Elizabeth Warren Claims Kamala Will Lower Grocery Prices After Inflation Skyrocketed Under Biden-Harris

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) claimed Thursday night that electing Vice President Kamala Harris president would lead to lower grocery prices despite the fact that inflation has skyrocketed over the last four years during the Biden-Harris administration. Warren made the comments as she spoke during the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday. Throughout her speech, she claimed that Harris would be better on economic and social issues. “You know what I love best about Kamala Harris? Kamala Harris can’t be bought and she can’t be bossed around,” Warren claimed after walking onto the stage and breaking out into tears. “We need to make life more affordable for working people.” Warren repeatedly attacked former President Donald Trump over his legal battles, referring to him as a “criminal” and a “felon.” “Donald Trump, the felon, has no plans to lower costs for families. He doesn’t know how, and basically, he doesn’t really care,” she claimed. “The only bills he worries about are from his criminal defense lawyers.” Warren claimed that Harris would take on price gouging and would “lower costs for your family” as president. “And there it is: groceries, gas, housing, health care, taxes, abortion,” she said. “We need Kamala Harris. This election is about your family and your future.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Inflation has consistently plagued the Biden-Harris administration, hitting 40-year highs at different points with bread, ground beef, fruits, meat, and vegetables all jumping under her watch. Dairy products such as milk, cheese, and butter have also jumped more than 30% in price since 2020, according to Yahoo Finance. Eggs are up 54% and cereal has gone up 28% on average across the country. Last week at a rally in North Carolina, Harris admitted that prices were higher now than they were under Trump. “We all know that prices went up during the pandemic when the supply chains shut down and failed, but our supply chains have now improved, and prices are still too high. A loaf of bread costs 50% more today than it did before the pandemic. Ground beef is up almost 50%,” she said. Trump reacted on Truth Social to Warren’s speech by criticizing her over her dubious claims of American Indian ancestry.

Live Updates From Final Night of Democratic National Convention

Democrats gathered Thursday night in Chicago to hear a bevy of speakers followed by Vice President Kamala Harris’ formal acceptance of their nomination for president to close out the party’s convention. The weeklong coronation of Harris, who replaced President Joe Biden as Democrats’ presidential nominee just one month ago, commenced with a party-like atmosphere that featured music and dancing at the United Center. All week, organizers of the Democratic National Convention presented a show of unity despite underlying divisions in the party, most notably on the Israel-Hamas war. The same spirit filled the air Thursday night as delegates and attendees awaited the most important speech of Harris’ political career. Shortly after the opening ceremonies, Democrats offered the stage to two teachers union bosses, followed by members of Congress and the Rev. Al Sharpton, the controversial activist and commentator.  Here are some of the more notable highlights from the fourth night of the DNC. 2 Leaders of Teachers Unions Rally Against Trump-Vance Ticket Dressed in white blazers, the two teachers union leaders took the stage to warn delegates about the dangers posed by former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, his running mate on the GOP ticket. National Education Association President Becky Pringle and American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten made partisan appeals in keeping with their unions’ one-sided political giving to Democrats. “Donald Trump and JD Vance are not just wrong—they’re dangerous. It’s all right there in Project 2025. They will shut down the Department of Education,” said Pringle, who leads the larger of the two teachers unions. “We are coming together to say, ‘Not on our watch.’” Launched by The Heritage Foundation two years ago, Project 2025 grew to a coalition of 110 conservative organizations that developed a transition plan for the next presidential administration. Unlike some of the misstatements and lies about it, Project 2025 does call for the Education Department’s elimination—an idea endorsed by Trump. Weingarten, whose controversial statements during the COVID-19 pandemic drew the ire of conservatives and parents alike, pledged her allegiance to the Democrat ticket. “One of the first lessons my students taught me was you got to walk the walk,” she said. “That means Donald Trump and JD Vance can’t claim they’re pro-child while gutting funding for public schools. That means that being pro-family means we support access to good union jobs, affordable housing, health care, and higher education. That’s what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for—and we are all in.” Wisconsin Senator Misrepresents Trump’s Position on Social Security Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., began her remarks by talking about the two grandparents who raised her as a child. It was her attempt at appealing to senior citizens—and casting doubt on Trump’s pledges to protect Social Security. Dating to his first presidential run in 2016, Trump repeatedly has stated his opposition to cutting Social Security benefits. “Donald Trump was asked what he would do about Social Security and Medicare and he said, “There’s a lot you can do in terms of cutting.’ He’s talking about cutting Social Security and Medicare while giving a huge new tax break to billionaires and corporations,” Baldwin said. There’s just one problem—that’s not exactly what Trump said. In fact, he never mentioned Social Security or Medicare by name. In a March 11 interview on CNBC, Trump said: “There is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting and in terms of also the theft and the bad management of entitlements.” The term entitlements may reference any number of government programs; entitlements have grown in recent years to encompass an even greater share of the federal budget. For his part, Trump clarified his position by stating: “I will never do anything that will jeopardize or hurt Social Security or Medicare.” Sharpton Targets Trump, Highlights Case of Central Park 5  Delivering a divisive speech filled with appeals to several identity groups, the Rev. Al Sharpton began his remarks by taking aim at Trump. “Donald Trump was a fellow New Yorker I’ve known for 40 years,” Sharpton told the crowd. “Only once, once in that time, did he take a position on racial issues. He spent a small fortune on full-page ads calling for the execution of five innocent young teenagers.” Sharpton was referring to the so-called Central Park Five, a group of black men convicted of beating and raping a woman in 1989. They were released in 2002 when another man confessed to the crime. Following his speech, Sharpton invited four of the convicted men to the stage to make brief remarks. At the time of the 1989 incident, Trump purchased newspaper ads with this headline: “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!” Recent polls show black men are gravitating toward Trump, potentially a deciding factor in the election’s outcome. Sharpton didn’t mince words. “All Donald Trump has been consistent about is making himself richer and sowing division to get that done,” Sharpton said. “This man sat right here in Chicago a few weeks ago refusing to apologize for claims that migrants were taking black jobs. Well, in November we are going to show him when blacks do their job.” Sharpton, at one point, mispronounced Harris’ first name, a mistake repeated by several other speakers at the Democratic National Convention despite partisans’ accusations that anyone who does that is making a racist remark. Ken McIntyre contributed to this report, which is being updated throughout the night. Please keep checking back for more. Cat Stumbled into a Yard and was 'More than Sweet', Now Takes Trusty Teddy with Her Everywhere

A cat stumbled into a yard seeking help and was "more than sweet." Now, she takes her trusty teddy with her everywhere. Bagel and her teddyMurphys Law Animal RescueOne weekend, a scraggly cat stumbled into the yard of a family, scrounging around for food. Starved and emaciated, she mustered all her strength to meow when her finder approached her."The finder said the cat is more than sweet but nothing but skin and bones and desperate for help," Sarah Kelly, founder of Murphy's Law Animal Rescue, shared. As soon as Sarah and her team received the rescue request, they leaped into action. Lovingly named Bagel, the tabby cat urgently needed a soft landing. She wandered into a yard looking for helpMurphys Law Animal RescueJennifer, a volunteer for the rescue, stepped up and opened her home to foster Bagel. Despite her frail condition, Bagel, a senior, never ceased her sweet meows and soft purrs as if to thank Jennifer for taking her in."After being seen as soon as she could Monday, it was evident that at less than four pounds, it was a miracle that this lady was still alive." Murphys Law Animal RescueBagel spent a night at the hospital getting fluids and treatment with round-the-clock TLC from the veterinary team. "She still has a long journey ahead of her to heal and recover from what appears to be near-starvation."The finder graciously covered Bagel's initial vet care and was relieved to know she was finally in good hands. Bagel was less than four pounds when she was rescuedMurphys Law Animal RescueAfter a few days in a comfortable home, Jennifer discovered Bagel's favorite thing - treats. "She thoroughly enjoys them as she adjusts to her new pampered lifestyle. She's loving the level of care that her foster mom is giving her."A few weeks after Bagel was rescued, they celebrated a significant milestone as she reached the 5-pound mark. She loves all the soft things in her foster homeMurphys Law Animal RescueShe began exploring more as she gained muscle mass and strength. She'd walk up to her foster mom and brush against her, always grateful for her presence and the treats she brought along."She's being doted on by her excellent foster and soaking up all the TLC she's ever missed out on. We are so thankful this lady is starting to put on weight steadily." She started to put on weight and gain energyMurphys Law Animal RescueWhen Bagel was gifted a little teddy bear to keep her company, she cherished it wholeheartedly and took it everywhere with her.She loves her soft beds, bountiful food, snuggle toys, and all the affection from her people. She sleeps soundly at night with a full belly now that she no longer has to worry about tomorrow. She is smitten with her teddyMurphys Law Animal RescueBagel is often seen with her teddy by her side, watching over her as she dreams of a bottomless bowl of treats, warm laps to curl up on, and spirited play with feathery toys.Motivated by food, the sweet senior is slowly filling out, and her coat is turning soft and gleaming. Murphys Law Animal RescueShe spends most of her time snoozing in her comfy beds with her trusty teddy nearby. She now walks with a spring in her step, and her gait has grown sturdier and more robust."She is living out her days snuggling, sleeping, and enjoying some treats. Her 'sweet tooth' is one of the ways this senior lady can be spoiled." Murphys Law Animal Rescue"Bagel has been a bright spot in a tough year, and we are so grateful to have been able to give her this time and TLC after all she lived through."Wherever she is, her teddy follows. Murphys Law Animal RescueNearly three months ago, Bagel wandered into a yard looking for help. She has since made an incredible transformation and is living out her dreams, surrounded by love and comfort. Murphys Law Animal RescueShare this story with your friends. How 'gentle parenting'  robs your children

