After 15 years Oasis finally announces reunion shows

After 15 years as solo artists, the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are finally together again. Oasis announced their reunion tour across the United Kingdom and said those will be their only shows in Europe. The band was formed in 1991 and was together until 2009 when it was dissolved after many fights between the Gallagher brothers. An official statement of the band said: "Oasis today end years of feverish speculation with the confirmation of a long awaited run of UK and Ireland shows forming the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE '25 world tour. Oasis will hit Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025. Their only shows in Europe next year, this will be one of the biggest live moments and hottest tickets of the decade." "Oasis commented: The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised. Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year," The band said. Oasis European 2025 tour dates July 4- Cardiff Principality Stadium 5 - Cardiff Principality Stadium 11 - Manchester Heaton Park 12 - Manchester Heaton Park 19 - Manchester Heaton Park 20 - Manchester Heaton Park 25 - London Wembley Stadium 26 - London Wembley Stadium August 2 - London Wembley Stadium 3 - London Wembley Stadium 8 - Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium 9 - Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium 16 - Dublin Croke Park 17 - Dublin Croke Park https://youtu.be/gol_JnuEtKM One of the most successful bands from the 90s, Oasis sold an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide and influenced a whole new generation of artists. Centered on the brothers Liam Gallagher (Vocals) and Noel Gallagher (Main songwriter, guitarist and sometimes singer), the group was active from 1991 to 2009. They were the only two members who had been part of the band during all the years they were together and also the only two who appeared on all their 7 studio albums. Like all the brothers in the world, their relationship had many ups and downs until it really caused the end of the band. The post After 15 years Oasis finally announces reunion shows appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Bryan Adams covers “War Machine”, song he co-wrote with Kiss

First released on the classic Kiss album "Creatures of The Night", the song "War Machine" became one of the most famous songs of the American band with Gene Simmons on vocals. Although Kiss wrote most of the songs by themselves in the 70s, in the 80s they started working with other songwriters, including the then future popstar Bryan Adams and the Canadian songwriter Jim Vallance. Both of them co-wrote "War Machine" with Simmons back then a few other songs you can see here. Adams recently released a version for "Rock and Roll Hell", another song co-written by him, Jim Vallance and Gene Simmons. Now he also released his version for "War Machine", which also has an official music video. Curiously, it was Jim Vallance who played the drums on this new version and the track also had Keith Scott on guitar, while Adams recorded the vocals and bass. Although the song is really similar to the original version, Adams made some small changes in the lyrics. Hear the Bryan Adams version for War Machine, song he co-wrote with Kiss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xAYtmouRQk&pp=ygUXd2FyIG1hY2hpbmUgYnJ5YW4gYWRhbXM%3D The lyrics of Adams' "War Machine" version "Wanna bite the hands that feeds me Wanna watch them die Set the demons free and see them fly Strike down the one who leads me Gonna take his place Gonna crucify the human race Better watch out - cuz I'm a war machine You better watch out - cuz I'm a war machine Take the reins of power and seize them Draw the battle lines Armageddon's just a matter of time Tear down the voice of reason Let the arrows fly Your freedom's just a state of mind Better watch out - cuz I'm a war machine..."The post Bryan Adams covers “War Machine”, song he co-wrote with Kiss appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Jay Jay French talks about the luck Van Halen and AC/DC had with singers

The Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French talked in an interview with Let There Be Talk (Transcribed by Ultimate Guitar) about how lucky bands like Van Halen and AC/DC were in finding a new singer after losing their classic one. Usually, when a successful singer leaves a band or dies, they never have the chance to have the same kind of success or to even to overcome that success. However, AC/DC for example, invited Brian Johnson to join them in 1980 after the tragic death of the classic singer Bon Scott and they became even bigger with the albums released with Johnson. A similar thing happened with Van Halen, since after David Lee Roth decided to leave the band they invited Sammy Hagar to join them. Although his era of the band didn't sell more records, it was very successful and praised. In the interview, Jay Jay French talked about how difficult it is for something like that to happen. Jay Jay French talks about the luck Van Halen and AC/DC had with singers "Well, think about how lucky Van Halen was to get Hager, and how lucky AC/DC was to get (Brian Johnson). I mean, talk about lightning in a bottle. You catch it once, and you're already ahead of the game by 1,000,000%. Catch it twice? It's like winning the lottery twice. How do you do that? Like, how does Hager come in and create that world for them, that was even bigger, in a way, than David Lee Roth, you know?" "Brian Johnson came on stage with us in England, and did 'Whole Lotta Rosie' with (us)... We haven't played the song since '82. Went up on stage, and killed it. Absolutely floored it. Brian walks off stage, and he says to me, 'Jay Jay, that's the greatest crowd reaction I've ever heard.' And I looked at Brian, I said, 'Brian, thank you, but you're fu**ing full of sh*t (laughs). You happen to front one of the greatest fans on the planet Earth. I'm sure you've had exactly the same reaction, but I appreciate it," Jay Jay French said. Twisted Sister was formed in 1972 in New Jersey but the classic line-up was really formed many years after. The guitarist Jay Jay French is the only original member of the band. The guitarist Eddie Ojeda joined them in 1975, Snider in 1976 and the bassist Mark Mendoza in 1978. The classic formation was finally completed in 1982 when the late drummer A. J. Pero joined them. With six studio albums released the band sold an estimated amount of more than 12 million records worldwide. Two of their biggest hits are “I Wanna Rock” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, both from their best-selling album “Stay Hungry”, released in 1984. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAgnJDJN4VA&pp=ygUNYmFjayBpbiBibGFjaw%3D%3DThe post Jay Jay French talks about the luck Van Halen and AC/DC had with singers appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

