10 Best Covers Of ZZ Top Songs

ZZ Top stands as one of the most iconic and influential bands in classic rock history. Formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas, the power trio of Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard first unleashed their gritty blues-rock sound with their self-titled debut album in 1971. From there, they carved out a unique space in the rock world, combining Texas blues with Southern rock swagger, and released an impressive catalog of 15 studio albums over five decades. Known for their long beards, dark sunglasses, and an endless supply of Texas-sized riffs, ZZ Top became rock legends, their music synonymous with The post 10 Best Covers Of ZZ Top Songs appeared first on ClassicRockHistory.com.

WATCH: Actions Have ‘Kamalaquences’

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we break down the latest polling projections after damning statements from both the Trump/Vance and the Harris/Walz campaigns. Despite the best efforts of the Kamala Harris campaign to hide policy specifics from American voters over the last 90 days, many economic, industrial, social, and immigration policies have leaked out anyway—and boy, oh boy—are they unpopular! Legendary actor, comic, and writer Rob Schneider joins “The Tony Kinnett Cast” to share a few key thoughts from his new book—“You Can Do It!”—due out on Sept. 24. In an era of governments prosecuting people for posting jokes, satire, and criticism, Schneider draws lines from revolutionary France in 1789 to the famous Falwell v. Flynt case at the Supreme Court in 1984. Why are there so few in the entertainment and media industries ignoring the tens of thousands who lost their jobs during the government-imposed censorship period of 2020 and 2021? Jerry Lopez, @IndySpanglish on X, joins us for another exciting and painful week of “Awful Tweets,” where we showcase the worst social media posts from all over the internet for both your viewing pleasure and discomfort. Finally, Rebecca Downs of Townhall.com drops by with some breaking election news out of North Carolina. Catch the live radio show and livestream weeknights at 7 p.m. EDT on The Daily Signal’s YouTube, X, or Facebook—and subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an episode or exclusive interview! Suspect in 'execution-style' murder of woman, 21, caught after tipster recognizes him from 'sugar daddy' website: Court docs

A Texas man is accused of committing an "execution-style" murder of a 21-year-old nursing student in her apartment last month. A tipster told Houston police she knew the murder suspect from a "sugar daddy" website in 2012 and "instantly" recognized him, according to court documents. After receiving an anonymous tip, police found the body of Muna Pandey — who had attended Houston Community College — in her Houston apartment August 26, according to prosecutors. Paramedics pronounced Pandey dead at the crime scene, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department. Pandey was from Nepal. When police arrested Shah several days after Pandey's death, the suspect was still wearing the same blood-stained clothing seen on surveillance video when leaving the victim's apartment. Investigators said Muna was shot three times in the torso and once “execution style" in the back of the head, according to court documents. On August 28, the Houston Police Department shared a surveillance camera image of the murder suspect and requested the public's help in identifying the male. Citing the criminal complaint, People magazine reported that a tipster informed Houston Police that she knew the murder suspect from a "sugar daddy" website in 2012 and "instantly" recognized him.Houston Police said they arrested 51-year-old Bobby Singh Shah during a traffic stop on the night of August 28. Shah was charged with capital murder and booked into the Harris County Jail. According to the criminal complaint, a neighbor told investigators he heard "loud thumping" noises from Pandey's apartment on August 24. Prosecutors highlighted that when police arrested Shah several days after Pandey's death, the suspect was still wearing the same blood-stained clothing seen on surveillance video when leaving the victim's apartment. Officers also discovered a gun in Shah's car, according to prosecutors.Citing court documents, KHOU said Pandey's friend told investigators she previously had been stalked, and he helped her install a motion-activated camera above the entrance to her apartment. Video from that camera reportedly shows Shah holding Pandey at gunpoint while she was holding a shoe box, a shopping bag, a black jacket, and a purse. He reportedly is seen on video pushing her inside and leaving an hour later while holding Pandey's purse. Authorities believe Shah killed her just before leaving, KHOU said.Investigators did not make it clear whether Shah and Pandey had a pre-existing relationship. Prosecutor Rebecca Marshall said, “I can only imagine what Muna’s mother is going through being halfway across the world, so I wanted them to know what would happen in court, what they could expect."A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to financially assist Pandey's mother, Anita, to fly from Nepal to Houston to "say goodbye to her only child and give Muna the farewell she deserves."At the time of publication, the crowdfunding campaign had raised more than $36,000. Shah is being held without bond, according to online court records of the Harris County District Clerk's Office. Like Blaze News? 90-page Covenant School shooter diary LEAKED, and no wonder Dems tried to hide it. It’s FULL of leftist talking points

