Lionsgate Yanks ‘Megalopolis’ Trailer, Apologizes For Fake Critic Quotes: ‘We Screwed Up’

Lionsgate has apologized and removed a trailer for the upcoming Francis Ford Coppola film “Megalopolis” after accusations of fabricated critic quotes. “Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for ‘Megalopolis,’” a Lionsgate spokesperson said in a statement, per Variety. “We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry.” The trailer in question was released on Wednesday morning. It included big-name critics such as Roger Ebert panning Coppola’s previous projects, but upon closer inspection, it became clear that the quotes were either made up or attributed to the wrong films. Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. The trailer highlighted negative quotes about Coppola’s films as a means of showing the divisiveness of his work. This seemed to be an effort to counteract the mixed reactions “Megalopolis” received at Cannes, per NBC News.  One such faux quote was attributed to Variety reviewer Owen Gleiberman, who was said to have described “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” as a “beautiful mess” in 1992 when it was released.  “Even if you’re one of those people who don’t like critics, we hardly deserve to have words put in our mouths. Then again, the trivial scandal of all this is that the whole ‘Megalopolis’ trailer is built on a false narrative,” Gleiberman said.  “Critics loved ‘The Godfather.’ And though ‘Apocalypse Now’ was divisive, it received a lot of crucial critical support. As far as me calling ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ ‘a beautiful mess,’ I only wish I’d said that! Regarding that film, it now sounds kind.” Ebert was said to have described “Dracula” as being “a triumph of style over substance,” which actually came from a review he did on “Batman” (1989). Reviewer Pauline Kael was quoted as saying “The Godfather” was “diminished by its artsiness,” but that line never appeared in her original review for The New Yorker either. WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI “Megalopolis” is a science fiction drama film with an ensemble cast including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter, Grace VanderWaal, Chloe Fineman, James Remar, D. B. Sweeney, and Dustin Hoffman.  It follows Cesar Catilina (Driver) as an architect attempting to rebuild a utopian dreamland against the wishes of corrupt Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Esposito) after a disaster hits.  “Megalopolis” is set to debut in theaters nationwide beginning September 27.

Manhunt Underway For Arizona Suspect Who Threatened To Shoot Trump As He Visits Border

Law enforcement in Cochise County, Arizona, is urgently searching for a 66-year-old man who allegedly threatened to shoot former President Donald Trump as Trump visits the border state on Thursday. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office released a poster of Ronald Lee Syrvud on Thursday, saying he is wanted for alleged threats to kill a presidential candidate, News Nation correspondent Ali Bradley reported. Syrvud has outstanding warrants stemming from a DUI in Wisconsin, a hit-and-run in another Arizona county, and felony failure to register as a sex offender. #BREAKING Law enforcement in Cochise County are looking for Ronald Syrvud after he made threats to kill President Trump. Buy here for a theater near you. Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels told the Daily Mail that “based on the threats made” by Syrvud, authorities have ramped up security, especially considering that Trump’s speech at the border later on Thursday is “in an open venue.” “We have zero tolerance for any kind of threats or intents of violence, so we’ll find him. He’ll go to jail,” Dannels said. “He’s a registered sex offender here in Cochise County, and we were looking for him. He’s out of compliance as part of his violations. So we’re looking for him on that,” the sheriff added. “We’re going to arrest him on that. But also the fact his pulse was obviously directed toward this event. So we want to talk to him about that.” WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI The alleged threats come just six weeks after Trump was shot by a would-be assassin while speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump is visiting the U.S. southern border on Thursday before heading to Glendale on Friday for a rally. Trump held his first outdoor rally since the assassination attempt on Wednesday where he stood behind bulletproof glass that was installed at the behest of the Secret Service.

Queer Candles Have Hit The Market. Are You Filling Your Home With A Woke Aroma?