The other day, my 7-year-old did not want to do the math worksheet I assigned him as summer work. He dawdled, got things wrong on purpose, stewed and sulked, and through it all kept trying to tell me how much he really wanted to ride his bike. What would I have done if I were a gentle parent? Listen to how he felt? Engage with his emotions? Negotiate with him about the timeline for completing his work?I care how my sons feel, of course. It is also my primary obligation to equip them for living, coping, and serving in a wider world that does not, should not, and cannot.I am not a gentle parent, but I did all those things. Eventually. But first, I ignored him to the extent possible for over an hour while he dawdled and pouted. Next, I let my other kids (each of whom did as instructed without complaint) ride bikes and play on the playground without him. Then, I talked sternly over him, repeating “first we listen, then we talk,” each time he tried to explain to me how much he hates math worksheets, how much he wanted to help his little brother on the playground, and just how angry it made him to be told to do any math when he wanted so much to ride his bike. This whole thing was a pain. For him, for me, and for my other kids.It would have been much easier and much more pleasant to tell myself some fib about how there's nothing wrong with rescinding a commonplace directive like “do your math” on a particularly inviting summer morning. After all, the truth was that I wanted to go outside and watch my son ride his bike as much as he wanted to ride it. Indeed, had he been completing his work without issue, I might have let it go at a few problems myself. But clearly, he needed a given lesson that day. And I could not in good conscience rob him of it.Did my refusal to engage with my son until the task was complete damage my relationship with him? Temporarily? For sure. Permanently? I hope not. But maybe.Parenting my children — by which I mean plain-old parenting, without the modifier — is not about building their relationships with me. It is about building their capacity for relationships with others and teaching them stewardship of the talents and resources with which they have been blessed. To put my own and my kids’ desire to “feel good” at the center of that enterprise, as gentle parenting encourages parents to do, is to cheat them. It is to deprive them of the focus, grit, and self-discipline necessary for their own optimal development in deference to the outcomes they (and I) might want in a given moment. How do my husband and I know this? Because we know and love the people who unyieldingly, ungently formed us such that we are able to do the same by our children. When I was 6, I cried every night for a month as my dad made me read a chapter book of his choice. When I read a sentence with incorrect punctuation or expression, I had to start over. In the moment, I hated reading. I also dreaded my dad coming home. When my husband was a kid, household tasks done incorrectly or incompletely had to be repeated until his mom was satisfied. In the moment, he could not wait to get away from his mom. He would, he thought, never clean his own house. Each of us grew up imperfectly, of course. There were skills we did not have and things we did not know until we were adults. We are profoundly imperfect still, as our children are and will be.But at least we each learned in childhood, on one dimension if not several, that the only way to get out of a dreaded or feared task is to complete it successfully. The ability to take others’ uncompromising direction, work through our own exhaustion and resistance, and keep both in perspective has served us well. Especially as ungentle parents. In their respective first-grade years, I put each of my sons through the same lessons in reading fluency that my dad put me through; I even used the same novel. My husband now supervises several of their chores with the same expectations that my mother-in-law bequeathed to him, using some of the same methods she favored. Our parents were not gentle, because they were parents. Which is why we not only love them but learned from them, too.So when that math worksheet was finally complete and correct, my son and I talked for a while. About how much he hated that assignment. About how much I hated assignments like that, just like he did, when I was his age. About how much of life involves doing things you hate as efficiently as possible so that you can also do the things you want to do and care for the people you love. About how the shortest way “around” things we hate is almost always “through.”See, in order to be a haven from unforgiving standards and expectations — as I do hope and intend to be for my sons as they get older — I must first subject them to unforgiving standards and expectations.I care how my sons feel, of course. It is also my primary obligation to equip them for living, coping, and serving in a wider world that does not, should not, and cannot. That’s why my son and I also talked, that summer day when he never got to ride his bike, about how sad it made both of us that he lost all the bike-riding time that he so coveted. And about how the loss of that time was entirely his own fault: He decided to test his formidable will against his parents’ wills. And he lost.As my husband and I hope, pray, and, most importantly, resolve that he always will. When he is grown, God-willing, he'll be prepared to teach his own children this same countercultural, invaluable lesson — rather than to rob them of its fruits in deference to some self-indulgent fad, as so many so-called “gentle parents” today are doing.

