8 reasons I’m not worried about iPhone 17 Air battery life

I've been thinking about the iPhone 17 Air ever since I first saw rumors claiming that Apple would replace the Plus with an ultra-thin iPhone 17 model. I was already prepared to go non-Pro when it comes to new iPhones, and my two-month stint with the iPhone 16 Plus proved that I can use a non-Pro iPhone as my daily driver. Apple's rumored iPhone 17 Air isn't confirmed, but multiple reliable sources have said that it's in the works. Apple is also reportedly struggling with some of the tech involved with making a phone that's between 5mm and 6mm thin. The battery is one of them, with a report saying that Apple engineers are "finding it hard to fit the battery and thermal materials into the device." The implication here is that iPhone 17 Air battery life might have to suffer in order for Apple to pull off its new ultra-thin design. I was already prepared to accept a battery compromise for the iPhone 17 Air. I don't need the phone to last as long as the iPhone 16 Plus and 16 Pro Max. But I'm not worried about battery life, as I have several reasons to support my thinking. Continue reading... Chevy Chase Plans To Speak About His Time Doing ‘Christmas Vacation’ At Upcoming Event

Chevy Chase will be present at the screening of 1989’s National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation in Morsani Hall at Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts. The 81-year-old will be giving a talk about his experience playing Clark Griswold in the series and will attend to fans’ questions during the ensuing Q&A session. With the Christmas holiday approaching, Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation remains one of the modern movies families watch year-on-year. It was a box office hit on release, grossing about $75 million against its $27 million budget. This made Christmas Vacation the highest-grossing installment of the National Lampoon vacation series. Chevy Chase as ‘Christmas Vacation’s’ leading star NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, Chevy Chase, 1989/Everett Before Christmas Vacation, He was a pioneering member of the Saturday Night Live show, as he was hired as a writer in 1974. He left SNL in season two after gaining acclaim as the debut season’s breakout star to focus on his film career. Chevy Chase established himself as a comedy film actor, appearing in productions like Foul Play and Caddyshack before the offer for Christmas Vacation came along. He returned to SNL a few times as a guest host, his last being in 1997. He reportedly earned $6 million for playing Clark Griswold, which was a substantial part of the budget. NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, Chevy Chase, 1989/Everett He is selling ‘Christmas Vacation’ boxes Ahead of Sunday’s event, he has the 35th Anniversary ‘Christmas Vacation’ Legacy Box for sale on his website. The limited edition package contains a custom anniversary poster signed by him, limited-edition ornaments, seven trading cards, a pack of popcorn, and a deck. NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, Johnny Galecki, Beverly D’Angelo, Chevy Chase, Juliette Lewis, 1989/Everett There might also be another card signed by Chevy Chase himself or one of his co-stars. Each box costs $300, which is a steal compared to last year’s $500 package containing a single signed card and a scrap of his Land Shark costume from SNL season one. Our Top Christmas Movies Of All Time – Did Your Favorite Make The List?

It is only a few weeks to Christmas, with hundreds of themed movies and specials to watch, however some stand out from the rest. The classics have remained a staple for decades to entertain families during the festivities. Some of these timeless Christmas movies date back as far as the ‘40s, looking into how various generations celebrated the holiday. Here are the top Christmas classics to put on your watch list this year; ‘Home Alone’ HOME ALONE, Macaulay Culkin, 1990/Everett What is Christmas without a Home Alone re-run? This 1990 classic featuring Macaulay Culkin shows the importance of family and self-reliance, as 8-year-old Kevin McAllister defends his home from two burglars. ‘White Christmas’ WHITE CHRISTMAS, from left, Bing Crosby, Vera-Ellen, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, 1954/Everett This classic holiday musical shows two war veterans, played by Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, who help their former Army General bring his inn back to life by putting up a Christmas show. It features dance numbers and renditions of songs like “White Christmas,” which families can sing along to this Christmas. ‘A Christmas Story’ A CHRISTMAS STORY, Peter Billingsley, 1983/Everett This Christmas movie set in the ‘40s sees a little boy who so badly wanted a Red Ryder BB gun for the holidays. Portrayed by a mix of comedic and touching scenes, A Christmas Story shows the importance of the simpler things in life. ‘A Christmas Carol’ SCROOGE, (aka A CHRISTMAS CAROL), Alastair Sim, Michael Dolan, 1951/Everett One of the movie adaptions of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol novel, this Brian Hurst-directed film is considered one of the finest versions. Others like A Muppet Christmas Carol, and many more of the same name have followed, but the 1951 release remains a classic. ‘The Apartment’ THE APARTMENT, from left, Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, 1960/Everett This 1960 movie featuring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine is perfect for romantic comedy-drama lovers. It won multiple Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director, proving its acclaim in Hollywood cinema. ‘Die Hard’ DIE HARD, Bruce Willis, 1988/Everett While many would argue Die Hard is not a Christmas movie, it gets a pass for featuring festive songs like “Let It Snow” and “Winter Wonderland” and many holiday references. Playing John McClane in this ‘80s release remains one of Bruce Willis’ top roles. ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION, Chevy Chase, 1989/Everett The timeless appeal of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation makes it one of the few modern Christmas movies to get replayed every year. It features humor from SNL star Chevy Chase, who plays a family man trying to pull off the perfect Christmas. ‘Miracle On 34th Street’ MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, Natalie Wood, Edmund Gwenn, 1947/Everett This Christmas movie does not promise much humor, but it portrays the touching story of an elderly man who tries to prove his identity as the real Santa Claus despite being accused of mental instability. ‘Elf’ ELF, Will Ferrell, Ed Asner, 2003/Everett Will Ferrell brought childlike humor to the screens in 2003 with his depiction of a grown-up elf who explores real life in New York with naivety. It is great for all ages, with fun and light-hearted messages to boost the holiday spirit. ‘Scrooged’  SCROOGED, Bill Murray, 1988/Everett Yet another TV adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, but not as popular as the 1951 version. It features a unique musical twist with a mix of slapstick comedy, touching messages, and a few mildly spooky moments.