Crazy gender and race theories have spread through the culture and gained a foothold in dozens of major corporations and institutions, and while you may never go along with the woke, did you know you could be filling your home with its stench this very minute?  America’s largest candle manufacturer, Yankee Candle, is a proud supporter of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and believes the U.S. needs to help people find refuge from “state-enabled homophobia and transphobia” around the world.   If Yankee Candle’s DEI and LGBT homage weren’t clear enough, in 2022, the company also released “Love is Love – Rainbow” edition candles to celebrate “Pride.” Nothing is safe from the Left’s economic imperialism, not even an innocent candle.   “We’re proud to be supporting Rainbow Railroad’s important cause. Together, we can not only work to eliminate discrimination and hate, but we can also champion acceptance and impact change, not just throughout Pride month, but the whole year,” said Lisa McCarthy, the president of the Home Fragrance Business Unit at Newell Brands, which owns Yankee Candle.  Yankee Candle is just another example of a big corporation that has decided to embrace the leftist LGBT agenda and alienate a massive customer base. If only there were candles you could light that would bring warmth and comfort to your home without the woke baggage along with them… Well, now there are! The Candle Club from Daily Wire Ventures brings you nine unique brands that will never throw the woke agenda in your face. Instead of lighting a rainbow candle, pick from the favorite scents of Daily Wire hosts or from the customer-favorite smells of Mayflower and Jeremy’s.  And you’re in luck because right now, you can get an additional 20% off when you subscribe to your favorites from The Candle Club. Shop The Candle Club’s smells without worrying about sending your money to candle companies that would rather champion leftist causes than make quality products for all customers.  Check out the all-new Ben Shapiro line of candles which features five scents housed in bold ceramic that is emblazoned with the Official Seal of Facts (Don’t Care About Your Feelings) AND Ben’s signature on the back. Daily Wire host Michael Knowles has a batch of candles in high demand, including the Wise Man (formerly known and loved as Smells and Bells) and the Crème De La Crème.  For those who prefer a little extra luxury, the Stella Rosina brand is an excellent option. Enjoy the sophisticated scents of candles such as Decadence, Santal Luxe, Leather Noir, and a variety of others. Brett Cooper also has a line of candles that the ladies will love. Her collection includes a mini disco ball vessel and reusable chunky ceramic mugs with coasters! And don’t miss Matt Walsh’s simple and masculine array of candles for those who would rather be near a lake or in the mountains.  The Candle Club also offers Salty & Lit for those who love the comfort of a good book and the peace found in the Bible and Bullwick, a candle brand for even the manliest of men.  No matter what brand or candle you choose, you can rest assured that they were all handcrafted right here in Tennessee and produced with all-natural wax that contains no paraffin to optimize performance for a clean burn. Every scent is also free from phthalates, toxins, carcinogens, and mutagens, and adheres to International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards for safety and purity. Don’t let queer candles get lit in your home. Fill the air with the scents of candles made without the woke agenda attached to them.

Walz Voted Against Trump-Backed Bill That Gave Veterans More Health Care Options

As a congressman, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz voted against a bill meant to streamline and improve medical treatment for military veterans.  In 2018, Walz was one of 70 Democrats in the House who voted against the “VA MISSION Act,” which gives veterans the option to get healthcare from a nearby provider and bill the VA if their nearest VA provider was more than 30 minutes away. The law also ensures veterans would be able to get an appointment for primary care, mental health care, and non-institutional extended care services within 20 days of reaching out to the VA. Despite Walz and other Democrats opposition, the bill passed 347-70 in the House and 92-5 in the Senate.  “This is truly a historic moment, a historic time for our country,” former President Donald Trump said as he signed the legislation in June 2018. “We’re allowing our veterans to get access to the best medical care available, whether it’s at the VA or at a private provider.” Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) told The Daily Wire on Wednesday that the legislation was something that “the veterans’ community had been asking for for decades” and that Trump and a Republican-led Congress got it passed. “Essentially if the VA can’t give you the service you need, the wait lines are too long or you have to drive too far, you can just go to your doctor and they’ll bill it to the VA. It’s common sense legislation and it’s one of the most popular and consequential pieces that we’ve had and Walz voted against it.” “He’s going to be at the table of every national security council. Probably one of—if not the only one—with any military experience at all, and he exaggerated what he did. That’s disqualifying in my view.”@michaelgwaltz tells Daily Wire reporter @BrentScher why he was one of 50… pic.twitter.com/okxx3SmLOX — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) August 21, 2024 Waltz said that Tim Walz should be “called to task” for the vote.  “I would like to think that’s something he regrets,” Waltz said. “He would be eliminating choice from our veterans community and putting all the eggs back in that bureaucracy of the VA that often doesn’t get the job done for our vets.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Walz has come under fire for making misleading claims about his service in the National Guard, specifically about misrepresentations about him serving in combat zones.  On Wednesday, 50 Republican veterans in Congress sent a letter to Walz accusing him of diminishing the service records of other veterans “You have stated that you are ‘damn proud’ of your service, and like any American veteran, you should be,” they stated. “But there is no honor in lying about the nature of your service. Repeatedly claiming to be a ‘Retired Command Sergeant Major’ when you did not complete the requirements was not honorable,” the letter states. “Nor was it honorable to claim to carry weapons ‘in war’ when you had not served in war, and abandoning the men and women under your leadership just as they were getting ready to deploy was certainly not honorable either.”

