Kamala Harris Claims She Won’t Take Guns, But Signals She Wants A Ban

Vice President Kamala Harris claimed during an interview that aired on Friday that she would not confiscate people’s firearms, but she would ban so-called “assault weapons,” which are nothing more than semi-automatic long guns. Harris made the remarks during an interview with 6abc Action News when the interviewer brought up Harris’ claim during the debate earlier this week that she owned a firearm. “Where do you draw the line in America on gun ownership and gun use?” the interviewer asked. “I am a gun owner,” she claimed. “And Tim Walz, my running mate, is also a gun owner. We’re not taking anybody’s guns away. I support the Second Amendment and I support reasonable gun safety laws. Part of my approach to this is, I was a career prosecutor for most of my career. I have personally prosecuted homicide cases. I have personally looked at autopsies. I have personally seen what assault weapons do to the human body.” “And so I feel very strongly that it is consistent with the Second Amendment and your right to own a gun to also say we need an assault weapons ban,” she continued. “They’re literally tools of war. They were literally designed to kill a lot of human beings quickly.” Harris’ claim that so-called “assault weapons” are “literally tools of war” is false. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! The weapons that she is referring to are the civilian versions of weapons that militaries and law enforcement agencies use. They do not have the ability to burst fire, which is typically 3 rounds per each pull of the trigger, nor do they have the ability to fire full-auto, which allows the weapon to repeatedly fire until it runs out of ammunition with a single pull of the trigger as long as the operator does not release the trigger. “I say we need universal background checks,” she claimed, even though people already have to undergo a background check to purchase a firearm from an FFL. “The majority of NRA members support that. Why? Because it’s just reasonable. You just might want to know before someone can buy a lethal weapon if they’ve been found by a court to be a danger to themselves or others. You just might want to know.” WATCH: WATCH: Kamala Harris claims that she doesn’t want to take anyone’s guns, she just wants to ban them. Sweden’s Right-Wing Government Offers To Pay Migrants To Go Home

Sweden’s Right-Wing Government Offers To Pay Migrants To Go Home

Sweden’s right-wing government said this week that it will drastically increase grants to incentivize migrants to leave the country and go home after citizens have revolted to the flood of migrants. The once migrant-friendly nation is upping its offer by 35 times to more than $34,000 to those who leave the country, AFP reported. The country has been flooded with migrants over the last 30 years from third-world countries, especially Islamic countries, including Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran, and Iraq. New Swedish Migration Minister Johan Forssell told reporters this week that the country was “in the midst of a paradigm shift in our migration policy.” Liberals whined in a government inquiry that sending the message that migrants were not longer wanted in the country would hinder their ability to assimilate into Swedish society. The reason that the political Right in the country wants to send them home is because they are not assimilating to the culture and they drain welfare resources that are intended for the country’s citizens. Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! The new policy was announced just two days after Forssell, a moderate, was reassigned from minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, where he gutted the country’s foreign aid budget, to be its new migration minister, The New York Times reported. When Conservative Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson came into office two years ago, he promised to do something about the country’s immigration problem and its exploding gang problem, which was caused by the migrants. The rightward shift on immigration follows a larger trend across the continent as people embrace hardline stances on immigration as they become increasing angry seeing their societies deteriorate because of migrants.

