As covered by The Daily Wire, Springfield, Ohio, has seen a massive influx of Haitian migrants since 2020, wreaking havoc on public services and causing a myriad of social problems. But Springfield is not the only town struggling with a sudden influx of Haitian migrants. Charleroi, a small town in Pennsylvania, has seen a 2000% increase in its immigration population in the past two years, with the majority coming from Haiti. The small town had a population of about 4,200 in 2022, before the sudden influx. Charleroi’s population has since doubled, according to Charleroi Council President Kristin Hopkins-Calcek. Residents are noticing similar problems as Springfield citizens. For one, driving in the area has become increasingly hazardous. “The immigrants now have been issued driver’s licenses but do not know how to read the traffic signs, causing numerous traffic accidents in the borough,” one long-time resident told The Daily Wire. “And I stress numerous, just about every week you hear about another causing injury or property damage.” “Cars are going the wrong way and there are wrecks at least once a week,” another resident said during a City Council meeting, The Mon Valley Independent reported this week. “Three very bad accidents in less than one month. In Pennsylvania, immigrants with Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, are eligible to apply for a driver’s licenses. “We need to reach out to our legislature to make changes on the driving privileges of drivers brought to this area from other countries,” she said. “It does not appear that any additional training or licensing is done before they’re given the privilege of driving a car. Something terrible is going to happen.” Similar to Springfield, schools in the Charleroi area are over capacity and struggling to pay for resources and teachers who can teach English as a second language. “The Charleroi School District is overwhelmed trying to teach and communicate with all the new students, with most not knowing how to speak English and taking away learning time from the rest of the kids,” the resident told The Daily Wire. According to a CBS report from March, the district had to hire additional ELL (English language learners) teachers, an ELL coach for the teachers, and an interpreter, which cost more than $400,000. An additional $300,000 was projected to be spent for the 2025 school year. The town is also struggling to beef up law enforcement, due to both the sudden rise in immigrant population and an issue with police retention. Charleroi has had to increase its police budget by $73,000, compared to last year, according to a report from The Mon Valley Independent published Thursday. Residents are worried the increase will spark higher taxes, despite assurances from the council that there won’t be a larger-than-expected tax increase next year. “We want to keep the public safe. We are having issues we have never had before,” Council President Kristin Hopkins-Calcek said. “Our population has doubled and we have our police enforcing everything that citizens have demanded over time that they enforce.” As highlighted by The Daily Wire, the Biden-Harris administration this past June expanded temporary legal status to 300,000 Haitians, lasting until at least February 2026. This allows these migrants to remain and work in the U.S. until then, and possibly beyond. This was awarded to any Haitian in the U.S. who was here before or on June 3. Biden also has a program that allows 30,000 migrants per month from Haiti, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly directly into the U.S. for two years if they have financial sponsors. New York Police Department Commissioner Edward Caban resigned from his position on Thursday as the head of the world’s largest police department after his phone was seized by federal agents in a criminal investigation eight days ago. “My complete focus has always been on the NYPD – the department and people I love and have dedicated over 30 years of service to,” Caban said in a statement. “However, the news around recent developments has created a distraction for our department, and I am unwilling to let my attention be on anything other than our important work, or the safety of the men and women of the NYPD.” The investigation, at least in part, centers around a nightclub security business that is owned by Caban’s twin brother, James Caban, and whether he used his brother to “fix potential problems for clubs and bars,” The Washington Post reported. The probe is reportedly focusing on other police officials as well. The criminal investigation is being conducted by the Southern District of New York, which focuses on government corruption cases, and the IRS. Am I Racist? NYC Democratic Mayor Eric Adams, who is under criminal investigation over potential corruption stemming from actions involving the Turkish government, has seen numerous people in his orbit come under criminal investigation recently. The FBI executed search warrants last week at the home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks and a home shared by First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Schools Chancellor David Banks. Investigators seized phones belonging to Caban and Timothy Pearson, a senior adviser to the mayor. A consultant, Terence Banks, brother of Philip Banks and David Banks, was also searched. The feds raided the home of Adams’ director of Asian Affairs, Winnie Greco, earlier this year as part of a criminal probe run by the Eastern District of New York, the Times said. His former buildings commissioner, Eric Ulrich, faces bribery charges, and several donors to Adams’ campaign have been charged in a straw-donor scheme. Adams named former FBI agent and former New York Homeland Security Director Tom Donlon as interim commissioner. “My goals are clear: continue the historic progress decreasing crime and removing illegal guns from our communities, uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency, and support our dedicated officers who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe,” Donlon said in a statement.