Eighty Media Outlets Issue Correction on AP Story That Inflated Gaza Civilian Death Toll

More than 80 media outlets with forced to issue a correction after running an Associated Press story that alleged that 40,000 civilians had been killed in the Gaza Strip. An August 18 AP story said that Vice President Kamala Harris had been “vocal” about the need to protect civilians in the Israel-Hamas war, and that the “civilian death toll has now exceeded 40,000.” But “not even Hamas has alleged that more than 40,000 Palestinian civilians in Gaza have been killed in the war between Israel and the terror organization,” according to the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA), which monitors Arab media. “While the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported over 40,000 total deaths among Gaza’s residents, its data does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. Israeli sources, meanwhile, estimate that over 17,000 of those killed are Hamas combatants,” it said. AP appended a correction to its story on August 19. The outlet also revised the article’s text to say “More than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, the territory’s Hamas-controlled Health Ministry says, but how many are civilians is unknown. The ministry does not distinguish between civilians and militants in its count. Israel says it has killed more than 17,000 militants in the war.” Media outlets who carried the wire service’s article also issued corrections. But CAMERA said that NBC affiliates in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York had still not made the correction three days after being notified. Tamas Sternthal, who leads CAMERA’s Israel office, said in a statement that “AP’s grossly inflated and unfounded civilian casualty figure fuels pernicious false narratives accusing Israel of genocide, further inflaming the conflict.” “One AP error can distort public understanding globally and contribute to an escalation of hostilities,” Sternthal said. The AP won a photo contest for its photo of Hamas terrorists parading an Israeli woman’s lifeless body through the streets — a shot that it reportedly managed to obtain because its freelance photographer, Ali Mahmud, accompanied Hamas terrorists during the October 7 massacre of 1,200 Israelis. “Many of these photos allude to photographer’s previous knowledge and possible involvement of the massive attack launched on Israeli soil – in order to get the ‘shot of a lifetime,'” The Jerusalem Post reported. The wire service also published images of the Hamas attack credited to Hassan Eslaiah, who was reportedly captured on film being kissed on the cheek by Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza. The AP infamously shared office space with Hamas, an arrangement that suggests the AP was complicit in, or at best aware of, the terror group’s presence. Hamas frequently operates out of civilian-dense buildings, like hospitals, and then claims Israel was targeting civilians. Israeli forces destroyed the high-rise containing the AP’s Gaza bureau in May 2021, after notifying occupants to evacuate the building. In its coverage of the bombing, the AP insisted that Israel “did not provide evidence for the claims” that Hamas was operating out of the building and using the AP staff as “human shields.”

