The president’s son remains free on bond until sentencing on Dec. 16. Abbe Lowell, the first son’s attorney, said earlier Thursday in federal court that Biden intends to switch his plea and intends to plead guilty. He initially pleaded not guilty. Federal prosecutor Leo Wise said that “this is the first we are hearing about this.” A source familiar with the special counsel’s team told Fox News digital that this is not a done deal for Hunter Biden, and that it’s currently just an offer the defense put on the table. The judge had Hunter Biden agree under oath to no longer remain silent and told him that if he pleads guilty he gives up all of his rights to a trial. Before the court took a 30-minute break, Judge Mark Scarsi said that “the court doesn’t need the government’s agreement to accept an Alford plea.” The development comes after Hunter Biden’s lawyers had prepared to argue he was too high or drunk to pay his taxes. According to the Justice Department manual, DOJ prosecutors cannot take what is called an Alford plea, “except in the most unusual of circumstances…” An Alford plea is when a defendant acknowledges that a prosecutor’s evidence would likely be enough to convict, so they accept a sentence but maintain their innocence. New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, overseeing Trump’s “Hush Money Trial,” has been sued by America First Legal (AFL). America First Legal is suing Judge Merchan for refusing to release his financial disclosures after questions arose about his daughter’s work at a firm that works closely with Democratic campaigns. The lawsuit comes after AFL sent a demand letter to Merchan to release his financial disclosures. Under New York state law, judges must make annual financial disclosures, which must be made available to the public upon request. AFL sued Merchan, who presided over former President Donald Trump’s six-week-long trial in New York v. Trump, stemming from the yearslong investigation out of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. They also sued the New York State Unified Court System’s Ethics Commission. Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Trump has appealed the ruling and called on Merchan to overturn the verdict. The lawsuit comes after the AFL sent a demand letter last week for Merchan’s financial disclosures, threatening legal action. The AFL previously requested those records in June. Annie Polhamus Brown, who identified herself as Gray’s aunt, leapt to the teen’s defense in a series of since-removed Facebook posts soon after authorities identified him as the alleged gunman who opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder on Wednesday. Deadly shots rang out at 10:30 Wednesday morning. “They are charging my 14yo nephew as an adult, for murder,” Brown wrote in one of her Facebook posts after Gray was accused of slaughtering four people and wounding at least nine others during the shooting spree at his school. “Yall ready to see Polhamus blood in full throttle? Nah, I wouldn’t be either.” The woman vowed to stick by the alleged gunman, saying she “WILL NOT” leave her “nephew standing alone!!!!” “When Uvalde happened, I told my own children that ‘only hurt people hurt people’,” Brown wrote, adding that she did “EVERYTHING” she could to “FIGHT” for her nephew. “I will take care of my nephew and what he needs on this side — just check yourself before you speak about a child that never asked to deal with the bulls—t he saw on a daily basis,” she said in the post. The aunt, who lives in Florida, wouldn’t expand on the mental health issues but said she had tried to get him assistance from afar. She added that she helped him re-enroll in school back in January after a period of absenteeism. It comes after the alleged shooter’s relative had earlier begged in a social media post for “someone” to get her in touch with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in the aftermath of Wednesday’s bloodshed — claiming she’d tried calling but hadn’t been able to get through. “I am not scared, I will not back down,” Brown said in her social media rant. Elsewhere in her tirade, Brown appeared to offer support to the families of the victim, writing: “I Will NOT disrespect other parents and families that are dealing with this tragedy on the opposite end. They DID NOT DESERVE THIS!!!!” “Y’all can go ahead and play the blame game all you want, but THE FAMILIES affected by my nephew’s actions deserve all the attention now!!!!!!,” she added.

Federal authorities confirmed that the 14-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting four people, two students and two teachers, at his Georgia high school on Wednesday was previously investigated in relation to threats to carry out a school shooting.

The long-awaited “Beetlejuice” sequel is currently tracking to set a near record when it debuts on September 6 across the country.