Earlier this week, the Tennessee Star published the 90-page diary of Audrey Hale, the school shooter who murdered six people last year at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. The leak came as a shock considering a court order had ruled to keep the documents sealed. However, one brave individual — the editor in chief of the Tennessee Star, Michael Patrick Leahy — decided to defy orders in the name of true journalism. Now that the public has access to what are clearly the thoughts of a severely deranged individual, “why the left was trying to hide it from us becomes crystal clear,” says Liz Wheeler. - YouTube www.youtube.com “The FBI was in on [hiding the dairy], the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was in on this, the local police department was in on this. We were told (gaslit actually) ... that we can't see the diary, we can't see the journal, we can't see the manifesto because there was an active law enforcement investigation going on” and people having access to it might “hinder that investigation,” says Liz, adding that “[Hale’s] parents claimed copyright over these writings” as well. “We were also told that these writings would pose an imminent danger to the public, and that's why you and I couldn't see it,” she continues, but “none of that is true based on what’s actually inside this diary.” Liz, who read the entirety of Hale’s writings, says that her biggest takeaways are as follows: 1. “Audrey Hale was a woman — a biological woman ... but she identified as gender fluid or nonbinary or a man sometimes.” Her diary reveals that “she had fallen prey to the left's gender ideology; she had been brainwashed into thinking that she was born in the wrong body and that she was transgender,” Liz explains. 2. “[Hale] also, according to this diary, bought into the leftist lie that tells people that if children with gender confusion or children who have fallen prey to gender ideology are not indulged in that ideology that they will kill themselves,” Liz says, adding that “this is an emotionally manipulative tactic that the left uses to try to force parents, who know that it's wrong, to chemically castrate their little boys or remove the healthy breasts of their teenage daughters.” 3. “[Hale] also believed the genocidal lie that the left tells the public at large that minority groups,” which could be “black people,” “women,” or “people who identify as LGBTQIA,” “are going to have their human rights taken away from them by conservatives, by Christians, by Republicans,” says Liz, noting that this lie is “intended to frighten people potentially into committing acts of violence.” “Imagine being a teenager who is already dealing with, in [Hale’s] case, autism, dealing with gender ideology and confusion and being told that your human rights are going to be violated, that you might even be killed by these people, who you are told hate you. Imagine the fear and the panic that this instills in someone who is already mentally ill and already corrupted with evil ideology,” she says. 4. “Audrey Hale, according to this diary, also bought into critical race theory. She writes often about white privilege and the concept of white privilege, and in one case, she writes about self-embarrassment,” says Liz. “She also writes often about this obsession with race; she viewed everything through the lens of race. She talks about being in love with a quote unquote brown girl,” says Liz. “She hated herself and other white people, and she felt that her only recourse was revolutionary violence ... the massacre of children — Christian children.” At one point in the diary, Hale wrote: “'Land of the free’ means whatever f***er is taking away human rights is not of a human at all. ... I wish death upon myself cause of the pure hatred of my female gender. With no rights, anyone's country is a shitty dictatorship.” “Almost every phrase in that paragraph is something that the left says on a regular basis politically and culturally,” says Liz. “Obviously, the left tried to stifle this [diary].” “Every single external ideology that motivated this young woman to commit a heinous crime — to murder innocent children and their teachers — was indoctrinated into her by Democrats and the left,” she condemns. To hear more of Liz’s analysis, as well as her meeting with the Tennessee Star’s Michael Patrick Leahy, who joined the show to shed even more light on the situation, watch the episode above. Black Ops 6’s most powerful gun gets nerfed ahead of open beta weekend

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a good feeling about Call of Duty Black Ops 6. After playing the beta over recent days, it’s felt like a dynamic, slick new entry to the series that retains some of the strongest elements of recent CoDs as well. However, there’s been one gun in particular throughout the beta’s first weekend that’s been absolutely dominating, and ahead of the fully open beta weekend, Treyarch has moved in to deploy one of the earliest nerfs I’ve ever seen. Rome’s Fierce Neighbors: Who were the Suebi?

The Suebi were a significant group of Germanic tribes inhabiting the dense forests of ancient Germania, beyond the Roman Empire's northern borders. Unlike many tribal groups, the Suebi were not a single entity but a confederation of various tribes, each with distinct identities and territories. Roman authors such as Julius Caesar, Tacitus, and Strabo provide most of what is known about the Suebi, though their accounts vary. Julius Caesar referred to the Suebi as a singular tribe and described them as one of the most formidable Germanic groups, known for their warlike nature. He noted their imposing physical stature, attributed to a rigorous lifestyle focused on a healthy diet and regular exercise. The Suebi were also said to avoid luxury, notably shunning the import of wine, which they believed could weaken their warriors. Read moreSection: NewsGeneralVideosRead Later