WATCH: Minnesota Man Loses Property To Homeless Camp, Blames Tim Walz: Wouldn’t Allow It ‘On One Of Their Properties’

A Minneapolis landowner whose property has been taken over by vagrants is speaking out against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his progressive policies. Arne, a real estate broker in Minneapolis, spoke with Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips in a segment that aired on Daily Wire’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday. Phillips traveled to Minnesota several weeks ago to meet with Arne and tour one of his properties, an empty lot in a Minneapolis neighborhood that had been taken over by homeless. “Basically after, you know, the pandemic and the George Floyd, you know, riots, protests – whatever you want to call them – that’s when everything really changed,” Arne said. “I was blocks away from where George Floyd was killed and we experienced everything that was going on for those 3-4 days when the city was burning,” he continued. “It was just, I don’t know, there was a sense of, like, they were just letting it happen for some reason.” Rioting over George Floyd caused massive destruction across the Twin Cities area, resulting in $500 million worth of damage to Minneapolis, according to one estimate by the Lake Street Council. Law enforcement lost control of the unrest as crowds of rioters looted stores and set fire to property, including torching the Minneapolis Third Precinct police headquarters. “Why didn’t they just stop it? They’re not being affected by this because they’re – you know, if this was the governor’s mansion, you think they would let this happen? No,” Arne said, adding, “They’re not going to allow it if it’s over there, you know, on one of their properties, but they’re allowing it to happen here. So, am I angry? Yes, absolutely.” Tickets for “Am I Racist?” are on sale NOW! Buy here for a theater near you. Following the rampant chaos and destruction, law enforcement still refuse to crack down on some destructive behaviors, such as drug use and squatting. The damage done to the communities in the Twin Cities area has prompted otherwise nonpolitical people to speak out, though many more who are upset about the situation stay quiet, Arne said. “I would like the city to just clean this up and everybody – I mean, I’m speaking for, not just me, I’m speaking for other people who, on this block, that are scared to speak out. I know dozens of people who feel the same way about this that I do and – I don’t know. It’s just, people are tired of it, and so that’s what I want to see happen. I want them to change it,” Arne said. .@cabot_phillips toured a nice neighborhood turned homeless encampment in Minneapolis, a result of the radical policies of Walz's administration. Harris’ Unrealized Gains Tax Could Devastate the U.S. Economy

Vice President Kamala Harris has thrown her support behind a controversial tax proposal that could have far-reaching consequences for the U.S. economy. The plan, initially put forth by President Joe Biden, seeks to impose a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for households with over $100 million in net wealth. This unprecedented move, part of the Biden-Harris 2025 budget proposal, has sparked widespread concern among economists, investors, and business leaders. Under current law, capital gains are only taxed when the asset is sold, allowing investors to defer taxes until they realize the gains. However, the new proposal would require wealthy households to pay taxes on the appreciation of their assets, even if they haven't sold them. This means that if a billionaire's stock portfolio increases in value, they would owe taxes on that increase each year, regardless of whether they sold the stock. Kamala Harris Backs Unrealized Gains Tax.Listen to @VivekGRamaswamy explain it.28% Corporate Tax44.6% Capital Gains Tax25% Tax on Unrealized GainsPrice ControlsNo Tax on TipsUp to $6k Child Tax Credit pic.twitter.com/d7m8iU02b2 — Truth Patriot (@Truth2Everyone) August 21, 2024 Critics argue that this policy would be disastrous for the U.S. economy, potentially stifling investment and innovation. The tax could force investors to sell assets prematurely to cover their tax liabilities, leading to market volatility and reduced capital for startups and growing businesses. Moreover, the administrative burden on the IRS to accurately assess and collect taxes on unrealized gains would be enormous, likely leading to inefficiencies and errors. Supporters of the tax, including Harris and Biden, argue that it is necessary to address income inequality and ensure that the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share. They claim that the current tax system allows the ultra-rich to accumulate vast wealth without contributing proportionately to public coffers. However, opponents counter that the proposal is more about punitive measures than sound economic policy, and that it risks undermining the very foundations of the U.S. economy by discouraging investment and entrepreneurship. The Democrats want to tax unrealized gains. This is the insanity they would cause. pic.twitter.com/gGSCDFcFeh — Declaration of Memes (@LibertyCappy) August 1, 2024 The proposed tax is part of a broader effort by the Biden-Harris administration to increase revenue from the wealthiest Americans. In addition to the unrealized gains tax, the administration has proposed raising the top capital gains tax rate to 44.6%, a move that would further hit investors and potentially slow economic growth. The combination of these taxes could lead to capital flight, with wealthy individuals and businesses moving their money overseas to avoid the punitive U.S. tax regime. Small businesses could also be caught in the crossfire. While the tax is aimed at billionaires, its ripple effects could harm the broader economy. Higher taxes on investment could lead to lower job creation, reduced wages, and slower economic growth. The impact on small businesses, which rely heavily on investment to grow and create jobs, could be particularly severe. The proposed tax has also raised concerns about fairness and practicality. Valuing non-liquid assets, such as privately held companies or real estate, is inherently difficult and could lead to disputes and inaccuracies. Furthermore, taxpayers might find themselves in situations where they owe taxes on paper gains that never materialize, particularly if the value of their assets declines in subsequent years. In conclusion, while the unrealized gains tax is being promoted as a way to address income inequality, its potential to disrupt the U.S. economy cannot be understated. With the 2024 election looming, this tax proposal is likely to become a major point of contention, as its implications for the economy and the average American become more widely understood. Critics warn that the tax could be the final blow to an economy already grappling with inflation, high interest rates, and slowing growth, urging the administration to reconsider before it's too late. Harris Campaign Stumbles Over Tim Walz’s Misleading Claims on IVF and Military Service

Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign is facing mounting scrutiny after revelations surfaced about her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, falsely claiming his children were conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). This disclosure comes on the heels of earlier controversies over Walz’s military record, further complicating Harris's efforts to rally voters in her presidential bid. Walz, who has repeatedly cited his family’s fertility struggles as a personal connection to reproductive healthcare issues, was found to have misrepresented his use of IVF. In speeches across the country, he mentioned that his children were born thanks to IVF treatments, aligning himself with voters concerned about potential restrictions on reproductive technologies. However, it was revealed that Walz and his wife, Gwen, actually used intrauterine insemination (IUI) to conceive their children, a less controversial procedure than IVF, which involves the creation and sometimes destruction of embryos. Unbelievable. Another lie from lying Walz! Tim Walz claimed multiple times that his children were conceived thanks to IVF treatment. CNN reporting today that Gwen Walz never underwent IVF treatment. pic.twitter.com/0BqqNEsTW6 — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) August 20, 2024 The Harris campaign quickly attempted damage control. Mia Ehrenberg, a spokeswoman for the campaign, defended Walz’s statements, explaining that he was using IVF as a shorthand for fertility treatments. Yet, critics from both sides of the political spectrum have accused Walz of deliberate dishonesty. "Who lies about something like that?" asked Republican vice-presidential nominee J.D. Vance. This is not the first time Walz’s credibility has been questioned. Earlier in his career, he faced accusations of exaggerating his military service. While campaigning for governor in 2018, Walz claimed to have carried weapons "in war," despite never being deployed to a combat zone during his 24-year tenure with the Army National Guard. His assertion that he retired as a command sergeant major, the highest rank for enlisted personnel, was also debunked. Walz had actually retired as a master sergeant, a rank below the command sergeant major. Stolen Valor Tim Walz lies so much that I wouldn't be surprised if in his next speech he claimed he survived an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. pic.twitter.com/PKoyWcxB2j — JD Vance (@JDVance) August 21, 2024 Republicans have seized on these revelations to question the Harris-Walz ticket’s integrity. "Lyin’ Tim," as some conservative commentators now call him, has become a symbol of what they describe as the ticket's lack of credibility. "It’s no wonder the American people don’t trust them," remarked Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for former President Donald Trump’s campaign. The timing of these scandals could not be worse for Harris. With her poll numbers trailing behind Trump's and key debates looming, the revelations about Walz are proving to be a significant distraction. Political analysts warn that such controversies could undermine her ability to connect with voters on important policy issues, particularly around healthcare and veterans' affairs, areas where Walz was supposed to be an asset. Moreover, Walz’s misleading statements about his fertility treatments are hitting particularly close to home in light of recent political battles over reproductive rights. Earlier this year, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that embryos created through IVF could be legally considered children, a decision that added fuel to the ongoing national debate over abortion and reproductive healthcare. Walz had positioned himself as a defender of IVF and reproductive freedoms, using his supposed experience as a rallying point. Now, that narrative appears to have backfired, casting doubt on his authenticity. The Harris campaign has tried to move past the issue, focusing instead on broader topics like the economy and national security. However, Republican operatives have made it clear they will not let Walz's deceptions go unnoticed. As political strategist Doug Heye put it, "Tim Walz telling whoppers isn’t what’s going to sway voters," but it does contribute to the perception that the Harris-Walz campaign is out of touch and dishonest. Matt Gaetz Crushes McCarthy-Backed Challenger in Florida Primary, Defying the Odds

Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has once again proven his resilience, securing a dominant victory in the Florida Republican primary against Aaron Dimmock, a challenger backed by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Gaetz, who led the charge to oust McCarthy from his leadership position last year, won with nearly 70% of the vote, sending a clear message to both his critics and supporters. Gaetz's victory marks a significant defeat for McCarthy, who had invested millions in an attempt to unseat the Florida firebrand. McCarthy’s so-called "revenge tour," aimed at those who played key roles in his ouster, has been met with a series of setbacks, but none as stark as Gaetz's landslide win. Despite being outspent by more than 3-to-1, Gaetz’s deep connection with his northwest Florida constituents and his alignment with former President Donald Trump proved insurmountable for his opponent. All jokes aside, Kevin McCarthy needs to be excommunicated from the Republican party. He spent $3 million valuable dollars trying to unseat Matt Gaetz, one of the best reps in Congress McCarthy could've easily spent that money helping Trump What a sad pathetic LOSER pic.twitter.com/t2On2BVlmM — George (@BehizyTweets) August 21, 2024 Dimmock, a retired naval officer, had positioned himself as a candidate of integrity and discipline, contrasting Gaetz's controversial and often bombastic style. However, his message failed to gain traction in a district where Gaetz’s combative approach and vocal support for Trump resonate deeply. Gaetz’s campaign framed Dimmock as a "carpetbagger" and a pawn of Washington elites, a narrative that struck a chord with voters who see Gaetz as a steadfast defender of their values against the establishment. The race was the most expensive congressional primary in Florida this cycle, with over $5.1 million spent between the two campaigns. McCarthy's allies funneled significant resources into Florida Patriots PAC, which ran a barrage of negative ads against Gaetz, focusing on past allegations of misconduct. Yet, the ads were pulled from the air in early August, signaling a growing recognition that Gaetz was likely to emerge victorious. We’ve seen Steve Bannon prosecuted, President Trump persecuted, and our fellow Americans deprived of their liberties. But the season is changing. And we will restore the great promise of this country! pic.twitter.com/ytLU12k1oS — Rep. Matt Gaetz (@RepMattGaetz) August 21, 2024 For Gaetz, this victory is not just about retaining his seat but about solidifying his influence within the Republican Party. There is already speculation that his overwhelming win could fuel ambitions for higher office, possibly a run for governor in 2026 when Ron DeSantis will be term-limited. Gaetz, however, has remained coy about his future plans, insisting that his immediate focus is on getting Trump re-elected. Meanwhile, McCarthy’s revenge tour, which aimed to punish those who crossed him, appears to be faltering. Gaetz’s decisive win underscores the deep divisions within the Republican Party and raises questions about McCarthy’s strategy moving forward. The former Speaker’s inability to unseat Gaetz, despite pouring millions into the effort, is seen as a significant blow to his influence and a testament to the enduring power of Trump-aligned candidates in GOP primaries. As Gaetz prepares for the general election in November, his victory in this primary reaffirms his status as one of the most prominent and polarizing figures in the GOP. With his seat in a safely Republican district, Gaetz is expected to cruise to re-election, further cementing his position as a leader of the party's populist wing. Gaetz’s triumph in this bitterly contested primary serves as a reminder that, in today’s Republican Party, alignment with Trump and a willingness to challenge the establishment can outweigh even the most well-funded opposition.