One of the many lies you’ll often hear about multiculturalism is that it’s an ideology of tolerance. We’re a melting pot. Diversity is our strength. We’re stronger together. And so on. No one really believes any of that, least of all the proponents of multiculturalism. In reality, as Thomas Sowell has pointed out, multiculturalism is an ideology that tolerates every culture except one, which is Western culture. When it comes to Western culture, no level of hatred or self-loathing is beyond the pale. Anyone who belongs to this disfavored culture must apologize repeatedly for his own existence. He must grovel at every opportunity on account of his skin color and ethnicity. And ultimately he must turn on his own family, and sacrifice them at the altar of multiculturalism. That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday, at a city commission meeting in the town of Springfield, Ohio. In the past few days, Springfield has found itself in the center of a national political firestorm after several residents reported that animals are being sacrificed, and in some cases eaten, by the tens of thousands of Haitian nationals that have flooded into town in the past four years. And despite what ABC News says, there is clear merit to these claims. The Daily Wire is on the ground in Springfield, where we’ve found evidence that the heads and carcasses of slaughtered pigs are being left out in public. As disturbing as this is, all of the talk about animals obscures a more important point, which is that human beings are being killed as well. One of them, as I mentioned earlier this week, was an 11-year-old boy named Aiden Clark. He was killed — and more than a dozen other students were seriously injured — last year by a Haitian national who crossed the center line and crashed into a school bus on the first day of school. This Haitian national was on the roads illegally. His driver’s license was from Mexico. It’s the greatest pain a human being can experience. That’s why, as a father, I almost never criticize people who have gone through something like that. I don’t criticize them for how they grieve. I don’t criticize them for what they say in the aftermath. It’s a horror so unthinkable that there just is no way to know how a person will react. But after these remarks, unfortunately, I feel compelled to say something because, for one thing, the man is slandering people — people like myself — who have spoken up for his son. He is attributing false motives to us. He’s labeling us racists and “hateful” and so on. He’s also claiming that no one — including politicians — has the right to even mention his son’s name. None of this is true. And we have a right to correct the record, especially since this man is now using his son’s death to make a political statement. It’s a false statement. It’s a harmful statement. So we need to speak up because this is a matter of national importance. I’m going to repeat what the father of Aiden Clark said. “I wish that my son, Aiden Clark, was killed by a 60-year-old white man.” That was the line he wrote down, prepared, and then delivered. He didn’t say that he wished his son was never killed, Instead, he said that he wished someone else had killed his son, so that other people wouldn’t draw any unapproved conclusions. His comments only go to show that white guilt is a sickness — an infection that has burrowed deep inside this man’s mind and soul. So deep that even the death of a child did not shake him free of it. I cannot comprehend how a thought like this even enters your head. A man kills your child and your wish is that a man of a different race had killed him? How does that thought occur to you? I would expect that you’d wish that a Haitian immigrant hadn’t killed your son because you wish nobody had. But to wish that someone else had killed him is incomprehensibly deranged. His implication, if you want to be as charitable as possible, is that the tens of thousands of Haitians who have moved into Springfield are safe drivers. They’re just as safe as the American citizens who have been living there for generations, supposedly. But everyone living in Springfield knows that’s not true. The journalist Taylor Hansen is in Springfield. He just reported, “Every resident I’ve talked to is scared of driving, and they are dealing with increased insurance rates due to unlicensed and uninsured Haitian drivers causing multiple accidents on a daily basis. There’s no punishment taking place for Haitians driving without insurance, but if an American citizen does it they can have their license suspended.” Hansen also put together a compilation of some of the car crashes he’s seen involving Haitians in Springfield. It’s all predictable. When you increase the size of a town by one-third — and all of the new arrivals are from a dysfunctional hellhole like Haiti — you’re going to get a lot of bad drivers who don’t obey the rules of the road. That’s common sense. And some of those bad drivers are going to kill children on their way to school. It’s understandable that Aiden Clark’s father is angry. But his anger is directed at the only people who have expressed any concern over his son’s death. He attacks the only people who actually care that his son is dead. It seems to me that, after suffering such a tragedy, most of your anger would be reserved for the man who actually killed your son. The rest of the anger should be directed at the politicians who let that guy into the country. If he hadn’t been allowed in, if your immigration system was functional, if our borders were enforced, his son would be alive. The terrible racist Right-wingers he hates so much? And it’s not just this father who thinks like this. I watched some more of this Springfield City commission meeting. The whole thing resembled a struggle session, where no one felt they could speak their minds. They all had to affirm the virtues of multiculturalism. For example, you might remember this woman who spoke a few days ago about her experiences in Springfield. This clip went viral at the time for obvious reasons. And yet here was that same woman on Tuesday: So now, after her comments generate outrage — appropriate, justified outrage — she’s backtracking. Now that they make Democrats and the ideology of multiculturalism look bad, she’s apologetic. She doesn’t say she lied before. She just recognizes now that what she said was inconvenient for the ideology she’s required to hold, if she wants to stay in the good graces of her community. Again, the whole council meeting went like this. One speaker after another affirmed the values of “diversity.” Here’s another: It’s like watching someone with Stockholm Syndrome. She knows the huge influx of Haitians has caused problems for Springfield. She heard all the residents saying so, just a few days ago. But then she implies that there’s no use complaining about it because no one’s ever going to remove all of these people. No one in power is going to send these foreign nationals back where they came from. So she might as well smile, and hold back tears, as she pretends that “diversity” is strengthening Springfield. This is the essence of multiculturalism, as it’s being applied in the United States. It is not an ideology of tolerance or empowerment. It’s an ideology with one goal, which is the destruction of Western culture. And if this city meeting in Springfield on Tuesday is any indication, a lot of American citizens — even those who have suffered unimaginable horrors as a result of “multiculturalism”– are perfectly fine with that.