How the J6 witch hunt escalated Big Tech's control over speech

The federal digital crusade against anybody who entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, launched a new era of intense weaponization of Big Tech that’s still accelerating. While many Americans look at the modern-day U.K. and thank their lucky stars that free speech hasn’t plunged quite as low here as it has across the pond, the truth is that being hunted down, arrested, put in solitary confinement, or even killed for what you post or non-violent protest actions is very much a reality in Biden-Harris America. In fact, as this article will explain, even "doing journalism while not progressive” has become a crime in modern-day America. The response to January 6 unleashed a tripartite nexus of freedom-destruction aimed at noncompliant citizens: massive federal budgets and access to top technology combined with enthusiastic private citizens and private companies willing to actively aid government efforts to maximally punish a group guilty, primarily, of wrongthink. The latest excesses of digital nanny-state tyranny can be traced back to the fanatical federal response following January 6, which resulted in the biggest FBI operation in history and led to more than 1,200 arrests and 700 convictions. An estimated 3,000 individuals entered the Capitol, the majority without engaging in violent action. But the dragnet put in place thereafter was like nothing America has ever seen, pinpointing each step of the “insurrectionists” and destroying their lives and futures as much as humanly and extrajudicially possible. The “laser-like” search for anyone who entered the Capitol was made with a variety of tools. These tools included tracking geolocational phone data, accessing private banking information, extensive combing of social media profiles, state-of-the-art facial recognition technology, and ample use of enthusiastic citizen informants. The liberal media lionized these sleuths as “sedition hunters.” They spent many days of unpaid labor tracking down those men and women who had entered the Capitol on January 6 and the small number of individuals who engaged in violent actions on that day. They even developed their own J6 tracking app. Over 200,000 tips came into the FBI in the first few days after the official investigation launched. One of those whom the J6 witch hunt has snagged is Blaze News investigative reporter and correspondent Steve Baker. On January 6, Baker was working as a freelancer covering the protests and was one of over five dozen members of the media documenting the day’s events. As Baker explains, “I didn’t submit my story to the right kind of publication, so I got arrested.” Video footage shows Baker comporting himself calmly without violence or provocation and leaving when directed to by law enforcement. Later that evening, however, Baker called Nancy Pelosi a “bitch” on camera, which the authorities have used to retroactively impute his time inside the Capitol as participation in the actions of “the mob.” They have subsequently charged him with four misdemeanors. “We can point to literally hundreds of protests and riotous events that did far more damage, with people killed, and the perpetrators have not been prosecuted, had their cases dropped, or were not charged to begin with,” Baker notes. According to Baker, the difference is that the non-left has only had one big slip-up. “The massive difference was that January 6 was our one event. They have racked up hundreds of them over decades. We finally did one and they lost their minds, and they activated the largest investigation — the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice — dragnet in the history of the country because our people screwed up one time.” A digital war on dissent Dragnet is far from an overstatement. Court filings prove Google responded to thousands of location requests by the government, essentially issuing a “mass warrant” against those in and around the Capitol on the argument that they may have been committing a crime or “witnessed” a crime and were thus not subject to privacy protections in their data and location. To cut a long story short, Stasi-like tactics and reasoning are very much par for the course among the upper echelons of the U.S. security establishment. As Rachel Weiner and Drew Harwell note: “Since 2016, law enforcement has used geofence warrants to pull information from smartphone owners who use ‘Google location history,’ which regularly records a person’s location through a combination of cell tower, internet protocol, wireless, GPS, and Bluetooth data.” The response to January 6 unleashed a tripartite nexus of freedom-destruction aimed at non-compliant citizens: massive federal budgets and access to top technology combined with enthusiastic private citizens and private companies willing to actively aid government efforts to maximally punish a group guilty, primarily, of wrongthink. This multipronged witch hunt helped the government track