Former Council Of Economic Advisers Chief Rips Harris’ Attack On Trump’s Economy

Kevin Hassett, a former senior adviser to former President Donald Trump and chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, ripped Vice President Kamala Harris for the remarks that she made during this week’s presidential debate where she rewrote history about the U.S. economy’s recovery under Trump. Hassett made the remarks during an interview that aired Friday on PBS’ “Firing Line” with Margaret Hoover when asked about Harris’ claim that the Biden-Harris administration had to clean up the economy after Trump’s presidency. “In the first quarter of President Biden’s first term, for the Biden-Harris first term, then GDP growth was about 6.5% and inflation was about 1%,” he said. “And so the pandemic was just like an awful experience for everybody, of course. And we had the worst quarter that we’ve had since the Great Depression. And through really bipartisan legislation, it passed with unanimous support of Democrats, Republicans and Democrats worked together to repair the economy with a sequence of stimulus bills that were right sized.” “And so even though we had the biggest decline in GDP since the Great Depression of the second quarter for the year, the GDP was basically just about flat,” he continued. “And then what happened is that because of the recovery, the economy was really taking off in the first quarter. I don’t think any economists would say that they inherited a disaster. In fact, they inherited a recovery that was raging.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! He said that the U.S.’ recovery was largely driven by the actions taken by both Democrats and Republicans in 2020, when Trump was still president, who passed bills that were “sized almost exactly for the harm that was being done by the lockdowns.” “The problem was that the first quarter ended up being 6% growth,” he said. “There weren’t any lockdowns. And then they continued another stimulus bill, and that’s where the inflation really started.” WATCH:

Brazil Supreme Court Seizes $3M From Starlink in Retaliation Over X’s Refusal To Censor Speech

Brazil Supreme Court Seizes $3M From Starlink in Retaliation Over X’s Refusal To Censor Speech

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The Brazilian Supreme Court has confiscated $3 million from Elon Musk’s company, Starlink, following a judge’s edict for the “immediate suspension” of the X social media app in Brazil. This punitive measure is in response to the app’s failure to settle fines tied to its neglect of Brazil’s censorship demands, including the lack of a designated legal representation within the nation as mandated by Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Moraes is punishing Starlink for the actions of X, a totally separate company. The conflict between Moraes and Musk has escalated after the uppermost court in Brazil insisted on the disabling of certain X accounts, a demand largely viewed to target supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro. In defiance of this, the offices of X were shuttered in Brazil instead of complying with the court’s directives. This led Moraes to impose the full and complete halt of X’s operations in the country until the company adheres to the court’s commands. The directives comprise a fine of 18.5 million reais ($3.2 million) and the appointment of a duly authorized legal representative within Brazil’s territory. Following Moraes’ instructions, telecom regulator Anatel was tasked to enforce the suspension and to report its compliance within a day’s notice. To “ensure the settlement of fines,” Moraes authorized the impounding of Starlink’s local funds. Starlink expressed its disapproval in a statement at the time on X, “Earlier this week we received an order from Brazil’s Supreme Court Justice @alexandre de Moraes that freezes Starlink’s finances and prevents Starlink from conducting financial transactions in that country,” the statement read. The company also criticized Moraes for determining, without substantial basis, that Starlink should bear responsibility for the penalties imposed on X, in a process the company refers to as lacking transparency and devoid of due process. Exciting developments: Moraes and Musk continue their battle, as the highest court in Brazil demands the deactivation of particular X accounts. Moraes has rationalized that Starlink could carry the liability for X’s fines due to their affiliation under the same “de facto economic group.” The justice has since lifted the freezing of bank accounts, following the full remittance of the monies owed. Recent statements from the court reveal that more than 7.2 million Brazilian reais ($1.29 million) were transferred from an X bank account, and close to 11 million Brazilian reais ($1,95 million) were seized from Starlink. These accounts were released after the payments needed had been made. Brazil’s highest court conveyed that the telecoms companies’ assets are now at their disposal. Megalopolis could have let audiences ask Adam Driver questions during showings

Adam Driver in a Megalopolis trailer. | Screenshot: YouTube Francis Ford Coppola wanted voice recognition software to let audience members ask Adam Driver’s Cesar character a question during theatrical showings of Megalopolis, according to a Telegraph interview with the director. Then, the software would trigger the theater’s projector to play a clip of “the most relevant response” from Driver. Apparently, it was actually in the works. Amazon had agreed to make a “custom version of its Alexa voice-recognition software” to do this, but the team working on it was laid off during a huge round of layoffs in 2022, writes The Telegraph. Alas. “Imagine!” Coppola beams. “You could see Megalopolis five times in its opening week and it would be different each time! It would have been the future of the... Continue reading…

The Home Depot has agreed to pay roughly $2 million to settle a civil complaint, which California district attorneys allege stems from pricing items differently at the checkout scanner than at the shelves.
