Assassination Attempt

Weekday morning CNN Newsroom host and former White House Briefing Room provocateur Jim Acosta displayed quite the gall Monday by reacting to the second Trump assassination with disgust for the “super-heated” political “rhetoric in this country”, blasting the right for “saying people on the left” wished the shooter got a chance to follow through on his plot, and arguing someone’s a patriot if they “bring us together as a country”. Seriously. This is the guy who wants to lecture the country about how we shouldn’t see each other as enemies.     The pomposity was thick from the first comment to CNN Republican commentator Shermichael Singleton: “[T]he rhetoric in this country right now...[i]t’s so ramped up right now. It’s so super-heated that you just worry what might happen between now and Election Day.” Singleton’s answers were perfectly fine and spoke to simpler time in politics, but nonetheless worth hearing. That said, they made no sense when the man sitting across from him was perhaps the most divisive and self-aggrandizing journalist during the Trump presidency. To Acosta’s first lament, Singleton pointed out that “a lot of people, Jim, are discontent” with feelings of “political disillusionment” and even “purposelessness” having set in and coupled with the belief that the other party is “a threat to my existence or way of life” Acosta continued to ignore the proverbial warning signs he was registering tsunami warning levels of irony as he observed a Trump campaign e-mail shortly after the incident went public had “no amping up of the rhetoric”. A few minutes later, Acosta went to the predictable spot of poo-pooing “some of these reactions” by “folks on the right saying people on the left — saying Democrats wanted” Trump to be assassinated. Instead of wondering why they’ve been saying that or, dare we say, look in the mirror at himself and his network, Acosta huffed: “Nobody wants this to happen. Nobody wants this to happen. No one!” Singleton didn’t make the deeper point about why that sentiment exists and instead harkened back to his first answer about how dangerous it is for both sides to view the other as an “existential threat to their existence and when you view individuals through that lens, it does not surprise me that we find ourselves in this particular moment in time.” Acosta’s final comment was his definition of “patriotism”: [P]atriotism to me is all about wanting us as Americans to come together, right? Not going after one another. To me, that’s — that’s pat — that’s patriotism. That’s — that’s making America great — is — is somebody who wants to bring us together as a country. Political forces that want to bring us together as a country. This led into Singleton stating the fact that America “will be no more or no less than what we make it” before arguing we’ve “become a bit arrogant what negatively can happen in our country that we have seen in other countries” as said things have and warned that we’ll need unity to avoid “dictatorships and totalitarian states and fascism, etc. Singleton concluded by wondering about foreign interference and, while it’s a real issue, it obviously piqued Acosta’s interest (since he spent years shouting about Russia being around every possible corner) (click “expand”): SINGLETON: What comes next to the future of this country and think about this Jim, our adversaries are looking at this moment of internal chaos — ACOSTA: That’s right. That’s a very good point. SINGLETON: — within the country, and they’re trying to figure out how can we push the needle a bit forward? ACOSTA: How can we exploit this? SINGLETON: Absolutely. ACOSTA: And you have to think that there are forces out there who want to continue to gin up — SINGLETON: It’s in their interest. ACOSTA: — this division and hatred because it works to their benefit. SINGLETON: China, Russia, Iran, who knows whoever else is out there attempting this. ACOSTA: Excellent point. That’s why we always enjoy having you on, Shermichael. Trump 'will NEVER SURRENDER' after SECOND assassination attempt by 'Ukraine fanatic'