down many of the “domestic terrorists,” as Biden referred to them, along with aid in boosting numerous false stories by the mainstream corporate media. This included breathless media platforming of serial perjurers such as Harry Dunn and David Lazarus, who told a version of events in line with the story of Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic establishment. “We’ve actually seen in trial demonstrations the FBI bragging about their prowess of following somebody all the way from Texas, all the way through Arkansas, all the way to the Capitol,” Baker recounts. “Spending the night in Virginia. Going over across the river the next day. You can see this is where they went literally inside the Capitol. Very precise, especially considering we couldn’t get cell phone signals that day.” As for technology used on the ground, it’s clear that this was significant as well. “We know there were — and this is typical of any crowd — it’s not related just to January 6. But the various federal agencies had gathered surveillance teams in the crowd, and they are using very specific technologies in that,” Baker explains. “We have no doubt whatsoever that they were utilizing real-time facial recognition technology to identify threats. This is not a ‘bad’ thing or nefarious thing in and of itself. But we also know that they were tracking innocent people.” When it comes to tech used in the crowd, investigations are also still under way. “We also believe that there were assets in the crowd with jamming technology. There are portable units that are used by our special forces and IC that are very effective in jamming very large distances from either backpack-sized or smaller.” Baker points to “the highest-profile trials and some of the unknown and really tragic, sad cases,” adding that “these people are being lied about, they’re having their lives destroyed, and this does not happen to the other side. It never does. It just doesn’t.” While Kathy Griffin was holding up a bloodied mannequin of Donald Trump’s head in a widely shared post with zero legal consequences and violent rioters spurred by a false narrative were burning down cities during the Summer of Love, conservatives were facing an entirely different reality. Leftist celebrities and anti-Trump activists routinely issue death threats with little fanfare and few consequences (not to mention street-level violence), but when conservatives go off the reservation, they tend to get jailed or killed very quickly. Just ask Craig Robertson. Journalists in the crosshairs Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker in cuffs Baker highlights the horrific abuse of justice against journalist J.D. Rivera of Florida. “He behaved himself 100% professionally. He did not chant, he did not join in any of the singing. He wasn’t wearing political paraphernalia. He had all the professional photographic and video gear. … He was SWATTED by over 20 agents. What’s crazy is that the warrant was only for the four basic misdemeanors, and they SWATTED him. They put the red lights on his wife, his children, him, at 6:30 in the morning.” Refusing to lie and accept a plea offer admitting guilt, Rivera went to trial, got convicted on all four counts, and was sentenced to eight months in prison with his first 60 days in solitary confinement. “It turns out J.D.’s crime was not what he did that day. It was the fact that he was an activist for the Latinos for Trump movement.” In Baker’s instance of facing potential jail time for not being a leftist and covering January 6, a plea deal is still possible, but he wants to know why other journalists are exempt from scrutiny, if so. “This process is very disruptive to me in my life and my job. If I were to get a plea offer, obviously we would negotiate. I would negotiate it to the point that I didn’t have to tell a lie. If I were to be offered a plea deal that said I trespassed and entered a restricted space, OK. I did do that."But so did 60 other journalists as well. So this is selective prosecution. So I can say ‘yes I am guilty of entering a restricted space.’ But I also have to ask why aren’t all 60 journalists — the guy from the New Yorker, the guy from the New York Times, the guy from BuzzFeed … right down the line? Why aren’t they being charged? French television, British television. They’re not being charged. It is selective prosecution.” Baker’s case is currently in a holding pattern, but he’s not giving up, nor is he giving in to fear. His lawyer will also file a selective prosecution motion in the next several months. As for his journalistic work, despite warnings from individuals in the special forces community and intelligence community, Baker is moving ahead with an investigation of classified technology potentially used on January 6, which he has been urged not to continue digging into. But Baker isn’t stopping. “I have multiple dead-man switches set up in the event of anything happening to me,” Baker emphasizes. “I’ve been very public about that.”
