Kinzinger To Daily Show: 'Nothing More Conservative' Than Voting For Harris

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show doesn’t know what the definition of an echo chamber is. On Thursday’s show, weekly temp host Ronny Chieng hailed former GOP congressman turned CNN talking head Adam Kinzinger for helping the show break out of its bubble as Kinzinger told him what he wanted to hear, mainly that “there is nothing more conservative” than voting for VP Kamala Harris in order to save democracy. Chieng wondered, “As someone coming from a conservative background, like, why is it that whenever we talk about, like, voting access, election access, why does it always feel like a left issue rather than a right?”     Kinzinger replied by repeating the left’s narrative that Republicans prefer people not to vote: It’s crazy. Because for whatever reason, they feel threatened in the GOP, that the more people vote, the more in danger they are, and I think we know why, because what they are talking about today, what you see them out discussing, is not what the vast majority of Americans want. So, the thing we can hope is to turn their base out. Look, I think it should be a nonpartisan or bipartisan or whatever issue to say if you have a right to vote in this country, we should make it as accessible and easy for you to vote and then, by the way, if you can't win, go out and get better ideas to get people to vote for you. That’s the way you win elections. Voting is easy. Not infantilizing people by not having excessive amounts of early voting or requiring voter ID is not seeking to limit voter participation. Regardless, Chieng followed up, “And what I love about having you on the show is we get to talk to people outside our own echo chamber, I think, a little bit. I mean, what is your conservative argument for voting for a Democratic president?” Kinzinger declared, “Oh, it is really easy. I believe in democracy. I mean, democracy—I was there on January 6th. I had to live through that. Standing for the constitution, standing for democracy, there is nothing more conservative than that, and Donald Trump is the exact opposite of that. So, for me, Kamala Harris is going to defend that democracy and I think every Republican that takes their views, viewpoints seriously, old-school Republican, not whatever this new thing is, should be voting the same way.” Having two people agree that Trump is a threat to democracy is retreating deeper into your echo chamber, not breaking out of it. If The Daily Show really wants to break out of its echo chamber, it would talk to Republicans who sound like Republicans. Here is a transcript for the August 1 show: Comedy Central The Daily Show 6/2/2024 11:16 PM ET RONNY CHIENG: So, as someone coming from a conservative background, like, why is it that whenever we talk about, like, voting access, election access, why does it always feel like a left issue rather than a right? Sunny Hostin of ‘The View’  leads the charge to ERASE Kamala’s radical past

Memory holing actions taken by politicians is a job taken very seriously by members of the media, and Sunny Hostin of “The View” is no exception. “She’s a former prosecutor. Prosecutors are not really leftists, they put people in jail for a living,” Hostin said about Kamala Harris to the rest of “The View” panel, adding, “I know the vice president personally, she’s moderate.” Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” isn’t surprised. “They’ve got to frame Kamala as a moderate centrist. Every idea that she has, from equity over equality, to taxing at Venezuelan tax rates, 70, 80%, to open borders to all of the gender lunacy — all of her policies are far, far left,” Rubin says. Hostin isn’t alone. Much of the media is now regurgitating the claim that Harris is a “moderate centrist,” or “right of center,” and Rubin has the receipts to prove it. “This is why they want to censor the internet,” Rubin says. “Because they don’t want these videos, where you can immediately compare and contrast the way she used to say things and the way they’re trying to frame her now.” “She is a left-wing radical. You can decide if you want to call her a Marxist, or a communist, or anything else, but not only does she want the illegals here, she wants health care for them,” he continues, adding, “She was encouraging BLM to stay out on the streets.” Want more from Dave Rubin? To enjoy more honest conversations, free speech, and big ideas with Dave Rubin, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

After eight years, brutal RPG Salt and Sanctuary just got a lot harder

What’s the hardest game you’ve ever played? Ninja Gaiden always used to top the list, but now my mind immediately goes to Dark Souls and the upper difficulties of XCOM 2. Elden Ring has its moments, especially Shadow of the Erdtree, and Dwarf Fortress can definitely catch you out. But don’t forget old Salt and Sanctuary. Originally released back in 2016, the soulslike RPG with bags of visual flair may look a little lighter than FromSoft’s creations, but if you don’t take its 2D combat seriously, it can rip you to pieces. Eight years since it first arrived, Salt and Sanctuary is suddenly a lot harder thanks to a transformative update from developer Ska Studios. Apex Legends player count drops to lowest levels in three years

Since its launch in early 2019, Apex Legends has cemented itself as one of the premier battle royales, consistently going toe to toe with the likes of Warzone and Fortnite, and ranking towards the top of Steam’s top ten. Despite its strengths, though, Apex Legends has rapidly lost over 200,000 players during Season 21 - just under 50% - taking it to its lowest levels in three years on Steam. Fallout London review - Fallout 4’s very own New Vegas

Often called a “DLC-sized mod,” the fan-made Fallout London is better described as a brand-new game available for free within Fallout 4. Built over five years by more than a dozen dedicated modders, Fallout London is a wildly ambitious project that crafts a unique experience using Bethesda’s 9-year-old RPG while improving on its big brother in countless ways. While it is admittedly buggy in its launch state - just like a real Bethesda game - Fallout London deserves to be celebrated as a monument to fan dedication and the best mod for any RPG in PC gaming history. Rumor claims iPhone 17 will get an upgrade we’ve been waiting 5 years for

It's been too long since Apple updated the iPhone selfie camera with a 12MP sensor. Since then, the company's only improvements were software-related, with Photonic Engine and updates to Smart HDR. While the iPhone 16 will be the first to bring an Apple Intelligence approach, only the iPhone 17 models will add the selfie camera upgrades users have long been waiting for. According to Haitong Securities analyst Jeff Pu, the 2025 iPhone 17 models will get a 24MP sensor with six plastic lens elements. In comparison, the current iPhone 15 lineup has a 12MP front camera with five plastic lens elements. That said, the iPhone 16 is expected to offer six plastic lens elements. This means Apple will take five long years to upgrade its 12MP sensor, first introduced with the iPhone 11, to a 24MP sensor with the iPhone 17. While Cupertino has always stated that megapixels aren't the most important feature on a camera, this massive increase will improve selfies. Besides Jeff Pu, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously claimed that at least one iPhone 17 model would have a 24MP selfie camera with a six-piece lens. With that, it's interesting to see that rumors about the iPhone 17 selfie camera have upgraded to all models. Jeff Pu also shares the forecast of the other specs for the 2025 iPhone. For example, he believes Apple won't add a 6.3-inch display to the regular model, so the lineup would have four different sizes for the first time, ranging from 6.1-inch to 6.3, 6.6, and 6.9-inch options. Apple is expected to develop the A19 chip for the new phones, separating the models with regular and Pro processors. The regular models would also have 8GB of RAM, while 12GB would be exclusive to the Pro versions. In addition, only the Pro models would have three main 48MP cameras. The regular iPhone 17 would have 48MP and 12MP sensors, and the rumored iPhone 17 Slim could have a single 48MP main camera. Below, you can learn more about the iPhone 17 rumors we've gathered so far.