Donald Trump can’t catch a break, as the former president just faced a second assassination attempt — and thankfully survived again. The attempted assassination occurred at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, and was thwarted when Secret Service agents opened fire at the gunman. The gunman was then identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who is a “Ukraine fanatic” and “Trump hater.” Routh’s social media accounts reportedly were filled with posts about recruiting soldiers to fight in Ukraine. In a statement from Trump, he wrote: “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.” Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” can’t help but commend Trump’s strength throughout the past few months. “Imagine the mental state that Donald Trump is in right now. He’s two months off having part of his ear blown off, and someone being killed at his rally, OK? The endless constant rhetoric, the backdrop of the trials, and them trying to remove him from the ballot, and there’s still an indictment pending where they could try to send him to jail,” Rubin says. “And he is still out there. The guy barely takes a day off,” he adds. Trump released a second statement on Truth Social, where he thanked the Secret Service and Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, “his Office of brave and dedicated patriots,” and “all of Law Enforcement.” “THE JOB DONE WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. I AM VERY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!” Trump concluded. Ohio woman who allegedly stabbed 3-year-old to death at grocery store found incompetent to stand trial

A woman arrested after a 3-year-old was stabbed to death in front of his mother at a grocery store has been found incompetent to stand trial. Police said that video from a shopping center showed 32-year-old Bionca Ellis of Cleveland stalking a mother and her toddler son inside of the Giant Eagle grocery store in North Olmstead in June. After following them into the parking lot, Ellis allegedly began stabbing the child and the mother in what police called a completely random attack. 'Bionca has been on several medications that did not work out for her.' Ellis was indicted in June on a slew of charges, including aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, and endangering children. During a 20-day evaluation, a doctor determined that Ellis was incompetent to stand trial, according to documents from the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. The doctor said that she had "a substantial probability of restoration to competency within the statutory time frame if provided with a course of treatment." Ellis will undergo treatment at North Coast Behavioral Health for a statutory time of one year before being placed back into the custody of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. She could face trial if she is restored to competency through treatment. Officials were criticized for failures to treat Ellis' alleged mental illness just days before the lethal attack. A judge had ordered Ellis to receive a psychiatric evaluation after she was accused of violating probation in relation to stolen merchandise from a Walmart last year. "I'm not sure she fully understands the simple requirements the court has imposed on her," said Magistrate Gregory Sponseller of the Rocky River Municipal Court in June. However, Ellis was released because a mental health professional was unavailable at the time. Days later, Ellis allegedly stabbed the toddler to death. The suspect had many other brushes with law enforcement in other states, and her mother has said that the system failed her daughter."Bionca has been on several medications that did not work out for her. The hallucinations and the voices just got the best of her," said Yolanda Eggleton. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Don’t let the left memory-hole the attempts on Trump’s life