David Gilmour talks about the setlist of his next tour

After nine years, the Pink Floyd guitarist and singer David Gilmour will finally be back on the road to promote his new album "Luck and Strange". A few months ago he said he wasn't sure if he would perform many Pink Floyd tracks from the 70s but now in an interview with Rolling Stone, the musician said that he will play songs like "Wish You Were Here" and "Comfortably Numb" but he is probably not doing "Money". David Gilmour talks about the setlist of his next tour "One has to wake up to reality once in a while. I think I will be doing one or two things from that time, but it just seems so long ago. I know people love them, and I love playing them. I’ll be doing 'Wish You Were Here,' of course I will. And some of the things that started with me anyway. Yeah, quite likely (I will play "Comfortably Numb". Quite likely." He was then asked about songs like "Breathe", "Time" and "Money" and said: "I don’t think I’ll be doing “Money.' If that’s your reason for coming…" About playing the entire new album, the musician said: "Not in one piece. I haven’t really worked it out yet. We haven’t started rehearsals. I’ve started working on set lists and how I want the show to progress, but it’s not set in stone yet," David Gilmour said. The 3 albums released in the early 80s that Slash loves

The 3 albums released in the early 80s that Slash loves

Saul Hudson, best known as Slash started his musical career in 1981 and alongside Duff McKagan, Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler made "Appetite For Destruction" in 1987, which showed the world that Guns N' Roses would be one of the biggest bands in the world. But obviously, before reaching that songwriting peak, the guitarist was influenced by many different kinds of artists. Besides being a big fan of albums released in the 60s and 70s, he also loved some records from the 80s. In an interview with 95.5 KLOS in 2024 the musician recalled how many great albums were released in the early 80s and listed three of his favorite ones. Rock and Roll Garage selected what the guitar player said about those bands over the decades. The 3 albums released in the early 80s that Slash loves Ozzy Osbourne "Diary Of a Madman" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrECR8daZPg Released in 1981, "Diary of a Madman" was Ozzy Osbourne's second studio album and it had many famous tracks like "Over the Mountain", "Flying High Again" and "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll". At the time his band was formed by the guitarist Randy Rhoads, bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake. Slash is a good friend of Ozzy and even had the chance to play with him many times. In 2010, for example, Ozzy sang on Slash's solo track "Crucify the Dead" and on Ozzy's 2022 album "Ordinary Man", released in 2020, Slash played the guitar in four tracks. In an interview with Rockklassiker in 2024, the musician said that he was happy that Ozzy would finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "I think it's great. I think Ozzy is one of the most influential people in rock and roll — period. And there's legions of fans out there that will agree with me on that. So it's a no-brainer that he should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame — as Ozzy. Because Black Sabbath is one thing. But when Ozzy went out on his own and did 'Blizzard Of Ozz'." "I think it was 1980 or '81, that record came out. Right around the same time that 'Back In Black' came out, that was a huge year in fucking music. And Ozzy went on to become one of the biggest record sellers in the business. So, yeah, I think that it goes without saying that he should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame," Slash said. AC/DC "Back In Black" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etAIpkdhU9Q&pp=ygULaGVsbHMgYmVsbHM%3D Slash is also a big fan of AC/DC and "Back in Black", released in 1980 is one of his favorite albums of the band. It was the first record to feature the vocalist Brian Johnson, who replaced Bon Scott, who tragically passed away at the age of 33 that year. It had songs like the title-track, "Hells Bells",  "Shoot to Thrill", "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution". Curiously, in an interview with Consequence Of Sound, Slash said that the guitar solo in "Hells Bells" to this day, is one of his favorite ones of all time. “(Back in Black) It was a killer record from start to finish – every song was good. The single ‘Back in Black’ was as good a single as a rock ‘n’ roll single gets. I think one of my favorite songs on the record was ‘Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution.’ And then, even to this day, one of my favorite guitar solos of all time is in ‘Hells Bells.’" "So that particular record, it was pivotal for me. I just started playing guitar. It was the first really great rock and roll band to come along in a little while. Obviously, it was a big record for AC/DC. (It) garnered them a place in history books that would go on forever and ever after that,” Slash said. "Back In Black" is AC/DC's best-selling album but also one of the best-selling albums in the history of music. It sold an estimated amount of more than 50 million copies worldwide. Black Sabbath "Heaven & Hell" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVUK2rtAkJE&pp=ygUPaGVhdmVuIGFuZCBoZWxs Another band that influenced Slash a lot and the musician praised many times is Black Sabbath. However, besides the original formation with Ozzy on vocals, the Guns N' Roses guitarist also likes the albums the band released with Ronnie James Dio. The one mentioned was "Heaven & Hell". On that album, besides Ronnie, the band had the original members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. Besides the title-track, the album also had famous tracks like "Children of the Sea", "Neon Knights" and "Die Young". It is Sabbath's best-selling album with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. In an interview with Rock Radio back in 2011, Slash said that Ronnie James Dio was one of his favorite singers of all time. "Ronnie was awesome, one of my favorite singers of all time. It only seems like yesterday (he passed away). I never worked with him but we both got our hands in the RockWalk in L.A. at the same time. And that was the first time we ever met. He was a true gentleman, one of the nicest, unassuming rock stars you'll ever meet," Slash said. The post The 3 albums released in the early 80s that Slash loves appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.
