Never underestimate Kanya Sesser. This talented skateboarder, model, and actor continues to prove that not having legs doesn’t mean she can’t follow her dreams. From the moment Kanya was born, she has faced obstacles. It all started when she was born without any legs. Soon after, she was abandoned on the side of a road in Thailand. The only reason she was found is because her cries could be heard from a nearby house. Thankfully, the kind people who found her were happy to help. Then, at 5 years old, Kanya was adopted, and her new life in the United States began. Early on, it was clear to Kanya’s adoptive parents that she was the adventurous type. She rarely wanted to stay inside the house, and she fell in love with skateboarding as soon as her friend gave her the chance. She completed the longest Handstand on a Skateboard (LA3) – that last part indicates the category for folks with an absence of both legs from above the knee. Of the many country artists who performed at Toby Keith’s tribute concert in Nashville, none touched the audience quite as much as the late musician’s daughter. Krystal Keith chose to cover her father’s well-known song, Don’t Let the Old Man In. A talented country musician in her own right, she delivered a beautiful rendition of the emotional tune that would have made her dad very proud. She was clearly holding back tears as she sang. Joining the late artist’s daughter for Toby Keith: American Icon at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena were many of country’s biggest names.