Don’t let the left memory-hole the attempts on Trump’s life

Google searches and social media posts related to Ryan Wesley Routh, the man allegedly behind a second attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life, skyrocketed on Sunday night. Meanwhile, searches for Thomas Matthews Crooks, the first would-be assassin about whom little is known, remained flat. That’s just how today’s fast-paced news cycle works, some might say. Those same people would likely applaud the ABC presidential debate moderators who wanted to talk about anything but the events of July 13. But the corporate left-wing media and Democrats’ obvious desire to move on from the deadly shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, serves a dual purpose: to deny the impact of their heated rhetoric about Trump and to make Trump supporters look like conspiracy-crazed lunatics when they question any part of the official narrative. Welcome to the Twilight Zone. A second attempt on Trump’s life once seemed impossible, but now that it’s happened, a third feels inevitable. This is a direct result of the left’s rhetoric. The American people deserve transparency from all levels of law enforcement, including those investigating the Butler shooting. We still lack a clear understanding of Crooks' political views at the time of the assassination attempt. The FBI's decision to allow Crooks' body to be cremated just days after the shooting raises more questions. This confusion ultimately benefits the left. As Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee told Fox News on Sunday, it’s no surprise that many Americans suspect a conspiracy when a gunman knew Trump's tee time. “We’ll never know the true story. … Washington, D.C., does not turn loose of its secrets very easily, and the American public are right to question this,” Burchett said. The left quickly generated its own conspiracy theories after July 13. Many social media users, including MSNBC host Joy Reid, falsely claimed that the Trump campaign staged the assassination attempt for publicity. Others argue that Crooks' registration as a Republican, despite his donation to a liberal group, proves he was immune to any liberal rhetoric that might have influenced his violent behavior. Authorities can either fuel paranoia or ease it with smart decisions. After the news broke about the possible assassination plot, public figures like Blackwater founder Erik Prince urged Florida state authorities to take charge of the investigation rather than allow the FBI to suppress information. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Monday that the state will conduct its own investigation. While DeSantis is on the right track, it remains uncertain how effective the state investigation will be with the federal investigation running alongside it. The Facebook account believed to belong to Routh is no longer accessible — possibly due to action by Meta at the federal government’s request. Fortunately, many X users had already captured screenshots of his posts. These posts included advice to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris about their campaigns. They also showed that Routh saw himself as a Ukrainian freedom fighter after the 2022 Russian invasion and may even have recruited others to join the Ukrainian side. Republican members of Congress should heed whistleblower Edward Snowden’s advice to press intelligence agencies for answers about any interactions with Routh, who might have been on their radar because of his activities. A second attempt on Trump’s life once seemed impossible, but now that it’s happened, a third feels inevitable. This is a direct result of the left’s rhetoric. Progressives often claim that speech is violence, but they only apply that rule when Republicans say something they dislike. Democrats may finally tone down their vitriol toward Trump and his supporters after this second close call. It’s more likely, however, that they will continue their Nazi name-calling, making Crooks and Routh just the beginning. Americans have just witnessed one of the most dramatic events of the 21st century — the wounding of a presidential candidate at a public rally. Yet half the country seems eager to joke about its disappointment that the shooter missed. Republicans must resist the urge to become the party of crazed conspiracy theorists. But they also must not let the events in Butler be forgotten. Don’t let the memory of July 13 fade. Keep asking what is being hidden about Thomas Matthew Crooks.

FBI had prior tip on would-be Trump assassin; acting Secret Service director ignores Blaze News' question

The FBI revealed on Monday the man who is accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump while he was on his golf course on Sunday was previously reported to the agency on the suspicion he was in possession of a firearm despite being a felon. Jeffrey Veltri, the FBI's special agent in charge of the Miami Field Office, said the FBI received a complaint in 2019 that Ryan Routh had a firearm. "When following up on the tip, the alleged complainant was interviewed and did not verify, I repeat, did not verify providing the initial information. The FBI passed that information on to local law enforcement in Honolulu," said Veltri. Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe emphatically defended the security plans his agency has put in place following the first assassination attempt in July, saying the layers of security agents provide worked as intended. 'The staffer who was accompanying Rowe grabbed onto the handle of my backpack in an apparent effort to slow me down from following Rowe.' "Immediately following the assassination attempt of [Trump] on July 13, the Secret Service moved to increase assets to an already enhanced security posture. ... In the days that followed, Biden made it clear that he wanted the highest levels of protection for former President Trump and for Vice President Harris," Rowe said. "The protective methodologies of the Secret Service were effective yesterday." Rowe said Routh did not have Trump in his line of sight and did not get a shot off at the former president. Veltri said it is too early in the investigation to say when Routh arrived in the West Palm Beach area and whether he worked alone or had help. After the press conference, Blaze News asked Rowe how many assassination attempts Trump has to go through before drastic changes at the Secret Service are made. Rowe did not answer the question. The staffer who was accompanying Rowe grabbed onto the handle of the Blaze News reporter's backpack in an apparent effort to slow him down and prevent him from following Rowe. After Blaze News confronted the staffer, he let the reporter's backpack go and said he was just trying to get by, which he could have done without grabbing the bag as there was enough space to walk by.After the staffer went past the Blaze News reporter, he attempted to block the reporter from reaching Rowe again, who was several steps ahead, but because the walkway was wide enough, as previously mentioned, Blaze News was able to ask Rowe the question again, to no response.
