Melissa Gilbert Remembers Unique Relationship With Michael Landon 50 Years After “Little House On The Prairie”

Little House On The Prairie was an American television drama that took the world by storm. Loosely based on the Little House children’s books, this series was one of the most popular TV shows of all time. Now, the show is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and Melissa Gilbert is sharing her memories of Michael Landon. Fond Memories Of The Relationship Between Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon Melissa Gilbert played Laura Ingalls Wilder, the second oldest daughter of Charles Ingalls in the show. Charles Ingalls was played by Michael Landon. PEOPLE shared that during a recent interview, Melissa discussed her experience with working with Michael. Although he played her father on the show, off-screen, the two shared a special friendship. Melissa stated, “Michale was the quarterback right? So he set the tone of what we were doing.” She shared that she was the only cast member who regularly socialized with him and his family Melissa Gilbert continued on, sharing more details about the closeness of their bond. “We all vacationed together during spring break to Hawaii — the same hotel every year.” She even mentioned the bond that she had with Mike’s children. She stated, “Mike’s kids went to the same school I went to. I slept over at their house all of the time. They slept over at my house.” A Special Friendship Besides being close with one another’s family, Michael Landon also knew how to make work on set more enjoyable. Melissa Gilbert admitted that she still photography makes her feel awkward. So Michael would help make those moments more comfortable for her. She shared, ” He would do everything in his power to make me laugh while we were shooting pictures…I’m laughing, and it’s because he had just taken one of my pigtails and shoved it up my nose.” Michael’s kindness did not just stop with Melissa. He extended it to the rest of the cast of Little House On The Prairie. Melissa Gilbert shared, “Every year for NBC, he would announce the Rose Parade, and instead of taking a payment for that, he would use that money to buy the cast and crew Christmas presents every year.” Unfortunately, Michale Landon passed away in 1991 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he lives on through his loving actions and the memories of those whose lives he impacted. Woman Enlists Tiny Dinosaur To Show Off Top-Notch Tippy Taps!

Brooke Elder owns several reptiles, including a pair of rather large rhino iguanas (aka the tiny dinosaur). Most people keep reptiles in cages or other enclosures. Although Brooke has ecosystem enclosures for all her pets, she also allows them time to roam around in her house. There is nothing like lizard tippy taps on an uncarpeted floor. @boelizard As requested… full tippy taps you’ll want the volume up for this #reptile #lizard #exoticpet #rocco #rockette #fyp #rhinoiguana #pet #iguana #cyclura #motherofdragons ♬ original sound – Brooke Dog tippy taps are cute, but they are infinitely more adorable when made by the scrambling feet of tiny dinosaurs. Rhinoceros iguanas get their name because the males have a tiny protrusion on their snout, much like the mammal rhinoceros. They are endangered, with only 10,000 to 17,000 remaining in the wild. While rhino iguanas are intelligent, they are not suitable pets for everyone. Rocco is a rescue animal. Brooke adopted him after he was used in a food trial. It took her a year to acclimate him to her home before he felt “safe.” Brooke explains his early life during a feature video by GeoBeats and then discusses how he acts under her care. Rhino iguanas can grow up to around four feet and live up to 20 years in captivity. They also require a large enclosure. Image from TikTok. As he skitters across the floor, you can hear his lizard feet tippy tap as his claws hit tile or other uncarpeted areas. Rocco weighs around 20 pounds, which is heavier than most house cats. They are quiet and shy, but males can get aggressive during mating season. As a self-professed “reptile nerd,” Brooke is very knowledgeable about the animals in her care. If you want to learn about rhino iguanas or other lizards, follow her pages on TikTok and Instagram. Please share if you enjoyed hearing lizard tippy taps. Treeing Walker Coonhound

Smart, brave, determined, and a hunter through and through – the Treeing Walker Coonhound is not called “The People’s Choice” for nothing! The Treeing Walker Coonhound is a breed of medium-sized, powerful dog that originated in the United States of America. Learn more about this highly intelligent and good-natured hunting dog breed here. Description Mary Swift / Shutterstock.com The Treeing Walker Coonhound is one of the six Coonhound breeds under the hound group. The breed descended from the English and American Foxhounds. And they were first developed in the United States in the mid-1700s when a stolen hound called “Tennessee Lead” was crossed with a Walker Foxhound. The breed’s name came from the fact that they were bred to track raccoons and chase them up into trees. However, don’t let the “walker” in the breed’s name fool you! The Treeing Walker Coonhound are notable for their exceptional hunting skills greatly emphasized by their incomparable scenting power, speed, and stamina. While they mainly hunt raccoons, they’re also used to track and hunt other games such as deer, bears, bobcats, or cougars. The breed is also very vocal and they vocalize in different ways to communicate while on the hunt. And they have a distinctive bay that allows its owner to identify them from great distances. Furthermore, they are often referred to as “The People’s Choice” among coonhound breeds because they are more strategic when hunting. They will abandon an older scent trail for a newer and fresher one, resulting in more catches. Their smooth, fine coat usually comes in tri or bi-color patterns. Although Walker dogs come in tan and white, it is important that they are never called “red” so they can be distinguished from the Redbone Coonhound. Height and Weight Both the male and female members of the Treeing Walker Coonhound breed normally stand at a height of 20 to 27 in at the withers, and weigh approximately 50 to 70 lbs. Temperament Wirestock Creators / Shutterstock.com The breed is mainly a working and hunting dog, though may also make an excellent companion pet. Treeing Walker Coonhounds, in general, are loving dogs that tend to be eager to please their masters. They can also get along well with children and bond with other canines. Although to keep these dogs accustomed to people and various environments, early socialization is highly recommended. They are known for their unwavering determination and amazing work ethic. So, working for Walker dogs is not work, rather a kind of sport as well as diversion. The breed thrives well on ample consistent attention. So, the lack of mental and physical stimulation can make these active coonhounds high-strung. So, they do well in active and/or working homes. While they are naturally independent, Treeing Walkers are also highly intelligent, skilled, and confident. So, training them is easy as they can quickly learn from example. Their versatility as hunting dogs is what makes them such an amazing breed. They work well with a pack but can also hunt by themselves. Furthermore, because of the breed’s exceptional speed, treeing skills, and ability to quickly locate, some believe that Walker dogs are the most outstanding breed when it comes to coonhound field trials. Grooming Treeing Walker Coonhounds are not demanding when it comes to coat care requirements because they are moderate shedders. Combing and brushing their glossy coat on an occasional basis would already suffice their grooming needs. And bathing is only required as needed. Furthermore, checking their ears regularly is recommended to keep them from acquiring ear infections. Health Concerns Treeing Walker Coonhounds are a relatively hardy breed. In fact, they have an average lifespan of 12 to 13 years. However, some have been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. And they can sustain injuries when hunting in the field since raccoons are capable of doing damage to a dog. Best Environment Members of the Treeing Walker Coonhounds are not suitable as apartment dogs. They are too anxious to simply lie around a condo or suburban home. The breed is recommended to dwell in areas with a hot climate and sunny weather. Because of these scenthounds’ excessive energy reserves, rigorous physical exercise is necessary to keep them calm and stable-minded. Taking them out for long brisk walks or jogs everyday is highly advisable to prevent the breed from becoming destructive.