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings labeled Vice President Kamala Harris — the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, even if by default — an “honorary Republican” in light of her constantly “evolving” policy positions. In the past several weeks, Harris has systematically attempted to abandon her own radically liberal positions — the ones she proudly touted during her ill-fated 2019 run for the presidency — by having low-level aides leak her walk-backs and flip-flops to friendly mainstream media outlets. Her campaign surrogates have done everything they could to put distance between Harris and her current boss, President Joe Biden. Harris’ final move, just ahead of the debate, was to finally add a policy tab to her campaign’s website — but despite repeated efforts to paint herself as a change agent who wouldn’t simply be a repeat of the administration in which she was still serving as Vice President — critics noted that much of the content under the policy tab had been copied and pasted from Biden’s campaign site. Jennings addressed Harris’ efforts during a panel discussion hosted by anchor Abby Phillip, pointing out the clear lurch to the right that Harris was at least claiming to embody. Federal authorities announced this week an increase in security around Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2025, when lawmakers in Congress count and certify the 2024 presidential electoral votes following the U.S. Capitol riot in 2021. The Secret Service said this is the first time a National Special Security Event (NSSE) has been granted by the Homeland Security Department for the certification process, following a request from the D.C. mayor and reports suggesting it. “National Special Security Events are events of the highest national significance,” Eric Ranaghan, the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service’s Dignitary Protective Division, declared in a statement on Wednesday. He added the Secret Service along with federal, state, and local partners are “committed to developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated security plan to ensure the safety and security of this event and its participants.” POLITICO and local CBS affiliate WUSA9 noted other events that have received the level of security provided by an NSSE designation include the Super Bowl, United Nations General Assembly, NATO summit, and presidential inauguration. Former President Donald Trump and his critics in Congress have traded blame for the chaos of that day. The NSSE designation “will help us build on the plans that we have already put into place to protect the Members of Congress and the Constitutional process on January 6,” the U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement on Thursday. “Our Department has made more than 100 improvements during the last few years to prepare for anything,” the Capitol Police noted while stressing how it is working with law enforcement partners to “ensure” a smooth certification process. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) expressed approval of the January 6 decision, saying “this designation by national security professionals seems to have been necessary” while placing blame on “extreme MAGA Republicans.” In this year’s presidential election, Trump is facing off against Vice President Kamala Harris, who in 2022 compared the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, to mass casualty events 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, as The Daily Wire recently noted.

Several prominent DEI activists who were featured in Matt Walsh’s newest documentary, “Am I Racist?,” have deleted and deactivated their X accounts just ahead of the film’s Friday theatrical release. The Daily Wire production features Walsh going deep undercover into the world of DEI and exposing the industry for the grift that it is. The podcast host spent time attending seminars and events, plus doing one-on-one interviews with some of the most prominent names in the field, including “White Fragility” author Robin DiAngelo. DiAngelo has yet to publicly comment about her scenes in the film, including one where she pays a black producer of “Am I Racist?” $30 out of her wallet as reparations. However, Walsh pointed out Wednesday night on X that DiAngelo had deactivated her X account. This is a shame. Former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines posted about DiAngelo’s absence from X as well, noting several other DEI activists who also seemed to have deactivated their accounts. “As always, sunlight is the best disinfectant,” she wrote alongside an image showing that “anti-racist scholar-practitioner and facilitator” Dr. Katie Slater, “anti-oppression consultant” Regan Byrd, and extremist activist Saira Rao had all were missing from the social media platform.  “I love when the trash takes itself out,” one of the post comments said. While DiAngelo hasn’t publicly said anything about the film yet, Slater did post a rant on Instagram, as The Daily Wire previously reported.  “This piece of s*** film comes out on Friday,” she wrote in the post, “and if you’re wondering why I’ve been off the radar, it’s because I have an inbox full of angry white men who are incensed that I don’t let my daughter dress as Moana for Halloween.” “Am I Racist?” will hit theaters on September 13. Jon Bon Jovi was reportedly filming a music video in Nashville when he saw a woman in need. According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department Facebook page, John saw an unnamed woman standing on the ledge of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge over the Cumberland River. Jon embraces the woman and with the help of the other witness, brings the woman to safety. “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” Chief John Drake commented on the video on Facebook. Fans praised Jon for his act of kindness. One person wrote, “I love JBJ but I’d like to also thank the lady with no name.” This person agreed, “Great job, John Bon Jovi, and your friend who helped you save the jumper. U2 are heroes, New Jersey strong.” So did this one, “Lovely human being.” Jon devotes much of his time to the greater good. According to the JBJ Soul Foundation, which he helped found in 2006, everyone’s life is important. The foundation does its best to help others in any way that it can. “It is the organization’s goal to recognize and maximize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs.” Jon Bon Jovi has not made a statement about the incident or what made him decide to step in.
